Inspection lot measure unit

Hello,
I am straggling to find out where  from the maintenance inspection lot (source 14) takes the "measure unit" to the inspection lot quantities tab?.
I find that "The system always selects the base unit of measure from the material master as the unit of measure for the inspection lot quantity"
But I works with inspection lot type 14 based on function location
Our BW  team says that those units make them a lot of trouble
Best regards
eyal

Hi,
As per SAP help, system creates lot for maintenance order and for each piece of equipment.
My understanding is ,system  always  takes measurement unit in Inspection lot as PC for Inspection type 14
How ever for materials  i.e ROH , HALB, FERT with inspection types 01,03,04,08 etc etc  it takes from the material master as you mentioned.

Nitin

  • Inspection Lot  quantity unit is changing to Basic UOM.

    Dear All,
In material master, material unit is in MTR(M),for that material i created Production order in NOS
I am confirming that order (TCODE -CO11N) in nos only ,up to last stage of confirmation it is in NOS only
but after confirmation the lot is generating in qa32 that lot quantity unit is basic unit of measure i.e MTR(M).
But i want that lot in confirmation unit i.e 'NOS' .
So,please suggest me to solve this problem.
Is there is any user exit to overcome on this problem.??
    Regards,
    Sanket.

    Hi,
the UOM of QA32(inspection lot) is always similar to the UOM of MM03(material master).

  • Creation of Inspection lot in Alternative Unit of measure

    Dear Guru,
Our implementation is going on in a Tube manufacturing company where Base Unit is maintain  in KG & 100 % visual inspection is taken place & we accept or reject tube on Pieces. So how can we do this in SAP, Because in SAP Inspection Lot is created on Base Unit & UD (Stock Movement) also in base unit, How can we in corporate Alternative Unit of measure.

    Hi,
          1. give unit of conversion in MM basic data (Unit of measurement) say 1 kg = 10 pieces
           2. add unit of issue as a Pieces in MM QM view
            3. add in inspection paln Unit of measure as Pieces ( if possible )
Now during stock posting  post the stock KG  and now see in stock MMBE by changing the UOm as a pieces you will get the stock in pieces and you can now issue the material in pieces too.
Experts pl guide if i am wrong anywhere

  • Inspection lot sample size is always = 1

All, I have an scenario I've seen in here but with no correct answer.
    Here is the case:
    (1) material has Buom = LK (link), production uom = M, unit of issue = M
    (2) the Unit of Measure table in the additional Data area is :
    1 LK LINK <=> 1 LK LINK
    3,048 M m <=> 80,000 LK LINK
    1 BOX Box <=> 80 LK LINK
    (3) There is no sample procedure for this mfg item in the routing, so the production order qty should be the inspection lot sample size
    (4) In the QM view of the material master, Buom is LK, Unit of issue = M, and the manual sample entries are not set
    (5) For every production order released, the inspection lots for this material have a sample size of 1 M.  It doesn't matter how big or small the production order qty is, sample size is always 1 M.
All other materials with uom the same in all areas, have the correct sample size equal to the production order qty.
I'm assuming this has to do with uom conversion but I can't find where the problem is.
    (6)  in Cuni, LK is in the AAAADL (no dimensions) option with Numerator and denominator = 1;  M is in the Length option with the same numerator and denominator = 1
Please any help on this will be great.
    Thanks and Regards...

    Hello Aida,
Yes, This post is open for all .
Anyways, Please refer SAP Note 213505  - Sample size 1 for 100% inspection
I think, this note explains reason and solution for your query.

  • Inspection Lot  in ECM

    Dear All
My client is running the business in SAP with ECM.ECM is active for material master,BOM,routing and inspection plan and for external procurement we are processing with scheduling agreement,So when ER&D is releasing the part number with revision level 1 we are uploading in material master,BOM,Routing and inspection plan with revision level one, same thing is updating in scheduling agreement and we are creating the schedule lines manually or through MRP with reference to the schedule agreement whenever we are taking the GR with reference to the schedule lines inspection lot is creating with release status with revision level one. After some time ER&D is releasing revision level 2 for the same material due to some tech.problem after that we r uploading in inspection plan,BOM with revision level 2.So,now we are taking the GR means inspection lot is creating with created status for revision level 2 because in sch.agreement we not changing the revision level. So,system is creating the inspection lot with reference to sch.Agreement revision level. Please suggest me any manual triggering or automatic option is available to affect revision level in SCH.agreement

