Insert Water mark on current document

I have some documents that I want to insert a watermark on them behind the text.
A simple diagonal faded red OVERDUE or COPY across the page behind the text.
In MS Word this was quick and easy. I cant find a way to do this in Pages. I tried a Help search and it brings up some stuff about floating and inline objects, but nothing that obviously seems to help in creating a watermark
Anyone know if Pages can do this?
Thanks
Neil

WP mode or layout mode....do not know it says Word Processing at the top of the document so I assume WP mode. This is an existing document.
I created the text box and put in the text.
I can drag the text box edges, and that resizes the box, but not the text, so I have to get out of that and hit the fonts button and enter numbers to expand the text size manually, then re position the box, change the text size, possibly change the text box size again, etc.
I want to expand the text to a size that fills the page, and at an angle that just looks correct. Is there a way to grab the edge of the text box and drag it so that it expands the text and changes its angle by dragging without having to use the clumsy inspector way of doing it. I want the text to auto fill/fit in the box and then drag the handles of the box to fit it to the page.
I eventually created a watermark that looked correct and did
+Menu > Format > Advanced > Move object to section master+
but now when printed it does not look correct and I need to change it. How do I get back to it to edit it again? I cant seem to select it again. I would appear I need to access the 'Section master' since that is where the object is moved to.
The Sections icon in the toolbar is greyed out and after reading through the help on Sections I cant seem how to do it.
This is far harder to learn that I imagined it would be. In Word this is a menu item, Format, Background, Insert Printed Water Mark, you type your text and in it goes, sized and fitted per page. This is v. difficult in comparison. Will send feedback and put in a feature request
Anyway, thanks to your help at least I am getting it done.

I have two queries regarding Illustrator:

    2) I have sent material to our priting house for new envelopes but they stress that marks are missing in the corners. How do I insert such marks?
I use Illustrator CS3 v.13.0.2 with Windows XP on a HP XW4400 Workstation.

Select all the spot colours in the Swatches panel and choose "Swatch Options" from the flyout menu. Make the swatches Process instead of Spot.
If the artboard is the sized to your desired trim you should not have to do this. Still, you can go to Objext > Crop Area > Make and crop marks will be drawn corresponding to the corners of the artboard. If your artboard does not match the trim area make a rectangle for the envelope first, then use the same command. This will convert the rectangle to trim marks.

  • Current Document Metadata insertion into Current Document

Help!!  I need to place 'current document' metadata (not a placed photo, for instance) into the current document.  I have been able to place the "File Name" into the current file and that works great.  But I want to now place current file metadata, like 'Description' into the current file.  How do I do this - is it from "Text Variables" and how?

I know where it is (in File Info).  My questions is:  "How do I place 'Current Document' information into the Current Document?
EXAMPLE:  open up  a text field anywhere in the document.  then, have InDesign place into that text field information about the current document - "Description" for instance, from the Current Document Metadata.

Time to engage in basic debugging. Alter your script to remove all the extra steps and generate logs as it goes along, then gradually re-enable each part so you can work out where it's bombing out. It doesn't sound like a problem with Reader itself, and as Claudio says we're not here to provide support for non-Adobe software.

While editing a scanned pdf, Acrobat will not recognize the current font & change to very different font. How can I choose the font I want to match the current document?

Thanks for answering. The version is XI.0.10. I just did the update yesterday hoping that I could now properly edit a scanned pdf document. Yes, it's happening on most all scanned documents. I followed your steps & found the list of fonts used in the document & then attempted to edit. The same occurs. When I type in a correction, I get an error alert... "the original font (in this case Fd 5805) is not available or can't be used in editing. Acrobat is using the font Minion Pro in its place."
When I select the text & right click as you suggested, my only choices are cut, copy, delete or select all, no "edit text".
I have no other options to choose another font. Thanks for any help you can direct my way.

  • Lion Preview can't delete or insert pages to a PDF document

I have the following problem: I open a PDF file in preview. I delete some pages as I used to in snow leopard. Then I save it. The document's page count changes to the correct number in the window title bar. However, if I open the saved version after closing the current window I see that nothing is saved at all! The same thing happens when I try to insert pages to a PDF document. Looks like everything is fine, but when I close and reopen the document no changes are saved. The weird thing is file is modified, i.e. preview saves something but not my changes. It just re-saves the original document.

NUMACER's answer worked for me as well guys ! Didn't need to save a version, it just keeps it like that. I tried saving a version which saved on the same file instead of creating a new one (i know that since I saw the "Last modified" thing being updated at the same time) !
    Thanks Numacer

  • How to insert a page within a document

I need to insert an additional page within a document without reformatting my layout.
    How do I do that?
--- So far "Insert" > "sections" > "text page or blank" puts the additional page at the end of the doument.
    Tips anyone?
    (Pages 09 version 4.3)

    Luanne,
When you Insert a Section from the Add Section tool or the Insert Menu, the new section will be inserted directly after the current section, the section that the Insertion Cursor is in, or the Section Selected in the Thumbnails pane.
You can't insert a new section in the middle of an existing section, so it goes at the end of a 1-section document, which is what I would guess you have, a 1-section document. What you probably should do is insert a Section Break at the point where yiu want to add a section or page. Or forget about adding a Section and just Insert a Page Break there.

