Inspection lot summary when GR post to same material and batch

Dear Experts,
The business flow is, when material with same batch number come to plant, this batch may split and post to different storage location.
we have tried setting control inslot parameter to "2 For each material batch and storage location" but it only work within one storage location.
can any expert suggest idea about this thing, thanks a lot.

You'll only be able to stop the second lot from being created. You won't be able to update an open, existing inspection lot because of the different storage location. SAP can't have two segments of inventory linked to the same insp. Lot.
Are you using batch status at your plant? As an alternative, you could create the batches with a restricted batch status. Then the whole batch, regardless of storage location shows as restricted stock. Use the user exit to prevent creation of additional insp lots. When the first insp lot is completed, the batch status can be changed via the UD stock posting to unrestricted stock. When this happens, all stock of the batch in all other storage locations will change to unrestricted stock.

lot summary level '2' had maintained in material record, when GR, lot summary work rightly.
But after UD and stock post to unrestricted stock and new GR, no inspection lot generated and stock were posted to unrestricted stock directly.
My question is ,why system does not generate new inspection lot?
I also found it in document that , lot summart does not take place if "A previously created inspection lot has already been completely credited from the stock", is that means system will create new lot in this situation?

After UD
If the UD is accept, SAP will not create new inspection lot.
If UD is reject SAP will create a new inspection lot.
If UD is not made but 'Qty to be posted' is zero then also SAP will create new inspection lot for subsequent goods receipts.

How to use SAP XI to get Inspection Lot IDOC when Insp. lot is created

I want to create a 3rd party .NET app that gets an Inspection Lot IDOC when an inspection lot is created, gather the inspection results, then push the results back to SAP in an IDOC. How do I use SAP XI to do that? I developed an HTTP listener .NET app and configured a sender communications channel for the SAP System and a receiver connunications channel for the HTTP adapter in the XI integration scenario, but how do I configure the XI integration scenario to send my app an IDOC when an inspection lot is created, and what IDOCs do I use?

I think you can use
IDOC TYPES : QALITY01, QALITY02
in XI you can create
IDOC to HTTP as a scenario
IDOC need to be triggered from SAP system and you can import the IDOC metadata into XI from SAP

Inspection Lot creation when COGI in REM

When there any errors (COGI) during GR-REM (MFBF), it is observed that system is not creating the inspection lot. can anyone help me explaning this behaviour

Hello Raghava,
In the material master for the inspection type if in the Control insLot the setting maintained is an inspection lot for each material document item or an inspection lot for each material document and material or an inspection lot for each material and batch then the lot will be created with the material document .
in other words creation of the material document will be the triggering point for lot creating for this setting . As during the goods movement error the material document is not created hence the lot is not created .

How can 2 diff prices for 2 GRs of same material and same Qty be ??

When i am doing 2 Goods Receipts (GR) for same material and same Qty with different Batch characteristic, the material price (in the Quantity tab of MIGO screen) is getting changed. Two different prices are coming to the two different GRs. How this can be ??
Actually it has to pick the std. material price from material master as "S" is the price control .
May anyone tell how is the Batch characteristic configured to an automatic split valuation (Valuation type) and thus a new price is copied to the field in the GR screen. (MSEG-DMBTR)

Hi Ram,
Please check wheather the split valuation is activated or not for this material.
if it is activated,
go to mm03.
select accouintg view, enter the valuation type ; in your case BATCH1.
then you can see the value of this batch material.
again go to mm03,
enter second batch in the valuation type.
you can see the batch2 material value.

Inspection Lot with Zero stock posting qty

Dear QM Consultants,
We have come across following scenario,
1.     Repetitive manufacturing
2.     Material has inspection type 04 and Z04. Preferred inspection type is not ticked. Z04 inspection type has been assigned to inspection lot 04.
3.     Production GR done by 131 movement
4.     Inspection lot generated with reference to 131 movement type. Lot for inspection type 04 is created.
5.     Inspection lot qty in QA32 it shows correctly as that of GR qty.
6.     But when we click on UD, in stock posting tab, qty to be posted it shows as ZERO. So no qty is available for stock posting.
Has anybody came across such scenario? Is this any bug? Any SAP note for this?

