Inserting a watermark in LiveCycle

How do I insert a watermark in liveCycle ?
I shoul say I'm using the template.

I created this watermark through several steps (not that I think this is the best way to do it)... I started in Word creating a WordArt object that I rotated and adjusted the color accordingly. I saved the .DOC file as a PDF and tried to start a new form using the new PDF as the source file. Then I did a copy/paste of all my form information from my original project over to the new one... Didn't work! Then I tried saving the watermarked PDF as a PNG file (just a plain image) and the file size was actually smaller! I then simply inserted the PNG file into my original form as an image and adjusted it's size and position accordingly. I also had to send the image to the back of the display order so that it showed up behind all the form objects. Trust me, I would have MUCH prefered to have created some sort of vectorized object that would have been editible but I just don't see LiveCycle able to make such an animal. I hope this helps and isn't too late to answering your question! I've attached an example of the work I've done for this to this reply.
If anyone can think of a better way to do this, I'd love to hear it!!

MobileMe Gallery: How to insert a watermark ?

When I export my images from Aperture 2 to Flickr, Mail or JPEG files, I can define an overlay picture which is used as watermark / copyright notice in an export preset.
When I export my Aperture images to a MobileMe Gallery, Aperture does not seem to use any preset and does not insert any watermark.
Is there any way to insert watermarks on MobileMe Gallery pictures ?

Just to clarify: Currently there's no way of adding a watermark image to your "MobileMe Albums" since this feature doesn't use the web export presets. The only way to to this is to add the watermark outside of Aperture and reimport the image or with an edit plug-in
The method outlined by Lythophaga just works with the "Web Page" and "Web Journal" feature where you're able to chose an export preset when publishing them on MobileMe.

How could insert a Watermark or Copy Right logo in Aperture 2?

Since I think Aperture will expect you to furnish a .psd file, it might be best to find a friend to create the watermark image as a PSD with transparent background.
Where are you using your images after they leave Aperture -- many gallery sites provide ways to watermark on their websites? Or are you wanting to have on images you print?
You might check on http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/ for some app to create this, and you might investigate whether Photoshop Express (PS Online) has enough capability to create the needed file for Aperture.

How to insert custom watermark in Bridge CC

I am using Ps CC and Bridge CC. I have created a custom visual watermark in Ps that has a transparent backgound. If I have the photo open in Ps, I can drag and drop the watermark onto the photo and it looks fine.
But when I try to use the Output menu in Bridge (I added the Output module yesterday), I can specify the correct psd file with the watermark under the "Add image" instead of "Add text" area in the Watermark sub tab under Outpuf, but the background of the watermark comes out white, so that the watermark is inside the white box. I want to batch process the addition Bridge.
How cam I fix this?

Don't use a watermark myself and haven't tried it often but yes, you need to create templates for all. Personally i have several custom templates with different background, amount of images on one page, size and orientation. Also the font size is set to match the amount of files.
It is a bit of work but only one time, afterwards you gain much time and speed from this effort because you only need to select the wanted template to have the lay out as it should be
A Web gallery offers no options for a watermark I'm afraid so if you need them you should create an action in PS to make a copy of the image (or save as, be sure to not loose your original) in the right size and add a Watermark. Then put Web Gallery to work.
The resizing is needed for each new template and you have to work from top to bottom because if you have a watermark and then change size or amount you have to start over again (there is a lot room for improvement in Bridge…).
Make your templates with a few files selected (e.g. max amount on one page) for speed. Each time you make changes to the watermark you can use the open to refresh preview to check whether you like it or not.
And remember, if you use the output module in Bridge it creates a PDF file merely used for Contact Sheet function that needs something like Acrobat or other viewers to view the content.
If you open a PDF in PS it might separate the files or pages first, hence you probably miss the watermark.

When converting Windows pages (.doc) to Pages that do have Watermarks, is there a way to have the watermarks be sized as normal instead of running off the page on Pages 08? (at least that's what most of mine do).

If you search for the keyword "watermark" in the PDF User Guide delivered with every legal copy of iWork, you will be sent to pages 18 & 57 which describes the wanted feature.
As I trash automatically .doc files which are sent to me, I don't know the way they are behaving in Pages

Hi. I'm now trying to hook windows API to insert watermark image when printing a document.
It works fine with MS Word, PowerPoint, Notepad and Mspaint except Adobe Reader when I hooked EndPage API calls to insert watermark image.
And all the progress looks work well from the log but i can't insert the watermark image.
Then i tried it with another PDF viewer, it was work well except only ADOBE Reader.
Any suggestions will be helpful to me.

Ask in the Reader forum. However, the process should be a property of the print driver for your printer, not Reader.

How to insert a Video watermark?

Welcome to the forums.
Please import the clip in the project panel, right click on the clip and select new sequence from clip option, you can also drag the clip to new item icon at the bottom of the project panel to create a sequence.

Watermark Insertion for Web Displays

Here is a riddle. I am trying to insert a Photoshop generated watermark into photos that I publish to my Mobileme web site built by iWeb. The only way I can figure out how to do it is export the photos from my web album in Aperture, using the watermark preset I have built. Then import them back in to the web site project in Aperture then publish it again.
Anyone have an idea how to attached the watermark as it is in transit to the web site or directly into the photos without having to export and import them?

Regardless of how you do it you are actually exporting from aperture. The only differnce is that by going through the file export process from your smart albums you can insert a watermark (and control other settings like size and compression) while dragging and dropping you are at the mercy of both applications' default settings.

Watermark Disappears when Opened in Acrobat 9

I created a watermark using (mac) Acrobat X Pro. The watermark can be viewed perfectly on my mac. My co-worker can also view it perfectly using (windows) Acrobat X.
However, when I open it in Adobe Reader 9, the watermark disappears. I have tried this on two PCs with Adobe Reader 9 with the same results.
Can someone please explain how I am able to insert the watermark and make it viewable or show on all versions of Acrobat.
I am creating the watermark via Tools > Watermark
I have both "Show when printing" and "Show when displaying on screen" ticked
I have tried both "appear behind" and "appear on top" as well as different Opacity settings.

Yes I do write both debug and error messages to a log file.
I did further testing and found that it must be somewhere else the problem is because the object returned by CoCreateInstanceEx works just before the function returns.
What are the differences between running a plug-in in Acrobat 9 inside and outside IE? Like I have to get the AVDoc from a callback (AVDocDidOpen) function because AVAppGetActiveDoc() doesn't work in IE (external window)

Acrobat 9 Watermarking error

We are trying to take a pdf that was created in Acrobat 9 and watermark it. Right now the error is "An error was encountered while retrieving page content"
The only way we can watermark anything is to take it back to a previous version and watermark it.

Was this issue resolved? Since upgrading to Acrobat Pro 9 we cannot insert a watermark or background to a PDF comprising other PDFs (only) created in Pro 8 and Pro 9.
Have tried adding the watermark using Pro 8, but it still does not work. Thanks!

Insert Water mark on current document

I have some documents that I want to insert a watermark on them behind the text.
A simple diagonal faded red OVERDUE or COPY across the page behind the text.
In MS Word this was quick and easy. I cant find a way to do this in Pages. I tried a Help search and it brings up some stuff about floating and inline objects, but nothing that obviously seems to help in creating a watermark
Anyone know if Pages can do this?

WP mode or layout mode....do not know it says Word Processing at the top of the document so I assume WP mode. This is an existing document.
I created the text box and put in the text.
I can drag the text box edges, and that resizes the box, but not the text, so I have to get out of that and hit the fonts button and enter numbers to expand the text size manually, then re position the box, change the text size, possibly change the text box size again, etc.
I want to expand the text to a size that fills the page, and at an angle that just looks correct. Is there a way to grab the edge of the text box and drag it so that it expands the text and changes its angle by dragging without having to use the clumsy inspector way of doing it. I want the text to auto fill/fit in the box and then drag the handles of the box to fit it to the page.
I eventually created a watermark that looked correct and did
+Menu > Format > Advanced > Move object to section master+
but now when printed it does not look correct and I need to change it. How do I get back to it to edit it again? I cant seem to select it again. I would appear I need to access the 'Section master' since that is where the object is moved to.
The Sections icon in the toolbar is greyed out and after reading through the help on Sections I cant seem how to do it.
This is far harder to learn that I imagined it would be. In Word this is a menu item, Format, Background, Insert Printed Water Mark, you type your text and in it goes, sized and fitted per page. This is v. difficult in comparison. Will send feedback and put in a feature request

Watermark, color space, and transparency problem

I'm having a problem with inserting a watermark image into my pdfs.
I created the watermark image in Photoshop. It is 8-bit gray with a transparent background. I saved it as a pdf (pdf 1.4 to allow transparency).
The main pdfs (to be watermarked) are created through a seperate process (they are scans of old book pages). The pdfs are produced from 8-bit gray tiff images, but I cannot determine what color space the these pdfs are.
To the problem: in Acrobat 9, when I insert the watermark above, all of the blacks on the page shift to grey, as if the opacity was shifted lower. The opacity is set to 100%, so this should not be a problem! The watermark does have a transparent background, though.
Since this seems to be a color space conflict, if I save the watermark PDF in CYMK or RGB, it does not cause the tonal shift (blacks remain true), but the watermark now has an opaque background. I need it to be transparent, as the background of the files to be watermarked are not tonally consistent (old discolored paper).
I guess these are my questions:
(1) Is there any way to determine the color space of a PDF? File->Properties does not list color space.
(2) Why does the watermark PDF, saved in CYMK or RGB, not allow a transparent background? Is this an Acrobat issue or color space?
(3) Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this? :)

First, I have 2 questions: 1) How do the color and watermark background look when you have Advanced > Print Production > Output Preview open? 2) What version of Acrobat are you working in?
The most common reason that people see an almost "washed out" appearance (or looking as though additional opacity is applied) is due to a bug in Acrobat 8. This was fixed in the 8.1 dot release. One way to determine if this is what you are running into is to view the file with the Output Preview dialog open. If it views correctly then, make sure you have the update installed.
I don't work with watermarks, but understanding the general concept of watermarks it seems like a reasonable guess that they would use overprinting. I'm wonder if this is what is affecting the display of them (non-transparent background) since Acrobat needs Overprint Preview ON to accurately display objects with overprint flags . As with above, turning on Output Preview will help you deduce if that's what is happening since Output Preview automatically enables Overprint Preview (which is off by default).
BTW, Preflight will let you know what color spaces are in PDF file. Run any Profile. In the results panel, drop down the "Overview" section. There you will find a color spaces section listing the color spaces of the document.

Watermark linked to a table or anchored frame

I'm having a problem. I have a table wich has a watermark. I created two more master pages with the watermark and applied to the pages containing the table.
The problem comes when I add or remove some pages before this tables. The master page still applied to the same number page and the tables pages not.
I tried to insert the watermark into an anchored frame positioned 'Outside column' but it overlaps the table content.
How can I solve the problem?

You should be using the Master Page mapping to tie a specific paragrah (i.e. the one used to anchor the table) to a custom Master Page.