    Regards,

    Hi,
There are services in Content Server that will allow you to create revisions of existing items. For example, CHECKIN_UNIVERSAL service will check in a new revision of an item if that Content ID already exists. You can also checkout a document if needed using the CHECKOUT service. Please refer to the services reference guide for more details (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e11011/toc.htm).
    Regarding conversion and watermarking...
You don't have to call a service to convert or watermark a document. These features have to be configured on the server. If you configure the content server to convert Word documents to PDF, then whenever a Word document is checked in, the content server will automatically convert it to PDF. In addition, if you have PDFWatermarking enabled and configured, watermarks will be applied automatically as well. All you have to do is ensure the product is configured correctly for the formats you want, and then check in the document. When you retrieve a document (using the GET_FILE service for example), you can ask for the PDF version by passing additional parameters.
Please review the Application Administrators Guide (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e10978/toc.htm) for info on enabling and configuring PDF Watermarking.
The doc links referenced above are for UCM 11g. The same docs are available for 10gR3 at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10316_01/ouc.htm.

  • Emailing persistent link to the current document version.

I did not find a suitable answer by searching previous posts.
We are working on a document transmittal workflow. This will email to a user, links to documents stored in a SharePoint document library. A requirement is to use out of the box features.
If the document is an old version I use the link format
http://site/_vti_history/UIVersion/Document Library/doc.doc. This works well as it always points to that version of the document.
However the above format does not work when referencing the current version of the document, even if I know the document UIversion to plug into the above URL. The link has to be
     http://site/Version/Document Library/doc.doc
The problem is when a link to the current version of the document is emailed and then the document is changed in SharePoint.
The email will no longer point to the version intended but rather the ‘new’ latest version. I need the link to open the correct document version.
What I need is a persistent link to any version of a document whether the current version or an old one and to generate that at the time the email is created.
However I cannot see a way to do this. Any help would be appreciated.
Our current work around is to clone the document to artificially create an old version which can then be referenced. However this is not desirable.
    Thanks Richard

    Hi Richard,
I'm afriad that it is impossible to modify the current document url(canonical path) to the last history version document url(revision path) in the workflow mail has been sent after the new current document(canonical path) generates.
The canonical path document will always points to the lastest current version document, the persistent link of revision path document will only be available after the newer current canonical path document generates, and the revision path in workflow
mail will not be available for the curent document item, this is how SharePoint version history works, you can read the following article.
As a workaround, you may clone the document as you have done, or you may send the all the current version document information and the current document attachment in workflow mail as a snapshot for that time of triggering the workflow.

  • Remove print only water mark

Create a pdf and then goto to the document menu and select add water mark. Set the water mark to only show when the document is printed. Add some text for the water mark. Save your document and close it.
Now open it backup and do a print preview. You should see the water mark in the preview. Cancel the print. Look at the document on the screen. You should not see the water mark when viewing on the screen. This all works.
Now how do you remove the watermark? There is no option for removing the print only watermark.

This assumes that you have the ability to edit the document.
    Go to Advanced>PDF Optimizer...
Select "Discard Objects" from the left window panel
In the "Discard Objects Settings" select the check box "Discard all comments and form widgets"
    Click the OK button
Rename the PDF to something else
    Click the Save button.
    Cheers!

  • Why does water mark text becomes invisible?

I have a pdf document with a water mark text on the top of its first page.
The text is visible when opening the document in a Acrobat Reader version 5 and 6 but its transparent when using Acrobat Reader of higher versions (I still can mark it and copy the text).
Do you have any idea why its happening and how to fix it?
    Thanks for your help.

You probably need to talk to the makers of the virtual printer. It
might even be working as designed...

  • High water mark

what is high water mark iin oracle all about. secondly what type of PL/SQL is describe dbms_start

High Water Mark is all about knowing what table storage is used and what table storage is free. Blocks stored below the high water mark may be full, but if not they should be considered for use when inserting or updating records. On the other hand, blocks below the high water mark also need to be inspected during a full-table-scan query whether they are empty or not.
DESCRIBE is not PL/SQL. It is a SQLPlus command used to show the API of a table or a procedure. Described [sic] in the SQLPlus reference manual at http://tahiti.oracle.com

  • Why high water mark?

    Hi,
These days I am always thinkin' about a question that why Oracle introduces high water mark.
I've found some documents describing this concept, but I still can't make out what's the advantage of the high water mark.
If someone could tell me, I will be very appreciated!

Jaffythanks Jaffy, I think I can accept this answer, maybe Oracle takes FTS from HWM as a safe way.

The blocks are in use. The table is a complex data structure, it is not a fifo/lifo queue or
anything like that -- it is a big old heap. Once used -- implies "could still be used".