Dear Sujit, Thanks for so prompt reply,
Basically this is a complex case,
1.     See we have set Posting Proposal in Usage Decision as u2018To unrestricted useu2019 in selected sets for usage decision. That means we need not every time go to stock posting tab. The moment we select ACC UD code it automatically posts the stock to unrestricted use.
2.     Now, what has happed, by 131 movement declaration, backflush happened with 261 movement for child parts.
3.     Inspection lots with inspection type 04 were created. (Here we did not note whether the stock was posted in quality inspection or in unrestricted use)
4.     Now the requirement is to cancel 131 movement document. Kindly note UD were not given up to this moment.
5.     Now through MFBF, user did document specific reversal. As a result of which and as per my knowledge 132 movement should happen and 262 should also happen. At the same time inspection lot status should be set to LTCA. But in actual case 132 movement happened and 262 did not. Surprisingly inspection lot did not set to LTCA status. It remained in REL mode only.
6.     After this document specific reversal, user gave UD to these inspection lots without noticing where the stock was lying.(in unrestricted or in quality inspection). So the lot status set to UD   ICCO SPCO STUP after giving usage decision.
7.     Now while doing reverse engineering that why 262 movement did not happen, we came to know that no 321 movement happened for the inspection lots which were generated with reference 131 movement document
8.     Also, qty to be posted it shows ZERO as explained in my earlier post.
9.     When we display 132 movement document through MIGO, in where tab it shows stock type as Quality inspection. That means stock was lifted from QI for 132 movement.
In short it cannot be predicted where the stock was actually posted whether in QI or in unrestricted use. But yes the post to inspection stock tick has been ticked in material master.
Can you help further in this regard?

You cannot cancel GR, since inspection lot is already partly posted

I get the error message when I try to reverse the GR posting in MF41. However, how can this be possible when the inspection lots created for these have a CRTD status, meaning they cant be accessed because they have lacking characteristics.

Stock postings can be reversed with movemnt type 102, (GR for P.O- Reversal). Goto MIGO >w.ref to P.O. Once doc is revesed u need to cancel the Inspection lot. To cancel Insp lot goto QA32 , select insepction lot choose Usage decision>Functions--.cancel lot in UD screen.
If UD is taken & u want to reverse stock posting, use SAP note 175842.
However, how can this be possible when the inspection lots created for these have a CRTD status, meaning they cant be accessed because they have lacking characteristics.?
For CRTD status also u can cancel lot with above procedure. CRTD status is bcoz in improper inspection plan. goto QA02>selct lot>goto Insp spec tab for grp & grp no. Then goto QP02-> check for any Miissing MIC or control key or any param at header,opearation / chrac level. Save inpsection plan then reassign.

Generate Inspection lot operation when needed

Hi
We are using inspection lots to record supplier results for certain raw materials.
We now need to include our own test results to these inspection lots.
To accomplish this we’re thinking of using the same inspection plan with a 2nd operation.
This will enable us to generate one inspection lot per GR while recording two types of results (i.e. Op1 = Supplier, Op2 = Own).
The inspection lot will always have results from Supplier, but we might only internally test every 10th delivery (GR).
Is it possible to generate the 2nd operation (i.e. Own results) when needed?
Or any other elegant approach/process?

Not is possible add more results in a inspection lot when you made the usage decision.
For this case, you can use the inspection class 89 (Other Inspection) for manually generation inspection lot when you need to register your own results.
For this inspection class 89 you need an inspection plan with another usage (Usage 3). In this inspection plan you can to use your own test.

