  • Queries related to calibration inspection process

I have some queries related to calibration business process. They are as follows:-
1.Which equipment category do we choose, Q or P?
2.While creating a maintenance plan, which category do we choose, maintenance order or quality maintenance order?
3.Is it that we can't do a time confirmation before results recording? If I try to do so,I get this message"No open operation recieving confirmation entries for order".
4.While I create my maintenance plan,I get this message, a counter could not be defined for the reference object. Why so?
5.After usage decision,if I lock my equipment for further use,the equipment has the status both AVLB and NPRT.Why?
6.Can I create my calibration order manually and assign equipment task list.If so,how?
7.While creating my test equipment, for the PRT tab,the task list usage becomes a mandatory field. What setting is done for this task list usage to become a mandatory field?
Edited by: Pallavi Kakoti on Feb 2, 2012 8:19 AM

    Hi
1.Which equipment category do we choose, Q or P?
    Ans:
Q is normaly used for Instruments,Lab equipments
P also used for Production/process related equipments needs calibrations often
2.While creating a maintenance plan, which category do we choose, maintenance order or quality maintenance order?
    Ans:
Its all depends on config you have did. if Quality maintenance order should be linked to inspection type.can be used.
we can not used maintenance order if it is not linked to inspection type 14.
3.Is it that we can't do a time confirmation before results recording? If I try to do so,I get this message"No open operation recieving confirmation entries for order".
    Ans:
You can do time confirmation after result recording, then UD.after UD ,order will be TECOed automaticlay.
4.While I create my maintenance plan,I get this message, a counter could not be defined for the reference object. Why so?
    Ans:
Check any measuring counters created for the equipments,
5.After usage decision,if I lock my equipment for further use,the equipment has the status both AVLB and NPRT.Why?
    Ans:
After UD, system changes the status NPRT for the equipments have PRT view only.
if PRT view maintained in the equipment, system status remains AVLB.
If you dont to use the equipment after UD-Reject,have to go development using user status.
6.Can I create my calibration order manually and assign equipment task list.If so,how?
    Ans:
    Yes. you can
Create task list with 300 inspection point, assign when u create order
also you can have manual call in the maintenance plans.

  • QM Inspection of a Service

The issue I have involves request to perform QM Inspection when purchasing via a service master, not a material master.  Not MM-knowledgeable enough to understand why material masters are not being used.  That decision has already been taken by part of business.
If material master was established, no issue for me.
With service master, I need comments about whether / how QM Inspection can be planned and executed at completion of service.
The closest I could see was calibration inspection where the focus of the inspection is on equipments.
There are no OSS Notes in QM where "service master" is found.
    Thanks for -some- feedback.

  • Preventive maintenance for equipments installed in plant area

    Dear experts,
I want to implement Preventive maintenance for equipments installed in plant area.
Requirement is that i should be able to create a maintenance plan & schedul it as per the due dates. Maintenance order should get created. This order can be linked to the service contract item for which service entry sheet is created & released.
I want a control on service entry sheet creation if the order is not settled or the related inspection lot which is generated is not confirmed.
Please give advice ,how to proceed.
    Regards
    Vivek Deshpande

    Hi Vivek,
Not sure on clearly what u need .. but have a look at some of the plans and examples of their usage for better idea ..
    1. Types : Time Based or Performance Based
    2. Single Cycle Plan [Time Based] : Ex u2013 Maintenance of a Vehicle every 03 months
3.Single Cycle Plan [Performance Based] :Ex- Maintenance of a Vehicle every                                1000KM .
4.Strategy Cycle Plan [Time Based] : Ex- Maintenance of a Vehicle every 03                                            months, 06 months etc.
5.Strategy Cycle Plan [Performance Based Plans] : Ex u2013Maintenance of Vehicle                                                                          every 1000km , 2000km etc.
6.Multiple Cycle Plan with single cycle set [Time or Performance Based] : Ex u2013                                                    Maintenance of a vehicle every 3months or                                  500km
7.Multiple Cycle Plan with Multiple Cycle Sets [Time of Performance Based] : Ex- Maintenance of a Vehicle every 3months or 500km and 6months or 1000km
    8. The above given are explained with callobject as Maintenance Order. For getting inspection Lot then you can use order type PM05 calibration order in your Maintenance Plan and MO gets created as per the plan cycle and inspection lot gets created once u release the MO ..
    9. If you want MP related to service items then create MP with service procurement as Maintenance plan category in IP41 .. for remaining you can put MO as Maintenance plan category  .. for details refer to SAP Help ..

