Insane objects - can't fix by copying to new VI

I'm using LV 8 and Windows XP.
I have a VI that has been working and saving fine since I moved it to LV 8. The other day I added a few things and tried to save it. I keep getting insane object errors when I save it. It eventually saves and lets me use it, but I need to fix this. I tried the usual fix of copying the BD to a new VI, but that didn't help. I tried backing out the changes I remember making, but that didn't work either. I've enclosed a doc file that has a couple of the errors I'm getting. What can I try next?

Looking at the errors, you seem to have either one or two wires that are insane. You can either delete all the wires (I would advise doing this one at a time) and reconnecting them, or you could post the VI and I could take a closer look with some tools that I have. I would just post how to use the tools but I have been asked not to. Previous posts of mine may still exist that show how to fix insane objects. Try searching the devzone for replys by me to postings with the key words insane and BDHP.

How can I fix "-- not copied --" message?

It possibly means that one of your apps is no longer on your computer - it still appears in the Apps library in iTunes but the actual physical file is no longer on your computer. You could go through the Apps section of your library in iTunes double-clicking on each and hopefully on one of them you'll get a 'cannot locate file' popup; in which case remember which app it is, delete it from iTunes, and then re-download it

Tried 2 hrs now, can't fix it: I want new tabs to open google, not blank page; dwnldng an add-on didn't work, & now config has many CT2504091 files, what next?

Currently, opening a new tab goes to a blank search page with an annoying advertisement, and I want it to open a new tab in google.com.
I've tried for over 2 hrs to fix this, following instructions I found. Nothing has worked.
I downloaded an add-on, but it did not work.
I then used about:config and tried changing "newtab" and "keyword" but those changes did not work.
I now see that the config list has dozens and dozens of files beginning CT 2504091, and I am wondering if those should be there.
I now fear i am making things worse if I keep trying, so I am writing to you.
Alos, I am reluctant to use the "reset" option because it says "will TRY to keep bookmarks," and my wife will NOT be happy if all her banking and other bookmarks disappear upon reset.

You likely have a user.js file in the profile folder, this may sound like jargon now but the steps below shall fix this.

Can't fix Adobe Flash on new Win 8 computer

In reference to message 4600521, I am trying to remove adobe flash and reinstall so it will stop prompting me to install it. I can remove everything but the following - flash util_actnex flash util_act.dll and flash,ocx. I am getting a message that I am not authorized (trusted installer error) and can't remove. I have spent hours on this and I simply want to get flash working correctly.

I don't understand your reference to message 4600521 - that was a question about a graphics driver.
What browser do you use? If IE10, use Windows Update to update Flash Player. If different, please describe your problem in detail.

Update iWork to Mountain Lion compatible versions.
Software Update is now operated therough the Mac App Store. I'm guessing that you have a version not purchased through the Mac App Store, but on DVD?
If so, take a look at this thread. It's important to have the apps in the original folder. More details in the thread.

I can't fix my insane object error!

I'm getting the following error messages when I try to save my VI after running it:
Insane object at FPHP+208BC in "backup.vi":{sub}(0x10): Scale (DDO)
" " FPHP+20634 " " Waveform Chart (DDO)
" " FPHP+20E78 " " Scale (DDO)
" " FPHP+20CB0 " " Waveform Chart (DDO)
I read all of the info on insane objects available on the web site, and followed the instructions to fix the problem when it first appeared last week. I deleted and recreated the last charts and scales that I made, and eventually I recreated every chart and scale. This seemed to fix the problem, as I had no more error messages...until this morning.
I'd like to avoid having to recreate everything all over
again if possible. It's probably best that I send the VI to someone to take a look at and try to fix. We're using an opto22 interface for our readings, if that helps at all. Hopefully someone can help me fix this problem....

I was having a very similar error this morning. It turns out that the source of my problem was the range on the y-axis on one of my waveform charts was messed up. I had it set to autoscale and had been running the program and it plotted some really huge numbers because of a calculation error in one of my formulas. In any case, it seemed to run fine despite plotting bogus information, but when I went in to make changes and then tried to save I received the error messages similar to your situation and could not save. I fixed it as follows: I simply changed the values on the upper and lower end of the y-axis to something reasonable like +10 and -10. Then I tried to save and it worked just fine.
So you might take a good look at your waveform plots and check
the values on all of the ranges. I hope that helps you.

Insane Object error while saving: Can i identify case from error message?

