Inserted jpeg-file disappears

I have inserted a jpeg-file in my movie-frame, it works fine when I run the movie 3-4 times, then the file disappears from the movie-frame. Why? And how do I prevent that from happening?

I think I have followed yor steps but I can not get this to work. This is how I do:
1)I have the original movie and a seperate jpeg-file which I copy and insert in the movie-frame and put it where I want it in the frame. This is no problem.
2)Then I use the "save as" and save the movie with a new name and as "self-contained movie".
Even after doing this 2-3 times it does not work. The Movie Properties "Resources" tab still shows that I have more than one file even if I resaved the movie. What did I do wrong?

  • Bridge CS3 not writing metadata to JPEG files

For the last couple of months (without my noticing until a couple days ago) all JPEG files that I have edited using Bridge CS3 (on Windows XP) do not have the metadata built into the file. Here are the symptoms: use "File Info" to edit the metadata for a JPEG file (i.e. add a title, description, copyright info, etc.), all appears normal, but if you do any of the following, the metadata you entered disappears:
    - duplicate (the metadata does not exist in the duplicate file)
    - move or copy to another folder
    - open in Photoshop or any other software that can read metadata (File Info shows none of the metadata you entered)
    - rebuild the cache for the folder
Strangely, the metadata still appears with the file when you look at it in Bridge as long as you don't do any of the above.
This is really awful as I've put a lot of time into entering this metadata for hundreds of files. Older files (pre-Nov 08) don't have this problem and the metadata is "sticky" and doesn't get deleted. So, somehow my Bridge CS3 got corrupted along the way.
Has anyone experienced this and more importantly -- do you have a solution? I've tried reseting all Bridge settings (but that of course purged the cache and deleted all my metadata.)

    Hey,
There are various date/time fields shown in properties panel in Organizer. The dates mentioned in general section are read from OS whereas the dates in EXIF field are read from image's EXIF data. In EXIF data there are three date/time fields-
    1. Date time- This date/time info shows date modified of EXIF properties. So when you are writing a tag into imags's IPTC, you are doing some change in EXIF data. Hence this date should change to date when you are writing a tag into IPTC.
    2. Date time original - Represents date time when a image was shoot.
    3. Date digitized - Represents the date when the image was digitized (in digital camers there is hardly some delay between an image is shoot and it is digitized. So this field is always same as date original).
So, in your scenario, Date time in EXIF should change whenever you are writing any tag into its IPTC.
Please let me know if you need more info on it.

How to convert jpeg files into Word

    Hi Eugene,
I don't think you can convert an image to a Word document, but you could place the JPEG into a Word document using the Insert > Object command in Word.
For other questions relating to Word, you will probably have more luck getting an answer if you post on the Microsoft forums (we can help if you're using Acrobat, or another Adobe product, but you'll find the Word experts on the Microsoft forums.)

  • Inserting jpegs into word2010 documents

I have just been through a long seige with Microsoft TS (which cost me 39 bucks) about the fact that I cannot import  images into a word 2010 document. They comes in as  black rectangles.  I can import images from my HP scanner, from the WEB, from screenshots, etc, but any images that was formatted in Lightroom or Nikon NX come in as a black rectangles.  That includes JPG and TIFF.  The only suggestion I could get from Microsoft was that I should be using software other than Adobe.   The other weird thing is that word2010 works properly on my laptop.  Both machines are Dell W7, 64bit.

I normally import images from NEF to DNG to a Lightroom catalog on my photoarchive on an external HD.  Once I have finished processing and organizing them, I export selected images as JPG at appropriate sizes to appropriate directories on the internal HD on my computer.   I no longer do many newsletter publication type things, but I just tried one in which I typed a body of text with word2010 (just installed, and working fine for most other things).  However, when I tried to use Word's "insert>picture" capability, referenced to the appropriate JPG image file on the HD, the low resolution JPG images come in as black rectangles, no matter what the image size.  I fought it for several days--once in a while the image would come in properly, and immediately turn black.  The extra weird thing is that Word2010 works fine on my laptop.  I can import the same JPG images over my (wired) network from my desktop to the document on the laptop, no problem, but if I then send the resulting properly-formatted document from the laptop back to the desktop, the images will turn black when they hit the desktop.  The only way I can do the illustrated newsletter thingy is to write it to Acrobat and send it to the desktop for printing, or just print it from the laptop.   Both desktop and laptop are running W7ultimate and are 64 bit machines.  As I think I mentioned in the post, everything works fine with jpgs that from screenshots or JPEG scans from my HP multifunction printer, so long as the scan was never imported to a Lightroom catalog, OR Nikon NX.

