Inspection per production version

Dear all
My customer would like to activate quality inspection for good receipt from production but according to the workcenter on which the material has been  produced. Which means that depending of the workcenter on which it is produced, the quality inspection will be active or not.
Do you havean idea on how to handle that?
I have activated inspection type 04 in material master but an inspection lot will be created for all production orders
Thanksa lot

Hi,
Similar requirement for inspection lot based on W/c was once discussed here and I think this should be helpful to you. You would need to go for customization and User exits to achieve this. Pl refer following thread for more details.
For same material need different Insp. Plans at different workcenters

  • Quality plan as per production version

    Hi SAP gurus,
My client has multiple Production versions and they want to use different Quality plan as per version , how  I can map this process in SAP.
I tired using in production version by putting Qualiity plan instaed of routing,  Inpection lot is created but when it come for the production order it was asking for the routing / or operation generation.
As few specfication of Quality plan is different , that is the reason Plan has to be specific to PV.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
Even if you create a Inspection plan you might have observed in the production version you have to specify the Routing.
Reason is syem will check the routing for cost collector in production order.
what you can do is may be you can carry out inprocess inspection with routing & specify the char in the task list
    or
You may have to go for userexit while selection of the task list you will select the appropriate task list with appropraite prod version
Also if you creat two inspection plan with two gr counters & do not tick on "Auto Assign" in the QM view,
System will create a lot of 04 with CRTD status.
In QA02 you can go & manually attach the relevent task list.
What you can do is create a Group with name of "prod version" itself. This will ease the attaching of the tak list to the the lot.
I hope this will add some value.

  • Creation of inspection lot 04 depending on production version

    Hi Experts,
could you tell me if it is possible to create a Good Receipt inspection (lot origin 04) depending on the production version used ?
My material has 2 production versions:
0001 - production with process order
0002 - production with repetitve manufacturing
When I do a GR on process order, I do not want to create an inspection lot 04.
When I do a GR on product cost collector, I want to create an inspection lot 04.
As I have entered inspection types in material master data, I do not know how to do the distinction ?
Thanks in advance for your help

  • MFPR - Processing Inspection Lots for Production versions issue

    Hello,
User are not able to seeing line item to create inspection lot for a specific part number.
I checked inspection set up in  material master, rate routing, and compared with similar part numbers. It all looks good to me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

In REM Inspection lot for Inprocess is generated for header material for which you actually define "production version".
Line items can not be seen in MFPR.

  • Record results per Product, not per inspection characteristic

    Dear,
Is is possible, in transaction QE51N to record results per product (or serial number) rather than per characteristic?
Today, I can only see a result recording per characteristic. For example: for inspection characteristic 1, I enter all the results for each product, then I go to inspection characteristic 2, etc. I would like to enter my results per products, i.e. for product 1: enter results for inspection characteristic 1, 2, ..., and then do the same for product 2, etc.
    Is that possible?

That is what I do. I execute the transaction for one particular inspection lot. However, when I enter into the record results screen for this particular inspection lot, I first have to "enter" into one of the master inspection characteristic, and then start recording per product (or serial number). What I would like to have is to "enter" into one product (or serial number), and for this particular product, enter all the master inspection characteristics I have previously defined.
If you still don't see what I mean, can you give me your e-mail so that I can attach an image
Oh yes, and by the way, is it possible to execute the transaction qe51n based on the criteria "production order" instead of on the criteria "inspection lot" or "plant" or whatever. I know that you change it in the layout, but I really can't find the production order on the "hidden fields"

  • QC Activity based on Material Production Version

    Hi,
Normally, we perform QC activity based on Material Code, i.e. in Material Master we maintain inspection type in QM View for material which needs QC activation during Good Receipt from Production
Is it possible to perform QC Activity based on Production Version of a material i.e.
    For Example
Product A having 2 Production Versions
IF Product A with Production Version 1 then No QC required during goods receipt from production
IF Product A with Production Version 2 then QC required during goods receipt from production
So please tell me what feasible solution possible from your side
    With Regards,
    Kunal Sheth

    Dear Sap User,
Production version is nothing just a combination of Master recipe/Routing and BOM used for particular production or process.
If you are having so many production version then you have to choose which you want to choose but if you are having a single production version then it will be chosen automatically.
Do it once and revert in case of any query.

