Insert a frame or window into adobe acrobat  or reader window

Using Windows OS XP or Vista. Can you ad a frame or window into the main window to allow saving a document through another application? I have an application that routes save documents to specific folders depending on the type of document. I would like to be able to allow my clients to open or create a PDF and then have the option to use the application through a frame or window displayed under the "pages" or "bookmarks" area of Adobe reader. Is this possible and can you point me in the right direction.

Leonard - Could this "new" window contain a custom form as an object. we have used it in Microsoft Outlook with success for customers to insert information pertinent to an email item and then save the item to our application. What I am looking for is to allow our clients to open a pdf or create one and be able to save it as always but with the option to open this "pane" and enter information needed by our routing application. if this is possible can you point me to specific area to start looking as the SDK is very large and informative. I am lookg for a good starting point.
thanks

  • Paste Hyperlink into Adobe Acrobat  to Read SEC Edgar Filings [iOS]

In using an iPad, is there a way to paste a hyperlink into Adobe Acrobat Reader  that will open a document and allow all the features of  Reader to be utilized?

    Hi Dennis,
You cannot paste a hyperlink into the Adobe Reader/Acrobat DC for iOS app.  But I think I understand what you want to happen.
When you tap the hyperlink (to a PDF document) in a email message or web page on your iPad, the PDF document will be opened it in Safari.  You can use the iOS "Open In' feature to open it in Adobe Reader/Acrobat DC for iOS.
Please see the Safari section of the following FAQ document to see how to use "Open In".
How to open PDF documents in Adobe Reader (iPad on iOS 7 or 8 version)
Once the PDF document is opened in Adobe Reader/Acrobat DC for iOS, you can add annotations (e.g. Sticky Notes, Highlight, Freehand Drawing), fill in (if it's a PDF form), print, and perform other operations.
Please let us know if it works for you.  Thank you.

  • Why won't Adobe Acrobat or Reader for Mac maximize on second monitor?

Just what the question says. Running Mavericks, of course, and when I drag a Adobe Acrobat or Reader window to my second monitor and press the maximize button, it moves to the first monitor and maximizes there instead. No combination of modifier keys and maximize clicks will work either. The rest of my Adobe Creative Suite maximizes correctly on either monitor. What's with Acrobat?

I'm having the exact same issue... However, I do have the "Displays have separate spaces" option activated.
I can maximize a PDF on my larger primary monitor... But when I drag a PDF over to my smaller secondary screen and hit the maximize "+" button, it shoots the window back over to my other monitor.
Can someone help? This is driving me crazy. I also tried deactivating the "Displays have separate spaces" option to see if that worked... but that didn't.
Other apps work just fine. Chrome behaves exactly as I expect when hitting the maximize button.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro in Windows 7 w/ Autocad in XP Mode- not working

I'm running Autocad Arch Desktop (ADT) in Windows XP Mode within Windows 7, and have Adobe Acrobat Pro installed in Windows 7.  Unfortunately, no "Adobe PDF"  pulldown was created within ADT once Adobe Pro was installed, and there isn't any sign of Adobe in ADT (normally, Adobe automatically installs pulldowns within ADT once installed).  Adobe and ADT function normally otherwise.  Does anyone know how to get Adobe Acrobat Pro in Windows 7 to recognize and work with ADT in Windows XP Mode?

Can you tell me how to set the defaults to Courier 10pt font?  I tried select all and it's grayed out, but that was after the
fact.  Where are the original default presets?
    Thank you in advance.

I have adobe acrobat pro for windows and it is freezing up when I try to convert a word file to pdf... I have tried to get this done six ways from Sunday but it is just not working... help!  Chris.

It would be helpful to know what version of Acrobat, WORD, and operating system.
Without that info, I would suggest at this point to open your WORD file and then go to the print menu and print to file using the Adobe PDF printer. Open the created file in Distiller and see if you get a PDF. If so, check to see if AcroTray is running in the background.
You say you tried many ways. It would help to know what you tried and what worked or did not work, and at what point the failure occurs.

I just bought a ScanSnap scanner and it came with Adobe Acrobat Standard for Windows - but I have a Mac - can I get the Mac version?

    Hi Dcee3,
Acrobat Standard has not been developed for Mac platform so Mac version is not available. It can only run on windows machine.

  • "Please wait while Windows configures Adobe Acrobat 9" message

I installed Acrobat 9 Standard on my Windows XP PC (3.02GHz HT CPU with 1GB RAM and 4.25GB free HD space) and it runs OK if I'm logged on as an Administrator. However, if I log on as a non-privileged user, I get the pop-up message "Please wait while Windows configures Adobe Acrobat 9" for EVERY action I take. That is, if I start an application such as Firefox, I get the message. If I right-click on a file in Explorer to copy it, I get the same message, etc., etc.
This was a clean installation - all previous Adobe products cleaned off the PC. This is a ridiculous situation. Anybody know what the problem is and how to get rid of it?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Hi Mike, try deselecting the Acrobat Display PDF in Browser option
Choose Edit > Preferences > Internet, deselect Display PDF in Browser, and click OK.
Or disable the Acrobat browser check preference by choosing Edit > Preferences > Internet and deselect Check Browser Settings When Starting Acrobat
The Acrobat Display PDF in Browser option displays any PDF document opened from the web inside the browser window. If this option isn't selected, PDF documents open in a separate Acrobat window. A corrupt registry setting causes the error to occur each time you start Acrobat.
When you start Acrobat, it checks your default web browser preferences for compatibility with Acrobat and this preference setting may become corrupt. A corrupt preference file causes the error to occur each time you start Acrobat. Turning off, then back on, "View PDF in browser" forces Acrobat to remove and re-create the applicable registry setting. When "View PDF in browser" is re-enabled, the corrupt registry key is written correctly.

  • Trying to reorder text so that an Indesign created PDF reads correctly on Adobe Acrobat's Read Out L

I am trying to get a document to be read in the correct order by Adobe Acrobat's Read Out Loud function. I am using Indesign CS2 and creating a PDF file to be read by Adobe Acrobat Version 7.
I followed directions from sources online. I added all untagged items into the Structure window. I added alternative text to all the graphics fine. And the text areas are tagged as story. I then created a PDF used the Read out loud function, and it reads it all wrong! I then thought that by changing the hierarchy order of the tags that it would follow that list. But no! it still reads the same. I have tried a lot of things to get it to read right. I fiddled around with the acrobat preferences and now it just reads the alternative text?
    I need help.

I haven't used it, but I think you need to use Acrobat's TouchUp Reading Order tool. I think that existed in Acrobat 7. Here's the accessibility page for Acrobat 9 on Adobe.com:
    http://www.adobe.com/accessibility/products/acrobat/overview.html
If necessary, it might be necessary to upgrade to Acrobat 9 Pro.
