Inspection result to multiple batches

Hello,
For my client, I need to figure out a way to get the inspection results from QM into multiple batches. Is there a simple (standard) way to do this?
The situation is that my client produces 3 batches at once. Samples for analysis are only taken from 1 of those 3 batches. After the analyses, at the usage decision, the values need to be copied into the characteristics of all 3 batches.
Anyone can help me out with this one?

Hi,
That means you have only one inspection lot(manually created) for the production of 3 batches. But you can link only one material/one batch to an inspection lot in SAP. In your case, you can record the results for 1 batch and maintain the other batches in text field(that Inspection not required for other 2 batches).
By the way which inspectin type are you using?

  • Problems with inspection result transfer to batch classification

    Hello ,
I `m struggling with  the following problem: As result of UD I want to transfrer the inspection results to the batch class (evaluate the batch by the results of inspection). the correct batch class characteristic is assigned to the master inspection characteristic.
It works fine, but only if I maintain a material specification for the material which includes the characteristics I want to get valuated automatically.
We are using only inspection plans, we do not work with material specifications for quality inspection. In the inspection settings of the material master data only 'inspection with plan' is marked, 'material specification' we keep empty.
I do not believe that I have to maintain the material specification in order to get results  transfered - But Am I wrong?
If it is possible to get the results transferred without a maintained material specification - what is wrong with my settings? what do I need to change in order to get the process running well without that material specification nobody wants to maintain?
Thanks in advance for all helpful hints.
    Kurt

    Hi
Go to QCC0>Basic Setting>Setting at plant level--->select plant ->Inspection lot completion->Batch valuation without material spec
    check indicator.
If you set this indicator, a link between the master inspection characteristics and the class characteristics for the batch class must exist when an inspection lot is created, for batch valuation to occur when the usage decision or inspection point valuation is made. A link within the material specification is not required.
If you do not set this indicator, batch valuation only occurs when the usage decision or inspection point valuation is made, if a link using the material specification exists between the master inspection characteristics and the class characteristics for the batch class. In this way, you can control on a material-dependent basis whether the batch characteristics are valuated based on the inspection results.

  • QM Inspection results transfered back to batch

    Experts,
after taking a usage decision, I want all inspection results to be transfered back to the batch.
But if a result is out of spec, it gets a negative valuation, then I get the warning 'batch could only be partially valuated' and the result of this char is not writte back to the batch.
How can I have also the negative results recorded in the batch?
    Thx

In the batch level make sure that any value you are giving will be accepted.
    master data required
    Batch and batcth charectristics
    MIC- copay from batch charectristics
    Material specification with same MIC's.
    Quality plan with same MIC's.
In the batch charectistics make sure that the range is more tahn that in MIC so that any value is taken or in batch chereristics -check box -  aditional value allowed in value tab page is active.
With this setting you should be in the position to get the results

  • Copy the inspection  result  from one lot to multiples lots!!

    Hi SAP expert,
I want to copy the inspection  result  from one lot to multiples lots, currently i know how to setup  the copy to another lot(SAML Response from SAP ID Service ) , but  i dont know to do to multiples lot.
    ¿Someone can help me?
    Thank you

First you have to customizing the functionality of Copy of Inspection Results using the following path, where you have to entry the inspection types, plant .etc., where you want to have the functionality.
SPRO -> Quality Management -> Quality Inspection -> Make Settings for Copy of Inspection Results
Then when you are in Record Result screen you select Menu -> Edit -> Copy Inspection Results ,
then a pop-up window is displayed and you filled in with the inspection lot which has the results and then another pop-up window is displayed to select the characteristics that you want to copy.

  • One inspection lot for multiple materials of purchase order line items

    Hi All,
My client requirement is one inspection lot for multiple materials of purchase order line items.
    Please share your thoughts.
Thanks in advance for early reply.
    Regards,
    Jishu

    I totally agree with Amol.
I don't think I would touch that development nor would I ever tell a client it could reliably be done through development.
Knowing what I know about the table structures, I don't think you could create any development for this that could use a significant amount of the existing tables and functionality.  I think you'd have to create all your own Z tables and basically rebuild the functionality.  Tying it back in with SAP data will be difficult.
You're even looking at all custom screens for your results recording and UD as well.  And if you have follow-on functions like batch classification requirements, batch determination, COA publication, results copy functions, use of DMR and sampling procedures, physical samples, quality notifications, etc. etc.. you could be looking a whole lot of development.

  • Reg: Copying inspection results from inspection( 04) to inspection type (!0

    Dear Friends ,
I have configured for Quality certificate.
At the time of delivery , the system will create an inspection lot.
To make delivery we need to carry out RR and UD once again.
Can we copy inspection results of inspection type (04) to inspection type 10 , as we are maintaining  the same results of inspection type (04). Also can we sit as background whenever a lot is created with lot origin(10) , automatically it has to copy the results from inspection  type 04 .
    Thanks in advance.