Inspection lot creation when Service order is released

Hi,
When i release a service order i need inspection lots to be created automatically.I get a error ''No Insp lot was generated release order anyway''.I have maintained inps type 14 in the maint order type SM03 and inspection type for origin with 'Insp Type 14' and also task list type 'Q'.Any more setting's needed?

Hi,
I need to create multiple inspection plans for same material with same usage.during the inspection lot creation i need to select any one inspection plan.
In standard SAP its not possible.Any user exits available for this..

My Dear Shayamal is absolutely correct and we are corrently using this SAP facility. You can create 'N' number of inspectio plans for a material and then whenever the inspection lot will created ( Thru a process order or Manual) then you will get the Inspection Lot Status 'CRTD' (Created mode) then you have to select your Inspection Task list manually by two way...
Either go to QA02 and then select it from the list of multiple plans.
Or you can directly go from QA32 ...select your inspection lot row and directly click on the Inspection Lot icon to go directly to the inspection lot window to slect the Task list.
Further there is no need to remove the Automatic Assignment from the QM View of the Material Master as if there is only one task List then system will automatically assign the TASK LIST, if you deselect it then you have to select in every case.

Same material different batches

Hello,
Here at my customer we want the following. When a material is purchased, or produced it will be stored in our warehouse. The material is batched managed but the problem is that different batches are stored at the same location. This is not what is expected. It should be as described below:
Material AA Batch 12345 store location XYZ
Material AA Batch 98765 store location KLM
what is to be done to make this possible so that every batch from the same material is strored at a different store location.
( but for customizing as well as for MM masterdata if possible.)

Hi Kees,
If the only thing you want is the information of the storage bin (or maybe picking location) of one batch you can create a characteristic in a batch class to record it. At goods receipt the user can record the storage bin for each new batch or change an existing one. Or even record more than one bins by batch.
Mind you, it is not a stock management solution like SAP WM, it is merely informative, similar to the "Storage Bin" in material master view "Plant Data/ stor. 1". There is no direct relation between stock quantities and this characteristic.

Stock on posting date -storage location and batch wise

Dear All
I need to developa report exactly same as MB5B but with storage location and batch wise.
We need storage location wise opening stock, total receipts, total issues and closing stock, and values for given time period.
I have gone through some history tables like MCHBH and MBEWH.
But all the history tables are having fileds for period wise but not date wise.
Any focus on this?

You have to read the coding of MB5B to see how SAP is doing it.
The stock per date is calculated, starting from a month end, adding or reducing quantities based on movements until the date in question is reached.

Same material and customer but different prices for different regions

Hi all,
I have a scenario, wherein material and customer are same but different ship-to-parties. Prices vary for the material for different regions.
Kindly suggest how to maintain condition records in this scenario. I have tested for a material for different regions but with the same prices which is working fine, but now I have to do this with different prices.
Your suggestion will be very helpful as this is very important in this business.

1. Customer/Material with release status.
2. Pricelist Category/currency/Material with release status.
3. Material with release status.
4. Price group/Material.
Can this be done with the 2nd Key Combination?
Item data; Sales B tab shows Price List as Retail and Wholesale; here we have only Wholesale Business. Kindly suggest.

Same material and vendor, but different prices

Hello All,
I want to keep two different prices for a material that is supplied by a single Vendor. The price of the material will be different when supplied by Sea and when suppplied by Air. hence, there is need to maintain 2 difffernt prices based on how the material is shipped.
I had tried it with Subrange, but I have to make 'VSR' field manadatory in PO creation, which I want to avoid. I had tried with pricing conditions based on shipping instructions, but could not find 'shipping instructions' field in any condition table.
Can some one help me on this?

create freight condition and accordingly value ( by sea or by air) would be loaded on inventory. what you will achieve by maintaining different prices? MAP would be adjust accordingly.
or if in inventory if you want to differtiate thet then activate split valuation and create valuation type as per shipping instructions.
