Inspection Lot release manual.

Hi Gurus,
Can anyone tell me, how to release inspection lot manually as in actual its getting released automatically as i want to release the same at user level decision & can it be possible at material type level. means for raw material it should be automatic but for FG it should be automatic release.

As per my understanding you want to release the lot of the finished good manually and for the raw material automatically .........Am I right ?
In that case in the material master in QM view under the inspection setup for the particular inspection type un-check the check box automatic assignment..
Now you have to release the inspection lot manually......by assigning the tasklist and/or material specification in QA02....
Do let me know if you face any problem regarding this.......

Hi
It seems there is inspection plan created for this material. You can create inspection in QP01 transaction and maintain usage 5 (Goods Receipt) and status 4 (released) in the header inspection plan.
Once plan is created, go to QA02 (Change inspection plan) and enter inspection lot. Click on inspection specification tab, change key date to current date and click on task list/spec. button, Then plan will get assign to inspection lot. Save the inspection lot. Once again if you go to QA03 (Inspection lot display), you can find system status is chnged tp CRTD to REL.
Then you can able to enter results recording and usage decision for the lot.

Inspection lot release

After the goods receipt the system has created inspection lot with status CRTD CHCR SPRQ,now we want to post this stovk to unrestricted.
Waht is the procedure to post quantity to unrestricted ,how to make usuage decision.

since there is no inspection plan for the material ,your inspection lot is not released,kindly create a inspection plan in QP01 ,with date previous then goods receipt ,then go in the inspection lot in change mode (QA02) press the inspection plan in the inspection characterisic tab and press the sample in the sample tab
then you can do the result recording and usage decision in QA32

QM - Inspection lot release without inspection characteristic

Hi experts, have initially created an inspection plan without inspection characteristics and a few lots have been Goods Receipt and inspection lot created. However due to no sample size is being defined at the inspection characteristics level, system is currently expecting:
Insp lot quantity: 5
Actual quantity: 5
Sample size: 0
Now that the inspection characteristics had been added into the inspection plan. Is there anyway to update the inspection lot to reflect the latest change and allow processing? Or do you have any better recommendation besides reversing GR?

1) Go to QA02, input the lot number
2) Menu > INspection lot > Reset Sample
3) Enter & Save
4) QA02
5) Inspection specification > Assign task list by click on Task/ specification
6) Go to Sample, do the SAmple calculation
7) Save

Hi,
Actually it is not useful in manual inspection lot because manual inspection lot used to check your quality of material at any movement.
Means for example your raw material is in store department but some time you suspect something about quality & you take decision to check quality of material that time it can be used. So in this case result record is mandatary,
Because your intention to create lot to checked material so not use ful without specification .
Also not any posting happening through this lot.just to check the material at any instance.
For any further clarification revert me back.
Some time client want to create lot but do not want to take results for that just they are interested in giving
UD & stock posting in that case you can remove tick task list required .This requirement mostly demanded for certain Engg items they do not want go material directly to unrestricted. it will go through UD.
But manual inspection lot I do not think it much useful.

Hi Gurus.
I want to enter inspection lot number manually in Delivery at item level in Processing Tab manually.
currently its coming grey out so unable to enter inspection lot number in VL01N.
if i assign Inspection lot origin Z10 to Delivery type LF in SPRO-> Inspection at Shipping & do required changes in Z10.
Will that work???

As per my knowledge ,when you do picking the Inspection lot automatically gets generate in the background.That is a reason it is Gray.Second thing is that this lot if you will open you will find the reference of the sales order,of which you are doing the delivery.
So how can you enter it manually.
You can not give reference of another lot.Not possible by any ways.

In inspection lot..task list does not fetch

when i do UD for fish material. with QA32....in QA32 showing inspection lot no..but when i select line item of inspection lot and click on inspection lot..one window open..when i go inspection specification for task list..when i click on task list....show the massage....
but i all ready created inspection plan from QP01...i have over ther MIC and sampling procedure also

Dear,
Is this quality Plan is back dated and Lot size should be 1 to 9999,999.
Why are you creating rate routing? check lot for 04 insp type in QA02.
Or for old material just create one new order and test it once again.
You can check the statuses in config.
QM>Quality Planning>Inspection Planning>General>Define Task List Status.
You should find that "4" is in there with all the check marks on.
QM--> Quality Inspection --> Inspection Lot Creation --> Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types.
There is a column called status. For each inspection ORIGIN, you can specify the status of the inspection plan. It appears someone in your system changed the 4's to an X and then created the status "X".

Inspection Lot for Material Group (without Material Code)

Hello,
We need to create Inspection Lots (either manually or automatically while Goods Receipt) without particular material reference. Scenario is that Vendors send the materials (as text, through some material group) and we need to inspect these materials.
How is this possible?

I hope you can also proceed in the following way:
When a sample is received, create Notification and thru the Action Box Item you can create an Inspection Lot without Material Number as we normally do in case of Stability Studies...Please explore this option as well.

If you want another T code only then you can try QA01A.
or you can create a Physical Sample with QPR1 and then click on the button there to create inspection lot. To create inspection lot for that Physical sample (you will able to see that button only after releasing the sample) Or you can use QPR5.
But let me know the reason why you want T code other than QA01.

Key date is same. I have checked for it.
What i am saying is , i have manually updated inspection lot status to release state by applying user status. And after that i am trying to assign inspection task list to the inspection lot.But i am unable to do so.
Can i do this ? Please help

Release of inspection lot

Dear Gurus,
I have a customer issue, I need to approve the time of the sample arrival to the lap, without using sample management.
Is there a way to apply a release for the inspection lot, where I can enter the receiving time and date.

In QA02 you'll find the key field on the specifications tab I believe. That is what it is called. The key field is used by the lot to search for a valid inspection plan. If the lot is in CRTD mode, you can change this. It is usually the same as the creation date of the lot.
When you get the sample, go in to QA02 and change the key date to the date the sample arrived.
Time is more of a problem. If you manually created the lot as suggest above the creation date and time could serve as the sample arrival date and time as suggest above. But that has some drawbacks. For one you can't edit the time. So the lot has to be created as soon as the sample arrives to properly reflect the date/time. Two, manually created lots don't always link to the same documents that an automatically created one does and of course manually created ones are not stock relevant.
To the best of my knowledge, the only place I can think of where you can modify, or record an actual time, would be in an inspection point identifer. I would encourage you to look at this functionality.

Source inspection lot after PO release

This is regarding source inspection, i think in standard sap, source inspection lot can be trigger as soon as P.O. is created.
But in our scenario, every P.O. will be released by Purchase manager and sometimes he may not release.
My requirement is like inspection lot should trigger only when P.O. is releases.
Is this possible please advice.

The creation of the source inspection lots are based on the expected delivery date. They are not created when the PO is created or released.
See this SAP help for manually creating the source inspection. This same program is usually set up in most clients to run as a batch job on a regular basis. The parameters given the program determine how far in advance the source inspection lots are created. (QI07, QA51,QA52) QM>Quality Inspection>Worklist>Inspection Lot Creation>Source inspection

You may need to create several variants for the batch job and run multiple steps to the job. This allows you to set up certain materials and/or vendors with different opening periods and delivery dates dependent on the specific material.
It sounds like whom ever set your batch job up for this set the job up with very wide open parameters so virtually every PO created gets the source inspection lot created almost right away. You might improve your problem by just adjusting the parameters used in the batch job.
It would also probably not be hard to copy this program and have a programmer modifiy it so that only PO's with a release status are considered.
Of course it would probably be better to train the purchasing agents/manager to actually delete the PO's in a timely fashion when they don't intend to use them. It would keep the system cleaner and help out MRP.

Inspection lot quantity in manual inspection lot (T.Code-QA01)

Dear Experts,
I have activated inspection setup "89" with lot origin '89".I have activated this inspection set up to a material in QM view.
When i want to create a manual inspection lot through T.Code QA01, the inspection lot quantity is a required field. But i do not want to enter a quantity here. I want to create manual inspection lot without quantity. Is it possible?
If yes, please suggest how to proceed.

    inconsistencies in inventory management. For example, if you change the
    quantity fields.
Logic:
Logic will be when you are using a specific Material say MATNR : xyz .......then disable the Qty field LOSMENGE.

Manual creation of inspection lot

on october 1st i received the material (QM is activated for this Material) 2000 qty from the vendor 100011
system automatically created Inspection lot 2000 qty......in that i i have posted only 1000
now in MMBE i am seeing 1000 in QI stock now today i have to move the stock from QI to unrestricted.....
Manually i created inpection lot using QA01 for the Remaining 1000 qty......after that i am clueless how to proceed with pls guide me.............with the following steps.......

Creating Manual inspection lot for the remaining 1000 qty will not prompt for the stock posting. Here u can only record the results for the same.
For the balance stock posting, u need to go to the same inspection lot( old one which was created for the 2000 qty against GR). To search for this lot, in QA32,
select the radio button " select all inspection lots"
Provide the date range. if u are not sure about the dates, keep blank
provide material, batch etc.
Now after execution, check the inspection lots for the status SPRQ or SPST
Select the insp lot & click on Usage Decision. Post the balance stock to unrestricted.
