Inserting an image (jpg, png, etc) in Adobe Reader

I've seen older discussions of this online (2012-2013 mostly) but am interested in finding out how to insert an image (not a pdf) into a form that has been opened in Adobe Reader. I own a real estate company and know this can be done because I purchased pre-designed real estate flyers that allows me to click on an existing image and insert a new image in jpg, gif, tif, or png....see the images below of one of the flyers. Note in the images that I'm using Adobe Reader and the Open dialog box File Type is for the image file types. How is this done? I'm using Adobe Acrobat 10.  Is there a newer version that allows this or do I have to use LiveCycle or some other software program to achieve this result?
Thanks in advance for any guidance!!!!

I assume it imbeds it because it replaces the existing image. I only print the updated flyer. I've never tried to send it as an email attachment so I can't be certain. If there's a way to replace the image and have it as an attachment (vs. embedding it) I'm okay with that as long as I can print it and the result is the same as embedding.

  • Mail doesn't show images, just the icons eg. .jpeg, .jpg, .png etc.

    iMac 24" OS X 10.7.5 Lion, my Mail ver. 5.3 does not show images anymore, just the icon attachments, eg. .jpeg, .jpg, .png etc.
    I can click on them and use the open with context menu and open them but they just open as attachments not lined up to the email body as they have always been in the past.
    What can I do to get these images back to where they belong?
    Thanks,

    Open Terminal in Applications>Utilities and paste this in. Then hit return.
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 0
    To reverse the setting, change the 0 to a 1.

  • Can I generate the first page in a PDF file To a image (jpg/png..) file without Adobe Acrobat Profes

    I was developing an desktop application with C#.NET2.0
    I would like to insert a PDF file to a repository and then generate the thumbnail of first page to a (jpg/png) file and store to the database for preview as the Icon in my application.(Like to Window Explorer)
    I have read around the boards and found that the machine must be installed with only the full of Acrobat Professional, right?
    If the appliction have to be run to a lot of client. Do I need to buy the lecense to all machines? Or Are there the other ways?

    If you want to use the Acrobat SDK, which is a tool for automating
    Acrobat, you need to buy and install Acrobat on each client.
    Adobe's PDF Library, which doesn't require Acrobat and has a different
    (negotiated) licensing model based on royalties might be a better fit.
    In either case, this would be written in C/C++.

  • Why is Firefox 10 insisting on saving images (jpg, png,gif) as filename.extension.rb?

    After I upgraded to Firefox 10, when I attempt to save images, for example, the firefox-54x62.png on this page, Firefox offers to save the image as "firefox-54x62.png.rb" with image type "PNG image"

    Inspect the MIME database key with the registry editor (regedit.exe) and do a search for that MIME type (file extension) via Ctrl+F.<br />
    Be careful with editing the registry as there is no Undo possible: all changes are applied immediately.<br />
    You can export key(s) before making changes.<br />

  • Inserting an image (jpg or gif) into spry widget

    creating a simple Spry dropdown menu.
    After excessive CSS tweaking, everything looks good except
    for being able to display 2 gifs (one when the menu is viewed and
    one when the mouse hovers over the menu item).
    Is it possible to insert these gifs into the menu? or do I
    need to look somewhere else?
    Thanks

    Not a problem. I just wanted to make sure you had a little
    understanding before diving too far in.
    First thing you should have open while doing this is your
    document (just so you can see what is going on) and the
    SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css since I assume you are using a Horizontal
    menu, but if this is wrong feel free to correct me.
    Now first take note this example is the third one. Then in
    the source code you will see the a group of code near the top with
    4 parts that begin with #MenuBar3. Now when you look at your CSS
    document (the one you previously opened) you will see that
    everything begins with ul.MenuBarHorizontal. This is actually a
    reference to the same item. To explain this look at the following
    example in the source code from the third link:
    #MenuBar3 a.MenuBarItemHover, #MenuBar3
    a.MenuBarItemSubmenuHover, #MenuBar3 a.MenuBarSubmenuVisible {
    background-image: url(images/itemgradient-hover.gif);
    background-repeat: repeat-x;
    Now on line 104 (assuming you have not changed anything too
    much) you should see the same beginning, but instead of #MenuBar3
    you will see ul.MenuBarHorizontal. The default attributes for that
    area are a background-color and foreground color. Images will
    always overwrite colors so you can just paste what is in between
    the { } from the source code of the Adobe page to your CSS page.
    Obviously the URL will change to the path to your own image. Now if
    something doesn't exist like this part from the Adobe source:
    #MenuBar3 li a {
    background-color: transparent;
    Just make your own CSS entry in that document with the
    substitution mentioned before. So you would end up with:
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal li a {
    background-color:transparent;
    Unfortunately this is the way these types of menus are done
    although I would suspect since the Spry is only listed as beta at
    this point it is to be expected. Hopefully this has made some sense
    to you. If not feel free to post back and I would be glad to
    explain this further.

  • How can I insert an image(JPG) into a SQL database?

    I have written an application to perform some tests in the lab.  After gathering the data I store it into a SQL Server.  I successfully managed to export all my raw numbers and calculations to the DB.  However I have not been able to export a screenshot of the Front panel.  I can write the screenshot to a JPG file just fine.  The problem is putting the image (binary data) into the DB.
    So from what work I've managed to do, two questions come to mind:
    1)  Is there a way to compress the screenshot, using standard JPG compression, without actually writing out to a file.  ie:  Just have a binary stream of the compressed image that I can write to the SQL database.
    2)  Even if I don't use compression, I can't write any kind of data that appears as an image.  What kind of data do I need to be writing from LabView to store it properly in an 'image' or 'binary' type field in a SQL database?  I am not looking for answer "binary data."  Nor do I want the answer that is stated in the Help file for the DB Connectivity Toolkit(type - Data Cluster).  What I need is to know what kind of conversions I need to do on the image data that comes out of the FP.GetScaledImage.
    I am using LabView 8.0 and have the Database connectivity toolkit.  We are running SQL Server 2000 and 2005.

