Inserting two queries in a single Sheet
Hi GURUS,
I have a requirement in reporting. The user needs two queries in one report.
I have two separate queries and user wants those two queries combined.
I mean when the user execute a report, then he want to see his both queries in one sheet. Is that possible???
If yes then plase explain me in detail how do ? do that. Will definitely assign points. Thanks in advance.
Hi Suresh,
Thanks for your quick response. Your links helped me but it says:
You can execute 2 queries in one work book.First execute one query,place the cursor under query results area,go to tools->Insert query->execute.Save->Save existing work book.
But I am unable to find the option Insert Query in the Workbook Bex Tool bar. Please let me know where this option is available in BEx in BI 7.0.

How to Insert two queries in a single workbook in BI 7 ?
Hi,
I am trying to insert two queries in a single workbook. The queries are of Accounts Receivable.I have inserted one query in a workbook , but am not able to proceed to inserting the second query. In BEx analyzer, in design mode , using analysis grid , i tried inserting the second query but when saving and running, i am getting message " Variables are present, change their values " . should i maintain same variables for two queries ? i am stuck up. please explain me as how can this be done.
Roja.Hi,
If you get the message "Variables are present, change their values" ,it means that the query which you inserted having variables.
You just click the "Change Variables" icon in the Analysis Toolbox,which will invoke the variable screen.
Set the values in the variable screen and click OK.
Now you will be able to see the data in the grids based on the values selected in the variable screen.
Both queries data will be displayed in the workbook.
Let me know in case of any clarifications!

How to insert two queries in the same workbook in new BI 7.0 Bex web analy
Hi
Can you please advise how to insert multiple queries in the same workbook in BI 7.0 web analyser.
SarahHi,
You need to switch to design mode (BEx Analyser Menu - Design Toolbar - Design Mode). For each query that you want to embed, insert an analysis grid item in the workbook. Link each analysis grid to its corresponding data provider (query).
Hope this helps.

How to insert multiple queries into a single worksheet of same dataprovider
Hello friends,
My question is same as this.I want to know how to create a single worksheet(workbook) embedded with multiple queries of same DATA PROVIDER with different VARIABLES assigned to each query.
Please,send me the relevant steps.
Regards,
Mohan Chand Reddy AHi,
You need to create one query workbook and rest of the queries you can insert manually from Bex tool -
insert query.
You need to insert query by adding one more tab in the workbook.
Keep in mind only one thing that variable ..if you are going to keep variable it will keep on popping up for user entry in it.
So try to have common variable in the first query and then those value needs to get fed into other query variable as they are running so without any user entry while execution we can see results in all the queries in the workbook.
If you want to insert a query into a new workbook:
Choose the symbol for Open...from the BEx toolbar. This brings you to the screen Open SAP BEx:
Select Queries from the left column.
Select a query from all those available. The queries are arranged according to InfoProviders.
Double-click on the required query or choose OK.
If you want to insert a query into the active workbook:
Open a workbook and, from the BEx toolbar, choose Tools ® Insert Query.... The query is then inserted into the current worksheet starting at the active cell.
If you want to insert a query into a workbook template:
Create a workbook template.
Insert the query into the workbook template.
Thanks and regards

How to insert three quiries in a single workbook in three sheets?
Hi Experts,
I want to insert three queries in a single workbook in 3 sheets, Please guide me how I can achieve this.
Help full answer will be awarded with points.
Thanks in advance,
Venkat.Hi Venkat,
If you are working in BEx 7.0 follow these steps:
1. Open a query, say Q1.
2. It will be opened in a new workbook in Sheet1.
3. Then goto the sheet2.
4. Switch onto the Design mode. There place the Analysis grid for which you have to create a new data provider for the query Q2.
5. Similarly, goto the Sheet3 and do the step4 for inserting the query Q3.
If you are working in BEx 3.5 follow these steps:
1. Open a query, say Q1.
2. It will be opened in a new workbook in Sheet1.
3. Then goto the sheet2.
4. In the Business Explorer toolbar, you will find a button called 'Tools'.
5. From that menu select 'Insert Query' option.
6. It will open the query dialog box, there choose the query Q2.
7. Similarly, goto the Sheet3 and do the step 4,5, & 6 for inserting the query Q3.
Hope this helps you.

