Insignia ns-brhtib blu-ray won't eject

Just hooked up my new blu ray player to my tv everything works except that the tray to put the dvd in wont eject. Didn't know if anyone knew something I didn't. i've tried several times with both the remote and on the acutal unit.

It sounds like the disc drive is defective or off track.  I would just take the player back and exchange it, if you're still w/in 30 days from the date of purchase and have your original receipt.
Nothing I post is an official statment of Best Buy or Geek Squad, it is only a helpful opinion!

  • Blu Ray won't play.

    Hi all,
I am at the end of my rope with googling on this one.  I am hoping someone can help me.
I moved into a house that has a media room.  In it is a HTPC with the following characteristics:
HP Media center m9000t running Windows Vista
    Nvidia 8500GT video card
    Blu Ray player
The room had a low def projector and I upgraded to a:
    Mitsubishi HC7900
I did a fresh install of all the software, and downloaded all new updates (Vista SP 1being most pertinent)
The Blu Ray wasn't working and googling led to the following actions, all failing:
    1) HP's DVDPlay was freezing.  After crashing my computer over and over I finally uninstalled it.  Eventually I found forums where they reccomended Cyberspace Power DVD 10 which I downloaded.  With this, the Blu Ray wouldn't play.
    2) Downloaded Cyberspace BD advisor.  Says the monitor is not digital.
    3) Use NVIDIA control panel to set up dual monitors (mirror of the two with the projector as primary).  The regular monitor is hooked up via VGA.  The Mits projector by HDMI.  The control panel tells me the card, and monitor are HDCP compliant.  The projector projects the image.  But a Blu Ray won't play.  The BD advisor tells me now that the HDMI connection has given me a digital image but there is still an HDCP issue.
    4) Upgraded to NIVIDA 335.23.   Still have HDCP issue
    5) tried VLC player.  Won't work.
    5) Uninstalled 335.23, went to oldest NVIDIA driver I could find.  Still HDCP issue.
    6) upgraded PowerDVD to 14.  Still won't play.
Not sure what to do.  My components all claim HDCP compliance.  This includes my projector, the NVIDIA card, the NVIDIA control panel, and the Power DVD 14 softward.  BUt the BD Advisor says I have a digital signal but have an HDCP issue.
I would really like to make this work with what I have.  Rather not buy a bunch of new stuff.
    Thanks in advance.
    Scott

  • Blu Ray won't turn on after server issues

So after the last couple days of not being able to connect properly to my online streaming, now my blu Ray won't even turn on all the way. It is stuck with the thin blue line on the screen and won't do anything else. I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in minutes later and still no more than the thin blue line. Does anyone know why this is?? If left up long enough it kicks over to the blu Ray disk symbol in the middle of the screen for a few seconds and then back to the thin blue line. This is getting super frustrating!!

Hello danktaysam, thank you for your message.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue:
    1. Make sure the power cord is securely connected to the player and plugged into a working electrical outlet.
IMPORTANT: After plugging the player into an electrical outlet for the first time, wait 10 seconds before trying to turn on the power.
    2. Try turning on the power by pressing the POWER button on the front of the player.
NOTE: If the player turns on by pressing the POWER button on the front, but not with the remote control, then the batteries in the remote control may need to be replaced. Also, make sure nothing is blocking the infrared (IR) sensor on the player.
    3. If the player is connected to the TV via HDMI cable, disconnect the HDMI from the player and press the power button again on the unit. Once the unit is on, turn off the Control for HDMI from the System Settings menu.
    4. Try plugging the power cord into a different electrical outlet.
If you are able to get the player on after following the previous  steps, doing more troubleshoot steps may also help:
    1. Turn the Blu-ray Disc player on and make sure the correct video input is selected on the TV.
    2. Press the Home button on the Blu-ray Disc player remote.
    3. Once the menu is displayed, press the Left arrow button on the remote and navigate to Setup.
    4. On Setup, use the Down arrow button and go to Resetting and press the Enter button.
    5. Under Resetting, select either Reset to Factory Default Settings or Initialize Personal Information.
    NOTES:
Reset to Factory Default Settings option will display another menu where you can reset the current network, audio and video settings on the player, select All Settings if you desire to restore everything.
Initialize Personal Information will erase all personal information stored on the player and some Internet apps.
    6. Go through each of the two options if you desire to completely restore the Blu-ray Disc player.
I hope this post helps you.

  • Blue Ray won't play

my hp p6370t windows7 won"t play blue ray disks...it use too and stopped working.

    Hi,
The "laser" beams for BluRay is more delicated than beams for CD/DVD therefore we can see laptop BD ROM's are easy to break in comparison with the ones sit on our home systems.
My suggestion is to clean the lens and hopefully the problem goes away.

