Inserting images into a PDF

I would like the end user to able to upload there logo into a designated area in the PDF.
Short version...
User clicks on button in the PDF and a dialog box appears so the user can choose thier logo. It appear in the designated area.
Is this possible? if so, can you point in the right direction.
Thanks

Moved to Forms.
I do not belive this is possible with Acrobat forms. It may be possible with LiveCycle Designer forms. LiveCycle Designer was never included with the Mac version of Acrobat Pro and is no longer included with Acrobat Pro XI on Windows.

Can I insert image into a .pdf using InDesign....

You can place a PDF as an image in InDesign, then add more content and export a new PDF.
There are also commercial plugins available that will allow you to open a PDF as editable objects in InDesign.

  • Insert an image into a pdf in preview

    Hi All,
I would like to know hoe to insert an image into a pdf in preview.
Thank you in advance for any opinion !

The only way I know to do that would be with Adobe Acrobat which is rather expensive.  Or, you can try the roundabout method:
1- open the pdf in Preview and begin a Print Process.
    2 - do a Print ➙ PDF ➙ Save PDF to iPhoto
NOTE: works with anything you can print.  Creates a 200 dpi jpeg image of each page and saves it to iPhoto.
3 - use a 3rd party image editor or Pages from iWork to add the transparent background gif or png logo to the image of the page.
4 - to get it back to a pdf do a Print ➙ Save as PDF.
If you don't have the Save PDF to iPhoto in the PDF menu you can download it from  Toad's Cellar.  There are two versions, one 200 dpi and one 300 dpi.

  • Adding images into a pdf as pages

I need to add images into a pdf but want to do it in a way that when I add them, it will resize the image to the page size.  The images are large format when inserted.  Anyone know what to change in the settings to automatically resize the images at insertion?

    Hi,
The Professional version of Acrobat (8.x & 9.x) provides the means of creating a "blank page".
In either, opening the Acrobat Help and clicking on "Search" lets you enter the string:
    "blank page".
In both (8 & 9) the first (top) return is "Create a PDF from a blank page".
From the menu (for both releases) -
File > Create PDF > From Blank Page
will result in a blank PDF being created by Acrobat.
From Acrobat Preferences (discussed in the installed Help and in the online LiveDocs Help - a help system that reflects ongoing updating) you can provide some configure control for the blank page.
Edit > Preferences > select Category "New Document".
Alternatively, you could set up a desired page size in an authoring application and output a "blank" PDF for use.
    Placing an image –
    One way to do this.
With the PDF open, open the Advanced Editing menu and select the TouchUp Object Tool
or use Tools > Advanced Editing > TouchUp Object Tool
With the TouchUp Object Tool selected & mouse cursor in the PDF page, right click for the context menu.
Select Place Image (Shift+G in windows while context menu is present can also be used).
In the Browse dialog, locate and select the desired image.
Once the image has been placed to the PDF page it (the image) will have black "grab" squares at each corner.
Use these to size the image. With mouse cursor in the image the up-down-left-right cursor icon appears.
Use this to position the image.
    Button Tool –
    AA8Pro:
Tools > Forms > Button Tool
    Also, on the Forms Toolbar
    AA9Pro:
Tools > Advanced Editing > Buttons
Also, on the Advanced Editing Toolbar
Over the years the depth and breadth of features available with Acrobat (Pro & Pro Extended in particular) have
grown dramatically. All the discrete topics are in Acrobat Help, arranged in a pretty logical hierarchy.
Unfortunately, as you allude to, locating the individual topics and establishing a practicable understanding of how
disparate topics come together to support specific tasks can be a challenge.
Fortunately, this affords forum participants the opportunity to share the "how-to" understanding they've acquired.
(by study/application, inadvertent stumbling across it, or learning from someone else's post )
    Be well...

  • I have Adobe Pro 9 and I can't insert pages into a PDF created by Adobe Pro 8

I've looked at the other discussions about not being able to insert pages into a PDF, and tried all the suggestions, but to no avail. I think the problem is that the original PDF was created in Adobe 8, and I have Adobe 9. When I open the PDF in Adobe Pro 9, the security screen says that editing is not allowed, and the screen is greyed out so that I can't change the settings. When I open the same PDF in Adobe Pro 8, the security screen says "No Security".
I also checked the "Documents" screen in Edit -> Preferences, and changing the "View Documents in PDF/A" to Never doesn't help.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

That would be a question for Adobe support. Firefox does advise users when their Acrobat plugin is out of date, but the actual update is done by Adobe.

  • Inserting Image into a BLOB column in Oracle9i

    Hi,
I am unable to insert image into a BLOB column. I am using Forms 6i REL 2 and Oracle 9i. But I could do it on Oracle 8i with same Forms version.
Same thing is true for CLOB in 9i.
Would you please try with this code?
    TABLE
    Create table x
    (Id number,
    Name CLOB,
    Pict BLOB);
    WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigge
    declare
         x varchar2(265);
    begin
         x := get_file_name;
         read_image_file (x, 'GIF', 'picture.pict');
    end;
    Take care,
    Tarek

Forms 9i and Oracle 9i work fine together for this case.

