Insert images in report
Hello everybody.
Im developing with designer Forms & Reports 10G R 2
My question is next
I need include images , stored in a table like BLOB item, into a report, BUT, I dont know in what moment of print, or in what part I must print it, I know that I must print, and where in the paper, when the report is running.
It can come at begining, middle, or bottom part of paper, or not come, or come in another page.
Any help?
Thanks in advanced for all & regards everybody.
Thanks Andrea for your answer.
I explain, the user can choice some, 5 or 6, diferents text to print and also can choice some, 1 or 2 images to print.
The order to print is choice by user, by example the text number 2,8,1 are printed in 1º, 2º and 3º secuence, after print image , after print text 1,4, after print another image and so on.
So there is not predefined orders for nothing.
Thanks again & regards.

Hi,
I am trying to dynamically insert icons in my template. The icon paths are provided by the XML data definition via the <?Item_icon> field.
It doesnt work if I write a syntax like:
<fo:external-graphic src="url(Item_icon)" />
However, the syntax works if I do not use fields:
<fo:external-graphic src="url('D:\icon1.gif')" />
Is there a way to dynamically insert images in my report?
Thank you
MagdaThe image works if I use $OA_MEDIA or a public URL. I cannot have signature files sitting in a public directory or a public URL.
How do you secure your signatures? The images have to sit on the server in a non-public directory but be accessible to the XML publisher process. What can I do to enable this access? -
Inserting images in Crystal Reports
Hello,
I have two questions regarding the use of pictures in a Crystal report :
1. Is there a maximum dpi resolution limit for pictures to be inserted in a Crystal Reports.
2. Is there a way to control the PDF output picture quality ? When exporting to PDF, the quality of the picture is reduced.
Thank you
AnthonyI have the following questions about inserting images into Crystal Reports:
1. Can the images be positioned horizontally?
2. When there is more that one image attached to a database record, can the number of images be limited in the report?
(For example, limit the number of images for each record to two.)
3. If there is more than one page to a record, how can the image for the record be suppressed on all pages subsequent to the first page of the report?
4. If there is no image attached to the database record, how the space reserved for the image closed up?
Thank you. -
HI
how we can insert an image in Reports for webi documentsThat feature wasn't available nor was it supported in CR 10. You'll have to upgrade to CR Xi R2 or 2008 to allow using a database field as the location of the file.
CR 10 would only load the picture when the report is opened, it will never update when clicking on the refresh button. -
SCN document: 'Insert Image' greyed out at a certain stage/size
I noticed a similar issue likeTammy has reported in discussion/thread .Cannot insert or upload an image
After having inserted text and several images to a draft document, the 'Insert Image' icon became greyed out at a certain stage/size.
I did some tests following document Solution for Error: Cannot Insert Images on SCN Content, but the the behavior remained the same. Only after having deleted the last inserted image in the document > Save Draft > Edit again the 'Insert Image' icon was not greyed out anymore which is argueing for a size restriction.
The same html coding as in the document put into a blog does not grey out the ‘Insert Image’ icon. But I found out that after clicking on the ‘Insert Image’ icon > ‘From your Computer’ tab ‘Browse’ is greyed out. Strange and argueing against a size limit is, when I choose ‘Uploaded Images’ I can select images and still insert them into the blog.
Does someone have similar experiences / can assist.
Thank you, BarbaraWe have a recent discussion in SCN support.
He has same problem. Have a look into the discussion Issue with 'Insert Image' button while creating document in SCN
I suggest to split you document into two part as part 1 and part 2. -
I'm new to CF Report Builder and having trouble determining
how to get a dynamic image to display in the detail band. The query
for the report correctly returns the image file name, but the
following expression doesn't display the image although the path is
correct.
IIf(query.image NEQ "", DE("../images/smProds/" &
query.image), DE("None"))
When I run the report, I get just .. in the space where the
image should display if one is available and the text "None" if the
field is empty. I found a tutorial on Report Builder that suggested
using similar code, but it didn't provide an actual example. Using
their code produced the same lack of results.
I've tried various versions of this with no success yet. Am I
missing something about how to include an image in the report? A
static image in the report uses the same basic path information. Of
course that image name and path aren't being generated from an
expression, it is just an inserted image and it shows up in the
header and footer bands as expected.
Thanks for any guidance.Thanks for the response. Sadly yes, the path is correct. I've
tried both the relative path and the full path (e.g.
../images/theimage.jpg and
http://mysite.com/images/theimage.jpg)
. Putting either address into a browser will return the correct
image if I'm in the right location.
So, I can get this expression: IIf(query.image NEQ "",
DE("../images/smProds/" & query.image), DE("None")) to display
the correct path, but what I really need is the image located at
that spot to display in the report. What is happening is that
report builder is returning the string, but not the image. When I
looked at the tutorial it implied that the image would be displayed
rather than the string.
Is there something in report builder that determines whether
the actual image is displayed? A property setting that I'm missing?
Or maybe the expression iteself is wrong i.e. it is doing exactly
what it should (display the string) and a different expression
format is required to get the image iteself. For example, flagging
some text as a hyperlink to the image? Not sure how you would pass
the image name value in that case.
Appreciate your suggestions. -
Inserting images in OS independant way
Hi All,
I have a report which has few bmp files on boilerplates. The development(9iDS-902 R2) goes on in Win2K machines. While inserting images from local disks, the reports builder requires the path of the file to be present. The final deployment of the report is supposed to be done on a linux based installation (10g AS). Obviously the path is not going to help me.
I'm looking for ways by which I can attach the image without dependancy on the path (something similar to how we attach a library in forms). Please suggest.
The report is supposed to be launched from a form (using run_report_object) running on the same machine. The report server is running as external server.
Thanks and regards,
Kinjal SonpalI am having the same problem, the development is done in windows environment and deployed to unix server. The image path is pulled from the database, but how do I avoid getting a REP-0108 file not found when the procedure brings back the unix path. Is there a way for the package or reports to tell which OS is running and use the relevant path stle \folder\folder\ or c:\folder\