    I also hit this limit.  In the end I just wrote the JPGs to disk, and stored the file path in the DB.  Not the ideal solution, I know.
    I'm trying to remember now, exactly what the problem was.  You're right to say the image data type should handle up to 2GB.  I think in the end, it was an issue of the LabView toolkit not playing well with newer versions of SQL Server, which have the image type.  Re-reading the error though, it sounds like it might be an issue with the ODBC driver.  FYI, 8KB used to be the max size for the largest types in SQL Server (I think binary in 2000).  I suspect this limit was coded into the driver or LabView, and can't handle the newer, larger types.
    That being said, the LabView DB toolkit was either written poorly or written a long time ago.  It has issues with generating SQL queries that have the proper quotes.  For example, if your column names have spaces in them, the toolkit will be unable to generate a valid query, without some modification of the toolkit *.vi's.  Images in a database is not a new concept and not new to me.  I've never used a language where it was more complicated or difficult to get working.  Unless you absolutely have to, I'd work out a way to just store the JPGs to disk, with the path in the DB.  Spending too much time on this defeats the purpose of using LabView.
    If NI decides to update the DB toolkit, then it might be worth giving it a try again.
    In case any NI people are reading this, this is a not so subtle hint that you need to update the DB toolkit to support modern DB features.  Especially, if NI is charging $1000 for it.

  • Problems Rendering Jpg/Png

    I'm working on a project where we have tiff images and we break them into the individual pages, then we save those pages into memory streams in order to convert them into byte arrays so we can put that in a datatable column  and bind that table to a report that has a OLE blob field that renders the image.
    The problem I'm have is that in  less than 1% of images the report fails to render the image and throw the following error:
    Error in file tempReportPath.rpt: The request could not be submitted for background processing
    I have analyzed the error and it only happens when the image is saved in the memory Stream and byte array as a compressed format: JPG/PNG/ Etc. Saving the image as a bitmap does not produce this problem, but the bitmap memory footprint makes it unusable for this project.

    Hi;
    You don't mention which version of Crystal Reports you are using, or if you have installed the latest service packs.
    We saw a similar issue recently, and our findings were:
    - Crystal Reports 2008 with Service Pack 2 seems to handle images better than other versions
    - Bitmap (BMP) files seem to work better than JPGs

  • Can't copy image from Adobe Reader into Adobe Illustrator

    I am attempting to copy an image from a document in Adobe Reader 8 into Adobe Illustrator CS3. When I try this I get this message in Illustrator:
    "Quicktime^TM and a decompressor are needed to see this picture."
    I am running OSX 10.5.2, with Quicktime Player 7.4.1. I just purchased and registered Quicktime Pro but that has not helped.
    What I am trying to do is use the image select tool in Reader to select an illustration out of a long PDF document so just opening the PDF in Illustrator is not convenient, nor is extracting the image, saving it in another format and then importing it. Before I upgraded, I was running Illustrator 10 on MAC OS X10.3. I could use the image select tool in Adobe Reader to copy an image to the clipboard, and then paste that image into in Illustrator document. Very convenient. For some reason that no longer works with Illustrator CS3 and OS X 10.5.

    "Try opening the document in Illustrator. There will options for importing different pages etc."
    I can do that, but it is for my purposes much more convenient to do what I used to be able to do: open a document in Reader, scroll down through the document to find the image I want, select only that image (not the entire page) and then paste it into an already-open Illustrator document. Now what I have to do is 1. use Reader to find the image in the document and note the page 2. Open that page of the document in Illustrator and then 3. copy that page into the illustrator document I am working on and 4. crop to just get the image.

  • Inserting Multiple Images into oracle database using JDBC

    I wanted to insert multiple images into database using JDBC by reading it from the file... and i am passing photos.txt(my text file) as an input parameter... that depends. Putting the images in BLOBs prevents the file locations stored in the database from getting out of synch with the filesystem when sysadmins decide to reorganise directory structures or "archive" "old" files that noone uses anyway.True, but it really comes down to a business decision (cost-benefit analysis). If you have the bucks, the expertise, and the time, go with the Blobs, otherwise go with the flat files.

  • Dynamic image is not being displayed in Adobe Reader 8.1

    Hi,
    In interactive form, we have followed below required steps to show a dynamic image.
    For the left image, drag and drop an Image Field element from the standard Library tab to the Body Pages pane. Select this image field and edit the following properties:
    • Click on the Layout tab and choose None for the Caption position.
    • Click on the Object, then the Binding tab and choose None for Default Binding.
    • Click on the Field tab, enter $record.SapOnlineShopUrl for the URL entry, and select Use Image Size for the Sizing field.
    • Click on the script editor and enter the following FormCalc script statement, which enables the dynamic integration of the image. Show: initialize Script: this.value.image.href = xfa.resolveNode(this.value.image.href).value;
    Language: FormCalc Run At: Client
    Image is displayed properly in Adobe reader 7.1 but it's not being displayed in Adobe reader 8.1.
    I was going through some forums and understand that Adobe 8.1 blocks href URL. If this is indeed true, what's the alternative way to show a dynamic image?
