Inserting Powerpoint slideshow on webpage

I have a Powerpoint slideshow (.pps) file that I have inserted as a hyperlink on a webpage. When you click on the link, it comes up with a question re open, save, save as. When you select Open it opens the file as if it were a .ppt file i.e. it doesn't automatically start the slide show. Is there any way of getting it to run the slide show without any extra user intervention (the same as if you just click on it in Windows Explorer for example)? I have Dreamweaver CS3 (I know this is well out of date but I can't really upgrade at the moment).

OK - I'm sort of getting there although it's not the look I was aiming for (having to click options to allow blocked content and Active X - suspect some of my site visitors will not want to do this). I can get the slides to display on the webpage but I can't get them to automatically advance. Even if I click on the 'Slide Show' option in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, I still only see the current slide and it doesn't change.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You can use PP to make a movie of the presentation, or while viewing all the page's thumbnails do a Print->PDF->Save PDF to iPhoto. Then use the jpg files of each slide of your presentation in an photo page in iWeb like I did with this iPhoto book: iPhoto Book as an iWeb Slideshow. Of course this method will not include any music or animation you might have in in the presentation.
There's also a Make a web page option which you might be able to incorporate into your web site using this technique: Embed One Site Within an iWeb Page.
Overall, I think a movie would probably be the better option but do give the others a look.

Powerpoint slideshow problem

I did not know what other discussion group to put this on.
I made a Powerpoint slideshow presentation with 16 jpeg slides. This went fine. Now, I want to insert a song (.wav) file to play as long as the slideshow is running. When I try to do this using "Insert/Movies and Sounds/Sound from file....", the music plays only on the first slide. If I choose the file using the "Side Show/Slide Transition" and apply it to all slides, then the song starts to replay each time the next slide starts. I cannot get it to play continuously throughout the entire slideshow. Can anyone help me with this?

My song is 153 sec long. In the Slide Transition menu, under "Advance slide", I have "Automatically after 4 seconds". So, the 16 slides consume about 64 seconds, well within the length of the song. But, it still restarts fresh each time a new slide appears. I even tried to save this as a .pps (now a .ppt), with no success.
Is there anything in the Preferences that has to be reset? I note that I cannot change the "Provide feedback with sound to screen elements". If I check this, it defaults back to unchecked. Any other suggestions?

How do I insert Fireworks Slideshow (non flash) into Dreamweaver?

I have been trying to import a slideshow from flash that I created from the built in template. I used the player that does not require a flash plug in and I cannot figure out how to insert it into my webpage in Dreamweaver. When I post the code directly it says that I have to enable java script? I am new to dreamweaver/fireworks and coding. I know that it should be simple, but I have not been able to figure it out. Thank you for any help you can offer!

There isn't currently a way to insert something like that in Reflow, so your best best is to export the code from Reflow, then edit it in another tool such as Dreamweaver to add the extra content.

Recording from isight into imovie during powerpoint slideshow?

I'm setting up a visual perception experiment in which people see objects presented during a powerpoint slideshow. I would like to use my iSight camera to record their faces (their eye movements actually) into iMovie during this task without the iMovie window interrupting the powerpoint presentation. Is this possible?

How do I insert video into my webpage?

I am using Dreamweaver 8. I have taken my camcorder video and uploaded it to youtube and copied the mp4 file to my hard drive.
I have created a page with several videos on the page. I created a screenshot of the video and sized it to the appropriate size. I then created a link to the video mp4 file. However it opens in a separate page.
I want to have the video open on the same page in the same location as the screenshot. Click on the image and it just starts playing.
I notice that I can get it to do this if it is a flash (.flv) file but since all of my videos are mp4 that won't work.
How do I insert video into my webpage? Do I convert the mp4 files to flash? How? What do I do?

Can Keynote play PowerPoint slideshows with audio intact?

I mean iOS Keynote on iPad and OS X Keynote on Mac OS X! To play PowerPoint slideshows with built in audio and not just throw up slides.

Keynote isn't at all good at dealing with audio, so whether it's worth trying largely depends on the content of your powerpoints and how many you need to transfer.
If it were me, I think I'd look at using OpenOffice - it may make a better job of things for you.

HELP PLEASE: .swf Controls take over in Powerpoint Slideshow

I have a .swf embedded within an Powerpoint slideshow. When I
use the controls I've set within the .swf file (pause, play, replay
animation) I no longer can use the Powerpoint slideshow mode
controls (forward or backward to next slide). If I don't touch the
controls within the .swf, letting the .swf animation play through,
the Powerpoint slideshow controls work fine.
Can anyone offer any workarounds that may enable me to use
the .swf file controls while in Powerpoint slideshow mode, yet not
loose the ability to advance to the next slide (using the arrow
keys) in Powerpoint?

I'm not an expert however if I understand the links correctly, it's saying that you are missing the .webm extension for apache which is server side. I'm not a dev geek so I really can't dive into it with any type of authority.
I viewed it with IE and I got "invalid source". Which means the files maybe corrupted, something is just slightly off in your coding, or you need to add that .webm extension (which I have no idea how to do). It seems highly unlikey that your server is not set up for this though >
For some reason this doesn't seem right to me. If the files are .mp4, ogg and vp8 then what is the reference to shockwave?

Inserting iphoto slideshow into fcp project

Is it possible to insert an iphoti slideshow into a fcphd 4.5 project? A friend hired me to create a slideshow for her son's funeral and then to videotape the funeral. Now I would like to insert the slideshow into the video of the funeral but haven't the slightest clue how to do so.
Any help would be MOST appreciated!

Sorry. Another reason not to do the slideshow in iPhoto.
One alternative, I guess, is to burn the iPhoto slideshow to DVD using the Share -> Send to iDVD command. Then you can rip that DVD back into QuickTime using DVDxDV or ffmpegX or something else.

DVD with powerpoint slideshow/movie

I'm trying to make a DVD for someone for their birthday, i've already added a movie from my iPhotos, but am trying to additionally add a powerpoint slideshow to the DVD. I saved the powerpoint as a "movie" as recommended when I looked in iDVD help. However, when I try moving the file into the page i want, a tab keeps popping up saying that the file is unsupported, and is an unknown format. It is saved under Movies, and I have no idea what the problem is.
My second problem was that when I was making the movie in powerpoint, I timed the slides to be shown for certain amount of time. I wanted to add a single song, instead of a soundtrack to the slideshow that would loop as it plays. However, powerpoint will not let me do that either. All of my songs come up grey. I'm not sure if its because they are in mp4 format, but if thats the case, I don't understand why it is not compatible for an Apple-tailored program.
Can anyone help me please?? I need to finish this before friday, and would appreciate ANY help, i am clueless!!!

What I would do is export each powerpoint slide as a still image (640x480 TIFF). Bring the images into iMovie to create a slideshow and add the audio there.
You could also use the images to create a slideshow with music in iDVD.