  • Blu-rays won't play on Satellite P855-307

    Hi,
I recently purchased this laptop but I am unable to play Blu-ray discs; the Toshiba Blu-Ray disc player software loads but does not appear to recognize the disc. The drive will play DVD/CDs with no problems. The same issue occurs with the Nero Kwik Media software.
Any ideas what the issue is?
I have tried running via integrated and NVIDIA graphics but it made no difference.

Yes, I have tried several discs with the same result. The drive itself seems to read the disc because it is showing the title and attempting to auto load. The blu-ray player software is showing a blank screen and appears to be trying to play a chapter 11 seconds long, but is stuck at 0:00 and won't respond.

  • NEW Satellite A505 - Blu-ray won't play on WinDVD or Toshiba DVD player

I purchased a Satellite A505 (Windows 7) with a Blu-ray disc player that was pre-loaded with WinDVD, Toshiba DVD player, and one other player (?) - all this software was added 12/21/2009 (by the manufacturer). When I put in a Blu-ray disc WinDVD stops responding and I have to start the task manager to "end task." The Toshiba player says "media not supported." I used the recommended compatibility settings (Windows XP) and it says "incompatible application." I tried using a Sony Vaio w/ Blu-ray and had no problems with the same disc using WinDVD. I don't know what's wrong (and I'm not super tech savvy) - my settings, my drivers, my hardware... ???
I also downloaded the free trial of Corel's WinDVD 2010 and it wouldn't play on that either...
*Note - my model number is A505-S6012 but I can't find this as an existing model on any of the Toshiba sites. It was delivered to the store around 1/4/10, so it's brand new. The A505-S6990 has most of the same features though.

    jacuielaura,
I had the exact same issue with the Win DVD BD that was preloaded on my A505-S6014 when I purchased it. I myself also downloaded the Win DVD 2010 free trial and it did not work. Reason being is that they are only allowing people to trial the DVD version of Win DVD 2010 and not the Win DVD BD 2010. I also tried Cyberlink's PowerDVD and it worked but it digitized terribly. So I uninstalled both trials and went to support.toshiba.com and found what I needed to fix it.
I recommend you uninstall the original Win DVD BD version you have and any trial editions you downloaded and follow what I have listed below to fix your problem.
This is only a recommendation. Uninstall and install software at your own risk. If this fix doesn't work for you then you will have to call Toshiba and request a disc to reinstall your original software you uninstalled.
This is how I fixed mine:
Go to Support > Download > then choose your category (Laptop) then your Family (Satellite) then you're model #(A505-6012). Or you can just enter S6012 in the search box and it should bring up a list of all Laptop models with S6012 in them. Choose yours and click Go.
Now from the two drop down lists choose which Operating system: (Windows 7 64 bit) should be what you have, then choose Blu-Ray in the 2nd drop down list.
Download and SAVE these files to your desktop or My Downloads folder so you do not have to search for them again after you reboot.
You should now see this listed:
WinDVD BD for Toshiba for Windows 7 (32/64)(v8.0; 11-05-2009; 176.1M)
Also you will need to download the (Intel Management Engine Interface driver) which is listed in the drop down list under Utility (2nd page):
Intel Management Engine Interface for Windows XP/7 (32/64)(v6.0.0.1184; 10-08-2009; 6.39M)
Reboot after each installation even if it doesnt tell you to.
After both downloads have been installed and the OS is completely loaded again, insert a Blu-Ray disc and hopefully it should automatically play.
P.S. When playing Blu-Ray's I turn my power management to Performance. This may also help.
    Good luck!
    Hailofaguy

  • FCP 7 "Share to blu-ray" burn issue.

