Inserting Titles/Blank slides

I'm having difficulties inserting titles. I click on 'titles, choose the type, etc, then click preview. It appears in the mini example but it 'update' button never highlights. I've tried dragging the example screen but it's not working.
I also can't insert a blank black slide in between the images. Is this because I'm using photos instead of clips?
(iMovie 5.0.2 - 111)

Hello,
I have a similar problem. I want to add a title but it gets created as an independent shot next to the movie shot I want it merged with.
I made sure to uncheck the option box "on black background" (or whatever it reads in the English version of iMovie) then I drag the T on the shot but, no way, it sort of refuses to receive the title.
I had the problem already 2 months ago then, after hours of trying, it suddenly worked but I never understood why it had worked. Today, I have to do it again and I'm lost again.
Thanks for your help

  • Aperture 3 - How to move the title on a blank slide

    Hi again,
As explained in my previous post, I have downloaded the trial version of Aperture 3. Apart from my export pb with the sound, I have another problem. I have inserted a blank slide at the beginning of the slideshow.
There is a title at the bottom of the slide and I would like to put it in the middle and I can't! I have tried to select the zone and move it, but all I can do is changing the text inside.
    Am I doing something wrong?

You can select any object on one page and copy and paste it to another. You can also select a group of objects (like several images or text boxes) and copy and paste them over. Then you can move thess objects around and reposition them on the photo page.

  • Insert Blank Slide 100% cpu utilization

I tried to start from scratch assuming the files have become

    Hi Margaret_M
Reason I asked about networks is that I experienced similar
problems in the past, because I was connected to a company network
and the autosaving of data from my machine to the company servers
during capture created problems under the following circumstances:
    Open Captivate
Record a section of the app
    Edit the section
Record a new section (before saving again)
Saving between recording sessions seemed to fix the problem
Could this be it? Heres hoping

  • Inserting Blank slide

Is there a way to insert a blank slide into a project that has 'rest of the project' selected for graphics and text? Basically I want to insert a blank slide into a template. I don't want the properties from the previous slides to carryover to the blank slide.
    Thanks for your help,

You'll need an advanced action to hide those objects on the blank slide. This will do the job, but you cannot re-show the objects on the slide after the blank slide. I blogged about possibilities of showing/hiding objects in Captivate, perhaps that will explain better what I mean:

  • Inserting Blank slides

I am using Captivate 1 and creating a project with blank
slides that link to movies. I have created a "template" with a
header and several objects that I want to appear on every slide.
    They are .bmp images.
When I insert a blank slide my images do not persist even
though I selected "Display for rest of movie" in the Options tab. I
have seen presentation where adding a blank slide creates a slide
with the header or whatever on it but I don't know how it was done.
    Any ideas?

My question back to you would be to ask where exactly you are
    inserting the Blank slides?
If you inserted an image on perhaps Slide 4 and configured it
for the project, it only should appear on slides that follow the
image. So if you inserted the Blank slide on perhaps Slide 2, it
    won't show there.
If that isn't it, I'm a bit stumped... Rick

  • Default Color of Blank Slide

I am in PhotoShop Elements 5 Slide Show Editor. I have inserted a blank slide and want its color to be blue. I have some pictures that don't fill the screen and I want the background color (on the right and left of the picture) to be black. When I go to preferences I can change the slide show background color to blue but that also changes the color on the sides of the narrow picture to blue. Is there some way to have a blank side color be blue and the background color of a narrow picture to be black without having to edit each individually?

    >I have inserted a blank slide and want its color to be blue.
Leave the background color at its default black in Preferences.
Then, after you insert the blank slide,
    Method 1
Look at the panels on the right of the slide show preview area and you should see a
    b Properties
palette window. It has a Backgound Color square that you click on and it brings up a Color Picker window, from which you can choose your blue color.
    Method 2
Right click on that new slide in the small images across the bottom and choose
    b Change Background Color
from the right click menu. Use the Color Picker window.
After you have done one slide in the color that you want (with either method)
    You can use the
    b Edit menu
    to
    b Copy
that blank (now blue color) slide and
    b Paste
it wherever in the slide show you want an additional blue slide.

  • Captivate 7 -- Insert Blank Slide bug?

