Inspection - operation

Hi, after operation 20 (say after cutting), the product need to be inspected by inspector using special machine, which will take atleast 3hrs time and then the product is passed to next operation. in this case shall we define this insp as one operation with one work center as that special machine, and capture the time thru confirmation? is there any option in qm module to capture inspection time. how to capture this. pls advise.

Hi
For the operation 20 you can use QM01 as control key and once the operation 10 is confirmed the stock will be automatically move to inspection. Then after you have clear the stock by taking results recording and usage decision and then only the next operation is allowed.
Hope this is clear

  • In-process inspection- operation wise result recording sequence

    Hello Everyone,
I have just come across a requirement and would be grateful if someone can help me out in this regard.
    1.     This is make to stock discrete manufacturing scenario.
    2.     Inspection type 03 has been activated in material master.
    3.     The setting in OPK4 are, error if no inspection results exist and error when operation sequence is not adhered to.
    4.     As a result of which I cannot confirm the operation in CO11N unless result recording is done for corresponding operation.
    The requirement,
    1.     User should not be able to carry out result recording for operation 30 unless at least 1 quantity of operation 20 (preceding operation) is confirmed. Likewise it should behave for rest of the operations.
    2.     Practically material is processed for operation 30 only if 20 is confirmed. Therefore operation 30 should be inspected after 20. System allows to input result recording for all the operations irrespective its confirmations.
Is there any standard solution for this or should I go for any exit?
    Thank you,
    Anand Rao

    Hi Sujit,
    Thanks for so prompt response.
I am using inspection point 100. Still it is not restricting. The operation confirmation is done through CO11N and not feasible for users to perform it through QM module.
The logic is, if I try to carry out result recording for operation 30 , system should firstly check whether any confirmation number exists or (at least 1 quantity is confirmed)for previous operation i.e. 20. If not it must stop doing RR for 30 operation.
Whether exits QEEM0011 and QEEM0015 can restrict this, as by their description I think these work after entering RR. Here it is required before RR. Any guesses?
Thank you again for your kind reply.
    Regards,
    Anand
    An addition,
Even though QEEM0011 works before valuation user is able to enter RR. The requirement is user should not enter the any RR irrespecive of valuation. If user enters RR and do not valuate it this exit may not work and eventually can allow to confirm OP30.

  • How to find the inspection Operation wise status ?

    Hi
There are two operation in result recording
two different persons are entering the result in different operation....
there is no sequence in entering the results...
any one can enter at any time....
    but user requirement ...is
they want to know whether they entered the results or not without going into result recording screen...
Suppose if results entered they want to know which operation is completed  (Because system status showing INSP , if any one operation is completed)
Is there any work around...(Like User status........?)
    R Karthikeyan

    Hi,
Do result recording  in transaction QE51N, here if you expand the  operation you can see Red,green or gray  indicators. Red indicates recorsing completed but some rejection, green indicates completed and accepted and gray indicates not valuated.
    Please check.

  • IN PROCESS INSPECTION, QM operation blocking next PP Operation

    Evening dear members.
It is possible to create a QM operation which could block the next PP operation on a PP recipe/route, until the QM one is released/confirmed/finished.?
    Example:
    10 PP operation CLEANING
    20 QM operation MICROBIOLOGY TESTS
**if results of 20 are A-OK,,,,release/open/allow**
30 PP operation 1st PP OPERATION
40 QM operation DOESNT BLOCK next operation
    50 PP....... and so on
If yes, what do I have to mantain to do so?
    Appreciate your feedback

    hi,
Create one new Control key for Inspection operations in:
QCC0>Quality Planning>Inspection Planning>Operation>Define Control Keys for Insp. Operations.
If it is for QM operation, do not forget to flag "insp char. required".
And in "Confirmation" field, Select "1" Milestone Confirmation.
    now, if you assign this key (With Milestone Confirmation) for Operation 0020,0030, 0040;
System will not allow to Confirm 0030,0040 unless 0020 is not confirmed.
Check this in your Case. i hope it will solve your problem.

