Inspire 5.1 5700 - audigy 2 zs

I've got this strange issue,
I am playing warcraftIII which uses the EAX, it was working fine, until yesterday when I had to disconnect the speaker system from the computer, and when I reconnected it, the sounds in game seemed reversed (I lack the vocabulary, I'll try to explain ), I mean before the bug when an acti've unit was saying something and it was in the middle of the screen it sounded loudest, and now it sounds loudest when it's in the far corners of the screen and when it's it the middle it sounds so silent as if it was in the far end of the screen. I know it lookes a bit mixed up but perhaps someone could help me, any help greatly appreciated.

Is everything connected ok? Sounds like either your centre speaker got unplugged at some point, or you have swapped two sets around (so the front is going to the centre). Check they are firmly plugged in too, its easy to just half plug one in. Could be the speaker side connections too, so its worth checking them. I cant imagine the problem being more serious or complicated than that. Would be worth going through every connection and volume setting (both sides, at the speakers themselves, etc) just to be sure.
Might make it easier if u use the creative speaker test thing, where it goes through each speaker saying the name.
Hope im not just telling you things you already know, you seem pretty competent on the forums!

Inspire 5.1 5700 Digital system not working correctly

I have a Inspire 5.1 5700 Digital speaker system that has some issue's.
The front speakers are all that is working with center channel low volume , the Sub and Rear speakers are not working according to set-up in software , But Sub is working in games and with Music.
I had been using an MSI P67/ G43 MB onboard sound. Today I gave up and purchased a new sound card, an Audigy Rx. Installed the drivers, did the update for drivers. I was working w/ speaker set up and mic setup and I still have the same problem.
I am thinking there has been a change in the drivers or windows 7, that the controller does not recognize. I have checked all speakers and the are working.
I also am using the Optical output to the controller.

Ok , I changed it to SPDIF and it only shows 2 channel @ Hz. in the test that pops up, only 2 front speakers are activated. In Arma 3 , it seems to have 5.1 sound again now.
I used to be able to set up and test the speakers and set the front / rear balance and fade thru the software. I am un able to do that an again, the source is not Optical but SPDIF.
So, what am I doing wrong here ??

SPDIF (Sony Philips Digital Interconnect Format) basically has 2 types of connection: Optical and Coaxial. In this case, you are using an Optical connection. Hence, it is known as SPDIF Optical.
It is correct that you received 2 audio channels during speaker test via an optical connection. An alternative way is to initiate the test through the Windows audio endpoint for SPDIF Out (optical Out).
At the Sound of the Windows Control Panel, configure SPDIF Out as the default device. Click on the Properties. At the Supported Formats tab, check the box for DTS Audio or Dolby Digital. Click on the Test button to initiate the speaker test. You should able to test for the rear speakers.

ok first please tone down the font size and such, makes it very hard to read.
firstly, optical chables are very easy to get hold of, if i were you id have a look on e-bay. i got mine for about ?3, so what $5.not sure.
im not sure if this is the right thing but here might be of some use.but im not sure on the din cable, what are you trying to do?

Inspire 5.1 5700 speakers are not recognized by Win7 64 with MSI HD audio and soundblaster Cinema

I have had this speaker system since it first came out. It has worked without a hitch with many computers but this one. It is an MSI 87-gd65 Gaming system with an Intel i5, 16mb ram on Win7 Pro 64. It shows all of the drivers are working well but it will not recognize the speakers even I use the digital coax or analog outputs.
The HD audio the SB Cinema drivers are loaded with the latest drivers. Win reports them all working well. It will support headphones.
I can't remember if there is a special driver just for this system.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

All of the cables are the ones that worked with the old computer system until they were switched to this new one. All drivers are up to date. The MSI tech gave up after an hour.
The Cinema driver only allows for a 7.1 setup but shows only a two speaker graphic. The old driver on the old machine allowed me to select the speaker configuration and even test them. The speaker selection in the driver area is greyed out. The headphone selection works just fine.
I have downloaded and installed the Cinema driver from MSI twice but with the same result. The driver says it is for the win7 64.
Is there something on the Cinema driver setup that I am missing?

Digital DIN cable !!! inspire 5700+audigy 2ZS

i need help with my inspire 5700. i don't have a digital din cable (for digital connecting audigy + inspire). Support says that cable is not available. does anybody know where to get this cable (4pole digital jack to 9pole digital DIN) or how to make this cable?