I get the following message "Insane Object at BDHP+36C8c in "Data Logger.vi"{graphics}(0x80):Wire Segment (WIRE). I have seen errors like this in the past. It usually happens when the wire gets coiled like a snake or gets behind a place that cannot be viewed etc. The last time i had the problem, i had to delete the wire and rewire to have the problem solved. Is there any way for me to identify the case that has this wiring problem from the error description? I get this annoying dialog everytime i save my vi. Thanks for your time in advace.

The message means there is a problem with an object on the block diagram (the BD of BDHP). Fixes include copying the diagram to a new VI, and randomly deleting objects and replacing them. You might also try pressing control-shift-run arrow on the VI to perform a binary recompile of the VI. It is a long shot but it is quick and easy do do. Ususally you will not see anything happen but occasionally LabVIEW can highlight the error or even correct it.

How do I fix an "Insane Object" Error ?

I am receiving an "Insane Object" error when I load one partuclar VI. Is there any way to "copy" the diagram to a new file to fix the corrupted Object ? I am using Win N/T 4.0 and LabView 6i. The module was originally designed using LabView 5.X and the Module appears to work OK after accepting the Error Messages.

I think the most complete discussion of this situation can be found in the NI KnowledgeBase. Just go to the main ni.com site, search for "insane object" and follow the first hit.
That KnowledgeBase entry was created with a lot of input from some of the LabVIEW developers, so it's a pretty good guide.

The quickest way to do this (tested with OS 10.8.2, MS Word 2011) is in one line:
tell application "Microsoft Word" to close every document whose name begins with "book"
The reason why your script doesn't work is that you aren't specifying to Word which document you want it to close.
So, changing one line ought to do it:
close document incrementvalue -- instead of "close document"
But... when you close a document, you change the document count. Document 2 becomes document 1, document 3 becomes document 2 etc. So eventually you'd get a message saying "The object you are trying to access doesn't exist".
Because of this, if you want to do it in a repeat loop, you have to work backwards:
tell application "Microsoft Word"
set doc_count to count documents
repeat with x from doc_count to 1 by -1
if name of document x begins with "book" then close document x
end repeat
end tell

i imported my itunes library from a backup drive after i reinstalled windows on my machineby copying the itunes folder from the backup to the my music folder on my c drive. when i opened itunes and imported the library the playlists and ratings were missing. Is this normal itunes behavior? hoow can i fix this?

Did your backup include the iTunes Library.itl file that is the core of an iTunes Library, and if so have you restored it either to the default library location for your profile, or to another folder and then redirected iTunes to look to that folder for a library? Normally all you need do is backup the entire iTunes folder from the old profile's Music folder, then restore the iTunes folder into the new profile's Music folder.

Music cd's entered into itunes for copy are in a different tack order than the cd itself; how can i fix this

When I submit a music disc to be copied into my iTunes library, the order of the tracks is scrambled. How can I fix this so that the album track order in my library matches that of the cd itself?

Click the heading above the left most column of numbers.
Regardless of the order displayed during the rip the tracks should be correctly sorted when the library is sorted by Album, Album by Artist or Album by Artist/Year. Sorting on any other column will give different results. See Grouping tracks into albums for details.

When I want to navigate a webpage that contains a flash object, the Internet Explorer show the icon that the page contains an error, if I relod the page, the page now doesn't show the error and the Flash objects work well. This occurs recently, some weeks ago, I didn't have that problem. How can I fix this problem?
I'm using Win XP SP3, IE8 and Flash 14.0.0.145
I tried to uninstall the 14 version and installed the 13 version but the problem persists.

All new keyboards need Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and above for full functionality.
Rather short-sighted of Apple perhaps, but that seems to be a trend these days.
I'm afraid the only fix is to upgrade to SL. Personaly, I'd take it back and get a refund and seek an older keyboard or a third-party one elsewhere.

It's distorted by 'Free Distort' effect in illustrator.
I want distort path and all.

Because of my plotter(big printer) cannot cognize distorted object.

I just launched IDLE for Python 2.7.2 on Mac OS X 10.8.4.
The defaults for IDLE assume a PC environment and not Mac, thus it was expecting control+c, control+v for copy and paste. Under the IDLE Options menu, Configure IDLE...
Under the Keys tab, Use a built-in key set, select IDLE Classic Mac. Now command+c, command+v work.
Since I didn't want to squint, I set my Font to Ubuntu Mono 14 pt.
I applied these settings and clicked ok.
I successfully copied from a terminal window and pasted into IDLE with no issue.
