Insipre 4.1 speakers system with an audigy sound card

I have a sound blaster audigy card with insipre 4.1 speakers. My speakers just stopped working. I have downloaded the latest versions of all the creative drivers, run the diagnostics, and checked all sound settings. Everything is correct as far as my settings go.
I plugged my headphones directly into the sound card and they are working just fine.
Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Ershoff,
You really got me spinning. You mention in the first post that you had used a headphone to test the sound card and there is sound output but now you mention the another speaker you used on the card had no sound output. Are you using a digital speaker set?
Try testing the Inspire speaker first as I believe the problem may lies on the speaker and not the sound card.

• UNRECONIZED PROBLEM WITH SB AUDIGY SOUND CARD

Hi, you all. Pls help me with this problem of my SB Audigy Platinum (SB0060). In Windows XP or even Windows Vista, they can find out my sound card as an Multimedia new hard ware, but when I install sound card driver from CD (original CD driver) fail to install and a message like this: "we cannot find any support products in this computer, pls make sure that is is plugged in your computer already...". I am very disappointed with this 'cause i really like the quality of this Creative sound source. Pls help me. Thanks a lot! Pls answer me : [color="#000099">[email protected](PS: THIS CD DRIVER COMES WITH THIS SOUND CARD BOX, AND I TRY TO INSTALL A NEW FRESH WINDOWS WITH STANDING ALONE SOUND CARD WITH NO CONFLICT TO OTHER PCI CARD, STILL FAILED)

That is quite odd. Your Audio HQ should look like this: http://img23.echo.cx/img23/8494/hqdecode7kl.jpg. If not, then you should uninstall you drivers (using the CTZAPXX.exe app on the CD) and reinstall them.
2. When I choose to calibrate my speakers -> basic, FL, FR, RL, RR, C plays ok BUT after that a low freq sound plays for 3 secs then my SL and SR starts to play a high freq beeps respecti'vely...
The program does the same thing on my old T5400 and my current Cambridge MegaWorks 550. My brother has the Audigy 2 ZS also and his Logitech Z-5300s do it as well. I think the program is funky, not your speakers.
3. Since I want to enjoy DTS, I downloaded Windvd, cofigured it to 8 channels (7.). But the SL and SR wont play anything... So I tried Windvds test and all goes well until it is SL and SR turn, they dont play anything... Almost the same as the speaker calibration app. BUT note that in the Creative THX setup console everything works well...

Go into the Options for your DVD software (this applies to any player, not just WinDVD) and set it to S/PDIF Passthrough. This will send the digital signal to your card, which will see it and decode it. Setting WinDVD to 7. mode will try to have the CPU decode the signal. If it doesn't work with WinDVD, then try using Media Player Classic 6.4.x.x and setting the decoder settings to Digital Passthrough. Note that you need to make sure the that decoders are enabled in the Audio HQ (for which you may need to reinstall your drivers.
Note: DTS-ES supports 6.. Dolby Digital EX supports 7., I think.

• Attached mixing board with audigy sound card probl

i am using a mixing board with an audigy sound card the porgram im using has 2 channels a and b the music plays only on one port i used to be able to sue up the 2 different songs on 2 volume controls now both songs play in the 2 channels but sound is only controlled by one volume control?it has played properly for over 3 years with no problems until tonight?anyone have any ideas?thanks

Okay, I'm assuming you mean you have a stereo connection to rear Line-out and 2 and that you want both Line-outs to play the same stereo signal. If you are trying for something different, then post additional explanation, and we can go from there. I have not heard of an SB9400 before. You should be able to find the serial number on a white sticker on the card. That would identify the model. I think all Audigies have a Speaker Settings applet. So in Speaker Settings, do you have 4/4. speakers selected? If you have an EAX Console, do you have a CMSS3D option? (It might be called simply CMSS on some Audigies.) If so, select that. If you have a stereo surround option, select that. For the Audigy 2 ZS, for example, CMSS3D stereo surround will route the same stereo signal to Line-out & 2 (and optionally to Line-out 3).

