Inserting rows and columns: an irregular IDCC procedure
In tables, when inserting a row/column something happens:
a) if it is inserted a «row below», Indesign CC selects the two columns (1) (above and below) and this a problem if an operation of copy/paste is involved. The user is obliged (to miss a tempo) and must deselect the adjacent row in order to have only one row selected to insert the pasteboard element required.
BUT if the row is inserted above no more than this new one is selected. (2)
Idem with rows: (3) if inserting to the left and (4) if inserting to the right.
It seems more adequate if ID only select the new one element inserted.
Since you're asking a question about the GridView control I would recommend posting to the ASP.NET Web Forms Data Controls forum:

Dynamically creating table and inserting rows and columns using JSP
Hi,
I'm using mysql and JSP to create web interface for my forms/tables. I wanna create the table dynamically depending on the data in the table and for each particualar record. and these values shud be loaded on the form after loading from the databaes as soon as the form loads.
also i want to have a button which shud add new rows dynamically. and same one for columns.
how do i calculate the values across the rows on the forms
I'm new to JSP. Please point me in the right direction...any tutorials or code will be helpful.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Ayeshau write the code in sequence:
1 write jdbs to select count(* )from table
2 put in array e.g. String doc_no=new String[count];
3 write jdbs to select * from table with condition
//for no. of records just write
for(int j=0;j<(count);j++){
<% while(rs4.next()){
doc_no=rs4.getString(2);
date1[i]=rs4.getString(3);
doc_type[i]=rs4.getString(4);

cheque[i]=rs4.getString(6);
rate[i]=rs4.getInt(7);
deb_qty[i]=rs4.getInt(8);
cre_qty[i]=rs4.getInt(9);
deb_amt[i]=rs4.getInt(10);
cre_amt[i]=rs4.getInt(11);

//rs4.close();
for(int j=0;j<(count);j++){

Help! Inserting a 1-D comment array into a 2-D string array at specified row AND column
Hello everyone,
I am writing a 2-D string array to excel and i need a way to add comments to my file like this:
SLAM NAME G Level Comments
1 RALF 26
1 RALF 26
1 RALF 26
1 RALF 26
For some reason, i cannot specify a row AND column to write because:
When i use replace array subset it only replaces 1 element at my index.
When i use replace array subset with a loop, it creates empty spaces until it reaches the end of the array it is replacing.
When i use Insert into array: i cannot wire 2 inputs for row and column.
In my complete VI i will need to write from row 1-1001, a different comment from 2-2002, a different comment from 3-3003, etc until a stop condition is met so i need to figure out how to do this programatically and not have it replace any elements outside of the range or it will override previous commetns.
I am at a loss of what to do. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Is it possible to switch the rows and columns?
Is it possible to switch the rows and columns of a table? The reason I ask is that it would be easier for me to input the data with the number at the top of a column and the fields going down. But it would be easier to read the data with the number on the left and the fields going to the right. Is it possible to switch a table in this way?

It sounds to me as though you wish to transpose a table so that the original is changed from rows to columns and from columns to rows, as in the following:
Table 1
A B C
========
1 o p q
2 r s t
3 u v w
Table 2
A B C
========
1 o r u
2 p s v
3 q t w
You are right - it would be nice to have a menu item to magically transpose a selected block of cells. But there isn't one. So...
One way to solve this is to use the index() and transpose() functions to accomplish row and column cell transposition. If you are going to use a 1:1 cell correspondence and change the header columns and rows also, you can use this:
=INDEX(TRANSPOSE(Table # :: <range>),ROW(),COLUMN())
where Table # and <range> is substituted as in the following fashion:
=INDEX(TRANSPOSE(Table 1 :: $A$1:$C$3),ROW(),COLUMN())
Create a second table. Copy the modified formula above with the appropriate substitutions, select the range you wish to have your transposition inserted into (must match the transposed cell dimensions of the original range), paste the forumula and voila! the cells will be transposed.
Cautions:
o The target table must match the swapped cell length and width dimension. For example, if the original data range is 6 columns wide by 4 rows deep, then the corresponding table or range to hold the transposition must be 4 columns wide by 6 rows deep.
o If your transposed data block is to be offset from the origin of the new table, then you will need to include a subtractive offset into your cell formula, since in the transpose() function the data in the master data range is referenced from its position with the master range, not its cell position in the table. Such an offset is necessary because this example formula uses the target row and column numbers to arrive at indexed positions.
For example, if the new data range is to be offset one column to the right and one row below from the target table's origin then you must subtract (-1) from the cell and from the column references in the formula:
Example:
=INDEX(TRANSPOSE(Table 3 :: $B$2:$D$4),ROW()-1,COLUMN()-1)
If someone has a better solution I'd be glad to hear of it. -
Hi, I would like to know how can i break the value for a row and column once i have converted the image to the array. I wanted to make some modification on the element of the array at a certain position. how can i do that?
At the moment (as per attachhment), the value of the new row and column will be inserted by the user. But now, I want to do some coding that will automatically insert the new value of the row and the column ( I will use the formula node for the programming). But the question now, I don't know how to split the row and the column. Is it the value of i in the 'for loop'? I've tried to link the 'i' to the input of the 'replace subset array icon' , but i'm unable to do it as i got some error.
Please help me!
For your information, I'm using LABView 7.0.Hi,
Thanks for your reply.Sorry for the confusion.
I manage to change the array element by changing the row and column value. But, what i want is to allow the program to change the array element at a specified row and column value, where the new value is generated automatically by the program.
Atatched is the diagram. I've detailed out the program . you may refer to the comments in the formula node. There are 2 arrays going into the loop. If a >3, then the program will switch to b, where if b =0, then the program will check on the value of the next element which is in the same row with b but in the next column. But if b =45, another set of checking will be done at a dufferent value of row and column.
I hope that I have made the problem clear. Sorry if it is still confusing.
Hope you can help me. Thank you!!!!