  • No equipment or serial no. in manual inspection lot

    Hi All,
I have maintained 2 user status servicable & unservicable for my serialized equipments in refurbishment processing. In the process after work completed when I move the material to quality and create the manual inspection lot thru qa01 and done the usgae decision as accepted, equipment status should be changed to unservicable to serviacble. For this I am using Function Module EXIT_SAPMQEVA_010 but my problem is in inspection lot I am not able to get equipment no. or serial no. so that I can change the user status.
Can anyone please put some light on how I can get the equipment no. or serial no. in inspection lot?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
For automatic user status change :
    SPRO>Quality Management>Quality Inspection>Inspection Lot Completion>Define Follow up Actions
In follow up actions select QM_PM and double click on Function Modules. Now Uncheck the Sync Update and the AfterPosting Indicator to manually Complete the Order.
In the aboev path you can create a Z Function Module which picks eqpt no from EQUI by giving material no as input andin that you can change user status using FM STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN[This is used to set or delete User Status]

This topic is current again after attending to other matters.
Service Masters are now being used -- a different approach was formerly used.  Materials are being provided to vendor for refurbishment.  Vendor returns the ones he could refurbish.
Purchasing wizards decided to use service masters -- now I am stuck with uncertainty of how to preform receipt inspections (as similar to receipt of materials as we can).
Want to be able to have metrics showing yield of refurbished items (% good or bad, F2 Notification for bad refuurbs, etc)
    Should be learning more soon.
Many thanks for any sincere thoughts!

  • Inspection rounds with PM integration QM

    Hi gurus,
We need to design a plan for one area of the company that matches the needs for inspection round:
    ●      Planned on a regular basis for each shift.
    ●      The inspection round is always completed within one day, or within one shift.
    ●      The duration of the inspection round includes the work and the round itself within one plant.
One of the principal needs is also being able to asign measuring points to particular task lists.
We tried using the option creating our equipments as PRT and assigning it task list in PM  but not sure this is the best way.
Any idea? integration PM-QM? the thing is that in QM TX-QP01...inspection plans...use materials instead of Equipments.
    Thanks,
    VL

    VL,
I am not sure about the need to integrate QM with inspection rounds. However have you looked at the "Inspection Round" Functionality avaalable from [EHP4|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/42/fbded750e61febe10000000a422035/frameset.htm]? It looks like it might just solve your problem.
If you are in lower version, another way is to to accomplsih this is by following the below steps
      1) create a Measurement point list to identify all the measurement points to be captured in each inspection
      2) creating a separate Maintenance plan for this activity that would generate a Notification object on  a daily basis.
      3) Enhancing the Maintenance plan using user exit ( IPRM0003 User fields: Maintenance plan) to assign the above mentioned Measurement point list to the maintenance plan.
      4) Assign the Measuremnt point list to the notification on create of the notification so that the measuremnet docuemnts could be recorded.
    Hope it helps.

  • Auto creation of calibration inspection lot thru maint. planning/scheduling

    Hi
I have to schedule calibration inspection of a few equipments in such a way that system automatically create inspection lot & calibration order daily.
Whether user enter calibration result or not, inspection lots in future should be created automaticallly.
I created a single cycle plan using IP41 and start the schedule using IP10, the system created first inspection lot automaticaly but always require me go to to scheduling and save the plan again if I want to create next inspection lots. How can I configure/set the system in such a way that it creates inspection lots/calibration order automaticaly
Plz also tell after taking usage decision of inspection lot whether I need to do some act on calibration order such as technical completion or business completion.
    Thanks in advance
Edited by: Chris SAP on Jul 5, 2010 9:56 AM

    HI Chris,
During calibration order  creation only inspection lots are generated.
    Manual order creation
Run Tcode IP30 deadline monitoring to create order if it is due date the order will be generated with inspection lot.
    Automatic order creation
Create a batch program to run IP30  daily giving inputs needed so that the order will be generated daily.
Usage decision is completion of inspection lot
Technical completion and business completion is for order completion. Technical completion is needed to schedule the job correctly.

  • Yearly once inspection for specific characteristic with out inspec. lot

    Hi Experts,
My client want some specific characteristic inspection yearly once with out inspection lot.
help me how to map this scenario
    Regards,
    Sbabu
Edited by: sbabu babu on Apr 22, 2010 12:27 PM

I dont think any standard solution for this,
    few suggestions are
Go for a manual lot, client can track manual lot generation based on a report. report can be ABAP deveoped based on the client requirements. So every day client can run report and know which all materials are to be inspected on that day. I feel this as best.
DMR may have an issue as unnecessarily lot will get generated throughout the year in system. Its OK, we can do auto UD and all, but think do we really need these data go into system for rest 364 days for that one day inspection. If you ask me, I will say no to it.
Calibration lots can be generated only for equipments. Its only fixed time based inspection lot. But here material need to be maintained as equipment. i dont think, this is acceptable. Try first one which worked out well for me. Jus a report for tracking.
    Thanks

  • Inspection method

    Dear experts,
    I am new to QM.
What is the effect of inspection method in QM. Can you pls give some inspection methods which probably used for incoming, inprocess and final inspection methods.
I have gone through F1 help doc. I did not clear.
    Pls help me
    Thanks in advance
    R.D.I

As said above, You use inspection methods to describe how to carry out an inspection for an inspection characteristic.
for example: there can be various methods to carry out inspection for a particular characteristics like check resistance. u can check resistance with various methods various equipments. each method will be inspection method master.
inspection mathods can be used in MIC or directly in insp.plan but single insp. method can be used for single char.
Using the Inspection Methods, you can:
Specify how an inspection characteristic should be inspected
Define the qualifications for inspectors. The specifications in the inspection method take precedence over the specifications in the inspection characteristics.
Create different versions of an inspection method (for example, with different validity periods)
Find the desired version of an inspection method with different validity periods by specifying the key date
Make changes to inspection methods with or without history. You specify the required plant-specific default value for this function in the Customizing application. However, you can also create a new version for a validity period manually. A version management function ensures that all changes are documented.
Create a where-used list to determine the master inspection characteristics and inspection plans in which an inspection method is used

  • Inspection Tracking Application

    Hi
I want to build “Inspection Tracking Application”, in my company we have about 1000 equipments which should be inspected regularly (monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly based on the equipment type).
Using JHeadStart 10.1.2 / JDeveloper 10.1.2 and Oracle Database Express Edition, I created data entry, search and listing forms.
Now I want the application do:
o     Highlight / Alert overdue inspections (equipments were not inspected on defined frequency).
o     Help in inspection planning / scheduling, so we know the inspections to be done during next week, month, quarter, so company plan resources.
Could you give me any guidelines on how to implement these functionalities?
Do workflow and BPEL have anything to do with this?
o     How can I automatically run a query / report on a specified time? How to make it regularly executed at specific time intervals?
    Thanks
    Mohamed Arafat

    Mohamed,
I am sorry but your questions are out of the scope for this forum. This forum is intended for JHeadstart-related questions or issues, not for general application development issues or challenges.

  • Rejection in Usage Decision of an inspection Lot

    Dear Masters,
I want to know that is there any standard method to trigger the notification for rejection of an inspection lot?
Please do explain. Thanks in advance.
    Chin2

    Dear Pushpa,
Once again thanks for your reply. In the case mentioned above I can only define one notification type, what if I have more than one notification type to be used on rejection in usage decision? I will explain my scenario as below:
I have 3 different quality notification types i.e, 1) Engineering Calibration notification (For Engineering Equipments)
                                                                              2) Quality Calibration Notification (For Quality Equipments)
                                                                              3) Fleet & Trade Calibration Notification (For Fleet & Trade Equipments)
Now, I have 3 different types of orders from which the inspection lot will be created and for those 3 different types of orders I want 3 different types of notifications to be generated on rejection of the inspection lot.
Please do guide if there is any standard method to achieve this
    Thanks once again.

  • Follow-up action : please help - Inspection Lot related

    Hi,
I am having the following trouble:
Through MB02, a printout is generated to the local printer (LOCL).
However, through QA11, when we save, we have a custom follow-up action attached that pops-up a
    dialog screen.
The follow up action is triggered when a usage decision is changed for the inspection lot.
The follow-up action (configured in IMG) calls a Function Module and a screen, which in turn populates
a value into a custom DB table (based on the buttons, on the screen, sending either to LOCL or to a
    zebra printer).
Now, what has to happen is that after inserting the value into a custom table, it should also open a sapscript and output.
The Sapscript and print program are there, with the print program being created 3-4 years ago by someone
else. However, even though we have code in the print program to update nast, in turn creating a message
for output (1st the custom DB table is checked to see if the values match, MATNRCHARG), It does not update
NAST. When we go through MB02, it does, but this should happen automatically after selecting one of the radio
buttons on the original pop-up & selecting print.
Please help. I don't know what to do and can't enable a debugger from the pop-up and if going though QA11,
I can't get it to stop inside the print program (only inside the custom FM).
    Cheers,
    John
