Inserting a page into a document

I hate sections but whether I designate a Section or not, the program just goes ahead and does it. Then if I need to insert a page after the initial layout, and can't do it. Is there a work around here?

Whatever version of Pages you are using (you haven't said) does not create Sections, you do.
Sections do not make it impossible to insert extra pages or reorder existing pages.
A Section Break is an invisible character inserted into the document, dividing it into what it says; "sections" (chapters if you will).
A Section is a series of pages within a Word Processing document that share Headers and Footers, Layout and background images.
The Section can be dragged into a different order in the Thumbnails, but the pages within the section do not change. They move together, otherwise you would scramble your text.

To see how Pages works:
Menu > View > Page Thumbnails
When you click on the thumbnails each Section is outlined in yellow.
Click where you want a new page > Menu > Insert > Section Break
But then to have a new page all you need to do is add content to fill the page or Insert > Page Break to force the insertion point over onto a new page.

Acrobat X Pro makes text disappear from a page when I insert that page into another PDF

I printed a single page Microsoft Project schedule to PDF using Acrobat X Pro. All good. I then inserted that one page into another PDF document using Tools/Insert Pages/Insert from File. Much of the text in the inserted page goes missing after inserting that page into the other PDF document. How do I prevent this disappearing text problem?

Does the inserted page have a lot of markup? I do not think the markup will insert.

Is there a way to scan multiple pages into single document? I am using the following: HP pavilion laptop with windows 8, HP photosmart C6380 all in one printer scanner copier.

Please try
Double click printer icon on desktop,
Select Scan a Document or Photo,
Put the first page on the glass (face down),
Check options (size, dpi ...), and select Scan document to file,
Click Scan - machine will scan the first page
Remove the first page on the glass, put the second page,
Click + (plus sign) It sits on the left hand side of a red x
Machine will scan the second page, put 3rd page on the glass and click + again ..... to the end then click Save
Click Done after Save

Have you tried this (using PDF format).
Launch the scan from the HP Solution Center
Click Change Settings.
Select the desire Scan Shortcut, then click Save to file save options
Make sure Create One File per scanned page... is Unchecked, Approve and perform the Scan.

I can't seem to find a way to get them to scan continuously, or a way to stitch them together afterwards.

You can scan multiple pages into a single document with the scan to PDF option. Use the following steps to do so:
1. Open MP Navigator.
2. Click One Clcik.
3. Click Save to PC.
4. Change the File Type from PDF to PDF (multiple pages).
5. Make any other changes as needed, then click scan.

Inserting html pages into dw

I've put together a page of 18 thumbnails that are rollovers
in Image Ready -
they click to bring up large images on the same page. The
large images are
layered on top of each other.
How can I insert this page into a dw page that already

Can I Insert a Page in My Document?

Hi, I am using InDesign CS.
Is there a way to "insert" a page into my pages. For example: I have created and designed 14 pages, but now I was told I need to add a page after the first page and before the last page. Is this possible? I hope so because I don't want to have to move everything just to accommodate the page. Thanks.

Sure, just use the pages menu (the arrow on the image below) and you will see "Insert Pages" which will bring up a nice little dialog box.
Or you could drag an existing page over the "New Page" button down the bottom (circle) which will dupliacte it rather than inserting a blank page. You can then drag it around the pages panel until it's in the right place.

This can be done with a simple script. Let's say the file is located under C:\temp\cover.pdf ... You can then use this code in a batch process (AKA Action):
this.insertPages(-1, "/C/temp/cover.pdf");
Run it on your files, and that's it!

How do I insert new pages into an existing pages document

I have been doing a newsletter for 18 months in pages. SInce the last update I have been unable to find a way to add a page to my document or change positions of pages. I have searched online for answers which did not help, and all the tutorials I found are not for the updates version. Help, this app is useless if I can't do this!

Inserting blank page into template

I am working in a template. I would like to insert a blank page into the middle of it and create my own thing and then continue with more pages from the template. How do I insert a blank page.

I think the easiest and cleanest way is like this: click on View > Show Invisibles so that you can see all the hidden characters, then put your cursor in front of the last paragraph marker on the previous page. Click on Insert > Page Break. That will add a new, blank page inside your document.

Crashes when inserting new pages into Templates from CS6

InDesign CS6 is crashing frequently when page numbers or blank pages are inserted into an InDesign Template file, The problem persists for many different users on several platforms and operating systems.

I have continued to have the same problems since I originally posted, including after the 7.0.2 update, though I have not tested EVERY scenario I did the first time after updating. Has anyone else seen improvement after the update? (I got the 7.0.2 update download via the built-in Adobe updater, not from the website, so I'm not sure where to locate it there).
I am sorry to hear others having similar or the same issue, but hopefully it is helpful to have a thread going where all those experiencing this can add to the list until it is recognized as a bug. And fixed! Though it does not resolve the actual problem, two work-arounds we are using to function in the meantime are to (1) always make a really long document to start with, with all the pages we think we'll need and more and (2) have a new, blank InDesign document with several pages open and drag pages from the blank document into your working document. This is a way to "add" blank pages when they are needed without inserting new pages in any of the traditional ways (which cause crashes). I also always send the crash report in to Adobe and encourage others to do the same.

Does anyone know how to insert line numbers into a pages document?

One of the crude, but easy, workarounds is to Insert a 1-column table (zero Header Rows), Floating, and Fill the column with ascending numbers. Position the column in your left margin and adjust the row height to match your line spacing. Things will line up better if your body text is styled with line height set to "Exactly". When you have the alignment satisfactorily close, click once on the border of the table to select the entire table and go to the Graphic Inspector and set Stroke to None. Then, while the table is still selected, Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master to get it to appear on following pages.
