Insert hyperlink in Pages goes back to Apple

I have been cutting and paste an URL in the hyperlink tool. I see that www.apple.com is at end of UR:L adress and remove it. However the link always shows up as Apple.com. I do not have this problem with other word processing apps. I want to use Pages but typing in every URL is not practical.
Please help in that I have completed the document and all that is left is hyperlinks to reference pages.

I have just done this the way you described and it works as expected.
Have you typed the correct full URL?
Check for typos in the Links inspector. Copy and paste the address, or drag the URL into the field to make sure you got it right.

I have been trying to update the software on my nephews ipod. It updated, asked me to sign in etc, said ipod was set up and ready to use, click to 'start using', then it briefly shows home screen the goes back to apple logo screen and asks me to sign in all over again. Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)

Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

Then try restoring on another computer.

How can I skip pages going back and forward?

I would like to be able to skip over pages instead of just going back one page at a time. I know it can be done because I just did it accidentally. A list popped up with all the previous pages I had visited.

Right-click on either of the back or forward buttons. old links at the bottom, newer links piled on top

Inserting Hyperlinks in Pages Documents

I am writing a document in Pages with the intent of posting it at blogsite where I have editing privileges. I cannot, however, figure out how to highlight a portion of the text and link that text to a URL address. Can this be done with Pages?

Here is what is occurring when I attempt to insert a hyperlink in a Pages document:
1. When I click on the Inspector button and check the hyperlink box the following URL address appears (as though it were a default) http://livepage.apple.com/
2. This URL address will also appear in the Pages document that I am working on. I then have to return to the document and remove this URL address before continuing.
3. If I delete this particular URL address from the Link Box and paste in the URL address I want, the highlighted text in the document appears with a rectangular shaped box around the words I want hyperlinked but there is no link established.
4. These events are all quite puzzling because I had assumed that inserting a hyperlink was a fairly easy process. I looked in the Pages' Help section to verify my understanding before I even made my initial attempt to insert a hyperlink. After continually failing to do so, I posted a message that Dennis was kind enough to respond to but I am still pretty much stuck.

No. Unsupported in any version of Pages v5. If you previously had Pages ’09 v4 installed, it would have been moved into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. There is your ability to link to other Pages documents.

All hyperlinks in pages doc lead to apple start page

All hyperlinks in my doc have defaulted to http://www.apple.com/startpage/ Anyone else have this problem, and is it curable?

Ignore Apple's Help instructions. They are wrong.
1) Create Bookmarks in the usual way: Select text, go to Link Inspector, click Bookmarks, click +
2)Select the hyperlink text, go to the Link Inspector, click Hyperlink, check enable..., SCROLL THE DROPDOWN MENU IN THE "Link To" BOX (it shows "Webpage") until you reach "Bookmark", Now the URL box below will show "Name", scroll down its dropdown menu until you reach your bookmark.

My 3rd generation ipod wont start up anymore first u see the white apple than whole screem turn up white and it goes back to apple

i have an ipod touch 3rd generation when i put it in the charger (computer or wall charger)
and wait till te apple pop up it first stay for like 1 minut on the apple than the whole screen turn white and it goes again on the apple
it would be terrific if someone has a selution for this (sorry for my bad english if i made any wrongs)

If restoring doesn't help, sounds like it might be time for a new battery.

Help! only apple logo is showing... every once and awhile it stoips and goes away like its trying to work; then goes back to apple sign againnnnn!!!!

my cousin has a 2 or 3g apple ipod.
okay so today my cousin told me that at 11:00 today she downloaded 2 apps: twitter and a weemee one. she was playing on normal apps after the 2 downloaded adn her ipod just randomly shut off. she thought it needed to chargfe, so she plugged it in. for the rest of the day it did not turn on and gave the apple logo. shes tried to reset it, but it hasnt worked. ive come to the conclusion that this theapps werent the problem, because me and her sister both have the same apps. my cousin who has the issue has a 3rd generation ipod touch. and she also stated the apps werernt the problem because approximately an hour before she downloaded the apps, her emails got wacked. when she clicked on the email app, it only showed a peculiar date: 12/31/00 and nothing else. she plugged it into a laptop when she got home, and it asked her if she wanted to update it, however it would lose her data. she clicked yes anyways, not sure what it had to do. she found ou that it lost all of her data, songs, apps and everything, and replaced it with the ipod 4th generation starter apps (facetime, camera, game center, etc.) and she cant use them because she doesnt have the 4th generation ipod.? howand why did this happen and how can yopu resolve it ASAP? thanks. all answers appreciated:)

I would try placing the iPod in DFU mode and then restoring the iPod to factoery defaults/new iPod.

Taking Z1 back to shops!! going back to Apple: Sony Bridge for Mac does not work

Been an Iphone owner. really, really wanted to try a good android phone, and the z1 looked the best. However
I have had the most frustrating experience- this junky bridge software looks slick but it simply does not work on a mac .
I have spent nearly a week mucking around on forums, reading technical 'get arounds' this is a £600 phone and its not good enough. It might be Apples fault for being so locked down, but sony should not claim it works when it has so many issues.
1) it spent 3 days trying to load my media. It eventually got stuck on 10 min remaining. I pulled the cable.
no contacts had even been added, however 1/2 the photos have, but they are a little jumbled up from when they were on my iphone.
2) i try to download the lastest sony for Mac update 3 times- it cant even do this and gets stuck
3) i then try to update the z1 with the latest software, again this also it gets stuck and hangs. OMG how can i update my software, do i have to buy a PC to go with the phone.
im annoyed now and cant play with my new phone
4) connect phone again and just ask it to do my notes, messages and contacts. This seems to work , but all the messages to my Girfriend are completley missing?? why?
5) i try to load a few folders, the pictures on the bridge pop up window seem to freeze , ai cant even drag these across, the same happens with my music
6) i have a lot of photos on my mac form my iphone 3000. If i choose to load them it only allows me to load all of them and not browse.
can i avoid bridge and view my z1 as a drive? also why wont any of the software update?
the next thing is it seems to have infected teh mac, the new version f itunes will not install correctly!! this is very unusual.
some one please helpme before i rant in my blog!

I apologize for the late answer. I'm sorry you haven't had a pleasant experience using Bridge. We are aware of the problems you mention and are working on it. As mentioned, you can connect your phone in MSC (mass storage mode). To do this, disconnect the phone, find USB connectivity settings and set it to MSC mode before plugging it in again.

Best Method for Destroying Data on the Drive Before it Goes Back to Apple

As the subject suggests....any ideas....i'd like to 'shred' the whole drive and clean install without any personal info on it.

Run Disk Utility from the installation DVD and erase the drive with the option to write zeros. Once is fine although if you're paranoid you can choose a multiple pass option.
Also, I would subsequently install Mac OS X on to so you can start it up if required.

I need to disable the delete key from going back a page.

My son is doing online homeschooling. If he is taking a quiz and accidentally hits the delete key to correct a word in his answer the page goes back and he is kicked out of the quiz. I need to disable this function in Safari to protect him from this. Please help.

Possibly http://www.hotkey.com. You can assign Command + Backspace as a shortcut for Delete.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If I have a prob, within my warranty of 1 year, can I take it back to the shop, will they then send it to Apple for repair?
Maybe. It's up to them and their policy.
They may try to Restore it.
If it is an actual repair (they have to take it apart) it goes back to Apple.