Report images in Report Viewer are shown in original size
I have a strange problem with embedded report images. I have inserted few images to report and set their size to FitProprtional. When I run the report in BIDS (VS 2008) the rendered image is shown as it is supposed. When I install the report to CRM
2013 Online environment and run the report the report viewer shows the images in original size. But when the report is exported to PDF or Word the images are displayed the size I want them to be shown. Good thing is that the reports are ment to be used as
printed, but it is quite annoying to the users when they preview the reports in report viewer.
Cheers,
PeteAny ideas to this?

Good day!
I'm just new with using databases, and i'm enjoying it.
So I read that you can insert images to a table, and so i decided to try it... and here's where I'm at..
*I made a directory
CREATE directory image_dir as 'D:\Images';
--Directory Created.
*I created a table
CREATE TABLE animages
(aname VARCHAR2(40),
breedno NUMBER(10),
image_file BLOB,
image_name VARCHAR2(40),
CONSTRAINT aname_fk FOREIGN KEY (aname) REFERENCES clist(aname));
--Table Created.
*Then I made a procedure for inserting the images
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE insert_image_file (p_aname VARCHAR2, p_breedno NUMBER, p_image_name IN VARCHAR2)
IS
src_file BFILE;
dst_file BLOB;
lgh_file BINARY_INTEGER;
BEGIN
src_file := BFILENAME('IMAGE_DIR', p_image_name);
INSERT INTO animages
(aname, breedno, image_file, image_name)
VALUES (p_aname, p_breedno, EMPTY_BLOB(), p_image_name)
RETURNING image_file
INTO dst_file;
SELECT image_file
INTO dst_file
FROM animages
WHERE aname = p_aname AND image_name = p_image_name
FOR UPDATE;
DBMS_LOB.fileopen(src_file, DBMS_LOB.file_readonly);
lgh_file := DBMS_LOB.getlength(src_file);
DBMS_LOB.loadfromfile(dst_file, src_file, lgh_file);
UPDATE animages
SET image_file = dst_file
WHERE aname = p_aname AND image_name = p_image_name;
DBMS_LOB.fileclose(src_file);
END;
--Procedure Created.
*So i was able to do those but when i was trying to execute the procedure i get this error..
execute insert_image_file('African Elephant', 60, 'African_Elephant');
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed
The device is not ready.
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOB", line 523
ORA-06512: at "SCOTT.INSERT_IMAGE_FILE", line 18
ORA-06512: at line 1
I've been looking for a solution for a day now, hope someone could help me, thanks.
BTW, I got the code for the PROCEDURE from a user named Aparna16, just did some minor editing so it would fit my tables, thanks.
And sorry if the post is too long.Hi;
ORA-22288:Error: ORA-22288

