Inspection lot size

Dear all,
I am using in process inspection for that i have set inspection type 3 in material master. An inspection lot is created of the whole order quantity but in one shift only a part of oder quantity is confirmed then
in QA 32
How to enter the result for a partial quantity of oder.
Please help
S J

Dear SJ,
In process inspection lot get created only when u release the order and this is for full order qty. u can do only once result recordig to 03 inspection type. This is not with respect to the confirmed qty and here no stock posting option. Inprocess resultas can be entered at the time of production usually at the end of the order process
If u want inspection respect to the qty confirmed activate 04 inspection type for you scenario.so according to shiftwise GR, it creates one lot and you can do the result recording and stock posting

    Dear Experts,
We have got the following requirement for inspecting the materials with the serial number profile.
An inspection lot to be generated for the material with sample size 100 % . For each material serial number will be created and displayed in during results recording.
Suppose if the inspection lot size is 10 and serial number for these materials are S1 , S2 , S3 ...  , S10
The inpsection plan have 2 characteristics Hardness and surface texture. Only materials which are accepted for the first MIC hardness should be displayed in results recording for second characteristics.
S1, S2 , S3 ....S8  accepted and S9 and S10 are rejected and to be posted to blocked stock .
During results recording for Surface texture only materials S1 , S2...........S8 to be displayed .
Is it possible to map the above scenario in SAP ? Please guide me.

  • Inspection lot sample size is always = 1

All, I have an scenario I've seen in here but with no correct answer.
    Here is the case:
    (1) material has Buom = LK (link), production uom = M, unit of issue = M
    (2) the Unit of Measure table in the additional Data area is :
    1 LK LINK <=> 1 LK LINK
    3,048 M m <=> 80,000 LK LINK
    1 BOX Box <=> 80 LK LINK
    (3) There is no sample procedure for this mfg item in the routing, so the production order qty should be the inspection lot sample size
    (4) In the QM view of the material master, Buom is LK, Unit of issue = M, and the manual sample entries are not set
    (5) For every production order released, the inspection lots for this material have a sample size of 1 M.  It doesn't matter how big or small the production order qty is, sample size is always 1 M.
All other materials with uom the same in all areas, have the correct sample size equal to the production order qty.
I'm assuming this has to do with uom conversion but I can't find where the problem is.
    (6)  in Cuni, LK is in the AAAADL (no dimensions) option with Numerator and denominator = 1;  M is in the Length option with the same numerator and denominator = 1
Please any help on this will be great.
    Thanks and Regards...

  • Inspection lot of fixed size

I have a query. when i create a po for 1000 items, i need to make a setting in the inspection lot (default=250 nos). Now when i do GR for 100 no's , system should not accept 100 nos qty, it should accept only 250 nos. what settings need to be done.
    pls help

    Hi,
I hope you can manage the same with the help of material master. You can set the same with the fields like lot size, minimum lot size, maximum lot size eand fixed lot size available in the view "MRP1" of material master.

  • Sample size does'not appear in QA02 of created Inspection lot Number.

    Hi Experts,
I have created a production order of a material and its Inspection lot is automatically created but the inspection lot created does'not have sample size from the stock as a result I am unable to perform result recording of a inspection lot.
Please correct me if i am wrong.
    Thanks
    Saurabh

    Dear Saurabh Mishra.
    Kumar & Barjatya's said is right. and more you can consider for solve this problem as below step;
    - You must change the sampling procedure in the inspection plan. After you have reset the sample
      in QAC3
        1. First you must change the sampling procedure to fixed sample (assuming  you have 100%
inspection at present) in QDV2 or
create a new sampling procedure (as Naik remarked) with fixed sample in QDV1
        2. Then assign the changed sampling procedure in the inspection plan through QP02
        3. Then assign a sample quantity in the inspection plan in the same transaction (QP02) for the
            inspection characteristic to be inspected
        4. Save the inspection plan, and run QA02 where you re-assign the updated inspection plan and
           re-do sample calculation.
For GR based lot i have already stated what has to be done. In case of an inspection lot caused
due to the GR from a process or purchase order, cancel the GR. The inspection lot is also
cancelled. Then follow steps 1 to 3. In the 4th step after saving the inspection plan, simply do the
GR again, It should work out.

  • Sample Size calculation for a Inspection Lot

    Dear SAP Gurus,
I have one doubt regarding Sample calculation for Inspection lot. Please give your inputs on this.
The sceanrio is like this -
    1. A Quality Plan is created with one operation (operation # 0010)
    2. To this operation 0010 in the quality plan, 2 MICs are assigned.
    3. For the 1st MIC, a 100 % inspection sampling procedure is assigned.
    4. For the 1st MIC, a sampling procedure with Percentage sample (Sampling type - 400) is assigned.
My question is - When inspection lot is created after GR from purchase order, which sampling procedure will be used to calculate the Sample size that we see in QA03 under Sample tab?
    Regards,
    Nitin

    Thanks Sujit!
Your are correct. It works in the same way as u told.
Assigned you the points for the answer.

