INSPECTOR HUD absolutely not working

Wow.... this is frustrating. I am using Aperture 3.1.
Suddenly, without reason, the Inspector HUD simply does not work in as follows:
a. When I first open Aperture, no problem bringing up the IHUD with "H" (as it should).
b. When I go into fullscreen mode, NO MORE IHUD. Pressing "H" briefly highlights the Menubar but NO IHUD. This is not, however, consistent. SOMETIMES the HUD works, mostly it does not (changes on reboot - if it works once, it works until I close out and rerun Aperture.
c. Single 27" i7 iMac with loads of RAM, OS 10.6.5
Never saw this screwy behaviour before. I did go ahead and rebuild my Aperture Database with no change in the screwy iHUD behaviour.
Anyone know what's up here??

I'd be curious to learn if this happens most frequently when you just start Aperture. Then, after Aperture has been running for a little while, the HUD performs as snappy as it should.
This happens a lot if you have a large number of presets loaded into Aperture. I was noticing the same thing and noticed that if I remove all but my most used presets, the HUD performs very snappy.
From what I've been told, Aperture must load into memory all of the presets each time you start Aperture. But, it seems to wait to do so when you select the HUD. Thus, allowing for faster launching of Aperture.

Clip inspector in imovie not working properly - when I select a picture (in project library) - and select clip adjustment it tells me that I need to select one or more clips to view Inspector tools and when I select a movie clip and then click on audio adjustments the audio adjustment appears as a speaker icon and I don't know how to get to the various audio options? It was working fine one minute and then I seemed to lose the functionality. Also editing a photo in a photo or getting rid of ken burns effect etc does not seem to work. help

Can anyone shed any light on this as I am having the same problem? One minute it works fine, the next you get the error message above.

Show inspector more info not working

I recently upgraded to Lion and I notice that when I use the "Show Inspector" to view information on multiple files with one Info window is not working properly. In Snow Leopard as I clicked on different image files the "More Info" section would show image sizes. Now in Lion it doesn't show anything but a line "-". As I click on different images it doesn't show anything in the "More Info" section. Can any body help me with this? Has this function changed some how in Lion?

I'll answer my own question then :-p
It seems that when you change the library view options to sort manually then you no longer get the information popup (which makes sense). Changing back to date or album view brought back the info.
FYI.

I installed Firefox version 10.0 and now it is absolutely not working. What do I do to fix this?

I upgraded my firefox from 9.01 to 10.0 and now it is completely screwed up. When I click on the Firefox icon I get this message:
Error: Platform version '9.01' is not compatible with
minVersion > = 10.0
maxVersion < = 10.0
I use firefox on a Windows Vista every single day of my life, so for this not to work is a serious problem to me.
I tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, but that did not work.
Please help me figure this out.

If using Zone Alarm's browser virtualization or any other similar product or a sand-boxing program (i.e., Sandboxie), turn it off when updating Firefox or Firefox Add-ons. You can post on the forum for any such product that you might be using to get other instructions on the proper use of the product.

Email absolutely not working!

Hi,
I have 2 @live.ca email account and 1 email account associated with my domain name.
For the last 6 months, these 3 email accounts where set up on my Iphone and everything was great...
Then about 1 week ago, I only received email but couldn't SEND emails from any of my accounts anymore... I did a bit of research online and someone said delete the account and reset them up, so I did that...
but now NOTHING WORKS! I have all the right info (account name, password, etc.) and I keep getting all kinds of message like "user name or password is wrong" or Server is not responding, check your connection" I am freaking out!! I have been crewing around with this for 2 days and nothing works!!
Does someone have a similar problem?? or is it just me?

Have you checked that your iPhone internet connection is working in both directions (e.g. try posting a tweet or Facebook update or something)

Backslash absolutely not working in terminal

Hello to everyone,
On my Swiss keyboard I get a backslash with option-shift-7 (" \ ") in ALL applications correctly, except in the terminal.
It just will not accept the key combination. Nothing happens. I've looked everywhere and tried everything to fix this, but I just cannot find a solution. I've even installed the iTerm application: same problem exactly!
My setup: OsX 10.7.5, Swiss-french keyboard. Where can I set this up?

OK. I got it! What a joy when one discovers the source of a problem.
My .inputrc reads:
set input-meta on
set output-meta on
set convert-meta off
\e[1;5D": backward-word
\e[1;5C": forward-word
If I deactivate .inputrc I can type in a backslash with option-shift-7 correctly.
I'll work on which line exactly is causing the problem.

IWeb 09 absolutely not working 4 me

Hi...
Just installed my brand new iLife 09. All aps working - accept iWeb. Opens up - asks me to name/save a new site. After that: Nothing! No template-choosing - no nothing!
This is strange... Any sugestions ?

I spent the better part of 2.5 hours on the phone Apple Support and the iWeb product support folks because I couldn't publish pages or the app would not recognize my page files. The Apple folks were able to replicate the issues (which you think they might have done BEFORE the launch, but I digress) and the only work around was to move my domain file (Library > App Support > iWeb > domain drag to desktop) to the desktop, then launch iWeb from there.
Even then, we (me and my new best friend at Apple) had to make page changes before the site would publish. Even so, my blog is all messed up and the app itself is very unstable. It has quit unexpectedly at least five times in the past hour.

Property inspector not working correctly

The property inspector in CS3 is not working correctly. When
I select text or any other object the property inspector does not
change for that object. But when I right mouse click on the
selected object it does. Do I need to change a setting?

