Inspection type 09 process

Hi gurus,
Could any one let me know the steps for using inspection type 09.
Regards,
Deven

Hi,
Pls. find the necessary details for Inspection type 09 ( Recurring Inspection of Batches) as following:
Recurring Inspections for Batch Materials
Purpose
The system can automatically create inspection lots at predefined intervals for selected batch materials. You can plan such inspections by having the system monitor the date for a recurring inspection.
Recurring inspections are triggered by a report that you can execute manually or that the system can execute automatically (provided it has been planned as a background job). When recurring inspections are triggered automatically, the background job executes the report, which in turn selects the batches and creates the inspection lots according to your processing parameters.
The report does not consider, for example, storage locations with HU requirement. This means that the report cannot be used to generate inspection lots for storage locations that require HUs. Therefore, recurring inspections are not possible.
Instead, the Business Add-In (BAdI) implementation BIC_REC_INSPECTION is available via the Batch Information Cockpit for the BAdI BIC_FOLLOW_UP_ACTION. This BAdI implementation allows you to open recurring inspection lots.
Prerequisites
The system creates inspection lots automatically for recurring inspections if the following conditions have been met:
·        Each material to be inspected is defined as a batch material in the material master record.
·        An inspection interval is specified in the Quality Management view of the material master record.
·        An inspection type is active for inspection lot origin 09 in the inspection settings of the material master record.
·        The inspection settings in the material master record specify an inspection using a task list or material specification (if you want to record results for inspection characteristics).
A Next inspection date is specified for the batch in the batch master.
If you intend to trigger a recurring inspection manually, you have defined your parameters for the recurring inspection in the corresponding report.
To trigger a recurring inspection automatically, you have:
¡        Defined your parameters in the report program for a recurring inspection
¡        Saved the report as a variant
¡        Planned the variant as a background job
Process Flow...
       1.      A recurring inspection is triggered:
¡        Automatically by the system via a background job
¡        Manually by the user under Logistics ® Quality Management ® Quality Inspection ® Worklist ® Inspection Lot Creation ® Deadline Monitoring ® Trigger Manually
       2.      The system selects the batches that meet the selection criteria.
       3.      The system processes the selected batches on the basis of your parameter settings in the report as follows:
Set Indicator
What you should know
Only lot creation
The system creates inspection lots for the selected batches when the next inspection date is within the opening period.
In a second run, the stocks are posted to inspection stock or the batches are blocked when the next inspection date is reached. This two-step process permits you to keep the stocks available as long as possible, while allowing you to begin the inspection.
To insp. stock at lot creation
The system creates inspection lots for the selected batches when the next inspection date is within the opening period. When the inspection lots are created, it posts the batch stock to inspection stock. If an inspection lot already exists, the stocks are also posted to inspection stock and the inspection lot is updated accordingly.
Block batch at lot creation
The system creates inspection lots for the selected batches and blocks the batches by changing their status to "restricted." If the batch status management function is not active, the stock is posted to blocked stock.
To insp. stock at inspection date
The system posts the batch stock to inspection stock when the next inspection date is reached. If an inspection lot already exists, the system updates the existing inspection lot. If a lot does not exist, the system creates one.
Block batch at inspection date
The system blocks the batch when the next inspection date is reached. If the batch status management function is not active in your plant, the stock is posted to blocked stock.
       4.      When the system creates the inspection lots, it also carries out the following activities:
                            a.      It assigns an inspection specification to the inspection lot.
                            b.      It creates or updates the quality level for the material (if applicable).
                            c.      It calculates the sample size.
                            d.      It prints out the inspection instruction and/or sampling-drawing instruction
Hope this helps.
Reward if useful.

  • In-Process Inspection material having inspection type 04

    Dear Sir/Mam
My question.In-Process Inspection material having inspection type 04.As we accept the inspection lot we put the stock into unrestricted. But when we have to reject we convert that stock into new material or if rework to be carried out,the criteria is stock should be quality, than production people cancel the confirmation and rework is carried out through trigger point. So my concern can we put the stock in block and in background whole production order is cancelled.
    Thanks
    kunal

    Dear Kunal
This is the process i have defined for rework. let me know your feedback
1.Reject the material in QA32 to block stock
2.Reverse faulty material using Tcode MB1A u2013 262 movement type against the production order
3.if you need to scrap highly faulty materials   use Tcode MB1A u2013 551 movement type against a cost centre
4.Create a rework order using Tcode Co01 order type (PP03)
5.Enter the Parent production order number in the goods receipt tab in Co01. (inbound delivery)
6.Issue goods against the rework order using MIGO
7.confirm the rework order through co11n
8.Move the material back from block to quality using Tcode MB1B u2013 349 movement type (activate 08 inspection)
    9.Inspection lot created
    10.Do the posting accordingly

  • Inspection type 04 should not generate Insp.lot for specific Process orders

    Hi Guyes,
I Want to skip the Inspection lots generation for specific process orders of a particular material during Goods Reciept and stock should be directly posting in to Un-restricted stock.
In the material master assigned with Inspection type 04.
Please advise me the possible options to map this scenario.
    regads,
    Rao

    In  QDR1
    stage 10-click on insp stage
    stage 10
    no. of insp : 5
    new insp stage : 20
    rej : 1
    new insp stage : 10
stage 20 - tick on skip
    stage 20
no. of skip : say "5"
    new insp stage : 10
    rej : 1
    new insp stage : 10
Now use this DMR in Header of inspection plan of material of process order.
what this will do is after 5 inspections it will skip the next 5 inspection lots.
    Make sure :
You can maintain setting for "maximum skip duration in plant level.
In QM view click on Skip & auto UD
Create variant in QA16 & run through QA17
Here in QA17 maintain the duration after which you want to take UD
Also make sure that in selected set maintain stock posting proposal for unrestricted.

