I just ordered a used Inspire 4.1 4400 and it only came with the power cord.What type of cables do i need so that i can get them from radioshack

Rear input become low audio if both inputs are used in Inspire 4.1 4400

Hi, I am having a problem with my creative 4 in . if you test the front input without connecting the Rear input the sound is OK and vise versa, but if you use both inputs the Rear input become low sound and the front input is ok. i check my source and there is no problem in left and right audio output. i checked the cables and interchange it also the same problem. any help is highly appreciated.

Unfortunately, you have to buy two seperate "Y" mini stereo (that's what those green and black cable jacks are called) to Left and Right RCA jacks. You use one for the Front Audio and the other for Rear Audio.
I am no sure where you are from but you should be able to buy them from local electronics and audio store such as Radio Shack, Best Buy, Circuit City and/or Fry's Electronics if you happen to be lucky enough live near one. It should not cost more than 10 dollars a piece and you should not need it to be longer than 3 feet long.

Inspire 4.1 4400 Signal Processing?

So Ive got this very nice set of speakers here I bought a while back. They are the inspire 4.1 4400's. Today was actually the first time in a long while I had them hooked up to a 2 channel source while leaving all 4 satellites connected. I had them hooked up to the living room tv which gets its signal from a digital cable box through the standard composite cables (Yellow, White, and Red). The tv does have an "enhanced sound" feature which is enabled.
But back to my original question: As a guy who drools over technical details, Im curious if these speakers have any extra signal processing when receiving a basic 2 channel signal? Because I noticed at points throughout the day where the rear satellites would sometimes sound like they are receiving different signals than the front satellites and than at other times all 4 would be identical.

Problem with Inspire 4.1 4400

Hi?I am having Inspire 4.1 4400 speakers. My pc supports 5.1 HD audio. So I bought the Inspire 4400. The pc-to-woofer connector is 2 pin connector. When I tried to connect with that, am able to hear sounds from 2 speakers and woofer. Other 2 speakers are not working. So now am planned to buy a Creative Sound Blaster Audiy Value. Is this support Inspire 4.1 4400?My motherboard itself supports 5.1, so adding Creative Sound Blaster Audiy Value, to be problem?Or how I can use my existing pc to setup 4.1 system??

well .. on normal surround systems the sound is played only on the 2 front speakers (+ center) and sub (im talking about music and normal movies). to play on all the speakers you need a surround environment something like a dvd or a surround game ... to play music and normal avi movies on all the speakers you should use a stereo x2 which ports the sound from the front speakers to the back speakers... your card might not have that option ( you could use audio spliters and put all the speakers on exit). creative sound cards have a stereo x2 as far as i know..

Creative Inspire 4.1 4400 - surround sound

Creative Inspire 4.1 4400, Can I enjoy surround sound? If yes, please tell me the way to test the surround sound from the speakers. Is there any tool or softwares to test the surround sound from the speakers?
Note: I don't have any sound card in my computer.

Does this problem only occur in certain programs? Because I have a similar problem with my sound suddenly dropping without warning. But it only happens when I'm playing music in Windows Media Player. If it does have something to do with the media player then I suspect it could be the "WOW effects plugin." I hope this helps, or at least narrows down your problem.

Creative Inspire 4.1 4400 speakers

Hi, I just bought a new set of creative inspire 4.1 4400 speakers. I haven't got a 5.1 sound card. Can I just use it as a 2.1 instead, i.e. don't connect the other 2 rear speakers?

Yup, that will work fine. Make sure you unplug the input at the speakers too (so only one input lead is connected).
You could also use a 3.5mm headphone splitter at the pc side so the front sounds come from the rear too (and put the rear speakers next to the front speakers?).

Replacement satellite for inspire 4.1 4400?

I've blown one of the satellite speakers on my 4.1 inspire 4400 system. I'm happy with it, and I'm not looking to upgrade. where can I buy just a replacement speaker for it by itself?also, on the sound card I have now has jack for a center channel speaker. could I get a stand alone speaker and plug it in there and have 5.1 sound? where can I go to buy a stand alone speaker like that? no retail stores seem to carry individual speakers.

Inspire 6.1 lost cables

so i got the inspire 6.1 6600 at a pawn shop for forty bucks and now i'm looking for the cables for it... and by the cables i mean the power cable, the input cables and the volume control. any guidance as to the best way to obtain these would be appreciated. thanks.

Inspire 5700 Digital DIN Cable

I have unfortunately broken my (9 Pin?) Digital DIN cable. I have been unable to find a cable that could replace my old one. I have had a lot of problems with my cable (no sound/noise etc.). I think those problems have occured because of the fact, that there has been some sort of loose connection.
This cable is my only way to enjoy the full 5.1 audio from my computer, for now I'm only using 4.1 through the analog cables.
I hope that it's possible to bye og replace my old cable...

Hi there, im wanting the same cable but finding it hard to track down.
Just to add, i need a 9 pin - 9 pin din to connect my creative 6.1 setup to an an external usb audigy 2 VE. Hopefully this would mean no need for the wired remote that connects to the 6.1 speakers? Can anyone confirm this?

Inspire 4.1 4400 volume control

The cord to the volume control got stuck under my desk when my son moved the desk . I was still getting a green light on the control but no sound . Using my ohm meter I traced it down to one wire ( green) not having a path on the pin of the conector to the box . It is almost but not quite a s-video connetion . Were can I get a replacment volume control

Creative Inspire 4.1 4400 Sound problem.