  • Production Version in R/3 & PDS in APO

    Hi Team,
I have below master data settings in R/3:
    1. Material Master
    2. BOM
    Note:
I do not have work center & routing in R/3. I have set the default operation for my order type in OPJG.
But as per system landscape, the planning will be performed in APO. Hence i need to CIF the production version to APO from R/3. But i do not have routing in R/3. Is it possible to create the production version without routing (in R/3)?
    Thanks

Yes, It can be transferred. You need to create CIF integration model(CFM1) with "BOM" option selected.
    SAP Help says following -
    Material BOM in Integration Model
If you set this indicator, all bills of material that correspond to the
stated selection options are indcluded in your model.
    Dependencies
The material BOM filter object can only be used in connection with the
production data structure (iPPE) and it is used to map phantom assemblies.
Only those bills of material are transferred for materials for which no
production production versions have been created.
    Hope this will help.
    Thank you

    Hello Vivek,
Really thanks for your mail. Please see below comments-
    1) I checked the transaction COOIS & also told user to select Production Version after executing the report by giving Plant code & dates. But user asking for this field before execution.
As per your suggestion I checked in Header level of first screen but its not showing me also.

  • MRP run with lot size as per prod. version and capacity levelling

    Dear PP experts,
Hi, We are working with strategy 10. For SFG and FG produced inhouse we have created BOM and recipe with production version.
    For example:
I have a production version with batch size as 100 Kg.
I load PIR for 500 Kg in MD61.
I have maintained lot size as EX in the material master but I have not defined mini. and max. lot size.
Is it possible during the MRP to consider the production version batch size if the mini. and max. lot size is not maintained in the system and create 5 Planned Order of 100 Kg each.
I know, how it can be done by using lot size in material master or by maintaining schedule lines in MD61 or by maintaining quota. But if nothing is maintained is it possible for the system to create 5 Planned orders as per the production version batch size.
Pl. check if this is possible and revert back.
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi
No, system will not consider the size that maintained in the production version  for the creation of planned order while the mrp run .
This lost size is used to validate the bom/ routing combiation for the particular  pv of the material

  • Project "Installer Build Product version" vs exe version

    Hi,
Can someone help me understand why the "Installer Build" in a project has a "product version", which later shows up in the Windows add/remove programs?
I must be missing something because to me it seems very strange that what they call "product version" in the installer is not automatically linked to the compiled exe version that the installer is built for?
Now I have to try and remember to manually keep these two versions synchronized, and the build 'product version' doesn't even have the same number of fields as the exe version information?!
It's strange when my program splash screen shows "V1.2.0.8" (read by the app by inspecting its own exe) but in the windows add/remove programs, it could say something totally different, such as 1.0.6...
Why is it like this??  How do other people use/handle these various version numbers?  -is there a way for my app exe to find what the installed "product version" is?

I suppose it helps explain.. Perhaps I just need to think differently about how to name our installers..  Divorce the installer name from the (main) application name, then the difference in version numbers wouldn't be confusing.
Ideally the NI builder would be flexible enough that you could have a "Company Name" as the "installer name" and you could add/remove/maintain the whole company's product list with that same installer, similar to the NI installer.. sounds like a lot of work though.
    Thanks for replying!
It does sound like a ton of work!  I have to belive it is feasable with TKs like VIPM and Deploy on the market. (A few others I am less familliar with come to mind as well)  Niether is exactly what you seem to want but demo that the tech is there!

  • MRP Run with production version.

    Hi Experts;
I am working as a member of a SAP implementation supporting team. The client wants to run MRP with alternative BOM, not with the 1st BOM. As a solution for the requirement i created production versions and assigned to MD61 schedule line tab. It is working properly.
But the user maintain some quantity as a safety stock for finished materials also. To cover the safety stock requirement, system create planned orders with the 1st BOM, not the production version.Already i have maintained the selection method "3" in material master.
Is it possible to cover safety stock with alternative BOM.
    Please help..
    Thanks,
    Malka

    Hello Malka,
    For your issue,,
As per other expert suggested you can block the first production version but if in future you want use first production then,,
In these case you maintain production version in many way
    Ex.
    1.  Lot size .(if production version using for specific lot)
Maintain the Lot for both production version, so Production version 1 lot completed system take       second production version.
    2. Production version validity date (If production version using for specific period )
In this case after completion of 1. Production version period system take second one
    3. Manually selection of production version (If multiple production version and all have same condition)
Whenever you convert the planned order to production order, one pop up come and ask for                manually selection for Production version, for this you go to OPL8 and select the Manually                production version
I hope this information cover your all requirement, No need to go with quota arrangement
Still you want know about the Quota arrangement, Please create new thread so other expert also provide their view

