Inspection lot creation for inspection type 05

Hi Gurus,
We have finished material FERT & semifinished material HALB.We have assigned insp. type 02 & 05 in material master of matl. HALB.When we create production order for FERT & confirm the order , inspection lot is generated for matl.HALB of inspection type 02.
Now we are reversing the goods issue by movement type mb1a, movement 262.In customizing for movement 262 inspection lot origin 05 is assigned.
My problem is that when i reverse the goods issue with mvmt.262, inspection lot is not created for insp. type 05. What should be the reason behind this? or are any changes to be done to above setting?

Hi Ram,
Just check the SPRO setting SPRO---> Quality Management ->Quality Inspection->inspection lot creation--->inspection for goods movement --->deactivate quality inspection for a movt type.
Here against movt type 262 uncheck the QM not active tick.
It will solve your problem.

following is the procedure
1) Material enter against purchase order SFG
2) Quality checks that and send to unrestricted (its an sampling inspection)
3) Issue this material against production order
4) order is confirmed and GR is done for FG
5) FG material goes to quaity for inspection
6) At the time of inspection of FG it is found that FG is rejected because of vendor material
so we keep that stock in blocked stock. now we create an salvage order by CO07 and issue FG and received SFG vendor material by 531 movement
now my prob is i want to record the defect against vendor material because of which it is rejected and my clint wants the report on reson basis

go to OMBS... Here you need to do two things..
1. control reason..here u can mention reason for movement for 531 is requied or optional etc..
2. reason for movement..here u need to maintain the reasons as per ur wish..
like 101---damaged
107--- scratched
etc..
If all these are set, then only you can enter the reasons in the MB11 screen and the same can be viewed in MB51 by adding the reason in the layout...

Default lot size for MRP type

Dear,
Yes you can do it by creating material master with MRP Pofile.
First you need to create MRP Pofile in MMD1 where you need to define the LOT SIZE and MRP TYPE which you want then make these value as Fix Value.
Then Create material master MM01 with this MRP Profile and check your result.

Inspection Lot creation for the 103 movement type

Dear Experts,
we have the requirement of Creating the Inspection lot for the 103 movement type. we have done all the necessary settings for 103 movement type (in OMJJ and under the node Quality Management --> Quality Inspection -->Inspection Lot Creation -->Inspection for Goods Movements) but still I am unable to achieve the results. Same is happening for 105 movements.
Kindly let us know what settings need to be done in order to achieve the same.

Hi,
If you have activated two inspection types (eg 01, 0101) of same inspection lot origin (01), in material master you should have a preferred indicator set for the inspection type for which you want to be selected when you perform goods receipt.
This check box is available in the inspection type set up in the Material master.
Also check whether the post to inspection stock indicator is set for the material (in the inspection type), then only material will be posted to inspection stock.
Please confirm, what happens to the stock after making MIGO. check in MMBE and confirm
Go through the link and maintain the necessary settings. I think default settings for 01 type should work.

I am 100% agree with Bhramankar.
It is possible if there is some Good Receipt is happening there.
As a further addition to it you will be in need to activate the Inspection type 05/06 for the material.
The other way is trigger a QM-Notification with Inbound Delivery. And from The Notification, trigger the lot.

Inspection Lot generation for Movement type 101-O

Hi
I would like to know, which config / Master data need to generate Inspection Lot for Movement type 101-O.
I enter subcontract vendor number and set 'SC Vendor' indicator in purchase order delivery address tab and I created QM data in Material Master.(Insp.Type 01)
While doing GR with reference to purchase Order, stock is Posted to Material provided to vendor - Quality inspection stock. But Inspection Lot
is not generated.
Pl suggest me, What should i do to generate Inspection Lot.

Soln 1) Just check whether Inspection is active for 101 - O in SPRO settings if not, activate the same.
Path: Inspection Lot creation/Inspection for Goods Movement
Soln 2) As you flag "SC Vendor" in PO and make GR all stocks will be shown against the Vendor.
From your question I assume that you would like to do inspection for materials coming from Subcontactor end to your Plant:
If this is the case you dont flag "SC Vendor" in PO, make a normal Goods Receipt for the Subcontracting PO, based on Insp setup in Material Master for 01 Insp type Insp lot will be created.

QM - restrict lot creation in I. Type(08) for S Loc to S Loc transfer

Thanks in advance for reply.
We have requirement for restriction in creation of Inspection Lots using inspection type u2013 08, while stock transfer from storage location to storage location only.
Inspection type 08 is used for stock transfers thourghout various plants.
But in one of the plant, there is internal stock movement from one storage location to another. During this posting system is creating inspection lot(origin 08), which is not required.
Our location is WM and HUM managed.
Please let me know how can I restrict creation if Inspection lot in above case.

Actually we need QM activate for 311 movement type.
We have two scenario in same plant & same material.
1) Storage Location to storage location transfer(HUM managed location)
2) Plant to Plant transfer(without HUM managed location)
In material let say A, I have maintain insp type 08 & in insp type details i have activated isp with HU. Hence when I do the location to location tansfer,system is creating Inspection lot for 08 with handling unit.
But when I transfer the same material from one plant to other,system is not creating lot as this transfer is not with handling unit.
For this I have created one more insp type Z1 & attach to insp lot origin 08 but still insp lot is not created while plant to plant transfer.
Pls suggest.

Sequence creation for Super Type and Sub Type (Parent-Child)

Data Model is structured with Super Type-Sub Type Concept.When data is being inserted in the Super Type table, I will be using a sequence Supertype.NEXTVAL as Primary Key.Now the same sequence will be the Primary Key for Sub Type table also. Can I use Supertype.CURRVAL during insertion in Sub Type table?
If Yes, I have lot of records being created in Super Type table within a second. So before data is being inserted in Subtype table there may be chance of a row being inserted in Super Type table and if I use Supertype.CURRVAL it may lead to wrong data.
How can I make sure that Supertype Primary Key is being inserted as Primary key in sub type table?

