Insert 3D Graph in a PowerPoint presentation

Hi everybody !
I would like to insert a Graph 3D object generated with LV in a Powerpoint document. So far, copying a static image is not a problem, but I would like to be able to pan/rotate the 3D graph. Any idea ?..
Thanks for your help !

Thanks for your answer, but I think my question was slightly misinterpreted.
First thing is that I was a mac afficionado but I'm now working on PC. But there are a number of things that I do not master (not to say fully ignore) on Windows;
Secondly, I will not rewrite a PowerPoint style app with LV. No time for that, and anyway that would not solve the problem at all : I can't imagine installing LabVIEW on any conference PC, just to display a front panel with a single terminal on it and an empty diagram !
On another hand, I believe that 3D graphs are not LV objects (seems that it is a pain to incorporate them in a LV executable). So I wonder is there is any light possibility to embed 3D directly in a PP presentation in order to be able to have a 3D display without being obliged to use LV as an intermediate.
The problem I have to solve is to be able to present my work in an attractive way, in any conference room, without being obliged to carry my computer with me.
I already know how to create an animation from a series of pictures, but that's not what I'm looking for since the interactivity is lossed : you can't rotate the graph at will to present the most interesting points of vue, zoom in to show details, etc...
Any advice ?

  • Saving A Movie Clip for Later Use in PowerPoint Presentation

Does anyone know how I can save a non-copyright movie clip coming down the line and played on AOL so I can then insert it in a Mac PowerPoint presentation? When I try to download now, save and replay it, I can’t view it unless I go back to AOL, which will no be available at my presentation sight. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it is either a "reference" movie or RTSP streamed movie. You may be able to access the former by loading the URL directly to the QT Player and saving it if you have QT Pro (or you may not). In either case, a screen capture application like Snapz Pro X could be used to capture anything displayed on your monitor.

I've gotten a little further on this. The dynamic select is
working fine. It's the "a href" code that isn't. I'm wondering if
someone can look at this line and tell me if it's okay to build the
query string this way. The storeid comes through fine but I'm still
not getting the employeeid value to pass. Here's line that's not
    working:
    td><a href="registerStoreCust.php?storeid=<?php echo
    $row_storeRS['storeid']; echo "&employeeid="; echo
    $_GET['employeeLM']; ?>">Register

  • Inserting photos into a powerpoint presentation

    Hello,
I just returned from a Powerpoint class. I was trying to create a presentation by inserting my photos but my computer started to overheat and the scroll bar started to blink. The teacher said that I was using too much RAM memory and suggested that I decrease the size of the pictures. She also said that my powerpoint presentations are text based. I would like to create a presentation for my students at school.

Since PowerPoint is not an Apple product you should really consider posting your question on Microsoft's own forums for their Office:Mac products, as they would be geared more toward your issue than an Apple forum:

  • Insert scenes from commercial DVD into a Powerpoint presentation

Is it possible to take scenes from a commercially released DVD and insert them into a Powerpoint presentation?

notwithstanding the previous reply, DVD images are MPEG files, and won;t go into powerpoint without some conversion (probably to DV) and thus an associated loss of quality.
If it is a commercial disc to which you don't own the rights, you will almost certainly be breaking the law by taking the images and showing them to an audience in any format at all.
You might be better to look on YouTube for a similar piece of content.