  • Change the Product version from ECC to ERP 6.0

    Hello Experts
I am planning to apply EHP4 on my Development ECC system. In line with the the suggestion from guide "How to install SAP Enhancement Package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0" system I am supposed to define my ECC system with leading product version ERP 6.0.
My Ecc system is currently defined with Product version SAP ECC 6.0.
As per the above guide and also suggestion from "Note 1344564 - Maintenance Optimizer: Check system landscape" which says-
"In particular for a system of the product SAP ERP, assign the product version of SAP ERP, not SAP ECC."
I am supposed to change the leading product version to ERP 6.0.
Now with the current definition of system with product version SAP ECC 6.0, it is being used in a logical component. In order to change this I need to delete the associated logical component. The problem is -this logical component is being used in more than one Project definition that has huge documentation associated with them.
    My question -
will the deletion of current logical component affect my documentation in any way?
How can I change the product version from SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP ERP 6.0 without affecting the current setup?
    Regards
    Dhiraj

    Hello Warren,
    Thanks for the suggestion.
I have already taken care of all the suggested notes in the master note that you suggested. I am able to generate the XML file for other solution defined in my system. In those I have my ECC system defined purely as ERP 6.0 system. I am not able to make out why its not generating the XML for this solution.

  • MRP Scheduling with a material with multiple production versions scrap rate

    Greetings all.
I have a problem with MRP scheduling.  How do you account for different loss rates or scrap rates on a material because of multiple versions of a material that are in production.  For example, we have an item.  There are two differen ways to make that item and both have different loss rates or scrap rates.  How do we account for this.  And whatt happens when you have these with multiple routings.  Thanks.

    Dear,
It can be handled in 3 ways.
1st way - Create 2 versions to represent 2 ways of production. Create a 3rd version name it as total and make it as a first version so that MRP will take this version for scheduling. In total version give the most correct scrap qty and timming in routing. Hence when you run MRP system will consider the total version, then change the varsion in planned order as per your requirement.
Second way - Create 2 version and if you are using Demand planning, in MD61 against the qty represent the version number so that when youn run MRP, the planned order will carry the version.
3rd way - Create 2 Production version and create a quota arrangement and assihgn these two Production version as Quota items and give the % share. Hence when youn run MRP system will share the demand qty into two different version as per Quiota arrangement(setting in MRP2 is necessary fir planning).
Please come back which one you are looking for so that we can give furthur information

  • Automatic Production Version Selection

    Dear All,
There are two production versions 0001 and 0002 for a finished material. When I create production order from planned order it automatically selects version 0001. If I want it to select version 0002 automatically what should I do?
    Regards
    Hammad

    Hi Hammad,
As per your querry, you want production version 0002 should be selected automatically when you create production order instead od PV 0001. If you want PV 0002 should be selected automatically then,
    1. Maintain lot size of of PV 0002 to quantity which you usually use for the production. So when you create production order system will use PV0002 based on lot size.
    2. Or change validity period of PV0001 to a date which is outside the planning period. So it will be no longer valid in the period in which you are creating production order.
    3. As specified by experts, you can change PV selection to manual by going to transaction COR4. And change selection of PV to manual selection for your order type or you can change it by going to transaction MM02. Then lock production version by selecting locked for any usuage.
Hope this resolve your issue, please reward if it is usefull.

    Avinash.

  • MRP with selected production version

    Dear PP experts,
    I have two production version
Prod. Version      From lot        To lot size        Base Qty.
       1001                      1                   100                100 Kg.
       1002                      101             9999999          400 Kg.
The batch size mentioned in the material masters are Mimimum lot size 100 Kg. and Maximum lot size as 400 Kg.
I have entered PIR in MD61 for the material for 350 Kg. Since I need planned orders selectively of 100 Kg. in MD61 I have maintained in schedule lines tab production version as 1001.
After running MD41 system creates planned orders with the production version, but the batch size is not as per the production version.
Pl. let me know what needs to be done.
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi Watson,
I can see some conflicts in your Master Data settings.
First of all you have set your Lot size ranges in Material Master Data from 100 to 400 Kg.
And your Production Versions (1001) set lot size range is 1 to 100 Kg.Which may creates conflicts.
Now your require qty is 350 kg.So as per your lot size restriction set in Material Master will force system to create one planning proposal of 350kg.I can guess you get one plan order of 350kg but due to selection made in (MD61) selected prod. version is 1001 instead of 1002.Which is again wrong
Now to make the things correct you can have below options,
    1) change Lot size restriction to 1 to 100 in Material Master. So you wil get 3 Plan orders of 100 Kg and 1 of 50 kg.
    or
    2) Instead of changing Lot size in Material Master, use quota arrangement (MEQ1).For this you have to first activate Quota arrangement in MRP 2 view of Material Master. Then go to MEQ1 and create quota for the specified period. Here you can restrict lot size at production version level.