  • Set preferred inspection type checkbox with mass processing

    Hi all,
I have a requirement for processing the "Preferred inspection type"-indicator in the QM-view of the mateiral master (Field APA from table RMQAM) with some kind of mass processing tool like for instance LSMW.
I have used QA08 for creating the inspection types in the materials, now i need to indicate the preferred inspection type which is not possible with QA08.
My issue is i do not see any standard objects in LSMW that can do this and i cannot find any standard MASS transactions which can help me.
    Please help!
    Kind regars,
    Dag

    It is possible with QA08.
In QA08, enter your criteria.  Then if you click on the tab Mass Processing, enter in the inspection type, then when you click on execute, the pop-up window of the settings comes up.  Here you can click on the preferred tick-box for the inspection type.  Once you do so, click the green check mark and you'll get a list of materials that met the criteria you enterred on the initial screen.  Select the ones you want to change, (or click on Select all icon), then click on Save icon.
Your materials should be updated with the preferred status.  No need for LSMW.

  • How To delete Inspection type permanently  in Mass processing?

    Hi SAP gurus,
I have activated an inspection type 04. Later i found that tis particular inspection type is not useful for me. Using qa08 i deactivated this particular inspection type. But still materials goes to Quality Inspection (QI). But i want materials to go to Unrestricted Use directly. How to delete this inspection type permanently in mass processing.. Or please say me a other solution to make material go to Unrestricted use..
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Paul..
Yes i deactivated the inspection type after production is created. You have said that the inspection is still in "Q". Please say me how to find this. Another thing is, i found another option to send it to unrestricted. When doing GR, i selected stock type as Unrestricted. Since 04 inspection type is deactivated, its now going directly to unrestricted even after the production order is created before deactivation.
Thanks a lot for your help.

  • In-process inspection in repetitive mfg-  Inspection type - 13

    Hi there,
Can any one please tell me what is the differrence between the inspection type -03 & 13.
As per my understanding the only diff is that 03 is used in discrete mfg & 13 in repetitive mfg...
what is the other differrence ........??
    Regrads
    Kaushik

    Hello Kaushik,
actually you have already found out that 03 is for descrete and 13 for repetive manufacturing. What is the difference?
03 Descrete Manufacturing : Limited production numbers and can be assigned to a customer order. Example: A computer built with various extras (built to order).
Accordingly inspection plans and inspection points assigned can be configured rather freely.
13 Repetitive Manufacturing: Production lines produce the same product in an unlimited number over a longer period of time. Example: Screws M8 x 40 mm (Mass production). In this case inspection plans need a relation to either time, numbers etc.
I hope that this information answers your question.

  • Mass creation of Inspection types

    Dear QM gurus
How to create the inspection types in mass processing?
For example I have to assigne  inspection type 05 for 100(with activation of Inspection Type indicator) materials (the material masters are already created )
is there any method?Without using BDC or LSMW can i do it by MASS or MM17?
    Thanks

  • Activating Inspection type with QI stock

    Hi QM Gurus,
I want to activate Inspection Types 01, 05, 08, 09 and 89 for a material. I already have stock for 2 batches for this mateiral in QI. I tried activating Inspection Type 01using t-code QA08. I entered the Plant and Material and ticked 'Assignn Inspection type' and 'Activate despite insp. stock' on the Activate insp. type tab of this transaction but the system gives an error 'Mats. with insp. stock'. I even tried by ticking on the 'Create Change Documents' option but in vain
I also tried the Individual processing and Mass processing tabs of QA08 but faced same issue.
Please tell me how to activate inspection types for this material.
    Regards,
    Manish Saraswat.

    Hi Manish,
Thanks a lot for your inputs. Right now the only Inspection Type which is active for this material is 89. I want to activate 01, 05, 08 and 09. As I said earlier I have stock for 2 batches in QI and there are no Inspection Lots for these batches as no Inspection Types are active.
I checked and found that InspTypeForInspStock doest has any value. Its blank.
Please advise whether the system will allow me to activate the mentioned Inspection Types.
    Regards,
    Manish Saraswat.

  • Temporary bypass of auto assignment of Inspection type

I have checked 'auto assignment' in QM master data view.  My goods receipts are generating inspection lots with 01 inspection type.  This is all good.  Is it possible to trick the system not to assign the inspection type in certain cases even though 'auto assignment ' is setup ?  If this is possible I would like to use this to model an ad-hoc first article inspection as required by my client.