Goto row and column in a JTextArea
Does anybody here know the correct procedure to get to a specific row and column in a JTextArea? I want to be able to do something like this:
replace(char c, int row, int column) - where the original character at row,column will be replaced with c.
I know that in C++, there is a windows console library that lets u do this, but there isn't one in java so I'm trying to get around it using a JTextArea.
Thank you.
Any Help/Comments/Ideas will be greatly appreciated.
-PatrickJTextArea has a replaceRange method.

Referring to Cursor Row and Column in Dynamic SQL
I have a procedure that dynamically reads a schema name and table name from an input table. The code then needs to loop through all rows and columns of each table and output the data. I'm 95% done with what I want to accomplish, but there is one small bug. The line dbms_output.put(*col.column_name* || '',''); ' ||
should refer to something like rec.col.column_name so that it gets the column of the current record. Right now it just displays the column name for each record instead of the actual value. Can anyone help me tweak the code to get the actual value?

Limitation of row and column in FR report
Hi all,
i want to know what is the maximum number of row and column that we can display in FR report.
and is there any possibility to increase the number of row and column in FR reports,if yes then how?
Thanks in advance.Hi Andy,
I think your asking if this or something similar could be used to go to another page rather than as a popup? The answer is yes. since you have already done the decode in your query, you can just go to the Report Attributes tab (I'm using version 2.2.1.00.04) and click the edit button for the column. Then, you can simply go to the
HTML Expression [Insert column value] text area and insert:
<!--
<b>#A#<b>
This will give you everything that is in the column link section, but I find it easier to work with since it's all together (personal preference).
I reread your post and realized that you wanted to pass the A as a value and not the summary value of the column. I simply removed the #'s. I think this should work. I also kept the summary value using the #A# as the link. I belive that you can copy and paste this into each column (replacing the A with the appropriate column header of course...).
If I were doing this I might create a CASE statement in the query and evaluate for null before creating the link. Here is an example of using that approach:
CASE WHEN "STATUS" = 'U' AND ("CREATEDBY"=:APP_USER OR :APP_USER='MY_USER')
THEN ''
|| '<img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#edit.gif" border="0" alt="Click here to Edit">'
|| ''
ELSE ''
END LINK,

Row and Column Template ?
Trying to create this thing but no matter what I do I keep getting this ridiculous error:
Cannot create a linked row and column template based on
the selected rows. The grid needs to have at least one data row that is
not part of a row and column template.
What does this mean?You can get your requirement done using the Row and Column Template
You can not save a row and column template with all rows in a report. You have to exclude at least one data row, otherwise you
will get the error that you mentioned.
If you want to save all the rows as a template and re-use it in other report, you can insert a data row at the end of all rows and hide that.
Now you can select the complete row set as a template by excluding the extra data row that you will insert & hide.
If you want to link the template in other reports with same row set you must be very careful with the formatting as you need to apply
inherit formatting before saving the template. I suggest to spend some time with the FR online documentation.

Setting number of rows and columns
How do I set the number of rows and columns of a table, say 2348 rows by 3 columns?
Then how do I quickly select the last row?
Also, if I enter a formula in row 1 column 2, how do I quickly copy that formula down to row 1435, or to the end of the column? Dragging seems slow and awkward.I wish to add a few words to Jerrold responce.

The process that you describe is inefficient.
The efficient one is :
create a table
enter the formulas in a single row
delete the rows below.
Now, each newly inserted row will contain the formulas.
From my point of view, it's when this is done that it will be interesting to apply a script adding rows.
Here is a script inserting rows.

Setup for discoverer table for showing number of Rows and columns of Report
As oracle discoverer report show "Rows 1-25 of"(Total rows) and "Column 1-6 Of"(Total Column).
This total rows and columns information's is not appearing on our reports.
Kindly let us know its setting/setups .
This is very urgent to us, Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks, AvaneeshHmm, what version of Discoverer are you on? Do I understand you correctly that you are able to run a Discoverer report and see this rows and columns information? What software are you running when you do this - Viewer, Plus, or Desktop? Where is this showing up - the top of the report maybe? Or maybe the bottom of the report? The only thing I can think of to handle this is the Page Setup for a workbook, and looking at the Header and Footer sections of that setup. But I am on Discoverer 10.1.2.2 and I don't see anything I can insert on the header/footer that would show this kind of information. Desktop will let you do Page x of y pages (Plus does not), but that is not what you are seeing. You can maybe look at the page setup and see if there is something there not documented in the Discoverer guides.

How to display 2 dimensional data. i.e with rows and columns?
Hi,
I want to know how to display multiple, variable
rows and columns that are got from the database through
queries in forms.
(i,e. a Matrix of Values,something similar to an Excel Spreadsheet).
Is there a component in forms similar to JTABLE that is
available in Java through which MULTIPLE, VARIABLE
rows and columns can be displayed ?.
I am not using a base table since this data is got thru
a number of packages and procedures that are used in
Loops.
NOTE : I am using forms 6i.
Thanks
Sharath.I've heard Grant mention adding a Grid component to the Forms toolbox. From the context I would guess this is not yet even under development, so it's not going to be available anytime soon. And not for 6i.
Sorry, APC

Problem with updating serial numbers in sales order!
Hi, I am trying to update serial numbers for a sales order in SAP. I tried using both SERNR_ADD_TO_AU and SERNR_ADD_TO_DOCUMENT. However, in both cases the FM returned the number of serial numbers created but these did not reflect in the sales order.