Insert multiple queries using either WORKBOOK, WAD or Report Designer
Hello Guys
I have a task where I have to insert multiple queries into one single page/sheet & print it out later. For this I can use any one of the tools available: Workbook, WAD or Report Designer.
1. Workbook - Here I have read that we can use a call back MACRO and some other features.
2. WAD - Here I have read that we can use: 1. Multiple data providers (one for each query) & 2. Multiple web analysis items linking to each individual data provider.
3. Report Designer - Since this is the actual 'formatting' tool provided by SAP, I am assuming that this is the right environment to achieve my task.
My question: Which one out of the above 3 tools is actually feasible? Can someone explain me in detail about how to go about this task. Any 'How to..' docs from SAP would also be most helpful.
Regards.Hi Kashyap,
I have done similar requirement in Workbook,it has better features and more user friendly than others......it depends on the individual...but U cna meet your requirement thru Workbooks...
If the Req are complicated then we go for MAcros ,where in we can satify the critical req,say some sort of Dynamic reqs.
There are lot of threads on Multiple queries in one Workbook....Just search in SDN and u will get lot of Threads on this topic.
Come bak if u have any other doubts.

Workbook: overlapping of 2 queries in the same sheet
I've 1 Workbook and I want to insert 2 queries in the same sheet.
The query B must follow the query A.
Now, I've inserted the query B bottom of query A.
When refresh the workbook query B don't follow in a dynamic way the end of Result Area of query A.
The final result is an overlapping of query A on query B!!!
Do you know a solution of this problem?Hi Claudio, I hope that Eugene's answer fixed your problem.
Another solution is: move the result area of query 2 each time that query 1 is finished refreshing.
To do this, you need to know the local queryID of each query. Let's assume that the one which refreshes first has local queryID of SAPBEXq0001 and the one which refreshes second is SAPBEXq0002.
If this be the case (and it probably is not, so please check!), then BW knows the location of each query's result area using a Name in the Excel Workbook's Names collection. The names are:
SAPBEXqueries!SAPBEXq0001
SAPBEXqueries!SAPBEXq0002
When query 1 refreshes, BW will run a Subroutine named SAPBEXonRefresh. Find that subroutine, and in it, add the following code.
Dim ws as Worksheet, wb as Workbook
If queryID = "SAPBEXq0001" Then
set ws = resultArea.Parent
set wb = ws.Parent
firstCol = resultArea.Cells(1).Column
numCells = resultArea.Cells.Count
lastRow = resultArea.Cells(numCells).Row
nextRow = lastRow + 2 'or whatever space you want
wb.Names("SAPBEXqueries!SAPBEXq0002").RefersToRange.Clear
ws.Cells(nextRow, firstCol).Name = _
"SAPBEXqueries!SAPBEXq0002"
End If
Now, no matter what, the results for the second query will always appear exactly 2 rows below the results of the first query.

Issue in displaying two queries in the Excel
Hi,
as per the requirment, I have to keep two queries in the single excel.
Can u please let me know
1. how to do this.
2. If one query has a free characterstic, and if I drilldown what will happen to the display values as the next cell may contain the second query.
Thanks in advance
AnanyaHi,
this cant be achived in Bex reporting ...
the only possible way is to do in WAD reporting
WAD is a platform where you can fetch the reports from more than one Bex query.
when designing the WAD report use diffrent tables with diffrent infoprovider
for example
you have report 1 , report 2 and report 3
when you drag single table and link all the three reports the Out put will be Report1 report2 Report3( with the same infoprovider)
when you Drag three diffrent tables for Report 1 , Report 2 and Report3 with three diffrent infoprovider the out put will be
Report1
Report2
Report 3 so the all the three reports will be placed one below the other
holpe this helps
Thanks & Regards,

