Inspection lot filtering in QE51N

Hello Friends,
In QE51N, we have selected the char.filter to get the inspection lot for recording the work list.
Here, how the system POPUP the typical inspection lot nos based on the charac., filter?
Which table and fields are involved in this based on which criteria?

QM- HOW TO RELEASE INSPECTION LOT

First things first.
The inspection lot when created takes the default values from the material master setting like whether the inspection is to be triggered.
Once the inspection lot is created and after you change the material master or info records then it will not be refected in the inspection lot.
So important thing is to get the state of quality system when the inspection lot was created to solve the problem.
Go the transaction code [QA02] and see the requirements in the inspection specifications tab whether the Task List/ Specification button is enabled or not. If it is enabled means characteristics are not yet assigned. Press the button. If it dosnt work by pressing, it means no corresponding task list or material characteristic as specified in the materail master - Quality management Screen - Corresponding inspection type values. Even if you make changes now it wont be reflected in the lot. So get the settings at the time of creation of the inspection lot. And create the required task list [QP01] or material specification [QS61]. If already the task list / material specification button in disabled means the characteristics are picked.
Now goto transaction [QE51N] and specify your plant and material and generate the list of open lots
Select your lot and record the characteristics
Not you need to valuate and close each characteristic.
Save the data and come out of the trasaction after all the characteristics are recorded.
Proceed to TCODE QA11
Take a usage decision, save the data and quit the transaction.
Now check whether the lot status is changed or not
Please tell me if it dosnt work

Inspection lot status per operation

Is there an overview in SAP to get the status of an inspection lot per operation (other than QE51N). I've an operation for each laboratory. I'd like to get an overview of the status per operation. If not which tables should i use?

Quality Inspection lots during returns

Hi,
We need to generate inspection lots when there is a inbound delivery done.The neccessary setting's has been done and insp lot is getting created.But when we do PGR within Inbound delivery we get a error as ''Status of inspection lot 600000000000 / partial lot 000000 does not allow good issue''.We need to do PGR and then process the lot.

Please process the inspection lot and make Usage Decision, then you will be able to do PGR.

QM inspection lot issue

hi,
I am learning the QM module and initially i intregate all QM setting (from material creation to inspection plan )and also make an inspection lot mannually, later i know that it generate automatically after good reciept.
but again i do after making PO and Good Reciept then i go to QA11 transection but the inspection lot is not generated yet
Please suggest and guide me how i get it automatically or what i change in previous configuration

Hello Maashish,
The cycle is to GR -> Inspection lot CRTD -> Release the lot if required in QA02 (optional) -> Record the results (QE51N) --> Usage decision (QA11)
Now the lot might have been created but not released because you have not assigned an inspection plant with a task list to inspect the material. So you need to get your master data ready first i.e Master inspection characteristics, Sampling procedure, Sampling scheme, then task list and Inspection plan.
Once this is done and when you do GR the Lot will get created and sample calculated based on the inspection plan assigned. you then follow the cycle I mentioned above.

Inspection Lot Generation

I want to generate inspection lot numbers plant wise while doing goods receipt. Is there any user exit available to do this or can we do this in standard transaction?

Hi,
If you want to view the inspection lots plant wise (eventhough the number range is same) then you can do so by entering the plant number in the initial screen at transaction code QA32 / QA11 / QE51N. These inspection lots are generated / reported / analysed plantwise eventhough the number range is not plantwise.

Transfer vendor COA data in the inspection lot

Hi All,
When the goods receipt purchase order (transaction MIGO) is saved inspection lot is created. In the MIGO we have designed custom screen which has inspection characteristics (fields QAMKR-KURZTEXT, TOLGRENZE, SOLLSTPUMF, QERGDATH).
Now using the inspection lot number created I have to transfer vendor COA data in the inspection lot (which have to be shown in QE01/ QE11/ QE51N).
Please let me know FM or BAPI to do this (should update all fields mentioned above).