    Dear,
Inspection lot will be created in Base unit of measure measurement only.
In material master you will get the Base Unit of Measure Unit of issue in quality view.
Then use BADI QEVA_ALT_QTY_INPUT Method PROCESS_QUANTITY
    method IF_EX_QEVA_ALT_QTY_INPUT~PROCESS_QUANTITY .
          CALL FUNCTION 'QEVA_ENTER_QUANT_IN_ALT_UNIT'
            EXPORTING

              I_QTY_NO = i_qty_no
            IMPORTING
              E_VMENGE = e_vmenge
        endmethod.
Implement method MODIFY_SCREEN with the following source code:
        method IF_EX_QEVA_ALT_QTY_INPUT~MODIFY_SCREEN .
          CALL FUNCTION 'QEVA_ALT_QTY_MODIFY_SCREEN'
            EXPORTING
              I_MATNR = i_qals-matnr
            IMPORTING
              E_UNITS_EXIST = e_value_help

  • Inspection lot calculation

    Hi,
    How is lot size calculated?
I had made PO of 10 units.Unit of measure is each.Inspection type 01 active so inspection lot was created but the lot size was 1.66.
How is it possible to have lot size in decimal when unit of measure is "each"
from where was lot size calculated?

    Dear Shreya
please check the GR Document again. It is not mandatory that EA will accept whole numbers only, EA will accept even decimals also. I have experienced this issue. Also make sure that there is no conversion factor maintained
Neways if i get the solution on this i will revert back. If you get the solution please do post .

    I have a requirement that i need to write an interface program which will receive a file from external agency (manufacturer) and process goods receipt until inspection results. The following steps need to be taken care of;
    1) Create a equipment (Utilities - It is an unique identifier for each unit of the material).
    2) Do Goods Receipt for the PO with the equipment numbers created.
    3) Create Inspection Lot for the material document created during the GR for each equipment number.

  • 04 inspection lot with status SPST

    Dear Experts,
We are using Handling Unit (HU) functionality in FG material,
    1. We create HU's (say 50 HU's) using tcode COWBPACK,
    2. On creation of HU, an inspection lot of type 04 is created for 50 HU's.
    3. In regular scenario, we do GR of all 50 HU's using tcode COWBPACK,
    4. All 50 HU's are posted in to unrestricted & UD is given using tcode QA32 & status UD SPCO.... is updated in inspection lot,
    5. The HU posting in unrestricted can be happen before GR also (which observes no problem),
But in rare scenario, we need to cancel / delete the some of HU's at that time following steps are involved -
    1. We create HU's (say 50 HU's) using tcode COWBPACK,
    2. On creation of HU, an inspection lot of type 04 is created for 50 HU's.
    3. HU posting in unrestricted is done for 45 HU's (System status SPST is updated in inspection lot),
    4. Balance 5 HU's are deleted from system using tcode HUMO,
    5. UD is given to inspection lot & status UD SPST.... is updated in inspection lot.
Now the problem is, after settlement & variance calculation of production order when we try to update status CLSD (Close) in production order the system give an error "Inspection lot 040000XXXXXX for order XXXXXXXX has not yet been completed" this is due to system status SPST is there instead of SPCO.
As the 5 HU's are deleted hence the stock posting can not be completed. Even we can not cancel the inspection lot due to status SPST.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue to update the status CLSD in prodction order.
    Thanks in advance,
    Leena.

  • Inspection Lot on Production Orders using HU

    Hi Experts:
I'm trying to notify using production orders some HU. I was reading the help.sap.com and it says:
    1. An inspection lot is never created, if the indicator Inspection for HU is not set in the Inspection setup of the material master (Quality Management view) for storage locations requiring HUs.
    2. In general, it is not possible to create the inspection lot at goods receipt in storage locations requiring HUs.
    That's confuse me.
In the system I have the following information:
    a. Create my order and release.
    b. My material have inspection 04. I marked the indicator Inspection for HU on Quality Management view.
    c. I used Tx COP1 to create my HU
    d. I notify my production using COWBHUWE
If I checked my MMBE the quantity is on Quality Status. But I don't have my inspection Lot.
I create my Inspection plan with indicator 5.
Someboday can tell me why the inspection lot isn't create?
    I checked the configuration:
In Customizing for Handling Unit Management (Inventory Management), the respective movement type is not deactivated for quality inspections. The indicator QM not active is not set.
In the (respective) material master record, the corresponding inspection type is created and activated for the respective goods movement, and the indicator Inspection for HU must be set.
    Thxks

Sorry firefighter I'm going to explain more in detail.
    1. I tested my integration process QM-PP-HU on a Storage Location without HU.
    The results were:
    a. Hu created
    b. Inspection Lot Created
But when I did the DE the units from the HU were moved, but the HU still in Q status.
    So I changed my test.
    2. I tested my integration process QM-PP-HU on a Storage Location with HU
    The results were:
    a. Hu created
    b. Inspection Lot Not Created
In this case, I marked on Material Master the HU Indicador on 04 Class (Quality Management View)
    That's my problem.
Addittional I tested a MM-HU process using 01 Inspection Class.
    1. I create a Purchase Order Me21N to a Storage Location with HU
    2. I create the Delivery using HU
    3. The system create the Inspection Lot and made the DE (reference to the HU)
My problem is stilling the PP-QM-Hu on Storage Location with HU

  • Inspection lot In created state

    Hello,
I am using the Inspection type 10 and the corresponding inspection plan of usage 6 is also maintained. I had 2 questions regarding the same:
    1.  Upon delivery creation an inspection lot is also created. But the lot is in created state and as a result result recording and UD is not possible. Am not able to figure out why,
    2. Here they want to use Handling unit management(cartons) whenever stock transfer takes place from 1 store to the other. How can we trigger quality when this transfer takes place. What would be the settings required for this?
Any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Aji

    1. Upon delivery creation an inspection lot is also created. But the lot is in created state and as a result result recording and UD is not possible. Am not able to figure out why,?
    check following things:
1.Date of creation of task list must be prior to that of creation of Inspection lot date.
2.Usage in customization of inpection type & in Task list must be same.
    3.Task list must be released.
now go to QA02>click on "Inspection specification>then on sample & save.
    2. Here they want to use Handling unit management(cartons) whenever stock transfer takes place from 1 store to the other. How can we trigger quality when this transfer takes place. What would be the settings required for this?
This depends upon the T code & process that you use for stock transfer.Generally its 08 inspection type that is used.

  • Inspection lot number ranges skipping

My inspection lot number ranges are skipping, those are std number ranges like 01 origin, 04 origin etc, what could be the reason for that.
Inspn lots are getting generated and I took UD also. But certain numbers in the range got skipped.
Eg:- Incoming inspn lot 010000000041 then it comes 010000000045
Lot numbers 01/42, 01/43, 01/44 does not exist in sytem.

    Craig,
But expert suggestion says, not to switch off buffer thru SNRO as it may affect fuctionality as you said early in this discussion.
But I believe, this is to be relooked by SAP as number range skipping is not good (My case its skipping 5-7 numbers at a time). But I am not convinced with the reply from SAP also.
Anyway thanks to you craig for your advice.
SAP Note on this matter for reference of all. Thanks

    Summary
    Symptom
Gaps (jumps) occur when allocating internal numbers.
The status of the number range interval does not match the number that was last assigned.
The number assignment does not reflect the insert sequence.

    Reason and Prerequisites
A large number of number range objects are buffered. When the system buffers a number range object, it does not update numbers individually in the database but reserves a preset group of numbers (depending on the number range object) in the database the first time a number is requested, and makes these numbers available to the application server in question. The following numbers can then be taken directly from the application server buffer. New numbers are not used in the database until the application server buffer has been used up.
The effects described under "Symptom" are a direct consequence of this:
If an application server is shut down, the numbers that are left in the buffer (that is, that are not yet assigned) are lost. As a result, there are gaps in the number assignment.
The status of the number range interval reflects the next free number that has not yet been transferred to an application server for intermediate buffering. The current number level therefore does not display the number of the "next" object.
The current number level (for each server) can be displayed using Transaction SM56. Call transaction SM56 and choose the menu 'Goto' -> 'Entries'. In the dialog box, enter the client, the affected number range object (for example, RK_BELEG) and possibly the required subobject (corresponds to the controlling area for the object RK_BELEG).
If you use several application servers, the numerical sequence will not reflect the (chronological) insert sequence because the numbers are buffered separately on the individual hosts.
Buffering the number range objects has a positive effect on performance, because the system no longer has to access the database (number range table NRIV) for each posting. Furthermore, a serialization of this table (database locking) is prevented to a large extent so that posting procedures can be carried out in parallel.
    Solution
Since number range buffering does not cause any expressly assured qualities to be lost, no correction is required.
If you still require continuous allocation, you can deactivate the number range buffering specifically for individual objects.
    Proceed as follows:
    - Start Transaction SNRO and enter the affected object.
    - Choose 'Change'.
    - Deactivate buffering: Choose 'Edit' -> 'Set Up Buffering' -> 'No Buffering'.
    - If you want to change the buffer size only, enter the corresponding value in the field 'No. of numbers in buffer'.
    - Save the changes.
Please note that this change is a modification. The modification is overwritten as soon as the affected number range object is redelivered - in other words, you must check the change manually each time you import a release.
In particular, read Note 678501, bearing in mind that changing the buffering type - if not explicitly recommended by SAP - constitutes a modification. For other possible solutions, refer to the following notes:
    179224, 599157 and 840901.
For the the following number range objects, gaps may cause users to have doubts since they are 'expecting' a sequential numbering:
    Area CO:
    - RK_BELEG   (CO Document)
CAUTION: Note that the problems described in Notes 20965 and 29030 may occur if you deactivate buffering.
    - COPA_IST (Document number in actual posting)
    - COPA_PLAN  (Document number in planned posting)
    - COPA_OBJ   (Profitability segment number)
    Area FI:

Number range buffering can be activated or deactivated at any time.
Number range objects that have to be continuous due to legal specifications (for example, RF_BELEG, RV_BELEG), or due to a corresponding application logic must not be buffered using the buffering type 'Main memory buffering'. See also Notes 37844 (for RF_BELEG) and 23835 (for RV_BELEG).

  • Raw material issue for inspection from inspection lot

    Hello friends,
My sample size is fixed i.e.75 gm for all  raw material quality testing. I have defined sampling procedure with sampling type "fixed sample". I want that this amount should be decreased from total lot quantity when i am posting it to unrestricted use. i.e. for 10 kg inspection lot quantity, 9.925 kg quantity should be posted .Now, system propose whole quantity for stock transfer from quality to unrestricted after usage decision.
    Waiting for reply!
    Thanks in advance!!

    Dear Kiran
    1)  System doesnot take decimal in samples. if your basic unit is KG and you procure 10kg material system will consider sample amount as 1 kg. it will not take 0.075kg as the sample.
    2) Other option is make the procurement in GMs but that  will be difficult for purchaser to handle
    3) or esle make use of this exit and do the posting based on that

  • QM with HUM- HU linked inspection lots

    Dear All,
Here is the issue I am facing.
I am using QM with WM and HUM. My handling unit has multiple batches. Thus, system creates as many inspection lots as there are batches.
    My questions are:
    1) Is it possible to create one inspection lot for one handling unit? I think not.
    2) Is it possible to record results for all HU linked inspection lots in one screen?
    3) Is it possible to make a usage decision for complete HU with all linked inspection lots in one screen?

    Hi,
Not possible to do result recording based on HU, but you can check with QE72 for result recording and UD for all inspection lots at a stretch.

  • Enhancement-One inspection lot for early lot and serial profile

    Hi,
I have a requirement shown below.
Can anyone guide me to proceed this Enhancement from the start?
Inspection lot for production order is created at production order release, when the finished good has a serialnumber profile assigned in the materials master and the serialnumbers are captured in the handling unit assigned to the production order, the system will create another inspection lot.
    <i>Required system enhancement:</i>
Only 1 inspection lot per production order should be generated.
<b>NB.</b> Without this enhancement both inspection lots created for the production order have to be closed to be able to close the production order.

Please try with sub-routine: userexit_move_field_to_lips or userexit_save_document of include: MV50AFZ1.
I guess clearing LIPS-QPLOS for specific conditions would do the trick for you..

  • Regarding inspection lot

    Hi PP & QM gurus,
In HU enabled scenerion i am working on sales return process. For that i have created HU store location and NonHU store location. In material master i have activated inspection type 05 for return delivery and didnt activated tick for the HU inspections. At the time of PGR if i post the material in the nonHU location then material goes in the non HU store location and creates a inspection lot for returns.
In other scenerionn if i want to post the materia lin HU store location then i activated the indicator for the HU Inspection. But if i do that system posts material in quality but it doesnt create any inspection lot for the same .
I want to post the mateial in quality HU location with an inspection lot. Can anybody tell me how can i do this .
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
In this case it would be important to know if you pack the HUs in the process. The HU inspection lot is only created during the packing of handling units.
If this not the case you could check if the exit QAAT0001 with the function module EXIT_SAPLQMHU_001 is processed.
Maybe this information helps resolve the issue.
