Inspection Interval

Hello Friends
My requirement is somewhat like this;
Inspection Interval ( for recurring inspection ) is defined in QM view of the Material Master. Sometimes, it happens that supplier himself suggests Reinspection of the material after an interval which is less than that of specified in the Material Master and it will be applicable only to the specific batch of said material. In such cases, client want the flexibility of manually specifying the Retest Date at the time of UD ( the way we specify SLED ). We can think of of at the time of GR too. Any suggestions on this issue are welcome.
Thanks.
mahesh

Mahesh,
These are the steps to be followed:
Customisation:
- SPRO>QM>QI>Insp lot completion>Define follow-up actions. In this create a function with "Usage decision for insp lot" and enter a text.
- Select that Function and double click on Function modules. Here you need to define the 'Z' function module which you will be creating for calling the MSC2N BDC.
Master data:
In QS51 - For catalog 3 /plant/*.   Select 04 / 03 Selected Set and choose the codes for this set. In the right side you have the option of entering the Function defined in customisation.
With the above when ever the used enters the UD, the function module is called which calls up the dialog box for date entry and then the BDC.
So depending on your requirement you could enter the fucntions for the required UD codes.
Hope is clear to you now.

    1) why there is a need of giving inspection interval?
inspection interval Specifies the interval between different quality inspections.....what does it mean?
when we can decide when to create recurring inspection in variant & run through QA05 or QA07 why there is need of Inspection interval?
    2) How recurring inspection automatic/manual is related with inspection interval?

  • Next inspection date is not updated in batch / prposed at the time of UD

    Hi
I have configurted the system for retest of batches, the system successfully creates the inspection lot but when does not propose next inspection date at the time of UD nor it updates in Batch Master.
I entered inspection interval days in QM View, the system entered the first inspection date correctly. Also Batch Restriction is working properly.
    Kindly help.
    regards
    Mobashir

    Hi Shaymal & VRMP
I have checked the system, the only problem I am facing is that the system does not show next inspection date dialog box at the time of UD where I can see the next inspection date being set by the system
Say, I use QA07 (Triggered Manually) on 19.jan.08. The Next inspection date was 26.jan.08 and Initial Run in Days was 10 (days), the system created inspection lot on 19.jan.08 successfully. At the time of UD it automatically set 29.jan.08 as the next inspection date (i.e. 19.jan.08 + 10 days)  istead of 06. Feb.08 (i.e. 26.jan.08 + 10 days) without showing dialog box / suggesting next inspectino date.

  • Deactivate creation of new next inspection date on re-GR

Our user created GR (MIGO) against a PO and subsequently a new batch with a next inspection date was created based on inspection interval set to 730 days.
The user agin after a few days did GR against the same PO and the next inspection date was again calculated based on this GR date and the interval. We do not want this re-assignment of the next inspection date once it has been set. Please help.
    Mrunal

The problem is a user error.
When you receipt a material that has a shelf life requirement, you must enter in the production date, (manufacture date), in the GR.  If you don't, it will default in the current date and usse that to calculate the expiration date.
On the second receipt, the same thing will happen.  If the same batch is specified, if I remember correctly, the system should give a message that "batch has already been receieved" or some kind of warning.  For the production date, I believe it will still default in the current date.  I think there is another warning that the expiration date will be recalculated and a "do you want to continue" question.  If they blow through all these warnings, the system takes the new manufacture date and recalculates the new expiration date.  To the best of my knowledge you can't change this.  The users must be trained to ALWAYS enter in the correct prodcution date.

  • Creat 'recurring inspection' in Deadline monitoring of Batches

    Hi guys,
    Conditions:
    (1) Today is '11.24.2011''.
    (2) MSC3N
    - 'Shelf Life Exp. Date' is '11.30.2011' and 'Next Inspection' is '12.10.2011'.
    (3) QA07
    - 'Initial run in days' is '30' and Check radiobutton at 'To insp.stock at lot creation' in the 'Additional goods movement at time of recurring inspection' box.
'Initial run in days' is '00' and Check 'Block batch' in the 'Batch status change when expiration date is reached' box.
i think, in order for the 'Shelf Life Exp. Date' to arrive first, no recurring inspection lot created??
But, when i am running QA07, the system automatically creates 'recurring inspection'.
The inspection lot not to make automatically, it will be able to setting??