Hi Sandra,
Iam not sure about the option to change the Vendor Batch but i can Suggest the other option. i.e Cancellation of GR and creating the new one.
1. First remove the 01 inspection type in Quality Management tab in Material master,
2. Go to goods receipt in MIGo and put 102 movement type and do the reversal.
Now the stock is in the order level. and you can do the GR again.
Activate the QM tab before doing the 2nd GR.
revert back for clarifications if any.

BAPI_INSPOPER_RECORDRESULTS:result does not appear in inspection lot...

I am using BAPI_INSPOPER_RECORDRESULTS to record inspection lot result at characteristic level.
When I use this BAPI, it does not give me an error.
But the values against each characteristic does not appear in the result field of that characteristic.These are not getting updated. system status shows INSP RREC.
I am passing the result value as "mean-value" field in bapi charresult table..
what is the solution for this?
I am trying BDC for the same purpose in tcode QE51N. but in between there is error msg promp..so BDC is not working after that promp as it is asking for user entry for the mandetory field "Engineer's name"..
Kindly provide the solution..

QM and Inspection Lot

Hello Gurus,
I am doing a QM setting. I need to create a few characteristics to test when an Inspection lot is created after a GR, I need to make a Usage decision (UD).
I am able to maintain QM views and make GR which is giving me inspection-lot no. I am perfect till there.
But I would want to see the inspection characteristics for that inspection lot and record values for the characteristic and be able to make a UD.
Can someone tell me what I am missing in master data maintenanc.

Hi Shankar,
You are missing Inspection plan. To created inspection plan follow the steps,
- Run trx QP01. Enter Material & Plant.
- Enter the Header Details, (Note: in the header details there is a filed "Inspection Points" if you are not going with the typical sampling calculations then simply enter "FREE Inspection Point")
- Then In the "Operation Overview screen", assign the QM Work Center, name the operation logically.
- Select the Operation line item and click on the Characteristic Overview screen. Here you need to assign all the desired characteristic you wish to record result for.
- Save
Now
- Run trx QA02, enter the Inspection lot number.
- In the Inspection specification screen, Assign the Task list (Inspection plan, we just have created).
- Save
- The status of the Lot must become "REL", if the lot status will not be REL, it wont allow to perform RR or UD
- Then perform RR (Trx QE51n, QA32 etc) and UD trx QA11

E.g. In RR screen Goto>Change unit to be insp.>All four function for this node are not available. Can any one make me clear why it's so this and what should I do to to use/activate it.
I have came across this functionality because of an online query.
In one in process inspection lot the user has rectified the pH limit was wrong and I had and extreme urgent requirement to correct it.
I have suggested them to use unplanned MIC in place of this wrong MIC and force close the wrong one or reverse the entire process.

Yes, I believe flexible specs came into play with 5.0? Not sure.
You'll have to read the help on implementing them as I haven't had that opportunity on an implementation. Just in playing in a sandbox and training.
I can give you some info. Flexible specs were developed for the stability functionality. Basically, you create a universal plan with all the inspection characteristics on it. When you create the lot, you can select any characterisitics from this plan and add them to your lot. You can then modify the tolerances and certain other settings for each characteristic.
To implement this outside of the stability functionality there are a couple of BAPi's you have to implement. (I don't know them off the top of my head).
This is not a process that you want to use as a standard business process for day-to-day testing. It's best application I think is for doing things like testing competitive samples, or pilot plant testing, maybe customer technical investigations. The one off stuff.

Accepting the inspection lot partially

i want to know how to accept part of an inspection lot and reject the rest of the quantity. for example: the inspection lot contains 10 nos of a material and i want to accept 6 nos and reject the balance 4 nos. how can ti be done?

Hi,
After result recording in QE51N , the Usage Decision will be carriedout in QA11.
In QA11 click on inspection lot stock , there you will find Unrestricted use, Scrap, blocked stock, etc...
You can post the quantity as you like to the respective stock type
