Inserting clip so it moves the others down

Hello,
I am using CS3.
I currently have several clips on my timeline. When i work fast, I tend to drag clips I need drop it into the time line. I expect it, to move the other clips to the right, without creating a blank space or without overlaying.
Unfortunatley all it does is overlay. Even when I hold ctrl and drag it, it then creates a space in the middle of the clip and cuts the pre-existing clip. I don't want that to happen.
I suppose I am looking to insert clips in a similiar fashion like how it was in the older version of premiere 6.0.
Please advise.

If I have 2 clips on the time line.
Part of the second clip is not so visible on my monitor.
I then drag a clip holding the ctrl button and position it by the 2nd clip. I am hoping it will automatically go to the end of the 2nd clip. However it simply overlays the clip. Please advise.
In the old version of premiere, in 6.0,it used to be a bit easier to drag clips.
How do I make it such that the default edit is a ripple edit, and not an overlay edit?

If the DataGridview does not have it's DataSource set we can use the following logic

If the DataSource is set then we need to do what was done above but against the underlying data rather than the DataGridView itself. The base logic can be found in
the following article in LanguageExtensions.vb but please note the code there is for a different type of move yet the logic is still the same in the end.

Firefox4 on ubuntu, after awhile when I click on bookmarks and then move the cursor down to a bookmark, the list of bookmarks disappears. A stop and start of firefox4 fixes the problem but what is the long term fix?

I upgraded to 4 and I noticed that after 4 has been up for an hour or so I click on the bookmarks. I see my list of bookmarks below but when I move the cursor down to select one, the list disappears.
The only way I have found to fix this is to stop and start 4. I can then move the cursor down to select a bookmark. This problem has not occurred in previous versions.

No, I see the three areas at the bottom of the Bookmark area that you refer to, but that also highlights an issue. When I want to save a story to my Reading List and click on Share then "Add to Reading List" then go back to look at what is stored in the Reading List, my recently-saved item is not there.
I looked thru the History tab and the Reading List tab and have been in the Bookmark tab. But even when I Save a Bookmark, that newly-saved Bookmark does not show up in the Bookmark area.
But then again, the next day (and actually just in the last half-hour) all of the functionality came back. When I look at the Bookmarks, suddenly, again, all of the Bookmarks that are on my Safari browser on my iMac are now there, and I can now Save a Bookmark.
It keeps coming in and out and that is what is driving me a little nuts.

And You've not moved or emptied any folder on Your Hard Disk named
• iMovie Event's - or -
• iMovie Project's
Or - disconnected any external hard disk/s
As one CAN NOT move the Event's or Project's on / via DeskTop/Finder - AS iMovie then loses the connection to them. Moving them - MUST BE DONE - within iMovie application - to work OK.
So if You by meaning or accident moved it/them - Move them back - and iMovie might work again.
ELSE - If You are 100% sure that You didn't move them then
• Trash iMovie Pref and Cache files
• Run Repair Permissions - Disk Util tool
• Run Repair Hard Disk - Disk Util tool - BUT YOU MUST Start-Up Your Mac from DVD or External HD to do this
and may be all will work OK again

If you look in iTunes the movie sizes are listed - they are same whether purchased or rented.
However if you stop and restart/rewind the Apple Tv may in certain circumstances download the stream again.
Fine on a fast unlimited connection but wasteful and potentially annoying if not.
In general SD 1-1.5GB
720p HD 3-4GB
1080p 3-6GB
Some features (animation) will compress better and clearly a 150 min film will need more bandwidth than a 90 min one.

You can select multiple objects in the timeline in the usual Mac way - hold down the shift key while you click on the objects then copy, select other project, position playhead where you want to insert then paste.

How do I place an image and insert a different photo for the "mouse down" state?

I have placed an image within an accordian widget and when I select the "mouse down" area in the states dialog box, i click "fill" in the toolbar and insert the photo i want to display when the image is clicked but this image is "covered up" by the originally placed image and is not seen in my states dialog box.
I have done this before when i made rectangles and placed images in rectangles. But i soon realized that you cannot add alternative text to images in rectangles for some frustrating reason.
How do I place and image and have a different image for the mouse down state?

This effect can only be achieved when you use the images as a Rectangle Fill. And as you mentioned it above, you cannot add alternative text to images because it is added as a fill and not as a image.

When I open a drop down menu from the tool bar, and move the pointer down the list of choices, they become constantly "darkly highlighted" and the typefaces change to black making them unreadable.

As the pointer is moved down the list of choices in a drop down box, once the pointer passes each choice, that choice becomes constantly “darkly highlighted” and the type face of that choice turns black. So, as the pointer moves down the list of choices all of the choices become a block of darkly highlighted black text, making it impossible to read the choices which were passed over by the pointer.
It is though the HTML, JavaScript or Java attribute of ''*<code>onMouseover</code>'' is missing the attribute of ''*<code> onMouseout</code>'', thereby when the user moves the pointer off the boundaries of the element, that element retains the CSS given it by the''*<code> onMouseover</code>''

Why one stop answering user's request where the other down ?

We build a rac system with two nodes,the oracle version is 9.2.0.3.
While one machine break down suddenly, the other machine stop
answering user's request untile 2 minutes later? We cannot understand

I think while the nodes two break down, the user's connected to this
nodes will wait until fail over to node1, but with user's who has
connected to node one, or user's who want connect to node1, their work

When NSLOOKUP starts, before anything else, it checks the computer's network configuration to determine the IP address of the DNS server that the computer uses.
Then it does a reverse DNS lookup on that IP address to determine the name of the DNS server.
If reverse DNS for that IP address is not setup correctly, then NSLOOKUP cannot determine the name associated with the IP address.

Watching some movies the other night and my MacBookPro started humming like the disk drive was running, but ther was nothing in the disk drive. Was I being hacked and is my financial info doomed? doomed?

On a MacBookPro useing ox 10.6 It sonded like my hard drive was spining like a disk drive. Disk drive was empty. Was I being hacked? Also the next day time machine asked where to "back up" as ther was no choises available. It has never asked that before.

You were probably hearing the cooling fans speeding up to dissipate the extra heat produced by displaying movies for an extended time.
We would need more information to figure out why you were asked about where to back up. Was your backup hard drive connected to the computer and turned on at the time?