• [SOLVED] No sound on SPDIF with Intel ICH10 Sound Card

Hi everyone,
I'm coming from Fedora 12 and recently got a fresh installed Archlinux. I'm very satisfied by the distribution and everything works just as expect for the moment, except one thing : SPDIF output of my sound card.
I installed the following packages :

$ aplay -D iec958:CARD=Intel,DEV=0 tmp/Norrlanda.wav
gives absolutly nothing (I tested the HDMI output and it's fully functionnal).
I unmuted everything that could be unmuted on alsamixer and tested varied combo of options snd_hda_intel model=XXXX (as I read that those type of card can have issue of this kind). I try to delete the /etc/asound.state file, various configuration in /etc/asound.conf. But nothing.
In last resort, I rebooted on a F12 LiveCD and there… everything works fine ! The SPDIF output works just great, without any manipulation (with the same command as above). I tried to import the configuration of /etc/alsa, /etc/pulse and /etc/modprobe.d from this F12 LiveCD (looking if there was any special options about sound card I can just copy/paste to Archlinux) but this failed one more time.
I really really don't see what I can do to solve this problem (and I already spend 2 entire days on this issue without any result… frustrating). So if someone's got a solution or suggestion (some configurations I can try) on this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx to jonnor on the IRC Archlinux Channel, it works now !!
For everyone experiencing the same problem with DG45 intel sound card (Codec: IDT 92HD73E1X5 to be accurate), the documented module is not the right one. Use model=no-jd if you want to have the SPDIF output functionnal.

• Problem with SB1240 USB sound card

I'm pulling hair here! I've just bought a SB240. Windows (XP Pro, SP3) detected it and I can select it fine for listening. But when I open Sound and Audio Device Properties and select Sound Recording/Volume, I see the Capture panel with the three inputs, but all the controls are greyed out and immovable. I also use the application "Total Recorder" by High Criteria, in which I can select the SB240 device but the only input line it sees is SPDIF Interface.
I'm stumped. Can anyone help?
John?

&Re: Problem with SB240 USB sound card
Thank you. I did a complete uninstall, including the device itself (from Device Manager) as well as all drivers and any SB related software. As recommended by Creative, I had previously installed the driver software from the supplied CD and that seems to have been the problem.
I let Windows re-detect the SB, but? got a "problem ... device may not work correctly.." during the detection, so I was not hopeful (this had not happened the first time I installed the device).
Nevertheless it now does work fully and is properly configured in "Total Recorder" too.
So I would suggest not using the supplied drivers and software - at least not in WinXP. But it's not very confidence inspiring.

• Audition 3.0 Compatability With Lynx L22 Sound Card

I just got a new PC with Lynx L22 Sound Card which works fine with Audition 1.5, but in 3.0 it records only left or right channel audio through both channels...not stereo In the Audio Hardware Setup Screen the only defaults available are to choose left or right inputs, no stereo option exists. I can override these settings and choose stereo inputs in Multi-track mode, individually for each track and session, but the default settings do not offer this option.
How do I set the default Input/outputs for Edit View and Multi-Track Views to normal stereo mode?

• Adobe Audition does not work together with Audigy sound cards.

Dear friends, pleasae, help. I use Adobe Audition sound processing program, my sound cars are of the Audigy line. Recording control does not work, a known bug, says Adobe. Play control works fine, but I'd like to make quality recordings. Something is not O.K.with the ASIO system, I figure. The case is the same with PCI as well as PCMCIA Audigy products.
Tell me, please:
-Is there a patch or workaround to fix this problem?
-If not Audigy, what sound cards then?
Getting help from Adobe isn't quite simple, but maybe, Audigy fans know better.
[ordas]

If you mean the recording source/level control in Surround Mixer (etc.) ... it is not working because of it's bypassed by the ASIO driver ... so, it's not a bug but normal behaviour. You just adjust the recording level in Audition (or in any other software). Normally you need to select
- "AnalogMix()" input port option for analog line sources like Line-In, Audio CD, AUX-In, etc.
- (Mix L and Mix R are equal w/ the famous "What U Hear" ...
- S/PDIF for digital input
- etc.. here are some reading on Creative Audigy ASIO matter -
http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=1726
Remember also set monitoring properly in software so you can hear what you're recording. This is normally set through a tiny 'speaker icon' found in every tracks header ('settings options').
BTW, if you check the "Wave" source channel/slider when running in ASIO mode, you'll find out that it won't work either (it's all the same if you mute it). This is normal behaviour too, even when working in WDM/KS (Kernel streaming mode (or w/ Asio4All (which uses WDM/KS functionality))) ... it's just because of the kmixer is being bypassed ...