Automatic Inspection Lot Creation for HUs (storage Loc.) in WHS

Hi All,
can someone guide me through customizing/with end result expected from client. How can I setup this configuration.
The requirement is all Chem.Raw Materilas are subject to Quality inspection with HU managed storage Loc. with WMS.
Good Receipt is posted Via Vl31n into Quality Stock. Subsequently a Transfer Order will be created & confirmed to transfer of materials from 902 interim storage type to destination storage type and bin. (due to lack of space in the Whse).
Now expected is that when Usage decision made (Quality Managment) the stock type should change from Q to Unresticted within the same bin and same storage type and material should be made available to issue for orders.
Also when GR is done 101 mvt. an inspection lot should generate automatically in Whse under the quant.

Hi Chandra,
Generally WM movement type '309' is assigned for posting change (Sap standard setting). This movement type is generally assigned against 321 IM movement type.
Modify the settings for WM movement type '309' as below:
Path: LE -> WM -> Activities -> Transfers -> Define Movement types
- Automatic TO X (activate)
- Activate 'To item can be confirmed immediately'
- Activate 'propose confirmation'
- Activate 'post to same bin'
This should solve your problem.
On your other question
Generally the inspection lot is assosiated with the WM
stock and Quant if the stock Quality stock is posted to bins directly.
Please display the Quant using LS23 and let me know your findings.

Quality lot creation for operation description

My client requirement is like this
we are creating the production order in that operations are external operations for which automatic purchase requisition is created with respect to the operation description(i.e. without material) using account assignment catagory F. now my requirement is after doing GR quality lot has to be created with respect to Purchase order and we can able to give the usage decision for that lot and post

i think only at material level QM can be activated thru QM view.

Error in transfer order creation for sto type-- bulk storage

Can someone help to solve the following issue, while doing the Transfer order -- " The error is --> Missing definitions for block storage control ( B1 GB 04 ) "
config settings done are
1. in material master, view Wm-2, the LE qty--> 1, un --> to, SUT --> GB
2. in material master, view Wm-1, stock removal strategies > 004 (bulk storage), stk plcmt strategies > 004 (bulk storage) and bulk storage-->04

Inspection lot creation not required for intercompany Stock transfer order

Hi Team,
The client does not want system to create inspection lots for inter comapny STO. But for intra STO system does not create the inspection lot and thye are happy with it.
I have have flagged the indicator "QM not active' for the movement type
101 entry as below at transaction code OMJJ.
101 B(goods movement for Purchase Order) X(Stock Transport Order)
Even after flagging the above indicator, system is still creating the inspection lot at the time of GR for InterCC STO.
Are you aware any other place to control inspection lot creation for Inter company STO.

The ispection types assigned to the material are given below.
Z05 Goods Return Inspection(copy of 05)
Z09 Shelf life extension Inspection(copy of 09)
Z89 Inspection for Quality Assurance(copy of 89)
Z90 Goods Receipt for Trading goods( It is a copy of 01 inspection type)
There is no inspection type 08 active in the material .

Procedural steps of automaic Inspection lot creation.

I would like to create Inspection lot automatically for various inspection types. Where I will customize the number ranges w.r.t specific inspection type (e.g. 01, 04, 05 etc.). Example: -
1. For Inspection Type 01 (GR inspection for incoming materials)- Lot Number is 1000000000.
2. For Inspection type 04 (GR inspection of finished goods)- Inspection lot number 4000000000.
3. For Inspection type 05 (Inspection for other good receipt)- Inspection lot number 5000000000.

If you are using SAP std insp type, then you need to build the following
- Material master with QM view - MM01
-Assign the ispection type 01, 04. 05 in QM view
-Create inspction charectristics - QS21
-Create inspction plan - QP01
The usage of inspection plan should be 5.
Check in the SPRO, is the usage for each insp type is 5 or other. If it is not same then you create insp plan as per teh usage assigned.
SPRO>QM>Quality inspection>Insp lot creation>Maintain insp type.
Once you do it, insp lot will be created duting Production GR/PO GR and other GR.

Inspection Type 10-Single Mat with two Diff Insp Typ with separate Char.

I am using Inps with Mat Specs.
I have single Finished Product having Insp type 4 & 10 attached.
There are 8 char attached to Material out of first 4 should be visible for lot generated for insp type 4 and last 4 should be visible in Result recording screen for newly generated lot after doing Delivery i.e. 10 Insp type.
Is there any setting for the same.

There is no such provision available.You are using material specs then you have to consider 04 & 10 seperatly as there usage is different.
or simply create task list with differnt usage like 1 & 6 with specific char.this will work fine.

Quality lot creation

In production order.. 3 operation are there...generally when production order has done GR ... Inspection lot has created..
but here i want inspection lot created..at the time of 2nd opearation conformed/released...(inspection lot creation automatically at operation level)...is it possible.. any one could guide me .. about this issue..

Hi,
If you are talking about 03 type inspection then it is not generated at the time of GR (3rd operation) but it is generated at the time of Order Release.
Now if you are talking about 04 (Receipt against production order) then in general this type of inspection lot is generated at the time of GR, but if you want to create this inspection lot earlier before Goods Receipt then you have option of early Lot creation.For this go to QM view of Material Master and in Inspcetion type view select Inspection type 04.
And select option Y Early Lot creation at Control Inspection Lot.
This will generates the inspection lot at the time of order release (not at specific Operation) along with 03 inspection lot.
