Hi,
i refer page no 18 of SAP book Object Networking (CS-BD/PM-EQM-ON) SAP AG Release 4.6C,
To select a particular link from the list, (IN18)select the object link and choose one of the following options:
Goto --> Change/Display --> link, You reach the object link data screen.
Goto -->Create notification  --> Notification type
You reach the screen where you can create a maintenance notification for the link. If a link object is entered for the selected link, the system automatically uses it as a reference object for the notification.
Goto --> Create order
You reach the screen where you can create a maintenance order for the link. If a link the system automatically uses it as a
reference object for the order.

  • Is there a limit on number of object links to DIR, and any impacts of this

    Hello All,
Can you please let us know if there is any limit on the No of Object links to be maintained in the Object Link tab of DIR,
Our major Concern comes as there is One DIR logo / symbol, which is maintained in most of the Material Master around 1000s
and also the same DIR is used in all the Service and maintenance Notification as an Attachment, so the list of Object link in DIR Object link tab  is going beyond control above 10000s,
i wanted to know if there is any limit on no of Object links to be maintained in DIR object links, and is there any impact on DMS functionality if the list is ever increasing,
( also can i know if there is any workaround that the DIR is only displayed going in to Material master or Notifications but the same is not listed in the DIR object links tab as here it is going on increasing,)
    Thanks and kind regards
    Kumar S

    Hello Christoph and Every one,
Thanks for the responses given, and providing a hint not to have many Object links, as it could be an performance issue going to the DMS DIR Object link TAB,
But in this particular case we are not assigning the Objectlinks going by the DMS Object links TAB, but it is done in other way round, going by the Equipment or Notification Screens,
There are few Health and safety document ( Which is created as a DIR in DMS) which needs to be assigned in  Most of the Equipment and the new notifications created, and this document DIR is assigned from the Equipment and notification Screen,
And we may not be interested to go to the DIR to browse and Assign the Object Links, so as we do not frequently go and check the DIR or Use DIR Object link TAB for Object Link assignment will it in any ways cause performance Issue here??
And also as asked earlier can we have a one way attachment like the DIR is Visible in the Equipment or Notification Screen, but the DIR is not adding up the Equipment or Notification details in its Object links TAB, (by development or it is totally illogical to ask for)
    Thanks and Kind regards

    Hi,
You can create New objects using the T.code: SE80.
You can make an object link to SAP objects that are not shown in the possible entries list. To do this, proceed as follows:
    1. In the standard system, there are already two special screens for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 for the linked SAP object.
You must create two new screens with the same number for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140. The processing logic must follow that of screen 1204 in program SAPLVC130.
    2. Create function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = object name) If the object can be classified, this function module already exists.
    Thank You,
    Manoj

    Hi,
from my point of view the best way to manage these documents in the HR transaction PA10, PA20, PA30 instead linking documents to HR objects.
In the standard there is no suitable object for document-object links. Please see all the available SAP standard objects in SE80, function group CV130 under screens.
So you can go to PA30 and use the service for object button in the upper left corner. Here you can add business documents for each person.

  • Notification: Free Reference Object (BADI)

    Hi All,
When we define Screen areas in Notification Header for any notification type, in Screen Type Object drop down there option O550 Object: Free Reference Object (BADI).
    Can anyone tell:
    1. What is the meaning of it
    2. Does this changes the options in Screen Structure in Extended View (while defining the screen areas)
    3. 'Free reference means, can we define our own fields in this
Your answer will be really helpful.

I suppose you can use this screen type object to define your own subscreen for the notification header (the three lines above the tabstrip). I played around with it a little, but I didn't do the complete implementation. There is a BADI "QM00_SUBSCR_5000". When you implement that BADI you can specify a custom program and dynpro for the screen header. Also, you will have to implement the methods to transport the notification data between your custom subscreen and the calling program.
This is the documentation of the BADI "QM00_SUBSCR_5000":
You can use this BAdI to implement the user-defined reference object screen according to your requirements. This implementation is dependent on the notification type.
To perform this implementation, you must first have selected the value 0550 (object: user-defined reference object) in the "Object" screen type in Customizing for the notification type. You do this when maintaining the screen areas for the notification header.
This Business Add-In allows you to display and maintain data related to notifications (VIQMEL).
The following notification data is available in the subscreen that is called in the Business Add-In implementation:
    VIQMEL Notification header
    TQ80 Notification type
    MODUS Processing mode  ( H = Add, V = Change, A  = Display)
You can return the complete VIQMEL (with changes) to the calling program.
An active implementation of the Business Add-In already exists in the PLM Addon for the notification types QS (stability study with material reference and QR (stability study without material reference), which are delivered with the standard Customizing.
Use this active implementation as a template for your customer-specific implementations.
If you do not use the PLM Addon package, and want to implement this Business Add-In, use the delivered sample coding for the implementation of the methods as a template.