    Hello FF,
I tested your suggestion of creaing multiple plans and tricking system not to assign any inspection plan.  It worked. I have multiple inspection plans for Prelim series( say 501 usage) and one '01' for normal incoming quality inspection.  When a Vendor calls the buyer and cautions that next shipment has some process changes/tool changes/new raw material introdcued etc., some at Client site has to modify the QIR to put in Prelim status.  At the time of GR, system gets confused on which 501 plan to assign and leaves the assignment open in the insp. lot.  Then manually QI inspector has to assign the plan knowing the vendor's caution.  Again, Gagesh question of how change being communicated is not anwered here.  But I may propose an enhancement in the PO screen( a check box may be) that buyer puts in after receiving communication from Vendor.  This flag may run a program to put the QIR status to Prelim status.  Lets see how it goes.  My question is answered.  Thanks to you all for inciteful help.  Points goes to FF for the 'Idea'.

  • Inspection type 03 and 04

    hello Experts
I want to use inspection type 03 and 04 for produced materials. 03 for in-process inspection and 04 for Goods receipt inspection.
My Question is , do I need to use Preferred inspection type  indicator in QM view. Is there an issue if I do not use that indicator.
For insp type 03 lot should be created at order release and for 04 lot should be created at receiving the order.
    Many Thanks.

    Hi
    Gaurav
No Actually you nedd not to select the preffered Inspection type Indicator in QM view.....
Reason is as you said 03 is inprocess Inspection--->lot is created when production order is released.
this lot is not stock relevent.(no stock posting tab in QA11/QA32)
Now 04 is Production order-->lot is created when production order is confirmed.
    this lot is stock relevent.
So both are created at different stages so need not to worry.
I hope i have made you understand in simple language.

  • Inspection type problem

    Hi Sap Gurus,
I copied 01 inspection type to Z013 inspection type and followed the following procedure. But while posting MIGO inspection lot is not getting created and stock is updating in unresticted use stock. But same material with 01 inspection type inspection lot is getting created. I donot know where i did the mistake. Is there any setting in MM of this?
    Procedure followed:
    1) Assigned inspection type in material master with active key
In customization I maintained the following procedure
    1) Maintain task list usage - SPRO> QM> Quality Planning > Inspection Planning> General> Define task list usages
    2) Maintain inspection type - SPRO> QM> Quality Inspection > Inspection Lot Processing > Inspection Lot Creation > Maintain inspection types (for eg Z013) -  maintain the task list usage here
    3) Maintain Quality inspection lot origins and assign inspection types - SPRO> QM > Inspection Lot Processing > Inspection Lot Creation > Maintain inspection lot origins and assign inspection types
    4) Define default values for inspection type - SPRO > QM> Quality Inspection > Inspection Lot Processing > Inspection Lot Creation > Define default values for inspection type
    Regards
    Krishna

    Hi,
It has got nothing to do with the MM settings. Please try the following :
    1.Set Preferred Inspection Type
In the QM view of the Material Master, tick the Preferred Inspection Type Check box for Inspection   Type  Z013.
    2.Set Default Inspection Type
In Spro --> QM --> Q.Inspection --> Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types. For Lot 01,Var 01 ( Default Inspection Type Variant 01 ) for the Z013 Inspection type you have created.
The reason behind this is that the system must determine which inspection type to use from -
    Default inspection type
    Preferred inspection type
If you set the indicator for the preferred inspection type, but the corresponding indicator for activating the inspection type is not set, the system uses the default inspection type
If the indicator for the preferred inspection type is not set and several inspection types are active in the material master, the system uses the default inspection type.
Besides this; cross check following points:
    1. Spro --> QM --> Q.Inspection --> Maintain Inspection Type : Exact copy of Inspection Type 01
    2. Spro --> QM --> Q.Inspection --> Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types. Include Z013 in the Inspection types for the Origin 01
    3. Spro --> QM --> Q.Inspection --> Define Default value for inspection Type. Include Z013 as a copy of 01
    4. In spro --> QM --> QM in Logistic --> QM in Procurement -->Define control Key
Check the Control key which is assigned the QM view of MM.It should not have Control key as 9999 which has GR Inspection Control as "Do not create Inspection Lot"
    5. Check the Q- Info Record, check if due to Exisiting QM system is flagged for no Inspection
    6. Check for Self Certified QM systems assigned Q-Info Record in spro --> QM --> QM in Logistic --> QM in Procurement --> Define QM Systems  (Tick as Certified Systems requiring no Inspection)
    Hope this resolves,
    Thanks,
    RKM.

  • Qm order- inspection type 03

For in-process quality inspection for production order (inspection type 03), how is the appraisal cost (ie. cost associated with activities like labour, material, equipment) captured. Can quality order be created for this inpection type?
Also, how are the non-conformity cost captured?

    Amit,
If you want QM costs to be captured seperately you could create an internal order for this specific purpose. Accumulate the cost on this order and settle the internal order to the different production orders.
This would be required if there are QM costs incurred which may not be pertaining to a single PO. Also clients may want to capture the costs separately and view them.
For internal order creation refer your CO counter part.
    Hope this is useful.
