Inserting graphs on Buzzword

How do I insert a graph I made in excel to a document on
Buzzword? I'm typing a paper that requires me to insert a graph
from excel to Buzzword. I made the graph and now I can't put it in
the paper I am typing. It will not allow me to insert the graph. I
need the graph in the document because it supports the information
I typed. Is it even possible to this?

hi, You can create a new table or you can insert an image in
gif, jpeg, jpg, or png format.

  • Excel Insert graph set position

    Hello,
I want to generate an excel report with a graph.
I use the VI "Excel Insert Graph.vi" to set the parameters for position and size, but in the report the graph use only the size parameter. I can't set the position of the graph in y report. See attachment.
Does anybody have a solution or an idea?

No one answered this question but 4 years later I ran into the same problem. So here is why you cant set the position with the position/size input of the Excel Insert Graph.vi:
You connected the string "A4" to the "name ("")" input of the insert graph vi. (like on the Bar Graph(Excel). vi example). If you do that, then the graph start position will be column A, row 4, no matter what you write in the position/size input.
Hope this answer can help oher people who use the labview example to base their excel vi on.

  • Excel Insert Graph (Need Help!)

    Hi there!
I am new to LabView, and trying to use the Excel Insert Graph vi. I am not sure what it means by "report in", I have tried to convert my file path for my Excel report into a string, but it won't take it, and the help says "links a report to the vi's used to control report appearance, data, and printing." Do I have to use another vi to open the Excel file first? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Take a look at the example VIs in your [LabVIEW]\examples\office folder.  There are several examples that deal with Excel and Graphs in MSGraph Examples.llb.  You must use the "New Report.vi" to generate a new report, which gives you the reference you can then use with the Excel Insert Graph.vi.  The examples should point you in the right direction.

  • Excel Insert Graph VI

Has anyone experienced the behavior of when using the Excel Insert Graph VI multiple times for different datasets that the graph will not always appear? When I run the below code, I see this behavior with a few graphs.

The issue is cause by the fact that you didn't wire anything to the column and row headers inputs. If you read the help file for the Excel Insert Graph VI the following is specified:
column headers specifies the text of the column labels on the graph. Leave this parameter unwired if you want to create an XY graph.
row headers specifies the text of the row labels on the graph. Leave this parameter unwired if you want to create an XY graph.
In your case you want to create an xlLine type graph but in fact you are creating an XY graph. Just wire something to the Row Column header inputs. See attached (LV2013).

  • Word Insert Graph.vi

    Hi,
I currently use the NI_Word.lvclass:Word Insert Graph.vi to insert some graphs into a document.
I pass the data to this VI as a 2D array, where the top row of the array represents the x-coordinates, and the other rows represent the y-coordinates.  The particular graph in question has multiple plots, where each plot is represented by a given row of the array.
This works fine, unless I want omit a given point of a particluar row/plot.  As it is not possible to have an "empty" element in the middle of a 2-D array, I don't know how to pass the data to the VI.
If I set the element to zero, this has the unwanted effect of plotting a zero point on my graph.
See the respective attachments to illustrate my point.
    Cheers,
    Dan

    Thanks for the response.
However, this does not do what I want it to.
Your VI deals with strings, whereas I need to deal with numbers.
With an array of strings, it is permissable to have an empty element (i.e. an element consisting of a blank string).  However, this is not allowed in a numeric array.
See the attachment for an example of an array I would pass to the Insert Graph VI if I could.
However, I realise this is not possible, so I am looking for a way around the problem.  I think this is more a question of programatically manipulating graphs in Word, than an array issue.
    Cheers,
    Dan

  • Right way to insert graph or chart from Word document?

I have a content given in word format. I place the document to indesign using Place command. All content is put except the graph / chart.
That graph/chart is linked to source data in excel that I don't have access to.
I manually copy paste from word it resulted as non editable raster image.
I can't paste to Illustrator first too.
I have searched the forum but doesn't get a right answer.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I finally got the excel files. I could copy paste the chart to illustrator, the results was vector line. Only sadly the data label appear error (screenshot attached)

  • Insert graph in a document

    Hi,
I have the report generation toolkit and I want to save many waveform graph in a Word document. I've done the test and 10 pictures make my file 1Mb big. It is very possible that for this application I have to save much more graph. That would imply a huge file and I don't want this. Is there any possibility to save some disk space?
    Thanks in advance

    Mackemann,
I have faced (and still to resolve satisfactorily) a similar situation.
Pls find attached .zip of my thread on this. We handle the 1:1 printing using AutoCAD.
Other waveforms are sent to a word file by capturing an image of the control (the graph). It adds to the file size as you rightly pointed out.
I am not sure if this will work but how about sending the waveform data array to an exel file and then make excel convert it into a graph?
Let me know if you make any breakthrough on this problem.

  • Report Designer - Inserting Graphs?

I have seen SAP PowerPoint slides demonstrating the capabilities of Report Designer that contain charts (bar or pie) apparently coming from BEx query data.
Is this possible to insert in the current version?  When I insert a dataprovider into a report, it's coming up as a table by default, and I don't see any way to change it to a chart layout.
    Thanks!