  • Object Links fields grey for Production Order,BOM header,BOm item

    Hello Friends,
    1) In DMS Object links tab ,for objects BOM header,BOM item,Production order fields are grey even though necessary settings are done. Is this standard or I am missing some config.
I did the similar settings for other objects like material master, vendor master, claim etc and I am able to assign these objects in Object links tab.
    2) In Production order I can assign the existing document but can't create document from Production order.I maintain value 1 in img Maintain screen for object link --> Auth.
Define doc type --> Define object links --> create document = 2 ( Use Transaction to Create Document)
I can create a document from other objects like Material Master,Claim,PO,PR with similar settings.

    Regards
    Abhijit A. Pachgade

As u right said this is a standard.
generally a document can be attched from the function T-code or from the DMS T-code cvo1n, through the object link tab page. * BOTH WAYS POSSIBLE*
but for BOM, production order it is only one way, u can attach at the function T-code level like co01....ect  ONLY ONE WAY
especially for PP transation, its one way

  • Save status when adding cARC link under Object Links Tab

    Hi Experts,
I want to know how to save status for cARC or SAP spec links added as Object links under the object Links tab.
Even though I maintain the status it is not saved except for WBS elements.
    Best Regards,
    Arti.

Do you mean that you have multiple object link types?
I am having the same problem.
For object link type A, I can set and save the status (severity) correctly, but for object link types B and C, it does not work. The status can be set, and it is shown on the UI, but it is not saved correctly, so that the status is gone when I reload the project.
    Maybe somebody can help here?

  • UWL object link missing parameters when jump to external page via portal

We configured SWFVISU in ECC to jump out to an external application via a portal page. Our resultant URL looks like this:

BUT the work item object link parameter i.e. Sales Order No. does not get passed/attached to the string. What are we missing?

It is passed as an implicit UWL parameter and will not be displayed in URL. You can read this parameter from webdynpro application.

  • Linking document info record and purchase order

    Hi all,
I hope that someone can help me because I'm having a problem with creating links between document info records and purchase orders.
By default in SAP I can create links between document info record and purchase order ITEMS! When I create that link, I can see it in document info record under Object links tab, but when I double click on the number of purchase order nothing happens (I expected that this purchase order will open).
    Why is that so?
Why can't I access purchase order from document info record even though the link exists?
The other question is about creating object links to purchase orders, not purchase order items! Is it possible to link document info record with purchase order?
I would appreciate quick answer because we're in the middle of a project and we're stuck with that problem.
    Thanks!

    Hi Karlo,
As you mentioned, object links could be linked to Purchase order items. In customisation you maintain these entries under the node SPRO > Cross Application Components> Document Management--> Control Data --> Define Document Types --> Define Object Links.
There are many links in the standard system (possible entries).
The system automatically determines the screen number (dialog box) where the key data for the object is maintained for document maintenance.
You can check the screens when the screen entry is missing or contains errors by doing the following:
Start the Object Navigator and display the objects for the development class  CV.
Expand the function group 130. The structure nodescreens lista all screens that can be used for object links.
You can make an object link to SAP objects that are not shown in the possible entries list. To do this, proceed as follows:
In the standard system, there are already two special screens for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 for the linked SAP object.
You must create two new screens with the same number for the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 .
The processing logic must follow that of screen 1204 in program SAPLVC130.
Create function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = object name)
If the object can be classified, this function module already exists .
Otherwise copy the function module for linking equipment DOCUMENT_CHECK_EQUI and change it as required for the new object.
Hope the above instruction helps in solving your problem,
    Sojan

