Inspection in Repetitive mfg.
Dear Sir,
In repetitive mfg. i m using T-code MFPR
PLease give me the next steps?
Points will be rewarded
Hi Sonal,
In REM, you need to use the inspection type 13 to be activated in the material master QM-view. Also, you need Production version for the material MRP4 view. Goto MFPR, give material, Production verion and plant. Drill down the line item and select the material and click on Create Inspection Lot. Inspection lot will be created. Inspection Lot size obtained will be that of the value which you`ve specified in the production verion. Goto QA32 do results recording and take usage decision asually.
One thing you need to note is that only one inspection lot can exist for a combination of material , PV and plant. New lot can be created only after UD has been taken for earlier lot.
Reward if cleared and close the thread.

In-process inspection in repetitive mfg- Inspection type - 13
Hi there,
Can any one please tell me what is the differrence between the inspection type -03 & 13.
As per my understanding the only diff is that 03 is used in discrete mfg & 13 in repetitive mfg...
what is the other differrence ........??
Regrads
KaushikHello Kaushik,
actually you have already found out that 03 is for descrete and 13 for repetive manufacturing. What is the difference?
03 Descrete Manufacturing : Limited production numbers and can be assigned to a customer order. Example: A computer built with various extras (built to order).
Accordingly inspection plans and inspection points assigned can be configured rather freely.
13 Repetitive Manufacturing: Production lines produce the same product in an unlimited number over a longer period of time. Example: Screws M8 x 40 mm (Mass production). In this case inspection plans need a relation to either time, numbers etc.
I hope that this information answers your question.

Quality inspection in repetitive mfg
Hi
I have some queries in quality inspection setup for REP MFG.
1. Setting up inprocess inspection
2. GR Inspection from production
3. At what stage the QM lot is generated .
The inspection types used for PP-P1 03 and 04 hold good for above or should I take other inspection type.
Best wishes
MuraliHi Bhramankar,
I have not got chance to work on the REM Live environment. But I am very anxious to work over it if I will have chance.
I have posted the thread regarding the same about the Order when I read the process scenario form the Library material on [Repetitive Manufacturing|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/8a/1a1eff4e4211d182be0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm].
Where the last line have link to capture the Quality inspection for REM.
The [Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/8a/1a1d794e4211d182be0000e829fbfe/content.htm] may have leaded me to write such.
If have misguided him, I sincerely APOLOGIES for that. And deeply regretted for the same.
I truly request you to posture some focus over in process inspection in REM and cultivate our information.
I again thank you for your inputs.
Dear Dharam,
The SAP standard inspection type is 13 for REM.
How to capture it? I have a [Document|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/8a/a5aadd4adc11d189740000e8322d00/frameset.htm] it may help you.

Repetitive mfg - In-process inspection
Hi,
Can we do in-process inspection in repetitve mfg.
Regards,
Sravan KumarDear,
Inspection Type 13 Repetitive Manufacturing: Production lines produce the same product in an unlimited number over a longer period of time. Example: Screws M8 x 40 mm (Mass production). In this case inspection plans need a relation to either time, numbers etc.
In the material master record for the finished product, you must set the indicator for quality inspection in the Quality Management view. Moreover, in the QM inspection data, you must also select and activate an inspection type with the origin 13 (repetitive manufacturing).

Error while giving the production line in repetitive mfg
Hello friends,
When i am maintaining the production version in material master for repetitive mfg, and in production line when i am giving the workcenter which is in operation of rate routing, system giving me the error message that "REP01(which is my workcenter) is not maintained in plan (planning type = plant = smp1)".Message no. is CFVO90.
Though i have got the solution of this message, but i am not able to understand the solution.
Actually while creating the production version in material master, for task list data i was only maintaining the task list type, Group Number and Group counter for Rate Based only as Rate Routing. And when i would give the workcenter which is in operation of rate routing then system would give me the error.
Later on when i maintained the Task list type, Group Number and Group counter for Detailed scheduling, Rate Routing, and Rough cut scheduling and than maintained the workcenter in production line, system didn't give the error.
My question is as we are doing the repetitive mfg, and as we have maintained the rate routing, so why it so that in Detailed scheduling and rough cut scheduling also we have to maintain the Task list type, Group Number and Group counter.
Plz guide.Hello pravin,
Thanks for the reply.
Actually if i give the details of Task list type, Group, Group counter for Rate based scheduling only in production version and if i maintain the workcenter which i have given in the operation of Rate Rounting in production line then system is throwing the error mentioned above.
Unless and until i mention the details of Rate Routing for all i.e. Detailed scheduling, Rough cut scheduling and Rate based scheduling, system is not allowing me to save the production version.
As per your answer, even i am confused that as i have ticked the repetitive mfg in mrp 4 view and as i have given REM profile, so system should not give me the error when i only maintain the rate routing data in Rate based scheduling in production version.
Is there any other way to solve this error. If not than whats the logic behind it.
I hope u have understood my query. -
In Process Inspection for Repetitive Manufacturing
Hi All,
I'm trying to perform in-process inspection for repetitive manufacturing. I have a semi finished material which has the inspection type 13 activated in the material master. Rate routing for it has also been created. Characteristics have been assigned to its operation and the routing is attached to a production version. When I o to MFPR to create a lot, I specify the material, plant and production version with QM active (tried the other 2 options as well) but when I execute, nothing shows up in the list. When I click on create inspection lot, it says, "either select versions or place cursor on versions now" but there's nothing in the list?
Regards,
BilalHi,
Please check whether the repetitive manufacturing check box and REM profile is defined in the MRP4 of material master.
Please define that and try to run the transaction MFPR.
It should solve your problem

Repetitive mfg wip calculation
hi,
i have one doubt about repetitive mfg wip calcualtion, if we are useing backflush function material issue is at the time of confirmation only, in period end wip calculation where is cost for calculating wip?
if i am wrong please suggest me the right solution
rgds
gopalDear Santhosh
In the repetitive manufacturing scenario the WIP is based at target costs. Based at target costs means the items of the according cost estimate used in the valuation are standardized to the WIP quantity at each operation.
The WIP qty. at the operation is the confirmed qty. minus scrap minus the GR quantity.
The valuation is of cause based on a cost estimate and therefore only the components and activities from this cost estimate are used to determine the WIP. The component quantities are not taken from the backflush but from the cost estimate.

In-process inspection in repetitive manufacturing
Hi,
My client handles assembling of electronic products. product passes through different set of operations where in it proceeds to the next operation only when the prior operation is approved in terms of quality.
We are trying to go with repetitve mfg but we are unable to understand in-process inspection operation wise. Pls advise is this feasible or we only need to go with discrete mfg with production orders.

Edited by: SRAVAN KUMAR on Oct 6, 2008 6:45 AMDear,
1. Setting up inprocess inspection
for inprocess REM you have to maintained inspection type 13 in material master. and select task list. for that you have to maintained inspection point in your rate routing for ex for partial lot quantity based.
2. GR Inspection from production
then you go for result recording for inspection point and do the reporting point backflushed through result recording of every inspection point.
3. At what stage the QM lot is generated .
for that you have to create inspection lot in t code MFPR for your production version and for that inspection lot you have do above work.

In-Process Quality Inspection in Rep Mfg
Hi..
We have Rep Mfg scenario , and we want to chk the material while in-process.
In the Mtl Mastr we have maintained Insptn type as 13 .
In Rate Routing we have maintained a operation with control key which requires Insptn characteristics n MIC is assigned in routing.
We have created a Planned order .
Now , requirement is dat system should not allow backflush activity until in-process inspetion rresult is recorded.
Whether Inspetion Lot gets created in Rep Mfg as soon as Planned Order is created..?
How to make the system to accomodate in - process inspection before backflush..?
Please guide me with soln
With Regards,
LNHi
Try by selecting reporting point in the rem profile.
suppose u have 10 operations ok
first 3 operations are production operation then 4th u want to go for inprocess inspection then for the 3rd operation select the control key as milestone key and 4th is quality control key with milestone confirmation.
Then when ever u go for backflush(MFBF) first u have to confirm the up to 3rd operation then 4th operation confirmation.
by this u can do the inprocess inspection scenario for REM -
Report for Material consumption quantity & its cost in Repetitive MFG.
Hello,
Is there any Standard Report available in SAP to check the Quantity of raw / intermediate material consumed & their cost in Repetitive manufacturing Backflush transaction MFBF?
ThanksHere I'm interesed in the MFBF Qty & against which the consumption of Raw Materials & their cost.
The reports which you asked me to check are all structures & not much of use for individual analysis.
My requirement: When we access the material document(MB51) of the individual MFBF we get all the Raw material Consumption Qty & from there we can go to FI Doc (A/c Document). In A/c documet we get the cost of all Raw materials consumed alongwith the Qty.
Is there any report or I need to develope a new report? -
Error as Production Version = or repetitive mfg indicator cannot be deleted
Hi Guys,
Please let me know before I delete the Production version for a material what are all the steps I need to carryout.
Requesting to explain with detailed steps/Points.
Cheers,
Kumar.SDear Kumar,
1.First check whether is there any planned order assigned with this production version in MD04 or else in MD16.
2.Either confirm these planned orders using T COde MFBF or else delete these orders in MD16 or else in MD12.
3.Also clear the reprocessing list present in MF47.
4.Do the variance calculation and settlement (KO88)
4.Now here this issue can handled in 2 ways, one is set the valid to date as the system's date to the production version.
5.If you want to delete the production version, then the cut off period has to be set by the CO part and proceed.
Check these links,.

Triggering Repetitive manufacturing inspection lot - insp type 13
Dear Expert,
I have activated 13 insp type for my semi-finish material,
in the routing also for the last operation control key has maintained.
Finally in the production version also we have selected the the same routing.
I am not able to create Inspection lot for repetitive manufacturing.
Please tell me what settings need to be done.
Thanks
DONDear DON,
Before posting thread please refer to earlier created theards you may find some thing which you were looking for related to your query.
you will definatly find the solution,If the threads are not there then post the new thread with your query. Our great Gurus will help the needy.
please refer to
[In Process Inspection of Repetitive Manufacturing;
for your repetitive manufacturing
if this is not enough, follow this as given below.
MM01/MM02
Activate inspection type 09 at the time of material creation. AND enter the number of days in the field "Inspection interval" in QM view.
This field indicates at what frequency in days you need to trigger the recurring inspection lot.
QA05
Define a variant for recurring inspection lot generation. Refer the below pasted link for the same.
Related Thread
It will trigger the inspection lots according to the date of next inspection date in he Batch.
QP01
You need to keep a inspection plan ready to record results for this lot.
QA32
Record Results for the inspection lot.
Perform UD for the lot.
To create variant through QA05 will not enough. You need to schedule the job, and release them also.
To check whether you have successfully scheduled the job or not.
Run QA05, here you will be able to see a line item for the variant you have created. correct?
1}
So select that line and click on the button "DISPLAY SCHEDULING", if the scheduling is not carried out, it will through the "Message no. 38001 - No jobs found in the display client" else will show the it will show "Recurring insp: job planning: list of scheduled requests."
2}
To schedule the job, select the variant line, and click on the button Schedule, it will lead you to the screen Recurring insp: job planning scheduling; start time.
here you need to define "Job start date" and "Batch job start time", then click on "Schedule Periodically" and enter the at what frequency you want to replete the job run.
At the this frequency (e.g. if you select day 1) then it will run the job daily at the time you have entered at "Batch job start time".
3}
Then replete the 1} to view your scheduling details. And the job is not released then release them else it will again not run and you will not have the lot.

"Inspection interval" is defined in the QM view of Material Master, and the system is calculating the Next inspection date from mfg. date automatically, and feeding it automatically in the relevant field in the Batch.
Hence, we need to change u201CNext inspection dateu201D manually for each previous batch if it is revised on the basis of stability, which is practically vary difficult.
Requirement: Retest period shall be revised if changed updated in material master for inspection interval.
AYKDear AYK
From your post it appears that you have Batch Management activated lready and QM functionality you are trying to activate subsequently.
I think you need to make use of Recurring inspection for Batches with Shelf Life Expiry Date (SLED) then only this functionality will work in totality. For this purpose in QM view add Inspection interval period alongwith SLED data
You can use Trigger manually ( T.code QA07) or Job planning ( T.code QA05) for this purpose.
Incase you just want to update next Inspection, you need to do one by one OR make LSMW for same.
Hope this will give you clue

GIRISH -
We have a BOM with item A as FG, B as SFG & C as raw material.
A & B are produced using Repetitive mfg with REM profile GR/GI together.
B is to be handled using kanban, for which Supply area, Control cycle are created as well as Replenishment strategy & Status sequence is configured.
The requirement is as follows:
(1)On running MRP for item A, system should generated planned orders for item A & PRs/schedule lines for item C.
(2)On production confirmation of item B using transaction code:MFBF, the bin status should automatically become FULL from its initial status EMPTY.
(3)On production confirmation of item A using transaction code:MFBF, the bin status for its component Bshould automatically become EMPTY from its status FULL.
Similarly, the movement bin status for item B automatically becomes EMPTY, it should trigger a Planned order generation in MD04 list for item B.
Regards,
RanjeetHi,
If u want to handle B(HALB) with kanban system then
1) Create supply area in the mfg storage location
2) Create control cycle with replenishment strategy"In house Mfg" strategy type "Planned order with MRP".
So once u run the MRP for material A(FERT) then planned gets generated against A and B also.
Once u trigger the kanban card for material B then one planned order gets generated and MRP generated planned qty gets reduced.
EG:
MRP triggered planned order qty is 100.00Qty
If ur bin qty is like 20.00qty
Once u trigger the kanban card then
20.00qty planned order gets generated (KANBAN planned order)
Then MRP triggered planned order reduced to 80.00qty.
Once u trigger the kanban card bin becomes "Empty".
After Mfg execution production confirmation done thr' T CODE PK41 not thr' MFBF.
Once u execute PK41 transaction bin status changes to full automatically.
Regards
Vijay