    Dear,
The function for recurring inspections allows you to monitor the quality of batches contained in the warehouse stock.
For this purpose, an inspection date is calculated (in addition to the expiration date) when a batch is received in a goods receipt shipment
To be able to determine the inspection date, you must enter an inspection interval when you maintain the QM data in the material master record. The inspection interval defines the time period that must expire before the next recurring inspection must be carried out.
A program that is run periodically (batch job) monitors the batch materials in the warehouse and causes one of the following activities to be carried out when the inspection date is reached or exceeded:
    Inspection lot creation
Inspection lot creation and batch posting to inspection stock
Inspection lot creation and changing status of batch to "not released"
If the expiration date is reached or exceeded for a batch, the batch is blocked. This changes the batch status to "not released" or causes the batch quantity to be posted to blocked stock, if the batch status management function is not active. In this case, an inspection lot is not created.
When you make a usage decision to accept an inspection lot, the batch quantity is posted to unrestricted-use stock or the batch status is changed to "released," depending on the option you selected.
The system calculates the next inspection date for the batch and stores it in the batch record.

  • Automatic recurring inspection

    Hi Gurus
Is it possible to have a recurring inspection automatically? Can SAP create inspection lots based on the inspection intervals without having to go to QA07?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
In Recurring Inspection: Inspection lots are created automatically, based on the "Inspection Interval" set in the Material Master QM View.
    1. Based on the Retest date, the system creates Inspection lots automatically (when sceduled in QA05)
    2. You can use "Initial Run in Days" days so that, the system creates Inspection lots in those days.
    3. Based on the SLED and Retest date, the system transfers the stock to Blocked or QI stocks respectively
You can also use Manual Scheduling by QA07
    But, please ensure that:
    1. Material is Batch Managed
    2. Shelf life expiry date is populated
    3. Inspection type 09 is activated in QM view
for all the materials requiring Recurring Inspection.
    Regards,
    Krishna

  • Setting up inspection point in a scenario require more than one inspection

    Hi all,
Maybe I am still not very clear on the PP-QM conceptu2026 hope you can see my problem on the following questionu2026..
According to SAP in the QM-production environment, we key in ONE inspection point in the task list header level (i.e. either the master recipe, routing, or rate of routing).
Based on the following business scenario which is going to use inspection point for the inspection:
u2022     Time-based intervals (for example, an inspection point every hour or for each work shift)
u2022     Quantity-based intervals (for example, an inspection point for each container)
u2022     Freely-defined intervals (for example, an inspection point each time a tool change occurs)
Since each of the above scenarios require more than one inspection points to be created and to be assigned to the task list header.
Thus, how to accomplish multiple inspection point assignment when the task-list header only allow me to assign one inspection point at a time?
    Thanks
    YY

    Hi guys,
Thanks. However, in the SAP help portal it does said the system allows several inspection points to be assigned to an inspection operation whether it is in routing or recipe.
Therefore, does it means I can assign more than one inspection points in the operation detail level for either recipe or routing if I will to click the u201CNo relationu201D radio button in the u201CQuality Management: Inspection Pointu201D section. (i.e. is this is the right place to allows this assignment)?
For example, on the change master recipe screen at the Operation tab, I highlight one line item (i.e. one operation line item and zoom into this operation line item, I donu2019t see any field box that allow me to assign several inspection points to an operation? Instead, on the u201CQuality Management: Inspection Pointu201D section, there are the following fields appear:
    - Insp.pointCompletion dropdown box
    - 4 radio buttons on the inspection interval (ie. Time-related, Qty-related, No-relation) and its subseq time and quantity value input box.
    - Quan.pt. lot checkbox
    - Last Part Lot Assgmt checkbox
Thus, where is the section in the operation overview screen at Master Recipe or Routing level that I can assign several inspection points?
    Thanks
    YY

