Inserting html link in web gallery

Trying to create a clickable web link in the Collection Description text field of the default lightroom flash web gallery. Using [url] or
tags don't seem to work. Any options?

I too am interested in this topic.

  • IWeb Link to Web gallery

    Hi everyone, my question is, is there a way to create a web gallery link in the link header of iWeb? I find this confusing that web gallery and iWeb don't have an option to link up. The gallery in iWeb is good, but don't have the same features that web gallery does. Since it is all hosted in the same place, it should be easy. I have HTML links in my blog now for it, but it isn't global. I have to insert an HTML link in each post. Any help would be great.
    Thanks.
    Jim

    well i suppose the way it's meant to be done is to make a new blank page (calling it web gallery or whatever), press web widget and put in your web gallery albums one by one. each album has a little mini slideshow going on (and skims) and clicking on that takes you to the web gallery album proper. the problem (as far as i'm concerned) is that by making the web widgets you are making your own web gallery index page which is not as nice as the actual web gallery index page which you are bypassing.
    or you could make a blank page (again calling it web gallery or whatever), leave it blank, publish it, and then edit the code so that it diverts straight to your web gallery index page. i don't know how to write code so i just copied the code on the index page and changed the destination to the web gallery address rather than the welcome page. this seems to work well. and if you know what you're doing i suppose to could also get the web gallery to open in another browser window.
    or you could make a blank page (again calling it web gallery or whatever), and insert an html widget with code to divert to the web gallery. the difficulty with this is then when someone clicks on web gallery (or whatever you have called it) in the navigation menu, you then see the blank page for a fraction of a second.
    anyway, i don't really know what i'm doing....i'm just trying stuff out!

  • Links to web gallery don't work from blog preview

    I used the idea by somebody in this forum (sorry, forgot who!) to have a blog with each entry linking directly to the various different view options of the .mac web gallery, like this:
    http://web.mac.com/kazazi/PiNoProductions/Photos/Entries/2007/9/1September2007.html
    However, now the links don't work anymore from the blog preview, because the #and & characters in the web gallery's url get scrambled.
    Does anybody know why this is or how I can fix this?

    i have the same problem. has anyone fixed this?
    thamks,

  • Adding a link to web gallery

    hi, i have an iWeb homepage that links to an aperture web gallery. is there anyway to put a link in the aperture web gallery that links back to my iWeb homepage? thanks. (running aperture 1.5 if that makes any difference)
    MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    I have managed to open the page in an html editor, but unfortunately, to keep the style constant, it means a lot of futzing around, like changing the page settings. Also, it is very difficult to get rid of the default underlined text, as I am not all that familiar with complex css coding and the way some of these html editors work. It is easy enough to just type the text in the main thumbnail caption block which is relatively easy to do, paste the link into the inspector of the html editor (I used Adobe Golive) and change the page settings so the text matched nicely.
    I would much rather Apple do a revision on Aperture to include this possibility as a metadata object (or am I missing something!)
    I must say that 1.5 is a great improvement, and I have begun using the application in earnest. I love the nice clean style sheets, and also the way the pages are numbered, and the data generated for the web is compact.
    Good one, Apple

  • How do I change filename for single-image HTML pages in web gallery for LR 3

    Hi,
    I would like to change the default filename for the HTML pages produced by Lightroom 3 in the web gallery. Specifically, I would like to remove the string "_large" from the HTML filename, so it corresponds exactly to the image filename.
    Specifically, the URL by default is like this:
    http://www.mysite.com/content/_c_EMT2146_large.html
    and I would like it to be like this
    http://www.mysite.com/content/_c_EMT2146.html
    I assume there is some way to make this change using the template editors, but I can't figure it out.
    thanks,
    James Riemermann

    Turns out there's a fairly easy way to change that on Windows, but I can't figure out an equivalent on a Mac, which is where the need is. On windows, I can edit (after backing up) the following two config files:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.6\Shared\webengines\default_html.lrwebengine\grid.html
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.6\Shared\webengines\default_html.lrwebengine\manifest.lrweb
    In which the "_large" string is appended and can be removed, following which the gallery works exactly as I would hope.
    But I can't find the equivalent files on the Mac, though I would assume they exist.

  • Iweb linking to web gallery

    is tehre a way to link to a web gallery and not have the MY GALLERY button show up. I only want the link to open one album and not allow access to all my albums.

    redcloud:
    No. You could password protect the other web galleries so if a viewer went into the main gallery they would not go any further. Otherwise create an iWeb album page from the album in iPhoto used to create the gallery like I did in this Album and Gallery Test page. There's an album and iPhoto web gallery on the page.

