Hi Friends,
In planning folder, change mode level at varible selections, if u right click system prompts one context menu. In that Insert with overwrite option is there? what is significance of this?

Hi,
I think your variable is user entry enabled. This option "Insert with overwrite" will overwrite the existing value defined for a particular user.
If you dont got for this option the new entry will append an additional value for the variable.
You will find the difference when you check the variable in your Info Area.

Problem with "Insert" and "Overwrite Sequence Content"

I'm working with XDCAM footage. I like to take all the individual clips recorded on the XDCAM disc, and after getting them into FCP, taking them and putting them all in a sequence in FCP, then using that sequence as the source in the Viewer. This allows for quick scanning of all the clips, much as is it were a digitized tape.
I recently found the "Insert Sequence Content" and "Overwrite Sequence Content" commands in FCP, and like them in that they actually put the individual clips into my project timeline, and not just the combined sequence (which looks more or less like a nest when dropped into my project sequence).
Here's the problem: When I put IN and OUT points in the timeline, and "Insert or Overwrite Sequence Content" using the sequence containing all the clips, the video tends to be contained to between the IN and OUT points I set in the TIMELINE, but the audio tracks tend to expand past the OUT point I set in the TIMELINE, and I can't figure out why, or how to get around this.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

If you're inserting or overwriting, you're basically pasting the content that you've chosen. I wouldn't think the out point would be recognized, or even wanted. If you copied 5 minutes of clips and inserted it into a sequence with a 4 minute in/out point duration, do you want to only have the first 4 minutes inserted into the sequence? If you only place an in point, it will insert all the clips, starting at that point, and it will take up as much time as the clip content's duration.
Am I missing something here?

PLEASE HELP. my 2007 macbook will not accept the reinstall disc mac os x 10.4.9 after i erased everything. the screen is grey with a flashing folder with ? on it. what can i do to fix it?

i erased everything from my macbook and try to reinstall the MAC os x 10.4.9. but now when i restart my computer the screen is grey with a file folder marked with a "?" flashing. when the dics is already already inserted and i restart it, regardless if i hold down the "c" or "d" key with rebooting, the disc is automatically ejected and then it goes back to the grey screen with the flashing "? folder".
if i was to try and reinstall the "for mac computers" os x 10.5.4 the computer will load the disc and bring me to the language select menu but as soon as i click the "next" button it tells me that the software is not able to be installed on that computer.
i have no clue what to do. the computer was working COMPLETELY fine before i erased something.

Yikes, what happens or shows if you hold the Option or alt key on bootup?
The 10.5.4 Disc at least sounds like a Gray Machine specific Disk, or wrong Partition Scheme!???
Does that one allow Disk Utility to run?
Did you Erase to GUID?

Hi,
I want to download plng folder output which is in ALV layout to excel. SAP given few options, used option: Excel(in MHTML) format. Next ALV data downloaded to MHTML link in browser. I copied table format contents of MHTML link and opened excel for copying.
Now able to see contents in excel. What user asks is he wants to direclty download to excel without going to MHTML link, copy & then paste into excel.
One more question, one more option for download: Excel(in existing XXL format). I tried with this, system asking for title name: i provided one name and pressed enter button. Where that documents goes? System say SAPoffice. What is the path for. But i found one option, for SAPoffice settings in SAP's business workplace.

That means your iMac could not find a system to use for startup. That may mean the internal hard drive has become faulty, or the hard drive mechanism is fine, but the startup volume ("Macintosh HD" unless you renamed it) may have some type of data corruption that makes it unbootable.
First, you should try resetting PRAM

and if that does not help, use this procedure to reset SMC (power management). If your iMac is from 2008, this is the procedure for Intel (not PowerPC) Macs.

Disconnect all peripheral devices. When you connect it back to power, if you have been using a power strip of some type, try connecting it directly to a wall outlet, by itself (at least initially). Start up with nothing but the power cord connected, then add only standard mouse and keyboard. If it works, run it that way for a while.
If PRAM and SMC reset have no effect, you should insert your Mac OS X installation disc (for the currently installed system) in the optical drive, and restart with the C key held down. This should get you to the Installer screen, where you can run Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
In Disk Utility, does the internal hard drive appear in the sidebar? If so, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar and go to the First Aid tab. Use Repair Disk. If an error is found, note if Disk Utility was able to fix it or not.
You can then quit Disk Utility and attempt to restart normally.