    Hi,
I'm creating a tutorial in Captivate 7 (Win 8.1) using screen shots (taken from another computer using Windows 8.1 Update). I would like the last slide to be a blank screen that I will then mock up. I use "Insert > Blank Slide" to do so. The slide, in the filmstrip, appears to be blank. However, when I click on the slide, it shows a screen shot from a previous slide. I can't get rid of it. The image file doesn't appear in the Timeline nor, as already stated, in the Filmstrip.
What can I do? I want to add a SmartShape to cover the screen but I want the alpha toned down to 80%. When I do that, I can see the background image that shouldn't be there in the first place. Help!

Check if the timing of the image on the previous slide is set to Rest of the Project.

  • How do i add a  blank slide

How do i add a blank slide and text?

    In the slide show album
As Frank said,   only you have to pick a slideshow Theme that will allow it (Classic, Ken Burns).  For example, in the "Places" theme these options to insert blank slides will be grayed out (in Aperture 3.4.3), since this theme creates its own titles based on the locations. Switching between themes will not help. Title slides inserted using another theme will simply be removed.
With "Places" or "Reflections" the cogwheel menu will look like this: You'll have nearly no control about the slide transitions at all:
To add blank slides to a slideshow these themes, create images with a solid black or white background by adjusting new versions of your images or creating them in an external editor.

  • Creating blank slide in slideshow

Is there a way to create a blank slide for a slideshow in iPhoto? A few weeks ago, Old Toad made a reference to doing this for his slideshows, but I wasn't sure if this was an option available just in iDVD.

Use an application that will let you give the background a color if you don't want a blank white slide. Any freeware image editor can create a new, blank canvas of any size you decide and can add color to it before saving as a jpg. A couple are Acorn and Seaside. Some text editors will also let you change the background color. The the print to pdf method that Terence mentioned will get you want you want. You can even create title slides that way.

  • New slide vs. blank slide

In Captivate 5, what is the difference between choose Insert > New Slide or choosing Insert > Blank Slide?

    Hi Mukul
Would it be fair to say a "stencil" is another term that would represent a slide associated with a Master Page?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Blank slides in sliding panels

I used to be able to insert blank slides into the sliding panels theme. I did this all the time to manipulate the slideshow to display the way I wanted, and to create chapter breaks. I have a few published slideshows that prove it. Now, however, the function is greyed out unless I'm in Classic or Ken Burns themes. When I open my working files of those published slideshows all the places where the blank slides were (originally black to match the background) are white boxes. Anyone have any idea what happened?

  • Should I insert a .cpvc slide or an .mp4 to show a software simulation?

I recorded a software simulation using Captivate 8.  Most of the project is made up of individual slides, except in 2 sections that demonstrate how the screen moves when you swipe on a touch screen.  To capture the swipes, I recorded a new video demo in Captivate.  When this occurs, it creates a .cpvc file which you can then edit.
Should I insert the .cpvc slide directly into my .cptx project or publish it to an .mp4 first and then insert that video?  What are the pros / cons of each method?
I've tried each and have had undesirable results using both methods.  When I inserted the .cpvc file, the published project shows a spinning wheel (as if the video is loading) when the project advances to that slide (although the rest of the transition is smooth).  When I inserted the .mp4 file, the transition is not smooth - the screen goes blank immediately before the .mp4 video begins.
It seems as though using the .cvpc slide is better although the loading / spinning wheel is not desirable in the project.  How can I eliminate this from happening?  Any advice would be appreciated!

I had both an iMac and a MBP years ago - I found that I used them about 50-50%. Inside the house, I'd do what needed doing on a large-screen on the iMac and then, at night, I'd web surf from the den or the bedroom. I liked the large screen on the iMac and the portability of the MBP.
But you introduce two new factors - you already have an external monitor (which, to me, favors the MBP) and you're going to be getting an iPad (which favors the iMac). With the external monitor, you'll have a large screen to work with. With the iPad you'll have portability for web surfing, etc.
I would go with the iMac and the iPad. Even though I'm now down to just a MBP with a 27" external monitor, I don't have an iPad - and that introduces a wholly new part to the equation. Previously, I had to have a MBP only (with no external monitor) because I lived in a nursing home. Now that I'm in my apartment, I use my MBP with external display probably 85-90% of the time and the MBP on the couch or in the bedroom about 10-15% of the time. To be honest, I'll seriously be looking at the 2013 Mac Pros and just use the MBP around the apartment and around town. I'm not planning on getting an iPad, so I'll still need the portability.
Those are just my thoughts and ramblings - if you're going to get an iPad, get an iMac.