  • Inserting images into a movie that are not photos

Is there anyway to insert images into an iMovie (such as *.gif) files? Alternatively, is there anyway to insert powerpoint slides into an iMovie (because I can easily get the images into power point).
Can I put an image in one of the title frames or transitions?
    Thanks
    Dan

I am not sure about gif (but you could easily try it). JPEGS (.jpg) work and .png work for sure.
It is straightforward to save a powerpoint page as a jpeg.

  • Correct workflow when inserting images into text, InDesign CS4

    Hi,
I am new to InDesign and I have a problem regarding a really basic thing and I would be very grateful for help.
I am writing an article which is about 10 pages long. It consists mostly of text. I have finished writing and now I want to add some illustrations with descriptions. I've already figured out it's best to insert images into the text frame so they behave as "anchored objects" and they move together with text when I add or delete something on previous pages. Now I would like to place TWO OR MORE images, one next to each other, in a line. This is a bit tricky but I created an object style with Position: Custom in "Anchored object options" and it works more or less fine. This works great but now it would be hard to add descriptions to these images that would still be anchored.
So I created something different. I made an empty rectangle frame, a small text frame under it and grouped them. Then I placed it in my master text frame and basically did the same thing as for previously described images. Now I place the newly loaded image in the empty rectangular frame and add text in the empty text frame. BUT now I have problems with frame size for different-size images.
What if I have a REALLY LONG article and want to add LOTS of images with decriptions that would be anchored in the text so I can edit previous pages? I can do this my way, but it's extremely uncomfortable and takes ages. Is there any comfortable, non-destructive workflow for doing such things?
    Sorry for my English.

    Hi,
    I would recommend following steps:
    Place one or more images
    Don't anchor them yet.
Arange them (the images) relatively to each other, add a text frame and arrange them correct relatively to the images.
    Group images and text
Copy (or cut) them into the clippboard
Set the curser into the text where it should flow
    Paste it
Adjust the anchored object (the group)
You need to group several objects to anchor them together as one anchor.
    Further recommendation:
For the images I would specify an object style for fitting, stroke, corner optione.
For text frames I would specify an object style for text object options, like text offset, and used paragraph style, no boarder, etc.
For the group I would spcify an object style which leaves above mentioned settings undefined (option field is grea or has a dash). But the anchored position of the whole group and text wrapping should be specified.

...snipped...Not very nice code... why create an empty image row, then lock it (it is already locked by the uncommitted insert statement), and then update it again? Not very efficient or sensible.
image is on local machine. When a row is created on the server from user input on some PC, who supplied that input? Who read the user's keyboard input on that PC to obtain the values for the columns for the row to create?
Did PL/SQL read the keyboard of that remote PC? Of course not. The client program on that PC read the keyboard input. It then made a client call to the Oracle server. It supplied the data entered via the keyboard by the user to the Oracle server (using a PL/SQL call or using a SQL statement call to Oracle).
Now why would a local image data on that PC be treated any differently than the keyboard data on that PC? How can you expect PL/SQL code running on the Oracle server, to read that image data from the remote PC when the same PL/SQL code is incapable of reading keyboard input from that very same PC?
You need to review your understanding of client-server and how it pertains to using Oracle within client-server architecture.

  • Inserting images into indicators

    hello,
i wanted to know if there is any way to insert images into indicators???
for example if iam having an indicatoor showing the speed of motor shaft is there any way by which i can have an image of a rotating shaft rotating at different speeds ( depend on some parameters back ground)  instead of just the numbers displaying the speed.
    thanks in advance,
    vijay

Take a look at the attached example which uses a picture ring.
You can do various kinds of animation by using property nodes or the picture control, but that is already more complicated.
Also, have a look at this for some more examples.

  • Goto saving images into a pdf and a message comes up " cannot start print job"

I an having a problem with my lightroom 4- I goto save my images into a PDF and it comes up " cannot start print job" and wont even save the images. What can be the problem, ive never had the situation before.

    Hi Sasha,
Using Acrobat, you can create forms that are called AcroForms. The forms created in LC Designer are called XFA (XML Forms Architecture) and are more data centric. While both will open in Acrobat, they are completely different animals.
The issue with users not being able to save the data with Reader is that the form is not Reader Enabled. You can Reader Enable a form using one of two methods:
Reader Enable the form using Acrobat Professional (V8 or below) or Acrobat Standard (V9 or above). Note there are licensing restrictions.
Reader Enable the form using the full server product Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2.5. This involves additional licensing fees.
Have a look here: http://assure.ly/etkFNU, at the features that are available depending on whether the user has Acrobat or Reader; if the form is Reader Enabled; and how the form was Reader Enabled.
The issue of Reader Enabling would also apply to AcroForms.
I don't think that you need to dive into LC Designer just yet, as forms created in LC Designer face the same issues about Reader Enabling as forms developed in Acrobat.
If your usage complies with the EULA, then you could Reader Enable your form in Acrobat.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

          *     THE POINT - what should I write here, please consult description followed by the class.
        } //appendText
} //classThe appendText method simply appends the text in text pane with desired color. Now I want to know what should I write at point THE POINT so that at end of appended string an icon (suppose end.gif) is added and is displayed in text pane. Simple?