    HI Dear,
As you said  , it is for COA.
And the materials are not batch manged.
Is there any possibility  of copying the results of 04 inspection lot to inspection type 10 lot  , which is created at the time of PGI.
Because untill and unless RR and UD is made sales people will be not able to  make the delivery . if there are multiple lots , it takes
time for them to carry out RR and UD.
    Thanks for your reply!!!

  • Using inspection plan in multiple plants

    Hi,
I would like to use one inspection plan in multiple plants. Are there any disadvantages or pitfalls? (besides the fact that if I use workcenters, the same workcenters must exist in all plants using the plan)
    Marcus.

I love to use material specs.  They can be used alone or in conjunction with a plan.
There are several reasons why plans must be used in certain situations.
Dynamic modification is one of the big ones.  You can only use DMR in inspection plans.
You also need plans to work with PRT assignments.
Security based on workcenters.  Some plants require that only certain techs or personnel perform certain inspections.  And the people who can do results recording is strictly monitored.  This is especially true for those using SAP in the Pharm and food industries.
Using calculated characteristics.  These can only be taken advantage of if your use inspection plans.
Enginerring change management.  Plans can used ECM to track and document changes.  Another big requirment in Pharma and food.
If a material spec is used it is an all or nothing situation.  In many places, there might be 20 or 30 characteristics on a given material spec.  If you inspect by material spec then all the characteristics in the material spec are copied into the inspection lot.  If you inspect in conjunction with a plan, any characteristics that don't match up with an inspection plan characteristic are appended to the last operation of the plan.
Since in many places, inspections are done at various stages, or maybe derived from batch derivation, they often want to pick and choose what tests get performed at what inspection.  A good example would be 03 and 04 lots.  Many places might test some characteristics via the 03 inspection that get the tests from the routing/receipe.  If the test is done in a later operation, there may not be any need to repeat the test in the 04 inspection lot.  Using a material spec, they wouldn't have that flexibility.  Anther example are 09 recurring inspections.  Many companies may only inspect a certain subset of characteristics to requalify the material at reinspection.
Capturing costs for specific testing must use an inspection plan.  (yes, you can use general QM order in the material master if you want, but the operation header of a plan has various values and settings for working with costs)
And now in 6.0, if you want to use the multiple spec functionality, you have to use inspection plans.
If you integrate with EH&S and maintain specs in EH&S then EH&S can create and update all the inspection plans as changes are made.  But not material specs.
I think I hit some of the big reasons,  I'm sure others can probably come up with ones I've missed.

  • Quality Certificate Issue with multiple batchs with same delivery note

    Hi,
    Hi,
    My Company Business Process:
Quality certificates are generated prior to the good receipt through IDOC process.
When we  receive the goods, GR should look for existing quality certificates and trasnfer the inspection results to inspection lot.
When we are trying to receive for single batch & delivery note, It is looking for existing quality certificates. There is no problem in this senario.
But when we receive the multiple batchs with the same delivery note, system is generating new quality certificates. It is not looking for existing QC which got generated through IDOC process. This is the actual proble.
Note: I am not sure is standard SAP does not supprot  to receive the multiple batchs with the same delivery note or not at the time of GR. Please advise me.
    Thanks,
    Suman

In data origin in certificate profile SAP supports " mix the origins within a characteristic. For example, the results data can originate from an inspection and the specification data can originate from batch determination."
Now here question arises Is batch determination of one batch or multiple bacthes took place against a single delivery note.
As per my understnading it should be one batch with is supported in std SAP.

  • Inspection values overwritten in batch

    Hi,
Using sample management multiple samples are recorded for a particular
inspection lot. Values are recorded against the same inspection
characteristics in the inspection lot. Inspection characteristics are
linked to class characteristics. Class characteristics are set to
accept multiple values. Upon usage decision only results from the last
sample are recorded to the batch. We need the ability to have all the
recorded values written to the batch. I cannot find any setting or
configuration to facilitate multiple values from the inspection lot to
    the batch.
Does anyone have any idea how to handle this situation?
    Thanks,
    David

    Dear Ajay,
From your problem description, I think that you are using a full update into your ODS 0FIA_DS13, the reason why new values are overwriting the old ones. You need to use delta update to conserve the changes.
To elaborate my answer as regards the ANLP table, you need to elaborate on the king of infosource you are using (standard/specific).
If you this anwer helps you in any way, do allot points.
    Thanks

  • Skip lot across multiple batches for same material

    Hi,
I am looking for a way to control skip lots across multiple batches for the same material.
We need to do a quality check in production after a certain quantity produced (on a machine, for a material). My idea was to do skip lots (for GR)  until we reach a threshold (say 10.000 pcs) and then do an inspection for the next GR for that material.
Any ideas how to set that up?
    Thanks for any hint