This may not actually be a FCP issue, but possibly some of you here are experienced in the matter.
Firstly, my video is 1080/24p ProRes.
This is my first jump into Blu-ray, and I'm quickly learning the many work-arounds, but have run in to a problem.
Initially I tried exporting a QuickTime with "current settings", and dropping it in toast and encoding/burning.
Video looked pretty good, but it was choppy. Google tells me this seems to be a common issue with toast and 24p.
Most suggest encoding with Compressor and then burning with Toast.
Tried that, but I couldn't get it to just encode the files and that be all. It kept asking for a blu-ray disc and ejecting the drive, as if Compressor was going to burn it?
When I would choose "cancel burn", my only option, the whole batch would fail. After all that encoding time...
Wasn't too depressed, because after digging more, Google also told me that many believe the h264 encode using the "share" function in FCP produces better results. Though the options are non-existent, it did great. My only complaint is you are forced to convert audio to .ac3. Well that *****.
So I went ahead and exported all the audio from IN and OUT markers as .aiff.
This is where my problem arrives..
I threw the h264 and aiff in Toast, chose "never re-encode", and it burnt fine.
Video looks great, no stuttering. But the AUDIO! It slows drifts out of sync...
Video is an hour long, and at about 20 minutes in, it's 1-2 seconds behind, and goes from there.
    Why would that be?
    Any experience with this?
I checked, and the ac3 that FCP made, and the aiff are the EXACT same length.
Any thoughts? Or any other work-around for keeping audio lossless?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply, Johnny.
I wasn't saying AC3 s*u*c*k*s. And really.. Why is that word censored? I didn't do that.
I was saying it ***** that you ONLY have the option of AC3 with the "Share to blu-ray" feature.
And yea, I'm sure I would never know the differene, and especially not my grandparents with their home movies.
But it just seems d*u*m*b (can I say that?) to be going through all this trouble for a "lossless" lineage, ie. HD camera, FCP, Blu-ray burner/player, and have to compress the audio. Isn't that one of the main advantages of blu-ray?! Quality? Wether we can detect it or not?! Ha!. Okay..
I thought an easy workaround would be to export the audio to AIFF and drop it in.
No idea why it's drifting....but yes, in the end i may settle.
Though I'll feel cheated! Guess that's what I get for loving BOTH Apple and Blu-ray....
If anyone has other processes of getting good 24p to Blu-ray, please share!
    Thanks again.

  • MediaSmart DVD and Blu Rays

Hi.  I know this question has been asked before (because I've read it in a bunch of other posts) but I'm still having a problem.
My Blu Ray player was working just fine (I just watched UP about a month ago) until I bought the new Harry Potter movie.  When I put it in the player, everything went to hell.  It says "content is protected" and something about not being able to play in this display type.  And now my other Blu Rays won't play either
So - I've already gone through the basics....I've used Revo Uninstaller to completely remove the old version of MediaSmart DVD.  I've downloaded several different versions of MediaSmart and installed them (while being sure to restart a hundred times in between installations and making sure I've completely removed the old ones)  I've turned off Norton 360 and Windows Firewall while installing them.  And still none of my Blu Rays will play.
Please please help me.  I have a HP Pavillion DV7 3065DX running Windows 7.  I don't do anything too fancy on the computer except play on the internet and use Itunes (and watch movies....well....used to)  If you can fix this, I will name my second child after you....

That sucks, but at least your itunes are back. I don't have anything else, sorry. Except Nuke and Pave.
Do a system restore and use David's method to install the latest Media Smart.
After that it should work, start installing your programs in one at a time to see what is interfering with the Blu-ray player.
You could also try installing a trial version of Cyberlinks Power DVD 11 before doing a system restore, but unfortunately that's not free.
Personally I have had problems with Media Smart too, and I do have Power DVD 8. I will eventually update to Power 11.
The frustrating thing about this is that my Media Smart plays Harry Potter, something is blocking the playback of Blu-ray's and it's like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.
The people who manufacture the format do there very best to put all sorts of copy protection protocols on the disc's. I found it gets to the point where the things won't even play. Finding what is interfering is a big challenge.
The other thing that would probably work too is running SlySoft's Any DVD HD, that removes all the copy protection stuff, and that's not free either, but it does work.
     http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvdhd.html
It's not HP really. Others like Sony, Acer, Toshiba etc are all in the same boat.
Check this thread out, it doesn't look good for lessien either.
     http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/DV7-3165dx-will-not-play-blu-ray/m-p/698379#...
His drive letters are all screwed up, but when I duplicated his situation, my player still worked. Windows doesn't even see the Blu-ray drive at all in his case.
     +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Pending on an answer I am waiting for there may be a newer driver direct from AMD that may work, it's dated 2011, where as the one from HP is from 2009.
There is a good chance that this will solve your problem, but I want to be sure that it will work.

  • Can't play blu-ray disc

We have an Insignia NS-WBRDVD2 Blu-ray disc player.  Tonight we rented a Blu-ray disc and it wouldn't play.  We got the "WARNING, your Blu-ray Player requires an update in order to play this disc" red screen.
We updated the firmware, it rebooted and we still have the same red screen and inability to watch the movie.  The update screen now shows that no update is available since we just did an update.
Please advise how to fix this issue.

Just to give you more information on why nothing can be done.
Blu-Ray uses AACS keys to protect the content. Those AACS keys are updated with new keys in newer movies and manufactures update their players with the new keys. However in your case Insiginia is no longer providing updates for your player after December 2011 which means there is no way to get the new AACS keys for that player to play newer movies using those new keys.