Exactly what steps do you follow to get the image out of LR and into Word?

No, he said that DW gives him an error message: "Can't open

won't allow him to insert the file.

  • Trying to export original jpeg file # in Lightroom

I cannot seem to exprt my images and retain the orginal jpeg file number once I have watermarked them... I choose the "save with original file number" option in the dop down list but it still exports them with new numbers.
How do I keep my original numbers?

    It makes no sese.
Not sure what exactly you're doing here.
I mean, you need to import (copying) from card to hard disk, and when doing so, the image filenumber is used in filename if you insert
    'Filename number suffix'
or just don't rename upon import.
Filenumber should then be preserved in filename - can you get that far successfully?
Then, when exporting, you choose a rename template with
    'Original number suffix'
or just don't rename upon export
and filenumber should be in exported file too - is this where the ball is getting dropped?
PS - feel free to post actual filenames, screenshots, files, ... - the devil is often in the details, and so far you've not provided all.

Attach it to the message. An attachment is an attachment -- if it is displayed or not by the recipient's e-mail client is not under your control.
You can zip it (compress it) before sending it; if it's text, you should zip it anyway; if it's JPEG, zipping will not reduce the size (in fact, it's even possible it may increase it slightly), but most e-mail clients do not display what's inside a zip archive.

  • Save failure while editing jpeg files in Preview

I edited some jpeg files in Preview but when I saved them they were converted to "Unix Executable Files." Why and is there any recovery method?

All this stuff moved under TOOLS. Except the stuff under COMMENT. For instance, insert pages is under the PAGES section of TOOLS. For some reason Adobe thought this would be easier for us all.

  • JPEG file embedded in PDF (CMYK)

    Hello,
As I understand the PDF Specifications it's possible to directly include a JPEG file in a PDF.
It has to be encapsulated into a XObject and its filter must be set to DCTDecode.
(Even the JPEG header and such get stored in the final PDF)
So I wrote a litte program using the Adobe PDFL that create such file, basically it reads the entire JPEG file using a ASStm [ASFileStmRdOpen()] which is called by the [PDEImageCreate()].
I set in the Create() call that the stream is encoded.
Of course it creates alongside this the appropriate PDEColorSpace.
In the end all of this works in RGB I get the intended output.
But when I use CMYK JPEG file, the PDF I get is the negative of the image (as if I applied Adjustements->Invert in Photoshop). Did I miss something for CMYK files ?
Below links to download the test files & the result :
    - CMYK (JPG) http://dl.free.fr/h2jecWBpj  (PDF) http://dl.free.fr/gv5zecOEp
    - RGB    (JPG) http://dl.free.fr/nccbrL1mg  (PDF) http://dl.free.fr/ho5kqmkD4
    Thanks for the help.

I assume your talking about  "Table 13 – Optional parameter for the DCTDecode filter" : ColorTransform.
If the encoding algorithm has inserted the Adobe-defined marker code in the encoded data indicating the ColorTransform value, then
the colours shall be transformed, or not, after the DCT decoding has been performed according to the value provided in the encoded data and the value of this dictionary entry shall be ignored.
So again if I understood correctly when Photoshop writes the jpeg file it sets the APP14 marker (described here : http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/TagNames/JPEG.html#Adobe) and isn't this flag sufficient for a PDF reader to make the appropriate conversion for correct CMYK output.
On a sidenote in libjpeg if this marker is present and considering its value and there is 4 components in the input file it sets the colorspace to YCCK. Is YCCK equals to inverted CMYK ?
Or is inverted CMYK flagged elsewhere in a JPEG file ?
I suppose Adobe Reader (the one I use on Linux) is a conforming reader that fully support the PDF specifications and reacts to marker in JPEG file format that in turn get stored in the stream of a XObject, am I wrong ?