  • Sample size '0' in inspection lot

    Hi,
While we are trying to determine the sample size of the inspection lot, we use dynamic modification rules. We have been created a sampling procedure with use of sampling scheme and we assign the sampling procedure to a dynamic modification rule. Also in the characteristic level of a quality plan we have defined the sampling procedure. However, the system does not calculate the sample size in the inspection lot. We see the sample size in the characteristic level, but in the inspection lot (QA03) the system does not calculate the sample size. We see '0' as a result.
    Thanks&Regards,
    Begü

    Hi
As per my understanding you have used sampling Procedure & Dynamic modification rule at char Level.
Here You might have applied the DMrule at the Header of Task list.
Now when you apply DMR at char level at header then it will skip all char in the task list.
your lot is skipped .so sample size becoems zero & char statuses will be 4:skipped.
    This is how sap is.
    Regards

  • Inspection Characteristic is not being displayed in the inspection lot

I have created a Calibration order by first creating method, then a MIC, same is attached to a task list and then a Plan.
But when i trigger a order for that task list the inspection characteristics as mentioned in the task list does not appear in the order.
Please let me know how to get the inspection characteristics in the order.
I have checked the task list, in that the Inspection characteristics is visible.
    Please help
    Praneet

I have noted one thing, in inspection lot the sample size is shown as zero for the equipment where the inspection characteristic is not being displayed and it is shown as one for the lot where the inspection characteristic is displayed.
Both the Inspection lot the task list is same

  • How partial inspection is done for a inspection lot & vendor payment done based on inspection result

    Dear Gurus,
In our business 1000 bag material is received in one material document. So one Inspection lot is created.
Now business take randomly 10 bags from that 1000 bag & inspected. The Bags are inspected on various parameters such as Weight , Fabric , Valve Size , Cross Sec Area, Print Quality , Stitching Thread , etc . The values for all this types of parameters are prepared in an excel sheet in a prescribed format.
The Values for each Quality Parameters are then matched with the desired prescribed average figures.
Based on the Values which deviate from "Average" figures , deductions are computed
Logic is 1% for single defect in a bag for 1 parameter . Likewise if more defects is found then add 1% in multiples
    e.g 1% + 5 defects then .05 * basic Raw material cost .
This figure along with proper description is recorded under "Remarks" column of the report format and send to Accounts department for the
      deduction process from Vendor
we need to capture the inspection parameters in system as per the above process.
And please tell me how I configure this process in SAP .
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bubai

    Hi Bubai,
you can create a QM Control Key (which is used to QM View of Material Master) which you have to set the indicator Block Invoice. This indicator is blocked invoice with blocking reason I (I = Inspection) if there is still no usage decision for the inspection lot or the inspection lot is reject.
(SPRO -> Quality Management -> QM in Logistics -> QM in Procurement -> Define Control Keys).

  • Unable to clear Inspection Lot

    Dear Sirs,
    I have a material with Inspection Type - 0101
The inspection lot of this material has the following status -CRTD,PREQ,CHCR,SPRQ,IRCH
    Unable to clear inspection lot
in qa02 - insp specications tab -- while using Tasklist / Spec --> following message is coming
No Inspection Plan could be found
In samples tab -- sample size could not calculated
    Please help

    Dear
-In this case you create one inspection plan through QP01 for material code.
-Assigned the inspection plan through QA02 (At the time of assignment Key date should be current)
-Calculate the sample size by clicking over Sample tab and then Save the document.
-Status of inspection lot will get changed to REL.
-Proceed for the further transactions like QE11 to QA11

  • Lot size not being generated

    The scenario is as follows:
We have raw material for our internal consumption. for some reason, we have parted with some of the raw material one of the customer/competitor. since we have batch management in our company, we did maintain so. the objective of maintaining batch is to ease the tracing / tracking of the material.
1.material(raw matl - matl type ROH) created. posted goods receipt with movement type 561. batch no. generated.
2 subsequently, sales order created, delivered, billed. accounting doc generated.
3 Further, returns sales doc generated, delivered and posted goods receipt and returned material directly taken into Quality Inspection.
4 Inspection plan generated with inspection characteristics. control key used is "QM01"
Now, system should generate the lot size for the material returned by the customer, which is not happened so far.
Can someone guide as to how to generate the Inspection Lot?

    Hi
Try with this but I am not sure.
In Material Master, select "<b>Quality Management</b>" tab and include Inspection Type <b>05</b> and select "<b>Active</b>".
By doing this, as and when <b>PGR</b> (Post Goods Receipt) is done, the respective stock will go to quality automatically.