Merging two Queries in single crystal report lauout
Hi All,
I need to show two reports from two different BEx queries in a single crystal report layout. The queries are independent of each onther and having their selection variables. I have implemented two subreports for two queries in a main report. Now the problem i am facing is, though both the queries are having same slection(Profit Centre and Fiscal Per/Year), they are getting repeated in crystal report parameter screen. I have to enter the values for selections for each report.
Is there any method to merge the selections for both reports if they are same, so that i can enter the selections only once?
Thanks in Adv,
Shubhramukta.Hi,
I have two queries in BEx having Selections. Query 1 is having selections (Profit centre and Fiscal Per/Yr) and query 2 is having same selections as well(i.e. Profit centre and Fiscal Per/Yr). I have created two reports corresponding to these queries have used as subreports in a main report using Crystal report 2008. When i run the main Crystal report, it automatically prompts for values to be entered, as variables are set at BEx query level.
Though both the reports are having same selection variables, crystal report asks to enter values two times , once for each report, and it is obvious.
Parameters are Crystal parameters.
Is there any method to merge the parameters,is selection variables are same, so that it will ask only once?

3.Insert An Analysis Item in the first worksheet->Go to Properties of Analysis item and assign query by clicking "Create Data Prvoder" Icon
4.Switch to Analysis Mode,you will able to see teh data of Query in the Analysis Item
5.Insert new worksheet in the same workbook
6.Insert an Analysis Item in the second worksheet->Go to Properties of Analysis item.Here it will list the Data Provider which is already assigned for the analysis item in sheet1.You have to assign new query by clicking "Create Data Prvoder" Icon.This will assign the second query to the analysis item in second worksheet

Insert into two tables with a single query (same ID)
Hello,
I want to insert two tables at the same time ( with a single query) provided that both records get inserted with the same id. How do I do this?
Table Movies
id
name
Table Category
movie_id
cat_typea) Insert into first table, retrieve the id (may be by using my_sequence.currval and then insert into another table.
issue: Makes three query to the db, I am also guessing that when multiple people try to insert there will be an issue, I might be wrong.
I don't have any other idea.
Greatly appreciated!Why don't use multitable insert ? It's available from 9i.
A sequence.nextval will return the same value within the whole instruction
so all records can be inserted with the same id.
Look at this example:
DROP TABLE A;
DROP TABLE B;
drop sequence a_seq;
CREATE TABLE A(
ID NUMBER,
FIRSTNAME VARCHAR2(50)
CREATE TABLE B AS
SELECT id, firstname lastname FROM a;
CREATE SEQUENCE a_seq
START WITH 1;
INSERT ALL
INTO A(ID, FIRSTNAME) VALUES(A_SEQ.NEXTVAL, FNAME)
INTO B(ID, LASTNAME) VALUES(A_SEQ.NEXTVAL, LNAME)
SELECT 'fname ' || LEVEL FNAME, 'lname ' || LEVEL LNAME
FROM DUAL
CONNECT BY LEVEL < 10
COMMIT;
SELECT * FROM A;
SELECT * FROM b;
DROP TABLE A succeeded.
DROP TABLE B succeeded.
drop sequence a_seq succeeded.
CREATE TABLE succeeded.
CREATE TABLE succeeded.
CREATE SEQUENCE succeeded.
18 rows inserted
commited
ID FIRSTNAME
3 fname 1
4 fname 2
5 fname 3
6 fname 4
7 fname 5
8 fname 6
9 fname 7
10 fname 8
11 fname 9
9 rows selected
ID LASTNAME
3 lname 1
4 lname 2
5 lname 3
6 lname 4
7 lname 5
8 lname 6
9 lname 7
10 lname 8
11 lname 9

Printing ibot results in single sheet insted of two sheets
Hi Dues,
Currently when we print(through printer) ibot report it is comming in two sheets but business needs to print in single sheet.
Please suggest.
Thanks,
Raji.
Edited by: 961446 on Mar 5, 2013 7:57 AMI've found the problem: pageIndex=0 gets called twice, and it does not print anything the first time around. But the method runs, causing nextItem to signal the end of processing (-1), and the second call to print() just returned NO_SUCH_PAGE.
So:
if(nextItem == -1 && pageIndex!=0) return NO_SUCH_PAGE;
I still don't know if it will be called twice for all pages or some of the other pages.
For others it may be a feature, but as for me, it's a bug, because it makes harder handling those situations, when the contents of a page depends on the previous one.