I believe the DIN for soundcard are mainly built and solely used by Creative. I don't think there is any 3rd-party converter in the market to do DIN. There is a software here posted by some other users that can do AC3 encoding on the fly. Not too sure where's the post now but you can do a search for it.

I have one problem with my acoustics system and new sound card:
A little prehistory:
. I had sound card (and i still have it, only it's lie on the shelf ) Creative Life 5.
2. I used and still use acoustic system: Creative Inspire 5. Digital 5700
3. Acoustic has connected corrected and worked without problems with Life 5.
I have bought new sound card Creative X-Fi Platinum, tested it with music seems that all works fine, i like it, really exciting things, better sound them was and so on..
But when i started to test 5. with tests and games in Games Mode and so on, it does not work, because seems that all channels works in one, so when i was testing it and voice tell in left front channel it's sounds in other channels as well.
Acoustic was connect by digital and coaxial.
Maybe someone can help me please, maybe i should turn on something in the drivers?
My Computer: Abit Nforce4 KN9 Ultra, AMD Athlon AM2 3000+, Radeon x600Pro 256Mb, 024Mb RAM.

Thanks a lot for the answer. Now i improved my knowledge, because i already was in despair.
. I have connected my acoustic system and sound card via Analog cable and works only 4 channels: Front L/R and Rear L/R, without Front Center and Sub - as i understood it's correct, right?
2. When i tried to install this driver my system just buzzed and needed to Reboot computer, maybe driver does not compatible with my system.
3. Why does Creative not support Digital/SPDIF for acoustic system like my SPDIF or Digital I/O has better quality of sound then Analog, is not it's

Inspire P7800 connected to Audigy 2 Platinum

Help please. I properly (as far as the diagram shows) connected my new speakers to my existing Audigy 2 platinum sound card (not the front console but the sound card itself) but I do not seem to have the original sound card CD so downloaded the newest driver from Creative downloads and installed that. No matter what I do I can only get sound out of one speaker. What am I doing wrong?

There is only one choice. To get digital on the Z-5500, you have to use it's decoder (because you cannot turn it off). If you try to use the Audigy 2's decoder, you will get no sound. You can't send a decoded signal to another decoder.
In the Audigy 2 settings, select "spdif passthrough". This will disable the Audigy 2's decoder and just send the compressed digital signal to the Logitech Z-5500 control pod and it will then do the decoding (that's if you have the "coax" setting on in the control pod. Also make sure to have the DVD player software also set to "spdif" for the speaker selection.
You will be then be good to go. You can use the Z-5500 to switch between analog and digital (do not disconnect the 3 analog cables from the Audigy 2 to the Logitech Control Pod).

You must give us more information about the outputs from the TV, it's impossible to say anything without knowing how many outputs there are and what type. Also, the brand and model of the TV would be helpful. What you need to do to hook it all up is to check what type of connectors that are available on the source for output and then check for corresponding inputs on the speaker system. Then you have to get the correct cable with the corresponding jacks in both ends. If you don't have corresponding inputs or outputs you must look if there is any way to use a converter somewhere. Right now, any suggestion given to you would basically be a fumble in the dark because we have too little information.

Unplug the minijack connectors (orange, green, black, and gray/white) from the subwoofer's amp. Leave them connected to the soundcard. Plug the green connector into the minijact port that's meant for the rear speakers. This should make the sound meant for the front come from the rear instead.
Now play some music or run some tests. Does the Rear Left speaker work? If so, then it's a software problem. You would just have to wait for an update or you could try uninstalling the drivers (run CTZAPZZ.exe on the driver CD; in Drivers directory) and reinstalling them and the updates.
If it still does not work, then it sounds like a problem with the amplifier in the subwoofer. In this case, you'd have to return the speakers for repair.

Crative Inspire 7.1 w/ Audigy 2 Value - Subwoofer constantly rumbling, whether sound playing or not

As the message title says, my subwoofer constantly rumbles whether I have sound playing or not. If I don't have sound playing, just the subwoofer rumbles. If I do have sound playing, the sound plays normal, except the subwoofer rumbles OVER the sound. I've tried adjusting every subwoofer option I could find to no avail. The only thing that stops it is completely killing sub woofer volume, and it really sounds like crap without bass Anyone else had this problem? Anyone know a fix? It used to work fine, then this problem started up a few months ago, then it corrected itself, and now its back and I can't fix it...