  • INSPECTION LOT-SAMPLSIZE

    Dear Gurus,
In the Material Master we have maintained Inspection type-->04,inspection lot are created on confirmation,Result recording and UD are done.Sampling procedure is maintained and Sample size is 1.
My client is in Cold rolling business, they check thickness of cold roll by doing profiling test by taking 1 sample per roll, but once 15 days or once after every 300 tons approx, the thickness of cold roll have great fluctutions in thickness, now in this case they take around 8 to 10 samples for each batch, where as sampling size maintained in the sampling procedure is 1,they say its because of maintaince problem of rolling machine.
In this case how will i map this senario at present i am in implementation stage,Is it i have to map test equipment calibration or is it this scanrio is integration with Plant maintaince.
    Regards
    Ram

    Dear Ram
    1) How about maintaining 2 differenet operations one with sample 1 and another with sample 8
    2) maintain larger scope / scope not defined in the control indicator of the MIC. You can record values more than one
you can enter the no of samples to be inspection at the RR

  • Inspection lot number ranges skipping

My inspection lot number ranges are skipping, those are std number ranges like 01 origin, 04 origin etc, what could be the reason for that.
Inspn lots are getting generated and I took UD also. But certain numbers in the range got skipped.
Eg:- Incoming inspn lot 010000000041 then it comes 010000000045
Lot numbers 01/42, 01/43, 01/44 does not exist in sytem.
    Please suggest a way out

    Craig,
But expert suggestion says, not to switch off buffer thru SNRO as it may affect fuctionality as you said early in this discussion.
But I believe, this is to be relooked by SAP as number range skipping is not good (My case its skipping 5-7 numbers at a time). But I am not convinced with the reply from SAP also.
Anyway thanks to you craig for your advice.
SAP Note on this matter for reference of all. Thanks

    Summary
    Symptom
Gaps (jumps) occur when allocating internal numbers.
The status of the number range interval does not match the number that was last assigned.
The number assignment does not reflect the insert sequence.

    Reason and Prerequisites
A large number of number range objects are buffered. When the system buffers a number range object, it does not update numbers individually in the database but reserves a preset group of numbers (depending on the number range object) in the database the first time a number is requested, and makes these numbers available to the application server in question. The following numbers can then be taken directly from the application server buffer. New numbers are not used in the database until the application server buffer has been used up.
The effects described under "Symptom" are a direct consequence of this:
If an application server is shut down, the numbers that are left in the buffer (that is, that are not yet assigned) are lost. As a result, there are gaps in the number assignment.
The status of the number range interval reflects the next free number that has not yet been transferred to an application server for intermediate buffering. The current number level therefore does not display the number of the "next" object.
The current number level (for each server) can be displayed using Transaction SM56. Call transaction SM56 and choose the menu 'Goto' -> 'Entries'. In the dialog box, enter the client, the affected number range object (for example, RK_BELEG) and possibly the required subobject (corresponds to the controlling area for the object RK_BELEG).
If you use several application servers, the numerical sequence will not reflect the (chronological) insert sequence because the numbers are buffered separately on the individual hosts.
Buffering the number range objects has a positive effect on performance, because the system no longer has to access the database (number range table NRIV) for each posting. Furthermore, a serialization of this table (database locking) is prevented to a large extent so that posting procedures can be carried out in parallel.
    Solution
Since number range buffering does not cause any expressly assured qualities to be lost, no correction is required.
If you still require continuous allocation, you can deactivate the number range buffering specifically for individual objects.
    Proceed as follows:
    - Start Transaction SNRO and enter the affected object.
    - Choose 'Change'.
    - Deactivate buffering: Choose 'Edit' -> 'Set Up Buffering' -> 'No Buffering'.
    - If you want to change the buffer size only, enter the corresponding value in the field 'No. of numbers in buffer'.
    - Save the changes.
Please note that this change is a modification. The modification is overwritten as soon as the affected number range object is redelivered - in other words, you must check the change manually each time you import a release.
In particular, read Note 678501, bearing in mind that changing the buffering type - if not explicitly recommended by SAP - constitutes a modification. For other possible solutions, refer to the following notes:
    179224, 599157 and 840901.
For the the following number range objects, gaps may cause users to have doubts since they are 'expecting' a sequential numbering:
    Area CO:
    - RK_BELEG   (CO Document)
CAUTION: Note that the problems described in Notes 20965 and 29030 may occur if you deactivate buffering.

Number range buffering can be activated or deactivated at any time.
Number range objects that have to be continuous due to legal specifications (for example, RF_BELEG, RV_BELEG), or due to a corresponding application logic must not be buffered using the buffering type 'Main memory buffering'. See also Notes 37844 (for RF_BELEG) and 23835 (for RV_BELEG).

  • Raw material issue for inspection from inspection lot

    Hello friends,
My sample size is fixed i.e.75 gm for all  raw material quality testing. I have defined sampling procedure with sampling type "fixed sample". I want that this amount should be decreased from total lot quantity when i am posting it to unrestricted use. i.e. for 10 kg inspection lot quantity, 9.925 kg quantity should be posted .Now, system propose whole quantity for stock transfer from quality to unrestricted after usage decision.
    Waiting for reply!
    Thanks in advance!!

    Dear Kiran
    1)  System doesnot take decimal in samples. if your basic unit is KG and you procure 10kg material system will consider sample amount as 1 kg. it will not take 0.075kg as the sample.
    2) Other option is make the procurement in GMs but that  will be difficult for purchaser to handle
    3) or esle make use of this exit and do the posting based on that