  • Blu-Ray player won't burn a disc. Error Code "0"

Hi all, haven't made the jump to CC so we are using CS6 for everything.
I just recently installed a SSD and deleted/fresh install of the CS6 suite onto the newly wiped internal HD. Everything works perfect, except Encore.
Encore is refusing to burn to a DVD. I have been using CS6 since it went public and I have never once had this issue for a Blu-Ray or a DVD. Now, it won't even recognize that a disc is in the burner. It keeps saying to put in a DVD or a Blu-Ray DVD, hit OK etc. I do this, repeatedly, to no avail. Now I have tried creating a Blu-Ray Image which works perfectly fine. However I couldn't get that Image to burn succesfully to a blu-ray. Now it burnt without an issue, (using windows default burner which may be the issue), but when put into the blu-ray player it is just a black image with no menus or anything.
Back to Encore, It will trans-code the files without incident, it's when it goes to the burning session it will not accept any disc I put in. This is for both a Blu-Ray and a regular DVD. I keep getting Error Code "0" or simply, "insert a blu ray or dvd media disc an hit OK". Occasionally I got "Adobe Encore Failed" and that is it. Not sure what to do. I've been trying to burn since this morning.
I gave in and bought Nero 2015 just now in the hopes I can burn the blu-ray image correctly. Do I have any other options as this needs to be done today as I have to be an event tomorrow.
    Thank you!
    Jason

Adding to that, I am not getting the message "The Device Is Not Ready" and you can hit Retry and endless number of times with no results. Or just cancel and then it says Building Failed. Thoughts?

  • HP MediaSmart DVD won't play Blu-Ray's

I'm hoping someone can help me out in trying to figure out why my HP HDX 18 won't play Blu-Ray movies using HP MediaSmart.
When I pop a Blu-Ray in the optical, HP MediaSmart starts up and it looks like it's going to the play the movie however, it proceeds to ask me if I want to "activate" the app. I click YES thinking it's the first time I've used it so I guess I need to activate it.....however, it then pulls up a browser that directs me to download a patch from CyberLink.
I download and attempt to install the patch however it tells me that MediaSmart is currently installed and the patch requests to uninstall the previous version.
I agree to do so and after a few seconds, it comes up with an error message (error!! the product definition file lost).
I retry MediaSmart thinking this time I'll press NO, I don't want to activate and when I do this, nothing happens at all.
When I open My Computer, I can see the Transformers Blu-Ray in the drive and can right click and Explore the Blu-Ray as well so I know the drive is seeing it.
I called HP support and while the guy was nice enough, he was at a complete loss in trying to figure out why my Blu-Ray player would not play any movies. He tried multiple steps from going to the MSCONFIG and disabling all programs at Start Up, disabling Windows Installer (not sure why he wanted to try this step), to trying to recover the program from the partition itself. Nothing worked.
His final resolution was to perform a complete system recovery which I balked at as I have multiple programs installed (that would have to be reinstalled) and don't feel it necessary to perform a system recovery to "fix" my Blu-Ray issue.
And just to clarify, yes...my optical drive is indeed Blu-Ray optical drive.
Any advise or direction anyone can point me in would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Encore CS4 won't go into Blu-ray authoring mode

CS4 running on an HP Z800 with a Windows 7 operating system. I am trying to author my first Blu-ray project. The encode from the timeline went fine. When going into Encore, however, trouble starts. After filling in the new project screen (title, Blu-ray, 1280 x 720, MPEG-2, 59.94 fps) the project window opens up. Everything in the project window is still set for a SD DVD. I change the burner selection to the Blu-ray burner, and then select the Blu-ray option. At that point the little circular blue indicator starts rotating...and continues to do so. I've let it go for as long as five minutes and nothing changes. Then I go into the Task Manager and the entire computer seizes up, causing me to have to shut down manually. What is going on and why won't Encore go into the Blu-ray authoring mode?
    Thanks.
    Spencer

    Ramesh!
Thank you so much...it worked! After installing the pxhelp engine the Blu-ray function within Encore came up and appears to be functional. One more question for you, if you don't mind. As I said in my original post, the program was encoded for Blu-ray directly from the timeline using the Adobe Media Encoder. The resulting file came in at just about 16GB. Once I brought that file into Encore as a timeline, though, it was only 7GB and it was listed as "Untranscoded." Shouldn't an encoded file for Blu-ray function just like an encoded file for a DVD? If not, did I miss a step? Does it have anything to do with the pxhelp file, since the program was encoded before that file was downloaded? Any assistance you can provide here will be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Spencer