The volume of the speaker system tends to increase and then decreases with slightest touch of the volume control unit. At other times the volume would jump/change on it's own. I tried disconnecting the speakers and reconnecting my old set of 2-way pc speakers and they work perfectly, thereafter i reconnected the creative speakers but the problem is still there. Does anyone know what the problem could be. I am not a technical person, I just want my speakers to work fine. If it helps my PC system specs are : 1.7 ghz celeron

2 Small problems with Inspire 4400 4.1 & SB Surround 5.1 [on Vis

I just bought a Sound Blaster Surround 5. external sound card (USB), which i like to use on my laptop (HP Compaq 6820s with Vista HomePremium), together with my Creative Inspire 4. 4400 speaker set. What i did is; I installed the necassary software from the CD-Rom (for Vista of course), and after installation, I checked if everything worked. It did. I had sound from all my 4 speakers, and i was able to adjust the volume of each speaker (I forgot where that option was located, but thats not important right now). After the installtion, i did the necessary reboot, and i did the recommended software update. This update installed new drivers, but they did something strange; when i click on Creative Audi-center, it says 2. CMSS 3-D. When i click on Creative Audi-console, it says 'headphones' under the speakers. I know thus only have 2. sound
Right now, i cant change it back to 4.. I know that in the Creative Audio-console, there's an option to 'change' this. But when i change my system from 2. to 4., it doesnt do anything. If i check if I did the right thing, i found out (over n over again, no matter how often i keep changing it), my configuration is still set to 2., no matter how often i change it to 4.. So there's my first problem; i cant set my system to be a 4. system.
Second problem; i'd like to use the voume control on the SB Surround 5. console for my overall volume. When i remove the wired volume control 6pin DIN cable from my Inspire 4400 subwoofer, my sound wont work. So i still have to use the wired volume control. Also, the volume control on the SB Surround 5. doesnt work (although i can mute the sound with it). Now, al this might be logic, however, hwo is it possible to overcome this obstacle with a DIN cable? My SB Surround 5. system had 9pin DIN in the back, the subwoofer of my Inspire 4400 has a 6pin DIN cable in the back .... what can i do, to configure the volume control on my SB SUrround as my main volume control, in stead of keep using the wired volume control, which is connected to the back of my Insipre 4400 subwoofer?

PS: When i change my sound setting via Windows' Control panel -> Sound ->? Configure 2- Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit External-> Quadraphonic sound, i notice that all my 4 speaker work (i checked this via the Test button), but after that, the sound hasnt changed anything when i play my mp3's via WinAmp...

Are you referring to the Li've! 24 bit External or the X-Fi Surround 5.
I would recommend getting in touch with support for further assistance on this.

Satellite speakers not turning on in creative inspire 4400(4.1)

i have bought this creative inspire 4.1 4400 about 2 months back. speakers were good untill now but from the recent times when i turn on the speakers, sound is genenated only through woofer and no sound comes out of satellite speakers. Then if i start incresing the volume to a high level sound comes from satellite speakers suddenly and the spekers will function normally untill i turn them off.
to check whether the problem is with the sound card or the speakers, i have connected the speakers to the walkmen and the same problem occured. I have checked whether any connections are loose, but all are tight and inplace. Somebody please help me to get rid of this problem.

Audigy 2 ZS Platinum- Inspire 4.1 don't see each other after computer move

Sound Card: SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum? Driver Version 2.8
? Speakers: Creative Inspire 4. 4400
? Software: Creative Media Source 3.30
I moved my computer to another room and started having sound problems. I removed Creative Media Source 5 ( I had it when I used the creative zen mp3 player ) because I thought it was redundant on my system. My sound is now hollow and tinny. But the truth is I don't know what caused the problem to begin with since the Holidays were involved and many people were at my computer. I only want the sound to be as great as it was before.
These are my problems:
. No matter how many times I set the audio properties through the volume control icon on the taskbar, the configuration always resets to desktop stereo speakers instead of surround sound.
2. Using the Creative Speaker Settings results in information showing that there are only 2 speakers attached and they are synchronized with control panel. Under speaker calibrator it reads that there is a generic speaker system.
3. Using the calibrator Wizard, only 2 speakers show up.
4. Normally in the EAX console, the Effects tab shows many settings - but now there is nothing inside the box.
5. On the CMSS3D tab, the slider for the speakers is grayed out
6. The THX setup console on the Speaker selection tab there is nothing under the speaker selection tab - There is an analog output and a digital 48khz under digital sampling.
7. Under calibration there are only left and right front speakers the subwoofer and rear speakers are grayed out
This is what I have done to troubleshoot my problems:
. Used Auto update of card which reads that everything is updated. There are no drivers for the speakers, so that is ok.
2. Through the Creative Organizer I enabled CMSS
3. Through the Creative Audio console on the Decoder tab, I have checked use built in decoder and under speaker mapping for 4./5 using side channels
4. Under Dolby digital settings Dynamic Range is Full - Dolby Pro Logic is ON - Dolby Digital EX is ON --- DTS for Es is ON
5. Made certain all connections are secure and verified the placement of the green and black wires coming from the subwoofer are connected to my computer in the correct place, namely that the black wire is in the second hole from the firewire port and the green wire is in the third hole
Please help me if you can. I'm ready to throw in the towel, I would even buy digital speakers but don't know which way to turn. I don't know if it's the card or the speakers or the fact that I removed the Media source 5 (for which I can't find the disk.)