Help! Ipod nano with exclamation point folder icon.

My ipod nano (1st gen) showed a folder icon with exclamation point after an unsuccessful sycronization. Then the ipod didn't work anymore. I tried several times to use the reset method mentioned here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61003 without any success. Basically, after I force it into disk mode, my computer still did not recognize it and asked me to insert the disk (when click with right button).
Since I bought it more than one year ago, the warranty has expired. So return it to apple is probably not a viable option. I am wondering whether there is anything else I can to to fix the problem? Does anybody know what kind of problem it might be, hardware problem or just the software screwed.

In my opinion, iPod with exclmation mark folder icon means a corrupted OS with an iPod.
. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
Tips
a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iTunes 7.
b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”

Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool”.

INSERTROWEXISTS WITH OVERWRITE EXCLUDING FIELDS

I have a replicat set to set a field to '1' if is a deleted record, which updates it instead of actually deleting. Then the same record could come in again as an insert. I have set these records using resolveconflict to update with overwrite. But I have a insert_datetime field that I do not want overwritten. So I have the statement written to overwrite - like this.
RESOLVECONFLICT(INSERTROWEXISTS, (max_res_method, USEMAX (mill_UPDATEDATETIME), COLS (mill_updatedattime, col1, col2, col3, col4)),
(DEFAULT, IGNORE)),
so this overwrites all fields in the table except the insert_datetime filed which is ignored because it is not in the COLS list.
Is there a way to do the opposit. Overwrite ALL fields EXCEPT insert_datetime without typing out all the field names?

- Delete all the fields which needs to be excluded
- Write the logic to build the internal table dynamically with the remaining fields.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

servers to execute. Its just that it sticks on to only one instance of a 2 node RAC. The code I
used is what is given below.

Everytime I open Safari on my MacBook Pro a pop-up window from my Finder menu, with the Applications highlighted on the left in the favorites column with the Resources folder highlighted comes up and locks my Safari page until I manually close the Resources window then I have to refresh the internet search address line at the top of Safari. Can someone tell me how to stop this. It started after a software upgrade. It didn’t do that before. Thank you.

A few thoughts for diagnosis/testing purposes:
Have you recently run the disk utility and repaired HD and permissions? If not do so.
Boot into the Safe mode - hold down shift key on boot - and see if the problems are still there. Some functions won't work but see if anything odd happens.
Check your startup items. Get rid of them temporarily.
Create a new user account and see if the problems occur with the new account.
Lastly, be sure your backup is up-to-date.

Normally the question mark on the gray screen means it can't find the operating system. Have you tried booting up from the installation DVD? Do that, and when you come to the screen where it wants to begin a system installation you'll notice in the menubar where it say's utilites. Click on that and choose disk utility. from there choose your disk and try to verify and repair the disk. If you can you may want to also try and new install of the system. I don't know how much critical data you have, but reinstalling is an option. did you purcahse you from an Apple store? If you did you may want them to look at it. Hope this helps.

Insert or overwrite inserts BLANK in the timeline

I am trying to do a basic 3 point edit. Open the clip in Source monitor, set I, O and then when i use the shortcuts "," or "." it just inserts a BLANK GAP??? If i drag the clip, it works just fine. ANy idea why? I use Premiere CS6.

My Mac book pro turns on with a grey screen with a blinking folder question mark. Help!

My bag carrying my computer fell on the ground as I was entering a cab. I checked my computer immediately for damage and it seemed to work fine. After about an two hours, I went back to my computer and it had a black screen and was getting very hot. I held the power button down and it restarted only to have a grey screen with a blinking folder + a question mark. I've already looked on the forums, and I don't have the CDs with me as I am traveling, and I don't have much backed up.
I appreciate any advice provided.