  • Next inspection date

"Inspection interval" is defined in the QM view of Material Master, and the system is calculating the Next inspection date from mfg. date automatically, and feeding it automatically in the relevant field in the Batch.
Hence, we need to change u201CNext inspection dateu201D manually for each previous batch if it is revised on the basis of stability, which is practically vary difficult.
Requirement: Retest period shall be revised if changed updated in material master for inspection interval.
    AYK

    Dear AYK
From your post it appears that you have Batch Management activated lready and QM functionality you are trying to activate subsequently.
I think you need to make use  of Recurring inspection for Batches with Shelf Life Expiry Date (SLED) then only this functionality will work in totality. For this purpose in QM view add Inspection interval period alongwith SLED data
You can use Trigger manually ( T.code QA07) or Job planning ( T.code QA05) for this purpose.
Incase you just want to update next Inspection, you need to do one by one OR make LSMW for same.
Hope this will give you clue

  • Recurring Inspection - Retest

    Dear QM  gurus,
We have the following scenario and i need help for the same.
a material MAT1 in plant PL01 have the batch number BATCH01. having next inspection date is 20.08.2011.
(inspection type 09 active, 180 days inspection interval)
I want to create an inspection lot on 01.08.2011 (first day of the month) with 09-inspection type. During this lot creation the stock should not move in QI. It should move only on 20.08.2011.
This is possible by QA07. But, I want to schedule the job in background to make it happen automatically.
Finally, I want to create the inspection lots with 09 at the very first day of the month for those batches which are having next inspection dates within the month and the stock should move to quality inspection only on the next inspection date.
    Please help. thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Dipesh Bhavsar

I think you can do this with two batch jobs.
Batch job one runs on the first day of the month and creates inspection lots for all lots that reach their next inspection date in the next 31 days but you set the indicateor to not post to QI.
This job and variant is scheduled to run on the 1st day of each month.
You set up a second batch job to run every day.  You must also make sure that on the first of the month it runs AFTER the previous batch job described above.  In the variant for this second batch job you specify it to create inspection lots and post to QI for any batches that reach inspection interval in the next day.
What shoudl happen is that on the first, all those batches that reach their inspection interval in the month will get 09 inspection lots created but not moved to QI.  The daily job should not find any new batches to create lots for since this was already done on the first of the month.  But it should move the stock to QI for those lots created on the first of the month that have now actually reached their next inspection date.
You could still have problems as Sujit pointed out with months with fewer or lessor days than 31. I would probably use the 31 day window understanding that for Feb 1, I'm going to pick up batches from March 1-3.  In other runs I'll pick up some from the 1st day of the next month.
If you really wanted to avoided that, you could set up 12 yearly batch jobs with the correct number of days so that this is avoided.  But I think that is overkill and a monthly job with a 31 day window would probably be acceptable for most clients.

  • Recurring Inspection - QM

    Hi All,
I am trying to create inspection lot from QA07. My selection items include material , plant , batch and from "additional goods movement" tab I have selected "lot creation only" and Initial run in days "1". But inspection lot is not creating as I want to created inspection lot despite stock relevent to QI.
The message is "No batch have been found for processing" .
    Can anyone guide me?
    With Regards,

    Hi
Please go through the following steps & maintain the same
    > Batch management should be active against material.
    > Next inspection date should be maintained.
    > Inspection interval should be maintained according to next inspection date.
    > UD must be completed for the previous inspection lot.

  • 09 inspection lot not getting generated

    Hi Friends ,
I have one material batch for which next inspection date is 7.6.2014 . I have activated 09 inspection type in material master . Now when I am executing QA07 for the material  with checkbox " To insp. stock at lot creation" selected and with initial run in days = 4 . System shows following msg in green :
    "No batches found for processing"
But it should create a lot for the above batch because inspection date is 7.6.2014 . Stock also exist
    Regards

Please go through the following steps & maintain the same
    > Batch management should be active against material.
    > Next inspection date should be maintained.
    > Inspection interval should be maintained according to next inspection date.
    > UD must be completed for the previous inspection lot.