  • Optimizing PowerPoint Presentations

I work on an iMac running OSX 10.4.8 and am using PowerPoint 11.3.2. Within the Graphic Design group of a large corporation, we create our customer's PowerPoint presentations using the Macintosh then they take the finished products over to their PC environment.
We do not have an inter-department PC yet so a Mac is our only option (preferred by us, of course). Unfortunately, I find that the file sizes of the Mac files are exponential and seem to grow inexplicably with even the simplest text changes.
We are very well aware of how to optimize photo images and which formats to use. We also are very careful to use the 72 dpi resolution settings when saving files.
Also, I have tried all of the 'tips and tricks' I could find on the 'net about copying from Excel, dragging and dropping images vs. using the "Insert" function, etc.
I have a PC at home and I was able to find a nifty optimizing program (nxpowerlite) to use on files there and have been bringing our large Macintosh-generated files home before giving them to the clients and have been able to reduce the sizes from anywhere up to 9 Mb down to 786 Kb with very little visible degradation of the images!
So what gives? Is there some extraneous data which gets attached to the PowerPoint files every time they're opened and changed? Is there any way to 'optimize' Macintosh PowerPoint files the way you can on the PC?
I understand that Keynote is the way to go for the future but unfortunately this large Corporation doesn't seem to think that buying a different Macintosh program will help us solve the problem when we're trying to accomodate the 90% PC Microsoft PowerPoint users.
We are working on getting a PC in the office for Microsoft work but until then I'd really be curious to find out just what is happening with these files.
    Thanks!

Hi, V. Welcome to the Discussions.
One common cause of Mac PPT file bloat is the use of the "Allow Fast Saves" PowerPoint's preferences. See this post on another forum.
For additional ideas, I suggest you search or post-to the "PowerPoint" group you can find on the Microsoft Mac Support - Newsgroups page. These are Google Groups with active participation from MS PowerPoint users, including a variety of expert users.
Be sure to state the version of PowerPoint you are using if you post there.
I don't mean to send you somewhere else, but I've found numerous answers there for folks with questions related to MS products. Accordingly, it has often proved to be the first, best place to look for answers to questions such as you are asking.
    Good luck!

  • How can I import an i-tune into a powerpoint presentation?

I am preparing a slide show for my wife's birthday on powerpoint 3.0, and I am a beginner. I want to play a song and show 93 slides. When I try to import the song by a file name, I can get into itunes, and I can select the artist and get to the album folder, but I can rarely get the song title itself to appear, and even when it does, I get a message saying that I have not designated the proper path, and tells me to check the path.
Does anyone out there know how to break through past the artist and album name and load an itune into a powerpoint presentation through the "insert" and "movies and sounds" command features?
I can play the music through the CD player and do the slide show, but I want to put the music into the presentation so that I can put the whole thing into a CD.
    Can anyone help? Thanks

You probably need to link directly to the music not going through iTunes. If the music is from iTunes store you will need to convert to mp3 first then link to the mp3 version.

  • IMAGES in POWERPOINT presentation can't be read by a Windows PC

I create a POWERPOINT PRESENTATION on a Mac and insert image files (jpg) from Google into the slides. The presentation works fine on the Mac.
I then go and playback this presentation on any Windows PC and it can't read the images, displaying an error message in the image frame of each such slide about some TIFF driver missing to display this image.
    What do I do wrong?
PowerPC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Powerpoint 2004 for Mac

I have had this problem before, but I use the following work around.
    1) Copy the graphic to clipboard with Command C (or use the Grab utility, then copy to memory)
    2) Create a new document in Photoshop (it should automatically create the correct size)
    - Paste
    - Cut
    4) Switch back to PowerPoint Mac and Paste it back in.
I do this routinely now when creating PowerPoint presentations and it works every time on PCs.

  • Creating video mpegs for use in a windows based powerpoint presentation

im putting a few short video clips together for a friend to use as part of a powerpoint presentation for work..
i have tried to send him a quicktime movie before and he hasn't been able to play it back at work so im worried about how to encode these clips so they are good quality and he can see them on his pc and use them in the presentation...
im asuming he's not downloaded any extra codec things at all so it'll need to be compatible with whatever windows has as standard...
cany anyone help me figure out the best option?
    thanks

Quick Time Pro exports MPEG-4 which will not insert into PowerPoint for Windows. While you will need third-party software or hardware to export to MPEG-1 (I recommend MPEG Encoder Mac 1.5, from mainconcept.com), the whole issue here is the strange world of what PowerPoint will and will not do in Mac and then over again on Windows.... Now the "good news" is that PowerPoint can play back MPEG-1 natively, on both platforms, without any additional codecs installed. While you can use the same MPEG-1 clip, the "bad news" is that different system resources are called upon to play it back. So, if you were to insert an MPEG-1 clip in a Mac PowerPoint file, and re-open it on Windows, you will get a prompt that you need a particular QuickTime component intstalled. If you do the obverse, QuickTime will play back the audio but only display the first frame on Mac. You can still use the same MPEG-1 clip.