• Question about Audigy sound card

Hi everyone, right now i have a very outdated sound card, a creative li've 6 bit. It sucks i'm not going to lie. But anyways, i have my home theatre system hooked up into it through a Y splitter cable so that i can hook the rca cables into the /8 slot in the sound card.
If i turn up the speakers really loud, i hear a static noise, a hum and fuzz if you will. The music usually drowns it out but then if the music stops i'm left with an awful hum. I am for sure upgrading to the Audigy Extreme, and i'm wondering if that would have any affect? I know the sound of the actual movie or song will be way better, but how about that hum?
Hopefully you all can help!
thanks so much!

sprint_9,
Yes, you're right. The Digital I/O module isn't compatible with the Audigy 2 ZS soundcard.
You should be able to find a 3.5mm mono to RCA cable easily from your local audio/electronic stores if not, you can also get a 3.5mm stereo to dual RCA cable for the same purpose. Take note, only one end of the RCA cable has the audio signal(Sorry, can't remember whether it's the white or the red end).
You can also find such cable from online stores like this.

All creative sound cards that i've used, three i think in the past year. SB Li've, SB Audigy 2 ZS, and the Audigy 2 Zs Platinum Pro. Every time i connect speakers or headphones to the jack, i get really REALLY low sound output, also before windows loads or shuts down i hear a "bump" coming from my speakers/headphones.... I have no idea whats going on....

p4. 3.0
DFI Lanparty 875 rev. B
gig corsair pc4000 dual channel
2x raptor raid 0
SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
ATI Radeon x800pro
Headphones i use are bose acoustic 2 headphones
Speakers are logitech x-530
If anyone has had this happen to them before or if anyone has any possible remedies for this I would really appreciate, if this doesnt help im done with creative sound cards =/
[edit]: forgot to mention this is only for the audio jacks on the sound card itself, on the ZS platinum pro, when i connect to the jack on the hub, the sound is alrightMessage Edited by mrkuku on 06-2-2005 06:36 AM

figured out my problem, my built in sound card drivers were conflicting with the creative drivers. Thought that if i turned off the built in sound card from bios that i wouldn't need to delete the drivers also. Thanks for any that read this and tried to figure it out. Now its working like a charm.

Hello,
My midi keyboard isn't registering on Logic Pro 8 and I can't work out why. It's all plugged up correctly. The sound card outputs fine - I can hear what I've previously recorded but can't input any more. Any help gratefully received.

Hi, thanks for reply. I was running Logic Express but upgraded. Now I seem to have problems. I have latest drivers for my audiophile. The operating system is 10.4.11. The keyboard just doesn't seem to register - in or out. I've spent hours on the environment, trying to decide which of the conflicting video tutorials to follow......

• Can you use DSP VI's in realtime with a standard sound card?

In some of the example i have seen mention of a NI speedy 33 card that can be used with the DSP vis to carry out realtime chnages to sound, i cant think of a reason why not but is it possible to do this by outputting the realtime data to a normal soundcard?
Thanks!

Hi ATE Man,
I think your referring to the tutorial below
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/c4e0fd8ed74cfaa18625708500649ce1
If this is the case, then you could implement a similar system using LabVIEW under Windows. There are much the same functions under LabVIEW for Windows for manipulating the signal as shown in the tutorial, and there are sound input and output functions available under the 'Graphics and Sound' palette. Whether or not this will be able to show 'realtime' changes to sound will depend on the speed of your PC. There is an example in the Example Finder in LabVIEW 'Simultaneous Sound IO' which will give you an idea of how to read in sound from a microphone and play it back through the speakers, there shouldn't be too much work in adding some signal manipulation to this.
I hope this helps, if you have any questions, then please let me know

• Sound card problems but with yet another sound card

hello,
I got the MSI K8T Neo FIS2R just a few weeks ago and it really does kick arse but with only one not so big problem.
I have this Hercules Muse DVD 5.1 that works perfectly fine with my previous config (Athlon XP 1800+, ECS K7S5A). But with the K8T with onboard sound disabled, it will play music for a while then freeze then give me a plain black screen. ... That's not cool.
I have, of course, installed the latest hercules (C-Media) and VIA drivers as well as the latest BIOS.
If anyone could help me solve this problem,
Thx,

• Playing back files at 96KHZ in Sonar with built-in sound card is not working

I just bought a dv6-2150us a few days ago for music recording. I tried opening a few files in Sonar that were recorded at 96KHZ and they won't play. Files recorded at 44.1KHZ are playing back fine...and at very low latency with the ASIO drivers.
Anyone have this kind of problem? I'm searching the Cakewalk forums, though I'm wondering if other audio recording programs (ie Cubase, Reaper, etc.) would have the same problem.

Please, someone help!
