Inserting video into Acrobat 9 Pro

Hi,
I can embed a flash video (flv) file into my PDF and and it works fine.
The options dialog correctly shows the size of the video and displays it in the page.
The video is 720 x 370 pixels
snap to content proportions is always checked.
When I link to a video which is online (same file) and I insert by double clicking...
The options dialog shows the video proportions to be 320 x 240. I can not change this. Acrobat then puts a huge ugly black bordered rectangle on the page. This covers some of my text and its size can not be adjusted.
Border is set to None in the options dialog.
When my video is clicked and plays it has dark grey areas top and bottom just as a widescreen movie would on a regular TV.
When I link to a video which is online (same file) and I insert by drawing the area with a click and drag.....
The size of the rectangle seems to be based on the height of the area I drag. It maintains a 4 x 3 type aspect ratio. Acrobat then puts a ugly black bordered rectangle on the page again. Drag a small area you get a tiny rectangle.
Border is set to None in the options dialog.
When my video is clicked and plays it has the same dark grey areas top and bottom just as a widescreen movie would on a regular TV.
When I insert an image using create poster from file in the options dialog the image is scaled/stretched to fit the container (no black bars top and bottom. The video still has the bars when it plays though.
How can I get my video to play and display at its proper size when it is linked not embedded?????
Thanks
Mark

Hi All,
Just thinking that perhaps it would help to rephrase my question. . .
Does anyone else add Captivate demos to PDF files, and if so which format do you use?
Which format should I use in order to embed the demo file and see the playback controls when running the demo in the PDF file?
I'm using Captivate 3 and Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, both from the Tech Comms Suite v1.3.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Regards
Lillibet

I have been creating forms in InDesign and pulling into Acrobat XI Pro to do form fields. My client would like to fill in the PDF form using Reader, save under a different name locally on their device, and redistribute. The problem I have is that, sometimes, they want to redistribute the form as Read Only. I know how to flatten the form on a mobile device, but uncertain how they can do that with a PC or Mac using Adobe Reader. I looked at FormsCentral thinking there might be a solution going that route, but don't believe there is. Any advice?

FormsCentral won't help with flattening a form. You could set up the form in Acrobat so that the fields are set to read-only, using JavaScript. Not quite the same as flattening but it's the best Reader can do.
Note that when Reader is used to e-sign a document, it gets flattened, but this won't be possible if you need to Reader-enable the form and under certain other conditions.

  • How do I insert video into my webpage?

I am using Dreamweaver 8. I have taken my camcorder video and uploaded it to youtube and copied the mp4 file to my hard drive.
I have created a page with several videos on the page. I created a screenshot of the video and sized it to the appropriate size. I then created a link to the video mp4 file. However it opens in a separate page.
I want to have the video open on the same page in the same location as the screenshot. Click on the image and it just starts playing.
I notice that I can get it to do this if it is a flash (.flv) file but since all of my videos are mp4 that won't work.
How do I insert video into my webpage? Do I convert the mp4 files to flash? How? What do I do?
    Thanks
    Matt

  • Inputting audio/video into my macbook pro? with Apple DVI to Video Adapter?

I work with video, and am trying to save my minidv cam's life. is there a more direct way to input directly from a vcr/television into my macbook pro? because right now i'm having to input from my vcr/television into my minidv then into my macbook through firewire.
i was considering the Apple DVI to Video Adapter ( http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=724 17D66&fnode=home/shopmac/macaccessories/cables&nplm=M9267G/A#overview )
but i'm fairly certain that this is output-only. does anyone know if there is a way to input through it as well, or anything that works similarly?

I thought that cables and adapters worked the same going either direction. I believed that the only concern was the male or female end points on them. Not sure anymore though

  • Help with html code - inserting video into Muse

I am seeking help writing the code to insert a video into Muse. I uploaded video into my Business Catalyst hosting. I need it to autoplay, loop and not show any controls or frames.
When I host video on Vimeo or YouTube, I see markings on the video that is why I am trying to just host in the same place that the files are stored for my website. If there is a way to host on youtube with out any markings showing up on the video I would be open to that too.
I don't want to see any play button or time bar.
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hello,
Just as an FYI - we also have an HTML5 video tool over at MuseThemes.com that achieves this, but works on mobile devices as well. The link above looks like it uses Flash, which isn't common anymore since the release of HTML5 based video.
Simply drag the widget out onto your canvas, and link up your videos / set options like loop, controls visible, etc. It's quite a flexible widget, and there's a complete training video included so you don't get stuck
    Check out the widget here
Just wanted to provide another alternative that could be helpful. Cheers!

  • How do I import GoPro video into Final Cut Pro X?

I'm about to purchase Final Cut Pro X (10.1.4). Will I be able to import my GoPro files? Do I have to convert them to another file type? Has anybody imported GoPro video into their projects? I believe that GoPro Studio can convert the video files into GoPro Cineform files that you're supposed to be able to import into 3rd Party Applications such as Final Cut Pro X.
If you have any advice, I would very much appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Kiki

I just copy the Gopro MP4 files on to a hard drive then import the media into a FCPX library. I have had no issues with dealing with GOPRO videos, but I am running a Hero 2 and a hero 3+.  I am no expert on it, I just do it.

  • How can I get MPEG-2 video into Final Cut Pro X?

Hello!  I have several MPEG-2 video files on which I need to perform some edits.  When I tried to import them into Final Cut Pro, I learned that Final Cut Pro can't import MPEG files.  Okay, so I went into QuickTime and exported one as 720p.  20 minutes later, I had a video that I could load in FCP.  Awesome.  Except that when I watched the video, the audio was waaaaaaaay out of sync.  So, is there a different way I could get this MPEG-2 video into a format that FCP will like while keeping video and audio together?
I would keep trying a few different things without direction, but these videos are like 90 minutes long and the conversion process is lengthy.
    Thanks!

Although I looked up the equipment, I couldn't find what kind of MPEG2. I'm assuming program stream.
I don't know why you had the sync problem with QT. You could bring it into FCP and detach the audio and manually line it up it's off by a constant amount.
Or you can use MEG Streamclip. You will also need the playback component, which is $20. Follow the instructions on the Squared 5 site to install it. Streamclip is worth having even if you don't use it this time around.
    Good luck.

  • Streaming Video in Acrobat XI Pro Documents - Free Supported Service Providers?

Hi, there is an option to use an embedded Streaming Video service in Acrobat XI Pro Documents, does anyone know of a free streaming video service provider that is supported please?  Incredibly it seems Vimeo and YouTube are not.  Thanks.

    "Browser: Mozilla Firefox 19"
You DO realize that Firefox has released FOUR new versions since the one you're using, right?

  • Inserting Video Into My Training

I have some video that was captured as an AVI file and they
also put it into MPg4 format.
Do I need to convert this into a SWF flash file before I can
insert it into my training program? Do I need outside software to
make this conversion or will "Presenter" do this for me? Is there
somewhere that explains the process for doing this other than the
Adobe Guide for "Presenter". I have not found this very clear.

Presenter has the ability to take, ASF, WMV, MPG, MP4, DV,
DVI, MOV, or 3G videos to FLV.
Use the Insert Video tool in Presenter and see if the MPg4
video will work, or if the team that created the AVI has the
ability to turn it into an FLV, that my be the best option as FLVs
    work naively in Presenter.

  • N8: Inserting video into MMS (wrong size is calcul...

    Hello,
as far as I know, most providers are supporting a maximum size of 300kb when sending a mms. If i try to insert a video into a new mms, the N8 will record about 1 Minute of video (mms-qualilty), which has a size of about 420kb! That is to big to use it which a mms.
From my old N95 i know a setting, where you could define the 300kb size and the phone only recorded 300kb then in mms-quality. This setting is missing in the new N8 preferences!
Also there is an issue with inserting pictures into mms. Ok, N8 is resizing it, but the old N95 told you when the maximum of 300kb is reached. The N8 don't show any notification at all and the size will grow into the wild.
I'm already using the setting where you should be warned and the picture size is set to small by default! But this changes nothing!
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you

Hey Helen! I'll do the best I can to provide information in
    the order you requested it.
First, yes, that can be done. Just get any one of a variety
of conversion utilities (Google something like "AVI to FLV") to
convert your video to Flash video format.
Second, I do not publish to EXE when I can avoid it, so will
leave it to someone else to tell you whether the FLV can be
accessed within the EXE output. I think not, but like I said, I
don't like the lack of versatility of Captivate's "executable"
output, and avoid using it personally.
Third, inserting a FLV into a Captivate project should not
substantially increase the file size of your EXE (if it can even be
done in an EXE) or your SWF output. Basically the FLV acts as a
"pointer" and is a pretty small file. On the other hand, if you
choose to add your video as a SWF instead of a FLV, you can expect
file-size to increase proportional to the SWF size.
About your "separate note": You can find training at
    this Adobe
    link to certified training providers
. Use this link to obtain the names and contact information for
the Adobe certfied training providers nearest your geographical
    location.
Training companies across the U.S. and around the world offer
instructor-led training by Adobe-certified instructors. You can
register for a "open to the public" class, or you can arrange
on-site training that is specifically geared your needs and/or
    wallet.
    Best of luck to you!

  • Inserting video into templates

I am extremely new to AE. I have CS6 and am trying to learn it on my own... but it's very complicated.
I have a template I am working with that I want to insert video clips into. The template has jpegs that say "insert photo or video here". How do I swap the jpeg with the video clip without losing the keyframes and effects? I'm not well-versed enough to just re-do them all. I am using the templates to learn the program but to also build a few videos for the non-profit I work for.
Another thought I had was if it was possible to copy all the attributes/effects/keyframes from one media piece to another. So if I were to add the video clip to the composition and copy the attributes from the template photo to the video clip I just added and then make the template photo invisible. But I haven't been able to figure that out. :/
    Thanks!

Welcome to the world of After Effects! As you've noticed, it can be pretty complicated. I highly recommend that you start here. That is a set of resources specifically curated to help people new to AE get started off on the right foot.
To your question, this page in the AE help has what you need. It says to select the layer you want to replace in the Timeline panel then Alt-drag (Windows) or Option-drag (Mac OS) your new footage item from the Project panel onto the selected layer in the Timeline panel.

  • Nikon D800 video into a Macbook Pro

How can I recoord live video from a Nikon D800 or D600 into my Macbook Pro. I have Firewire 800 and Thunderbolt.
    Tks for the help

I just did some research and found two things for still capture through the USB port, but I didn't find if they actually work for video capture.
    Nikon's Camera Control Pro 2, It's $180 US, but they have a trial download;
    http://nikonimglib.com/nccp/index_en_eur.html#os-macintosh
I also found a donation application Sofortbild, but again I don't see if it will capture video. (I actually find this to be better than Apple's Image Capture for stills.)