  • Operation Number Based Inspection Lots

    Hi,
I am having an inspection plan with 10 operations and inside each operations characteristics are maintained.
When I create a manual inspection lot for this inspection plan, how can I create a lot for any one operation alone. I dont want other operations to be shown during result recording. How can I do this, without changing master data frequently.
Any option for selecting inspection operations while creating a lot.
    Thanks
    Vineeth Varghese

    Hi,
1- Using of unplanned MIC is ruled out due to the quantum of data. This will not meet my requirement.
2- Deletion of operation from an inspection lot also not possible I think. If yes, in any way, please let me know.
3- Creation of inspection lot, by selection of desired operations from an inspection plan with many operations also may not be possible..
For 2 and 3, if there is any work around please let me know.
Now, can someone tell me, how to do operation wise confirmation after result recording for a manually created inspection lot. This may helpful when 2 and 3 not going to work.
This requirement is for operation wise product audit for a material. I can copy characteristic from a routing. But each time I do audit, I will do it for one operation only. Thats Y, I am trying for deleting all other operations from inspection lot which I created manually.
    Thanks

  • [QM] How to create an inspection lot with task list assigned?

    Hello, everyone.
I know, the similar questions have been asked plenty of times, but I am still unable to find a suitable receipe of the inspection lot creation. My goal is to create an inspection lot programmatically and be able to record its results using, e.g., BAPI_INSPOPER_RECORDRESULTS.
Creating a lot does not appear to be a big problem. I just call the following FMs:
    QPL1_INITIALIZE
    QPL1_INSPECTION_LOT_CREATE
    QPL1_UPDATE_MEMORY
    QPL1_INSPECTION_LOTS_POSTING
    BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
As a result, I have a new shiny inspectin lot, but it comes with statuses "CRTD" and "CHCR". I do specify PLNAL and PLNNR fields values for the QALS structure which is passed to QPL1_INSPECTION_LOT_CREATE, but that does not seem to have any effect. When I call BAPI_INSPOPER_RECORDRESULTS later (result values and inspection points come from another lot which is used as a template), it reports of beging unable to find characteristics for the inspection operations (error E026).
Does anyone know which of the QPL1_INSPECTION_LOT_CREATE parameters affect task list assignment besides PLNAL and PLNR? Or maybe there is a special FM which associates a task list with an inspection lot?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Samuel,
You can get create an Agent as a Task by using the following steps:
    1. Go to Customizing --> EHS --> Industrial Hygiene & safety --> Risk Assessment --> Specify Agent Types
    2. Click on "TASK' Agent type and click on Details icon (CtrlShiftF2)
    3. In the "Only EHS-IHS" drop down, Select "No"
    4. Save the entry
    5. Now try creating an Agent [CBIH92] and you can create an Agent as a Task.
    Hope it Helps,
    Raghu

  • In-process inspection in repetitive manufacturing

    Hi,
My client handles assembling of electronic products.  product passes through different set of operations where in it proceeds to the next operation only when the prior operation is approved in terms of quality.
We are trying to go with repetitve mfg but we are unable to understand in-process inspection operation wise.  Pls advise is this feasible or we only need to go with discrete mfg with production orders.

Edited by: SRAVAN KUMAR on Oct 6, 2008 6:45 AM

    Dear,
    1. Setting up inprocess inspection
for inprocess REM you have to maintained inspection type 13 in material master. and select task list. for that you have to maintained inspection point in your rate routing for ex for partial lot quantity based.
    2. GR Inspection from production
then you go for result recording for inspection point and do the reporting point backflushed through result recording of every inspection point.
    3. At what stage the QM lot is generated .
for that you have to create inspection lot in t code MFPR for your production version and for that inspection lot you have do above work.

  • Setting up inspection point in a scenario require more than one inspection

    Hi all,
Maybe I am still not very clear on the PP-QM conceptu2026 hope you can see my problem on the following questionu2026..
According to SAP in the QM-production environment, we key in ONE inspection point in the task list header level (i.e. either the master recipe, routing, or rate of routing).
Based on the following business scenario which is going to use inspection point for the inspection:
u2022     Time-based intervals (for example, an inspection point every hour or for each work shift)
u2022     Quantity-based intervals (for example, an inspection point for each container)
u2022     Freely-defined intervals (for example, an inspection point each time a tool change occurs)
Since each of the above scenarios require more than one inspection points to be created and to be assigned to the task list header.
Thus, how to accomplish multiple inspection point assignment when the task-list header only allow me to assign one inspection point at a time?
    Thanks
    YY

    Hi guys,
Thanks. However, in the SAP help portal it does said the system allows several inspection points to be assigned to an inspection operation whether it is in routing or recipe.
Therefore, does it means I can assign more than one inspection points in the operation detail level for either recipe or routing if I will to click the u201CNo relationu201D radio button in the u201CQuality Management: Inspection Pointu201D section. (i.e. is this is the right place to allows this assignment)?
For example, on the change master recipe screen at the Operation tab, I highlight one line item (i.e. one operation line item and zoom into this operation line item, I donu2019t see any field box that allow me to assign several inspection points to an operation? Instead, on the u201CQuality Management: Inspection Pointu201D section, there are the following fields appear:
    - Insp.pointCompletion dropdown box
    - 4 radio buttons on the inspection interval (ie. Time-related, Qty-related, No-relation) and its subseq time and quantity value input box.
    - Quan.pt. lot checkbox
    - Last Part Lot Assgmt checkbox
Thus, where is the section in the operation overview screen at Master Recipe or Routing level that I can assign several inspection points?
    Thanks

  • Cost of reagents (materials) used for QM inspection

    Hi,
Could you please clarify the issue of managing reagents that were used for QM inspection?
Reagent is set in the system as ROH material. The objective is to view the amount and the cost of reagents that were used for the inspection operation.
There is a possibility to use QM order for the appraisal costs. But only time-related activities are taking into consideration there (for instance, n working hours of personal * rate).
The question is how to manage costs of materials (reagents) that were used while inspection operation.
Is there any possibility to carry out goods issue for the QM order?

    Thanks for your answer, Gajesh
Though the movement type you proposed is not exactly what I was looking for, your answer lead me to goods issue in relation to QM-order. This is not possible with MB1A.
I tried MIGO. I added the field "Order" to the tab "Account Assignment" through the OMJJ transaction for 201 movement type.
And now it's possible to enter the QM order number while posting goods issue (reagents issue).
The relative controlling document contains the QM order number.
The only inconvenience left is the necessity to remember the QM-order number when posting the goods issue. Though the goal is achieved somehow.

  • PR Creation at Inspection lot creation

    Dear QM Experts
can we generate Purchase requisition with the creation of Inspection lot, Automatically.
in my case there are some inspection operation performed by external agency for which he charge some amount for services.
for this i created a control key of external services and assign this in the inspection plan in a separate operation and enter all the required data like cost element, vendor, Purchasing oganization and material group but when i created the inspection lot , PR is not generated,
should this requirement be cater by SAP?
    Regards

    Hi,
Why do not you try here Source inspection.
During crsation of purchase order lot will get generated .you can inspect material before its coming to your place..
You have to activate 0101 inspection type active.
Qinfo record you have activate source inspection.
Even in procurrement key in custamizing you can have option if material get rejected.
Once purchase order created to create lot you have run transaction QI07.where you can click on create lot.after saving this transaction you can get lot..Then you record result as per toyr requirement like from external services.

  • Restiction of Production Order Operation Confirmation

    Dear Friends,
I need to restrict Production Order Confirmation among Production & Quality Control users i.e. production order contains both Production as well as Quality Inspection operations. I want to put restriction such that Production people should be able to confirm only Production relavant operations , same as QA people should only be able to confirm Quality Inspection operations.
Specifically I need more clarity on defining clear authorisation objects which can fulfill above requirement.
Kindly share your valuable inputs for the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    Bad news Teja,
I go dig deep down to authorization object someone posted C_AFRU_APL Confirmation: Authorization for actual work center.  It seems like in standard SAP will check this object only if the order category is 20 (PS network orders), or 30 (PM work order) but not production orders.
So if you want to check during CO11N transaction.  Maybe user exit CONF003 (PP Order Confirmation: Customer-Specific Checks after Operation selection) with the sample code can be explored.

  • Capacity planning for inspection

    Hi,
I would like to plan for capacity required to complete inspection lots at our labs. This should include inspection types for 01, 03, 04 and 08. Is there a way I can do this in SAP ? I am planning to use an enhancement and create a planned order for every inspection lot (1:1 relation). But I don't know how that will work. Does anyone have any ideas ?
    Thanks

    Hi GS,
I think that's a good question, might not have been explored much.
I think, you can try to utilize the potential of "Quality Work Center" attached to inspection operations, and activate Machine and Labor as capacity categories, use relevant formulas and try the standard Capacity planning process for PP.
For more details, please go through the links -

  • Discussion: The usage of Inspection Points

    Hi Experts,
Talking about the INSPECTION POINTS, what kind of usage could it be ?
In some occasions,  it can be used as an sign that distinguish each delivery from the production line to the QM dept.
How about any other way to use it?

An inspection point is an identifiable record of inspection results that is assigned to a work or inspection operation. Several inspection points can be assigned to an inspection operation.
With inspection points, you can have several inspections and can record multiple sets of characteristic results for an operation.
Inspection Points for Inspections During Production
If you inspect during production using routings, rate routings or master recipes and you want to record inspection results in specific intervals, choose the inspection point type Free inspection points in production. You can define your own field combinations for this inspection type in Customizing.
    Inspection Points in Goods Receipt
If you carry out goods receipt inspections with inspection points, choose the inspection point type Free inspection points in production. You can create your own field combinations for this inspection type in Customizing.
    Inspection Points in Plant Maintenance
If you carry out calibration inspections and want to record inspection results for equipment or functional locations, choose the inspection point type for Equipment or Functional location. You can create your own field combinations for these inspection types in Customizing. However, the field Equipment or Functional location must exist in the field combination.
    Inspection Points in Sample Management
If you use the sample management functions in a goods receipt inspection, or inspection during production with planned physical samples, each sample number is uniquely identified by an inspection point. Choose the inspection point type Physical sample. You can create your own field combinations for this inspection type in Customizing. However, the field Sample must exist in the field combination.

  • What is the Earlier Inspection process

    Dear Folks,
What is the earlier inspection process ?
And my actual requirement is , i want to do the final inspection process for  a material with refernece to a production order and i want to do another operation with reference to the same production order after completion of this final inspection operation.
I heared that through earlier inspection process it is possible. But i do not what is that.
Can anybody explain the earlier inspection process.
    thanx in advance .
    Regards
    Srinivas

    Hi,
    Early Inspection Lot:
    Excerpts from Std SAP documentation:
An inspection lot with inspection lot origin 04 is created when a
production or process order is released. You can use this inspection
lot to inspect goods receipts of the finished quantities and then
manage them after goods receipt posting in the inspection lot stock.
Recommendation: Avoid making a usage decision for this type of early
inspection lot before any goods receipts have been posted. The usage
decision will then have a stock quantity of 0, but will not have the
status completely credited. This means that any following goods
receipts will be posted into the stock for this inspection lot. You
must then credit this lot from the stock quantity yourself, even if
you do not intend to perform further checks.
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Dheeraj