  • Link To Web Gallery doesn't work

    I created a password protected web gallery in Aperture, but when it has completed uploading, the URL to the gallery doesn't work, it never loads in Safari. When I go to My Gallery home page I see the icon for the gallery with the lock as it should be but when I click on it, I get the message " that access for this gallery is restricted and to contact the owner of the gallery" instead of asking me for the password.
    If a gallery is not password protected it shows up just fine. Am I missing something? Why doesn't the url for a password protected gallery work.

    Just as a note, it works fine in Firefox. It seems to be an issue with Safari and .Mac.

  • Html link on web page points to server volume - possible?

    Hi there
    I don't know if this is exactly the right forum for this question but I'm *just sure* someone where will be able to point me in the right direction!
    I'm working on an intranet blog for my company... a resource for company standards, workflow questions, and the like.
    I want to occasionally post a link there to a particular folder - where the afp/html link will open the served up folder.
    I tried
    <!--<a href="afp://Volumes/xxxx/xxx/xxxx">here</a>-->
    but if I'm not logged on that link returns a "Connection failed - the server may not exist or is not operational at this time".
    If I am logged on, the folder window will pop up, but I still get the error message.
    IDEALLY it would be good to somehow embed logon info in the link.
    Eventually, if we ever go public with this resource, I'll have to think about security issues posed by links to our server in a public website, but that's a problem for another day.
    Right now I just want to link to work behind our router. Any and all advice appreciated! Thanks!

    Matt, thanks for your advice, but I couldn't get your suggestion to work at all.
    Back to the drawing board - unless there are other suggestions lurking in the wings. (hint! hint!)

  • Obfuscating mailto link in Web Gallery

    hello...
    I'm using the Web module a lot, and want to use the "Contact Info" and "Mail or Web Link" fields.
    The thing is, I want to obfuscate my e-mail address so that mail scavenging bots can't collect it to generate spam. But I haven't been able to figure out how to do it in the Web module, at least in the Lightroom HTML Gallery (I'm still on Lightroom 1.4, soon to upgrade to 2).
    I can see that the html generated by the default values in the template is:
    <div id="contact">
    <a href="mailto:user@domain"> <span
    class="textColor" id="metadata.contactInfo.value">Contact Name</span>
    </a>
    </div>
    I use JavaScript to do the obfuscation, but if I put that in the Web or Mail Link field, I get:
    <div id="contact">
    <a href="./<script> obfuscated code here </script>"> <span
    class="textColor" id="metadata.contactInfo.value">Contact Name</span>
    </a>
    </div>
    which is just wrong. I don't really want to edit every generated index page to put in the contact data, so I was wondering if there's some way to persuade Lightroom to do it.
    The way the code should look (well, at least a way that seems to work) is something like:
    <a href="mailto:"><script> obfuscated code here </script></a>
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks for your help!
    -Eric

    Yep: get the link in the SDK forum, read the SDK and then edit the gallery template. That way you only need to enter the code once..

  • Inserting HTML into a web page

    On a previous thread I asked how to insert ones own code into a page created in iWeb.Some kind person told me how to do it,namely: find the html page in iMac on my hard drive,in TextEdit insert the code that I want and click Save.It all worked fine. However when I go back into my web page in iWeb and make a change followed by upload, the code that I inserted in TextEditor is wiped.Is there any way that I can insert my own code into a web page and not get it wiped when I make other changes in iWeb and upload to the server? Thanks in advance

    Nope, this is how it works. If you make a change to a page like this post-publishing, and later re-publish, you have to make the html changes again! Set up a Find/Replace command in MassReplaceIt and you can do this very quickly. You can save your queries so you can make all of your changes with one click the next time you save.

  • Flash nav inserting html links into div -example-

    I have made a flash navigation bar and I want it to link to
    the pages on the same page:
    http://www.cbsanswer.com/framecomeon.htm
    Of course I understand frames are outdated. I have read
    through CCS and read about SSI, but I cannot find how to open
    content into a Div. You can see what my objective is when you visit
    the website above.
    Two problems:
    1.) What is the codeing for linking a flash button to a
    corresponding div or frame? (I tried programing the MANUFACTURING
    link to open in the _Parent frame and than tried the name of the
    frame "mainFrame".)
    2.) Can I make sure that the entire navigation is viewable? I
    had to put this stupid scroll bar in.
    I appreciate any advice as I have already checked out every
    book on the subject and spent two days searching the internet.