  • Playing inserted avi files in Adobe Acrobat 9 or later

A user has inserted avi files into Adobe and it always worked up to version 8.1.
Any version later than that, the avi files will not play anymore.
Is there any way to make them play or will all his files need converted to another source?
Converting them all to a different format would be quite the task as there are many videos involved.

You can't edit Excel files in Adobe Acrobat.

  • How to view .jpeg files in Yosemite

Am using Yosemite (10.10.2) on my iMac and want to view rather old .jpeg photos. When I attempt to open them, I get an error message saying Photoshop 3.0 is required. When the file titles are displayed in Finder, I can see the little-bitty picture, so I think the Mac knows the picture is there, just reluctant to let me view it.  (I tried using Preview and iPhoto and neither one works for this.)
Is there some way to view these photos with the existing Mac programs?
    Thank you,
    TBS2

Thanks for all the replies. I tried to respond to everyone individually, but the rules say I can only post content every 30 seconds. Hence this combined reply.
Don't have "Quick Look" on my iMac. I did use the "Get Info" option to open all .jpeg files with Preview. Didn't work. Did try to open the files from within Preview using the "Open file" option.
Tried opening with Firefox (thanks to whomever posted that hint somewhere on the blog) and the Firefox error message says there is an error in the file.
I am able to open other .jpeg files with Preview, so I am now of the belief there is a problem with the file, not with how my system is handling it.
Suppose a "fixer" of some kind is in order, but I don't know what that is!
    Thanks again for everyones help.

  • RAW files converted to JPEG files on my mac can't be seen by my customer who has a PC: WHY?

I have been using Adobe CS5 for over a year now but only recently discovered how Adobe Bridge helps with work flow and post processing. My first time using Bridge I put all my RAW NEF files into folders and, after processing them in Photoshop, put all the JPEG files into a seperate folder. Before sending said JPEG images to my client, I batch renamed them to make sure the image file numbers were in the proper consecutive order. My client, who is a PC user, received these images and said she was unable to view them. Her computer system isn't outdated and I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm wondering if there was a formating change that happened when I did the batch rename or if the problem is Adobe Bridge altogether? I did all these on my Mac Book Pro which is only a year old..What am I missing??

Did each image have its .jpg extension? i think Windows likes to see the extension, Macs don't care.

  • Moved jpeg files to other folder, now iPhoto can't find them

I dragged/dropped some original jpeg files into a new folder to aggregate certain files together, but since they are now in a different folder iPhoto 9 can't find them. The thumbnails in iPhoto still remain, but results in the large black/grey "!" when I try to open them. I'd rather not rebuild the enormity of my entire photo library over this, so is there some other way to re-link thumbnails to files?
iTunes makes this easy with music. When I click on a file name and it can't find the file, it offers to allow me to locate the file myself, and then it re-establishes the link between the iTunes library item and the file. No problem.
How does one go about doing this in iPhoto for, say, a couple of dozen files without having to start over with an ENTIRE rebuild? I know exactly where the files are, and it seems ridiculous that iPhoto isn't equipped to track the whereabouts of an unchanged file that's simply been dragged from one folder to another.

Did you do the moving of the image file in the Finder or do you have a reference library as asked by Larry? In either case moving the files is a recipe for disaster as you've found out. You must either move the files back to their original locations or try to get those photos back into iPhoto as follows:
1 - Find the folder you moved the files into and COPY it to the Desktop.
2 - in iPhoto delete the photos that you're having the problems with as you normally would even though you can't see see them. Also delete all the photos that are in the folder you moved the other files into.
3 - drag the folder on the Desktop into iPhoto to import them as one event. If you get a duplicate warning I'd let it import the duplicate and use Duplicate Annihilator to find them so you can cull out the duplicate you don't want.
Other than that you might have to start over from scratch as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
1 - Move the existing library folder to the desktop
2 - Open the library package like this.
3 - Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4 - Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