ReportBuilder. Centering image in Report
Hello everybody,
I need help in centering image in Report.
Thanks
http://firebird-vbnet.blogspot.com/Hi giovannigiorgio,
According to your description that you want to know how to centering an image in ReportBuilder, right?
Before centering the image, we should be clear about some of the position related properties, only after we have done the proper setting of them can we be able to make the image to display in the center of the page.
For physical page renderers, it's important to keep in mind the concept of Usable Area. The Usable Area is the amount of space left on a page for your report to be drawn after reserving space for margins, headers and footers, and column spacing (for
multi-column reports).
Horizontal usable area:
X = Page.Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin)
Vertical usable area:
Y = Page.Height - (Top Margin + Bottom Margin + Header Height + Footer Height)
I suppose there is only image in the page. Please following the steps below to check all the related properties of size and center the image.
Right click on Report area and select the Report Properties
Make a note of the values for Page width(8.5), Page Height(11in), Left margin(1in), Right margin(1in),Top margin(1in),Bottom margin(1in)
Close and go back to the design surface and in the Properties window, select Body
Click the + symbol to expand the Size node and do setting as below:
Body Width <=Page width- Left margin -Right margin(Body Width <=6.5)
Body Height <=Page Height- Top margin -Bottom margin-Header Height-FooterHeight(Body Height <=11-1-1-1-1=7)
Right click the body area to insert an image and in the Image properties window select the size and check the “fit to size”
the image will fit the size of the image item, we can set the position(Location and size) properties to determine the display of the image now
In the Image properties, Set the value for position(Location and size) (according to the best Resolution of image to set the values of the location):
Location left = (Body Width – Width of Image) /2 (Location left =(6.5-4.5)/2)
Location Top =(Body Height – Height of Image) /2 (Location Top =(7-5) /2)
If the page both include the image and the table, we should also consider the size of the table(Column Spacing in the width and Row Spacing in the height).

Hi
If I open example: header.php and insert any photo jpeg/.html ecs i can see the images in the split screen but not in the browser if i save then refresh. I am able to make any change to the code ecs. and they are reflected just fine. I have tried this with my fireworks images .html and when that did not work i tried a strait jpeg off the desktop. This all did not work. I have deleted the local server then step by step created a new one via devnet instruction. This did not work! everything looks fine i even tried in 3 sep browsers with 0 luck....There is no remote server connected at this time because i am making a child theme for my current site. After all changes are done we will the ftp the word press files to site and change.
Ps i even started over from scratch with 0 positive affects....After a lot of pain!!!!!!! the issue is fixed lol After 3 weeks I have overlooked the obvious !!! so the simple fix was the path of the image. Yes i feel stupid 10 years in lol....
Apparently dreamweaver cs 5 will not use the full path when inserting images into the page example: If you drag the image out of your assets folder or however you do it, DW will give you a path like this <img src="images/glass.jpg" width="800" height="729"> This is not the full path and when your pist!!! you cant see things like that ;( so the image path should look like this:
<img src="wp-content/themes/adszoom/images/glass.jpg" width="800" height="729">
also in the html files example of bad then good!