If I right-click or double-click on an item the property
inspector shows it, but if I single click, nothing happens. It's

Inspector not working... weinre: target not connected

Whe I try to connect to my iPhone 3G with Edge Inspect, the Inpsect app on the iPhone shows the mirror of the browser on my Desktop machine, but when I click on the < > button, the inspector window launches, but instead of the link to the device being shown I get Devices: none and the title in the top of the windaw says weinre: target not connected.
I have waited for for the spinning icon at the top of the app on the iPhone to stop spinning, but the inpsector window still does not connect.
Some info:
Remote device: iPhone 3g
Local device: Mac OS X 10.7.5
Local browser: Chrome version 22.0.1229.92
I have also tried connecting to an iPad 2 and it all works brilliantly. Edge Inspect is a great tool, but I am frustrated that the connection to my iPhone is not working. It was the same when it was Shadow

Hi Jules, sorry to hear you're having an issue too. The problem with trying to figure this out is that the problem is almost certainly some configuration on your machine or network and that's extremely difficult to solve remotely.
Here are some suggestions for other things to try, let me know what happens for each as it may give me some clue what's wrong. If you see something you think is wrong, please be as descriptive and complete as possible... screenshots can definitely be helpful.
In Chrome, go to http://debug.edgeinspect.adobe.com/ and tell me what you see there
Does it make a difference if you test a different page? Give http://google.com a try and see if you get a different-looking weinre window.
Are you testing content from localhost? If so, try taking Edge Inspect out of the loop and see if that changes anything...
Put this script tag into your web page: <script src="http://debug.edgeinspect.adobe.com/target/target-script-min.js#moretti"></script>
Reload the page in Chrome.
In a new browser tab/window go to http://debug.edgeinspect.adobe.com/client/#moretti
Does that get you a working weinre window?
If so, load the page in the native browser on your device (you'll need to use your computer's IP address instead of localhost) and on your computer refresh the /client#moretti window
Does that work? (NOTE: you can use any identifier after the hash as long as it's the same in both your script tag and the URL you input)

Absolute links on hml page in local directory not working

All the absolute links on my html pages (which are on my hardrive) are being treated as local links and are therefore not working - i.e. Firefox is adding the local file path before the url. For example, the original link is: http://www.insidehousing.co.uk/legal/criminal-conviction-for-illegally-subletting-tenant/6518844.article
But Firefox is adding the directory path so the url string becomes: /www.insidehousing.co.uk/legal/criminal-conviction-for-illegally-subletting-tenant/6518844.article%E2%80%9D
It is also being appended with: %E2%80%9D (which, when tested from a Word page, leads to site but generates page not found error).
For testing purposes, is there any way I can reconfigure Firefox to parse my links as absolute?

Thanks, both. I have carried out cor-el's suggestion of replacing the smart quotes with dumb quotes, then tried viewing link on file again using different encoading, including UTF-16 - same result as before.

Some toggles not working in Inspector

Hi,
I'm running FCPX 10.1.3 & OS 10.9.5 and some of Final Cut Pro X's toggles in the Inspector are not working after this last update of FCPX.
Some when clicked only briefly display Show/Hide but never expand nor collapse.
The same thing happens with some of the triangles in the Inspector. The triangle pivots but nothing expands nor collapses.
I have used Digital Rebellion's Pro Suite and removed FCPX completely and installed from scratch.
I have repaired the disc permissions. Rebooted several times.
I have made another admin user account and it's doing it when logged into that account as well.
Has anyone had a similar issue and/or a possible solution?

Uninstall Adobe Reader's plug-in.
Remove the following two files from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/:
AdobePDFViewer.plugin
AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
Open Safari Preferences > Extensions. Do you see AdobePDFViewer? If yes. disable.
Log out/in and test.
Another option is to download and install this plugin. Schubert|it PDF Browser Plugin . PDF Browser Plugin 2 is free for not-for-profit activities if used at home or at educational institutions.

Color correction arrow in the inspector not working

I noticed today that my color correction arrow in the inspector is not working. I click and click on it and it doesn't show the color board. The only way to show the color board is to use the shortcut command-6 or to click below and "show color board." So I can still get to the color board but it's frustrating that the arrow will not work. The arrow does work, however, to get from the color board back to the inspector. I am using the latest version of Final Cut X. Anyone else have this issue? Would love some help!

It's the multicolored arrow in the bottom right. It has worked before today with no problems. I don't know why it just suddenly stopped working.

HT5096 This procedure absolutely does NOT work

Because of the sparse storage format of the Backups.backupdb directory, the Finder thinks the directory is much larger than it actually is. In fact, in many cases, such as mine, it thinks that it is MUCH larger than the physical drive on which it resides.
For example, I have a 1TB drive and the Time Machine directory claims to be more than 5TB. When I go to copy it over to another 1TB drive it says that it cannot execute the copy because the size is too large and there is not enough room. Although there actually is enough room.
In any case, the procedure outlined in this memo ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT WORK.

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] and see if that helps!

I installed firefox 10 - it was offered on startup. I absolutely does not work with a cloud based program I use (corecon) and I want to GO BACK TO FIREFOX 9. how do i do this?

Also, I probably should have added that I am with Vodafone, and I'm currently using the Blackberry Curve 3G (9300) on the version 5 software. I also have no access to the Internet, which is telling me I have no signal. I have full 3G signal, so there is no issue whatsoever with my signal. I don't use the BBM on the phone, so I'm not sure if the issue is affecting that also, but I assume it would.