  • Embed Edge Animate animation into a Powerpoint presentation?

Is there a way to embed the animation I created into a Powerpoint presentation. My client wants a rather detailed animation and I know I can do it in Edge Animate, but how can they use it in their presentation? Is there any workaround for this? All help is really appreciated.

I don't think powerpoint supports html.
But you can insert video in slides.
So, better you create Edge Animate composition and preview in browser in fullscreen mode and use any screen capture software that will create a video out of it.
Then insert this video in the slides to have the animation.
    hope it helps,

  • Creating Powerpoint presentation on run and render it to client browser.

    Hi,
I want to create a Powerpoint presentation dynamically at runtime. My user want to use a powerpint generated dynamically and save it on their hard drive or give presetation online. Is there any way i can create a Power point presentation using JAVA Server Pages.
I will be using Servlets, Java Beans, and JSP.

In theory, yes. The hard part is telling Powerpoint where on a slide to place an element such as a title, a paragraph, a graph, a chart, a list, etc, without being able to see the slide itself.
As a result, almost nobody will do it this way. Too much work for too little gain.
Depending on exactly what type of information you need to present, it is easier to dynamically create a Microsoft Word document, or an Excel document. For example, if you are trying to generate a series of graphs and charts, you can easily have your Java code write out the appropriate VisualBasic commands, send those commands to Excel, have Excel save the output somewhere temporarily, then use Java to display those files to the user, and delete them from the server when the Bean is finished with it.
I don't think Powerpoint has the same level of support.

  • PDFing a PowerPoint presentation (slides) in Notes Page print layout - is it possible?

    Hello,
I have a PowerPoint presentation that I would like to disseminate as slides AND as a booklet. I used the Slides Master to format the slides, and I used Notes Master to create the booklet. In PowerPoint, I can, by default, print the slides. I can also print the booklet by changing the layout to Notes Pages, and everything looks great.
    Now on to PDF.
I can, by default, create a PDF of the presentation with Print > Print Layout > Full Page Slides (default).
But Acrobat XI Pro ignores my attempt to create a PDF of the Notes Page View (the booklet) with Print > Print Layout >Notes Pages.
Has anyone succeeded in getting a PDF of anything other than the standard PowerPoint slide view?
Thank you for any tricks, tweaks, & wisdom on this!

I found an alternative but circuitous way of achieving the desired result. In PowerPoint I opened, then I printed the PPT presentationto a PDF selecting the Notes Page option instead of Full Slide. By then using a PDF converter to convert it back to PPT I was able to insert the  PPT as is. In other words it "looks" just like the PPT Notes Page view, which is exactly what I wanted. The code snippet and notes were intact.

  • Burning a Powerpoint presentation

I'm trying to burn a powerpoint presentation to a disc and don't really know what to do. I have a 700 MB CD-R. The CD doesn't show up in the finder or on the desktop. I created a burn folder and clicked "burn" but it says to insert the CD when it is already in. I was able to burn the same kind of CD from a PC to transfer to my iBook so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance, I really appreciate the help.

    Well,
it could be as simple as just letting the iBook eject the CD and then put it back in (or don't put the CD in until it asks for it).
But barring the obvious there you should just check all the options in Powerpoint and make sure it's got the right settings, that's where the burn disc should show up, it will likely only appear on the desktop in the finder after it's burned. The general rule is that you have to be persistent and try all combinations to get the disc to burn; many times Macs are a bit stubborn about getting discs in just the right order.