  • Variable Next inspection date

    Hello Forum,
I am working on a requirement of Variable Next inspection date. First time the next inspection time line is after 6 months and 2nd time it should be triggered after 4 months and subsequent one at each month .  There is only single field as Inspection interval in the material master. After looking superficially it looks to me that we can realise this through the exit QEVA0003.
But before designing in detail using this  exit I would like to understand whether we can achieve this with any other standard SAP functionality -. Bespoke development and exits are the last thing I like to suggest to clients if we have standards SAP way to do the same thing .
    Regards
    Kaushik

    You are correct.
The customer exit 'QEVA0003' inputs the next inspection date of batch master.
User can change the next inspection date at transaction MSC2N or MSC5N in SAP standard.
But if you have variable interval for recurring inspection and want to assign next inspection date automatically, you should implement the exit 'QEVA0003'.
    Regards

  • Job planning for recurring inspection

    Hi Experts,
I have created a material with inspection interval 1 days, maintained 09 inspection type, made inspection plan with usage 9 and uploaded unrestricted stock of that material in the storage location. Then i have created a variant in QA07 with initial run 1 day, inspection stock at lot creation and block batch . I have scheduled the variant through QA05 and checked release and finishing of the job. But the batches still remain in unrestricted stock and are not moved to quality stock. What may be the reason, please suggest.

    Dear SM
    You should do these settings
    1) Activate inspection type 09 in the material master
    2) Maintain inspection interval of 1 days in the QM view
    3) When UD is given for the 04 or 01 inspection lot for the first time system automaticaly updates the next inspection date.
    4) You will have run QA07 or schedule it in QA05. In this maintain the materail, plant and run using one of the option and opening period which is intial run days
Inspection lot will created with 09 type. When the UD for this lot is given system automaticaly updates the Next inspection date.
    please check and revert back

  • Recurring inspection of batches

    Hi,
Recurring inspection of batches - 09 inspection type
    lets say
    Manufacturing date - 01/01/2010
    GR date - 01/02/2010
    material master setting
Total Shelf life in - 60days
    Inspection Interval -  60days
next inspection lot date in Batch is showing - 30/03/2010 considering GR date + 60 days
in this case next Inspection lot is considering GR date
actually it should consider Manufacturing date

    Hi,
Ok logically it is right that inspection date is after expiry date then no use but its happen many times in system. I do not think when system calculates inspection date system chek for expiry date..
In above case in case of expiry suppose qty gose in block stock then afetr reaching inspection date nothing will happen in system.
Document posting happens through QI07 will appear in lot of expiry only..
About your doubt inspection interval concept is to assured  quality of material  .Earlier mail I have replied you once you check at time of GR then it has calculate by considering GR date .
Ex-Interval defined is 60 days what it means I have to check quality of material every 60 days okay.
today I hav made GR which has manufacturing date of 30 days before.
So today I am going to check it then I will check it next time after 60 days.
As per your understanding if system considers manufacturing date to calculate next inspection date then in above example today date I have Made GR though I have given 60 time interval system will create lo inspection lot for next inspection immidiately after 30 days

  • Customize Inspection type 09 Recurring Inspection

    Hello,
Our customer needs to analyze how to customize Recurring Inspection. My question is the way of warking of this. I have seen on saphelp some questions, but it is not enough for us.
It is possible to create automatically and inspection lot when we have any stock movement??
Actually the customer have a pool Z, which show al the inspection lot created. Across this pool, the user select usage decision for the stock.
My question is how to configure 09 Recurring inspection, in a similar way that 01,05 or 08.
    Hope your answers.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    For Recurring inspection
1.In material master maintain inspection interval in days
    2.Maintain 09 inspection type
3.Run the transaction QA07 (assign the initial run days and other fields etc., as per requirment).U will get inspection lots
    4. If u require automatic inspection lots goto t-code QA05 do the job planning.