In SP 12 user can insert Image and Graphic.
To insert image: first we need to store supported (GIF, JPG and JPEG) images in MIME repository then insert image browse throw required image from MIME and click oK.
With the recent SP u have an option to insert image using MIME wizard that would take u directly to the MIME foler and generates a link like for. E.g. bwmimerep:///sap/bw/mime/Customer/Images/images.jpg and image get dipalyed in Report.
Later u can change the Height and width of image.
About inserting Graphic: First insert a graphic item and then select Dataprovider, and Chart type thorough chart editor.
U can have more than one chart from different data provider
    Hope this helps

  • How to insert the value axis in a EXCEL graph

    Hello,
how can I do to insert the value axis (name) and graph tilte in a EXCEL graph using report generation in LabVIEW??
I'm using excel specific functions, but I don't find it anywhere.
    THANKS.

    Hi,
the function Excel Set Graph Font.vi has an input parameter called Title that corresponds to the name of the axis selected through Axis Type parameter.
And the funtion Excel Insert Graph.vi has an input parameter called Graph Title.
You can see an example called Column Graph (Excel).vi in Find Examples>Toolkits and Modules>Report Generation.

  • Setting the title font and axis labels in a graph created with the Report Generation Toolkit

I'm using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office to generate Excel worksheets containing plots. Unfortunately, the default font size used in the plots is huge (see attached worksheet). I was able to use Excel Set Graph Font.vi to reduce the size of the axis labels, but there does not appear to be a function to do this to the title and legend. In addition, there does not appear to be a function to set the axis text labels. Before I write my own, has NI released additional functions to perform these tasks?

    Hello Zeidan
The graph title and legend font sizes can be changed by accessing a low level VI (Excel_Insert_Chart.vi) that is part of the excelsub.llb that is located at (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\_office). This VI is called dynamically from within the Excel Insert Graph.vi and it uses VI server technology to access the Excel exposed properties. Attached to this post is an image of the block diagram of this VI after I have modified it to set the font sizes of the title and legend to 15. The circles in the image represent what I had to add to accomplish this.

  • Plotting of graph with more than 4000 data points in Excel

    Hi All,
I am fairly new to labview world. I am trying to plot out line graphs of the results from my program into Excel worksheet. I have huge set of data points(10000) stored in each of 10 different worksheets in MS Excel workbook. I am trying to compile results into last sheet as graphical representation of all the various dataset into 10 different graphs.
My problem is that I am getting error because MS Graph does not allow me to plot more than 4000 rows or datapoints. Is there better and cleaner way of programming this? Or if some one can provide an example of how to handle such case. I'll appreciate any help.
My goal is to able to plot one set of data 1st then I will be able to run through various worksheets to compile into standalone results.
ERROR MESSAGE: "Report Generation Toolkit: Graphs you create or edit in Microsoft Graph cannot contain more than 4,000 rows or columns, including row and column headers. "
Also for example if we run Line Graph example and change the # of data points from 100 to 4000, we get same message.
    Error -41114 occurred at NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:Excel_Insert_Chart.vi -> NI_Excel.lvclass:Excel Insert Graph.vi -> Line Graph (Excel).vi
    Thanks,
    Saurabh

    Hi Dennis,
I am collecting waveform data from oscilloscope using labview in both data & graph format. So my program collects data for a particular operating condition & then saves the data on a worksheet. After it loads new operating condition & goes over same cycle. I have to save all the data points in excel for different use cases, which I am saving in different worksheet for each specific operating condition.
Since I already have data saved in excel at the end of test, I am trying plot each use case in the same report for study & presentaion after tests are finished. I have not been able to do so. I read the post which you have mentioned, seems like newer excel or labview version have same issue. I am using LV 9.0
I will try using decimation but if you have any better way of handling this problem, I'll appreciate if you can share that.
    Thanks for your help.

you most have eather a simple problem or your registry is flawed anyways did you try this found it on web.
Make sure that you are logged into the computer as local Administrator, or are part of the local Administrator group.
To identify which registry key is causing the problem use Regmon (a freeware tool published by SysInternals). Use Regmon to capture all registry access when regsvr32 is run. If an OpenKey request fails with Access Denied (which is listed by Regmon as ACCDENIED) then run regedt32 and check the permissions on that registry key. If necessary change the permissions on the key to grant local Administrators Full Control.

  • Graph in reports -- Values in Y-axes

I want to do a Gantt chart principle with in a report
to show the employee leaves against thier periods
the table structure simply is :
    EMP_ID
    EMP_NAME
    LEAVE_TYPE
    START_DATE
    END_DATE
so i want the EMP_NAME on the Y-axes , and the calendar date on the Y-axes,
and the bars will shows the start date and the end date against each employee
did anyone had this issue before?
is there a workaround with graphics ??????
as all knows the only data type allowed on the Y-axes is numbers.

  • Reports 10g: Creating a graph in a repeating frame

I'm preparing a mortality report in which I want, for every diagnosis, a pie chart which displays a breakdown by gender or ethnicity for every diagnosis.
Is someone aware of example code which illustrates how to do this in Reports 10g?
    Thanks in advance.

    hello,
you would do this by using the graph wizard in your paper layout (assuming you are creating a paper layout). when doing the INSERT>GRAPH you then click inside the repeating frame you want to insert the graph into and go from there.
tip: you get the best results if you actually make room for the graph in the repeating frame, before you invoke it and then click-and-drag the exact size you want your graph, when you invoke the wizard, otherwise the wizard will try to fit the graph in your frame as good as possibe, with potentially rearranging the itmes already in there.
    regards,
    ph.