  • CS4 Web Gallery, Uploaded gallery does not appear

    I was wondering if anyone can help me with the Web Gallery that Bridge CS4 produces.
    I have used Bridge CS4 to create a web gallery. After Bridge has finished creating it the result is a folder called Adobe Web Gallery. Inside that folder is an index.html file and a folder called resources. If I double click on the index.html file the web gallery opens in Safari (Mac). So all is good so far, it tests OK from my hard drive.
    Then I upload it to my ISP server using Fetch, as I did when using the Photoshop CS3 web gallery automate feature, which is upload the index.html file and the resources folder with all of its content into a folder on my isp members area. I then create a link to the index.html file. When I try the link it produces a blank page in Safari called " Adobe Web Gallery", and the rest of the page is blank.
    When I upload the files with Fetch I copy the exact structure as they appeared in the folder on my hard drive. I have tried to upload the gallery directly from Bridge CS4 but Bridge does not seem able to create a connection with my ISP.
    In the meanwhile I am still using Photoshop CS3 to do my web galleries, I 'd just like to get the CS4 version operating as it looks like a better product.
    I am using a Mac Pro Quad duo 2.8 with 4 G Ram.
    regards
    David

    Try it this way:
    Re-name the folder called Adobe Web Gallery to a name which is more appropriate for its contents; then upload the complete AWG Folder, with all of its contents, to your ISP Server.
    Now create a Link (with an appropriate label) on the main index page (Home page) on your site and link that "Link" to the index.html in your new Gallery folder.

  • Allowing customer to select their picks from a web gallery and creating a new Collection.

    I would like to be able to send my customer with a link to web gallery with my first picks of the photo shooting for their selection.
    Customer would be able to select, from the web gallery their favorites.
    The service /plugin should be able to then, send me some sort of information that would allow me to automate the creation of another Collection only with their picks in LighRoom 4.
    I am using juicebox and love it, but I could not find a way to do this. Any suggestions?

  • How to Insert Web Gallery in Web Page?

    I created a Web Photo Gallery in Adobe Bridge CS4. I want to INSERT it in a web page using Dreamweaver. The problem is that the Web Gallery is an index.html file and appears to be a web page itself. But I need it to just be part of a web page that contains my background images, texts and links. The Web Gallery is NOT a flash animation.
    Thanks,
    Ief

    With so many questions about this, I decided to create a test gallery using Bridge and I must admit, it's not as easy as one would think to incorporate it into an existing site.  Admittedly I didn't spent too much time on this, but I agree, it should be much easier to implement.

  • Aperture web gallery - how to link back to main page from iWeb?

    Okay, this may be simple, but I can't figure it out.
    I created and uploaded a few web pages with iWeb to my dot.Mac account (web.mac.com/f8lee50) just to get a feel for things. I then created a web gallery with Aperture and uploaded it - naturally Aperture generated a URL for the gallery, which I set up as a link on my "Photos from Hawaii" page (the link is the word 'this' in the second paragraph, if you wawnt to look).
    Okay, so this gets me from the "photos from Hawaii" page to the gallery, and within the gallery I can jump to the various images etc. But how does one navigate back to the "Photos from Hawaii" page from whence they came? Is there some sort of smart link that can be inserted (by Aperture?) that will send the viewer back to the main homepage? Or are the Aperture galleries essentially dead ends?

    Richard, thanks for responding - I'll check that tutorial.
    And thank you for the kind words, me100finn. I have not played with any variables as far as layout on the gallery (I did a bunch of stuff with the books, but the web gallery seems far less flexible) so I cannot answer your wuestion about the gray shadows.
    Steve, thank you for the additional clarification (and the hint about spaces in URLs) - I guess what this all boils down to is that the web galleries from Aperture are not all that useful when they are meant to be a part of a bigger overall site. I'm not sure of what you meant when you say they have little forward or backward navigation in them - at least you can click on a thumbnail to get to an image, click next or previous or the grid to get back to the thumbnail galery. But, 'twould seem that hand coding HTML pages (the very thing I was hoping to avoid) is the only way to really integrate them. Given that, I gues the better approach will be just to use iWeb to load the images anyway.
    Well, folks, thank you all for your answers. Until I do a re-do, I guess the back button is the way to go (which, for the record, I did sorta figure out myself