  • OLE objects linked to MS Word/MS Excel do not update in InfoView

I am facing the following problem:
    - Embedded a Word document as linked OLE object into a crystal report and stored it to Enterprise repository.
    - When opening the report with CR Developer from my workstation, links are updated and changes made in the .doc file are reflected, the report is updated
    - However when displaying and refreshing the report in InfoView changes aren't reflected.
The OLE link (type document) is set to update automatically. I tried to store the report to the enterprise repository with and without data. Yet no difference - no update in either case. Neither scheduling nor opening and refreshing the report in InfoView helps.
I further inserted an OLE object linked to a bmp image, and for the image refreshing works, even in InfoView
So am I doing something wrong?
Some threads in this forum indicate that only OLE linked pictures (bmp, jpg) can be refreshed dynamically, e.g.
[Dynamically change path to OLE file]
Others indicate that it is also possible to dynamically refresh OLE objects linked to .doc, e.g.
[Re: Link to Word document doesn't refresh when running from Infoview]
    - Is it at all possible to dynamically display the contents of .doc or .xls files in a CR when viewing and refreshing the report in InfoView (without the need to reopen and resave the report with CR Developer first) ?
    - We are using BOE XI3.1 SP3 and Crystal Reports 2008 SP3.  On the BOE server Crystal Reports Developer is not installed. Can this be a prerequisite for the OLE links to update in InfoView?
    - Any other suggestions?
    Thanks
    Konrad

    Hi Don,
Thank you for the quick reply.
    - You say that this works in CR Designer. That's right. As described above, even I can open the report with CR Designer and the links are getting updated.
    - However if I do not reopen and resave the report with Designer ... if I just open and refresh the report in InfoView to get the updated information from the files ... changes are not shown. I face this problem ONLY with ole links to .doc and .exe. OLE links to image formats such as .bmp do work. WHY?
My files are already stored locally to the BO server and the (changed) image files are read and updated from exactly this directory. But not the linked Excel and Word files...
    Thanks

  • Object Link to Inspection Point (QAPP)

I am trying to set up a new obejct link to an inspection point.  So, to start with I am trying to create a bespoke screen that will perform exactly as screen 204 the Equipment master object link.
I have created two new screens SAPLCVIN 9000 and SAPLCV00 9000 by copying SAPLCVIN 204 and SAPLCV00 204.  I have assigned these screens  to the new object type QAPP and assigned this to the document type.  I have copied the EQUI settings in the Key Fileds table and assigned them to QAPP.
I have also copied the function module OBJECT_CHECK_EQUI into OBJECT_CHECK_QAPP but have not yet made any changes to the code in this function module.  When I try to view the new screens in CV02N I get a short dump telling me that DYNPRO 9000 is not found.
Presumably this is because I haven't made any code changes to the function module.  At this stage I haven't even changed any of the fields from screen 204 I'm just trying to eliminate the abap dump. Can anybody help me with this please?

    1.  Copy FM QAPP_CUST_IP_PROPOSAL and use this in your inspec. point identire conguration in the Default for user fields in results recording.  You have to provide all the logic in the FM to identify the next serial number.    You can also us a copy of the FM QAPP_CUST_IP_CHECK in the verification of user fields to check to make sure the serial number wasn't already specified in an earlier lot is the next in the series.  Again, you have to put in the correct logic.
    2.  I think you are looking for the drop down list in this question.  Use FM QAPP_CUST_IP_F4 for this.  You can either develop a new new FM for each inspec point identifer you use, and hard code the values into the FM, or create a Z table that your FM references to look up the appropriate values for the insepction point and user field.
    3.  Same as number 2 above.

  • Object Link to Customer Service Order

I have setup the object link in DMS and was able to insert the Customer Service Order to a Document Number. However, I do not see the Document Number when I view a Customer Service Oder. What is the correct path to view the Document Number from a Customer Service Order?

    Hi Christoph,
I have already maintained the screens for object link (AFKO). I created a new screen as well and therefore I was able to assign the Customer Service Order in transaction (CV01N/CV02N).
However, when I go to the Customer Service Order (IW32 / IW33), I wasn't able to see the Doc Info Rec number.