If I have understood you right, then I'm afraid you have broken the subwoofer!
Several months ago, I think it was last year, somewhere in August I encountered this problem with my P580 5.1 speaker system. I was playing with too loud music and the subwoofer couldn't take it. This is were you all people have to pay ATTENTION! Just because the remote says "Level 0" on the bass volume doesn't mean that you may turn both the volum and the bass to the MAX! You will simply break the subwoofer, it cannot handle that kind of pressure. Now, how do you notice that the subwoofer is broken? Well, it may have different sounds on different systems, however my P580 had some kind of "Whhhooooo" sound.
But don't worry!!! There is always a way through this kind of problems as it is with any other problem you encounter with your speakers. If you have the receipt at your disposal and your garuantee haven't expired then you may always get a new one! But if you haven't got it, then you just contact your customer support, then they will ask you to send your subwoofer to them and they will just send you a new one! It will take a couple of week's but, make sure to contact them and they will send you a new one as soon as they have recieved yours. You need to give them a copy of your receipt, if you haven't got one then send your product number found on the box containing the speaker and all that...

Hi It would appear the decoder/amplifer is dead on my system, could anyone recommend a new decoder/amplifer for my current sound system?Will the Creative Decoder DDTS-100 do the same job? Thanks

Audigy platinum, Livedrive & Inspire 5.1 digital 5

I have the above mentioned hardware
sound card works fine with analog --> headphones
But when i switch to "digital out only" i still hear sound in my headphones and ABSOLUTELY nothing on my speakers :-!
connected from SB card digital out to green din converter to digital in on decoder of speaker system.
am very interessted in knowing how to get my li'vedri've to work with the optical in/out and so on :-! which drivers am i to use?
tried reading the information on the floats, but im just even more confused than before i started using creatives "support" - pages ;-)

Hi! I have the same problem! The digital output doesn't work!
There was a driver with those the backend worked but the frontpanel didn't. With all the other drivers I tried there was no sound on my Inspire 5. digital 5700 when I used the DIN connection.
I need the Inspire 5. digital 5700 connected to the back of my PC. Is there anybody who can help?

Problem : by switching to digital mode i just hear 2.0
but if i watch DvD i have full DD5. and DTS sound
And if I go back to Normal Analog Mode then a can just use 4.0 because the sound system
have just 2 Kabels

Inspire 5.1 5100 Configuration of the speaker recognized wrong by the software?

Hello, I'm Daniel from Portugal.
3-4 years ago i was given a set of speakers Inspire5 5100 along with an Audigy sz platinum pro. I used for one year and half and they were configured correctly by the software and everything worked perfectly regarding the speakers. But i went away and stopped using my home pc for a while. know i tried to install the soundcard drivers and the software but the speakers aren?t working properly.
The software recognizes the speakers in an all mixted up way. the front gets confused by the subwoofer and other anomalies like that. I've tried the software directions a bunch of times and i've made the upgrades for the soundcard. Nothing is working properly in the speaker department. What is wrong? They got old? The software is having problems? something wrong with the sound card?
I've made the diagnosis test and i uninstalled and tried everything twice. Keeps working wrong.
Can somebody help in this? Would really be appreciated!!::robotmad:

Inspire 5.1 5300 - only 2 speakers work

Hi,
I've been using these Inspire 5.1 5300 speakers for quite some time and it worked without problems all this while.
But today out of a sudden I realised there is only sound coming out from two of the five speakers.
I thought the speakers were spoilt so I tested by switching the cables around but it worked after that.
What can I do to rectify this problem? Does the problem lie with the settings (I didn't change anything) or the subwoofer that I'm connecting my speakers to?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi - I have the same problem as frogdorr. Onset 2 years ago.
Inspire 5300 speakers with audigy OEM card. Worked fine (and brilliantly!) for several months to a year. Then suddenly back two speakers stopped working. It is not the speakers - rotate them and they work fine but the new back speakers don't work.
Checked all windows settings (2000 & XP), speakers, conflicts etc. Reinstalled win.
Rotate the black and green plugs ( then rear becomes front, front becomes rear) means front left & right speakers don't work.
Used the audigy sound card with quadraphonic speakers (fps600) with no problem front & back. Used built in M/B sound card with the same result- no sound back speakers.
Seems like a cube loose wiring problem to me.
Where to from here?
Is there a service manual or approach to fixing this problem?