    Hi mergler,
Ref to your query pls check this link Stock Posting for Skip Lots

  • QM inspection result reports

    Experts,
How come there is never any data for QM reports such as MCXA, MCXB, MCXD, MCXI although inspection lots are available in the system?
Is there another report that I can use to see inspection results in a table layout, e.g. list of batches on one axis, list of characteristics on another and the results?
    Thanks!
    Rgds

Sure you can.  Simply add some of the standard characteristics to the batch class that SAP provides.
LOBM_APO_SL_MAX     Max shelf life/maturity in sec
LOBM_APO_SL_MIN     Min shelf life/maturity in sec
LOBM_APO_SL_UTC     Reference time stamp of batch
    LOBM_BPRIO     Stock determination: priority
    LOBM_BWTAR     Valuation type
    LOBM_HERKL     Country of Origin
LOBM_HSDAT     Date when batch was produced
LOBM_KRT     waiting period of a batch
    LOBM_LFDAT     Batch determin. delivery date
    LOBM_LGORT     Storage location
    LOBM_LVORM     Deletion ind. for batches
    LOBM_MBDAT     Material availability date
    LOBM_MENGE     Batch determination sort qty
LOBM_QNDAT     Next insp. date for batch
    LOBM_QSCORE     Qualityscore Usage Decision
LOBM_RLZ     Remaining shelf life for batch
LOBM_RLZ_PROZ     Req. remaining rntme in proc.
    LOBM_UDCODE     Usage Decision
    LOBM_VERAB     Availability date
    LOBM_VFDAT     Expiration date, shelf life
    LOBM_ZUSTD     Status of batch
Not all of these are suitable to add to the batch class.  Some are designed strictly for batch search strategy classes.  There are several OSS notes out there on the use of these.  As you can see, several of these are date related.  I usually always add LOBM_HSDAT, LOBM_UDCODE,and LOBM_VFDAT.
As you can see, the Batch number is not in the list of standard characteristics.  This can be created however.  Create a general characteristic with reference to table MCH1, field nanme CHARG and add this characteristic to your classes.  You can then use it to search and sort for specific batches just like any other characeristic in CL30n.  When displayed, the field is greyed out from user entry since it is a referenced field.

  • Copying Inspection results from inspection lot.

    Dear All,
Please explain me the process of copying inspection results in QM. Following is my clients requirement:
During receiving inspection they receive the same material in say 10 batches (coils). They want to create the independent batch for  each coils of same material for tracking mechanism, so I  don't have any option to generate that many number of lots.
Out of this 10 lots, say there are 2 masters (mother coils). Means there are two set of characteristics only which i need to copy for 5 lots each.
As I  learn from SDN, EA - PLM  need to be activated . But I don't know what are the  adverse effects of activating  same.
    Please explain me the process.
    Best Regards.
    Shekhar Mokashi

    Hi Shekhar,
Refer the OSS note 855959 - Activation of Extension Sets via SPRO not successful.
I think all your doubts regarding to this Enhancement package will get resolved.
The big warning is given there in that note itself about implementing the EA-PLM enhancement is.....
Once an Enterprise extension set has been activated, it cannot be de-activated by de-selecting the option in the SPRO or otherwise, because BC Set activations cannot be undone.
Appart from that note refer the document for
    Release Notes
    SAP ERP Corporate Services
SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP ERP 6.01.
the link for the same is pasted here FYI.

Even after this much stuff completion, you don't have your doubt cleared up then I would advice you to ask the question in [ SAP Enhancement Packages|/community [original link is broken]; forum.
Regards with lots of good luck wishes.

  • SAP QM Result recording - Copy inspection results functionality

    Dear all,
    I have two queries.
    1) The Raw materials used in various plants are same. I want to copy the inspection results to the inspection lot if the batch is already accepted in other plant. The material, batch and vendor is common point. Some of the characteristics are caluculated characteristics. How to map this requirement.
    2) I want to test the standard functionality for copy results but in my system, the settings for copy inspection results is not appearing in quality inspections in SPRO. I want to confirm whether I am missing some other setting.
    Regards,
    Manohar

    Hello Jessica,
you could try the following bapis:
    BAPI_INSPCHAR_GETRESULT
    BAPI_INSPCHAR_SETRESULT
Although the desired functionality was actually implemented in higher releases.
    Hope this helps you.

  • QM: Copying inspection results to another lot

    Experts,
has anyone experience with automatic copying closed inspection results from one inspection lot to another one?
    Rgds

Having seen some of your other postings and queries I'm wondering if your issue can't be solved by batch derivation or batch characteristic inheritance?  These are available in 6.0.  Not sure of your version.  By using these functions, you can avoid creating a lot of your inspection lots possibly.
You can read up on these at:
