Inserting a YouTube Video

I have played with the YouTube feature and find it quite useful. One concern that I have is about the YouTube links going away. Is there any way to download a YouTube video and post it to a personal (or company) server to ensure the link never dies?

Hi there
Indeed there is. Copy the link to the YouTube video. Then visit KeepVid. http://www.keepvid.com
There you will paste the link and let KeepVid do its thing. The "gotcha" with this is that there are some HUGE icons that try and trick you into clicking them to download the video. The Download button is very small and is just to the right of where you enter the URL.
Cheers... Rick

  • Inserting/embedding YouTube Video

    Hi,
I'm runing Ct CS4 and according to the documentation, I can insert a video from the web into a page using 'Insert > video > From internet,' after which, "A video placeholder appears in your draft."
I am able to browse to the YT video I want to insert and click 'Ok' but then nothing happens; there is no placeholder and no video when I publish, and no error message, and trying to use the YT Share code results in an error about not being able to insert a directory.
What am I doing wrong? It is a permissions issues?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Steps to enable HTML Snippet:
    1) Administer the site
    2) Select the Role and Click Edit Role Settings...
    3) Choose Editing
    4) Check the option, "Allow HTML Snippet Insertion..."

  • Social Widgets Insert two youtube videos on same page

    and muse dies 4evah.
Not incredibly familar with what to do about removing a page when merely having muse generate a thumbnail for it causes the designer to die a quick death.  Or even how to ask about it.  Would strongly prefer not to retreat to a back up copy if at all possible.

Well, I did see the other people who are having this same issue.
In case it is at all helpful to someone else...  If you're better off with the file you have instead of a prior version,
this is what I did in windows.
    Restart
Bring up muse and let it explode.
Bring it up again and it will ask you if you want to recover your file
    Say no.
It will be your file without all of the changes made since the last save.  In my case, that was lots better than retreating to a backup copy.

  • Captivate 7 trial - inserting Youtube videos.

    Hi,
I am trying to insert a Youtube video in a project I am producing using the trial version of Captivate 7.  The Youtube interaction does not even appear when I run the project.  And if I try using the Caption & Content slide, it doesn't accept the URL link.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Ajit,
Thank you for your reply.  It worked when I previewed it in Web Browser.

    Hi There,
Can you please confirm Captivate 7 exact version ( By going to Help > About Adobe Captivate ) ?
Have you tried to preview in Web Browser after inserting YouTube interaction in your project ?
You can also download the video from YouTube on your machine locally and then insert it into Captivate by going to Video > Insert Video option at the top menu bar.
    Regards,
    Ajit

  • Can I add a Youtube video to a PDF with Acrobat 9 Pro?

I was reading about PDF portfolios in Acrobat X Pro: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/online-eportfolios-multimedia-presentations.html
It says and I quote, "With Acrobat X Pro, you can also present live web content. For example,  you can insert a YouTube video to play within your PDF Portfolio, or you  can add a web page that will dynamically load the most current page  content. Anyone can view your PDF Portfolio using free Adobe Reader®  software."
Is this also possible with Acrobat 9 Pro? I have tried following all the steps (I even did a search and found this: http://teacherlink.ed.usu.edu/tlresources/training2/acrobat/AcrobatwMultimedia.pdf), however, whenever I add the Youtube url using the multimedia tool in Acrobat, I get the message 'no media file has been specified.'
Is it not posisble to add Youtube videos to PDFs in version 9 pro?

PDF Portfolios in Acrobat X support the use of 'live' Web pages as documents (they open in an embedded browser window). You can therefore create a reference to a page from the YouTube website, but the content will only appear if the viewer has a Web connection and allows trust access. It's essentially no different to including a Web link in a regular file, except the browser appears within the Acrobat or Adobe Reader window.

  • YouTube video including playlist

How do I insert a YouTube video that includes a playlist in Muse?

    Hi
With youtube widget you can enable show related option which would show up the related videos once the current video is finished playing, but if you want playlist along with youtube video then you would need to embed that separately.
    This would help you :

  • Urgent: youtube videos crashing Muse

this feels very like the problem last summer with YouTube videos (i haven'nt tried Vimeo). Entering HTML code into the composition Lightbox display will crash Muse. Is anyone looking into it? Please and thank you.

Okay, several hours later, I've found a workaround. I've tried so many different things, I gave up taking careful notes, so I'm not really sure if I finally got the four YouTube videos loaded by luck or by actually figuring something out. But I did find what I think might be a workaround that I would suggest trying if anyone else is having this problem.
    Here goes:
    1. I had been able to get the videos to load on the Muse desktop version of my website a week before (with about a dozen crashes, but with lots of patience). So, I used these sucessfully embedded videos as a point of entry for getting the embed codes instead of by accessing the YouTube videos by first going on my YouTube channel. I accessed the videos by opening the file in Muse and previewing the page where the videos had successfully embeded by using the "preview page in browser" option in Muse.
    2. I then clicked on the YouTube symbol on the bottom right of the frame aka "watch on YouTube.com". So this took me to the actual YouTube site where the video resides.
    3. I then clicked on share, then embed. Here's where it got interesting!  I suddenly saw different embed options this way than I had by accessing the video directly from my YouTube channel, even though in both situations I clicked on share and then on embed.
One of the options that wasn't availble when I accessed the video directly from my YouTube channel was to "use old embed code." So I selected that, and I selected "Enable privacy-enhanced mode." But I think I left the "Show suggested videos when the video finishes" option unselected, although I'm not sure if that was the case on each of the four videos. (Sorry, I'd been working on this for several hours and stopped taking notes.) Anyway, this generated a much longer embed code that I'd been getting before.
    4. I did not use the Muse YouTube wiget to embed the video. (That had been causing Muse to crash, and it only takes the video ID, anyway.) Instead, I clicked on "insert HTML" and pasted in the full embed code from YouTube.
    5. I have no idea why this worked, and I'm not even sure if it was the "use old embed code" that worked the first time. Maybe selecting other options would work. But I'm sure that using the old embed code is what did work for the 3rd and 4th videos that I embeded. It's what I would suggest to anyone if Muse is crashing when they are trying to insert a YouTube video.
Is it possible the problem was in my computer and this was simply a workaround for that? Absolutely.

  • How can I insert a link to a YouTube video in RoboHelp?

How can I insert a link to a YouTube video in a RoboHelp CHM topic or in a WebHelp topic. On YouTube, I can select Share \ Embedded and get this HTML:
    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/hz1egoBSukE?list=PLAAC40DA8171E6038"  frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
But when I generate the project, I get the msg, This program cannot display the webpage.

Or just paste the embed code from Youtube in the topic (using HTML view)

  • Embedding a YouTube Video utilizing HTML Insert Crashes Muse Repeatedly

Just today I have noticed when embedding a YouTube Video in Muse that it has begun crashing repeatedly. I cannot get the video to stay embedded to finish this project. Is there a bug or a work-around?
    Thank you.

Please try using YouTube embed code with the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" option checked. It appears this crash is being triggered by recent changes in how YouTube's embed code works. At least early evidence indicates turning the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" option on when creating the embed code appears to change the behavior of the embed code enough to avoid triggering this crash within Muse.
If you do try this, please report back to let us know whether or not setting this option enables you to avoid this crash. Thanks.

  • I want to insert a video "link, not embedded, into my page where the youtube video opens in a small window and plays over my page.

I have a database which contains youtube video links. Everything works except I don't want a youtube page to open, just a small 500x400 pixel window that will play over my website's page. So the customer doesn't end up on youtube, but remains on my page. Please help!!

One way to do this is with FancyBox (modal window).
Scroll down to YouTube (iframe) example:

  • BC web app for inserting YouTube Videos

I remember reading a while ago about a web app that was available to purchase which allowed clients to enter in YouTube videos very easily just using the url. I can't, for the life of me, find out where that was?
    Can anyone help?

Not heard of that, you can always build this yourself though.
It depends on the design and implementation you want.
Basic use would be a custom field - multiline and you copy the embed code into it and they render out based on your web app layout.

  • Insert HTML tag, embedded code from YOUTUBE video place into my movie pg

Okay, so I need to do 2 things actually, one is be able to copy and past the embedded code from a youtube video then place it into my movie page on my site... I was able to copy and paste the embedded code, drag n drop the HTML icon from iWEB onto the movie pg then paste in the embedded code
the video shows up after adjusting the size appropriately but when I press the play button nothing happens?
Also need to take the video from youtube and adjust it by changing a few things... how do I drag it into my imovie ?? or how do I go about editing the video?
    any help is much appreciated
    S

The video will not play in iWeb itself - you need to publish it first because you have the code the and snippet within iWeb. If you want to check that it works, just publish to a local folder from iWeb to test it.
You need to alter the code directly, so simply click on the html snippet and alter the code that you entered.

  • Taking a long time to load a YouTube video and then it will not play

Trying to watch youtube videos and connection from news source. It has been taking along time to load and then will not play... Do I have a setting off any ideas? This has not been the case until recently

Try to restart using your installer disk, by inserting your installer disk and restart while pressing C.
And after it reboot using installer disk and you select the installer language, got o utilities and repair permission and disk.
Also try to reset your PRAM and SMC:

IF the problem still presist, you might have to re-install your OS X.
    Good Luck.
