Inspire 5700 Digital DIN Cable

Hi! :smileyvery-happy:
I have unfortunately broken my (9 Pin?) Digital DIN cable. I have been unable to find a cable that could replace my old one. I have had a lot of problems with my cable (no sound/noise etc.). I think those problems have occured because of the fact, that there has been some sort of loose connection.
This cable is my only way to enjoy the full 5.1 audio from my computer, for now I'm only using 4.1 through the analog cables.
I hope that it's possible to bye og replace my old cable...

Hi there, im wanting the same cable but finding it hard to track down.
Just to add, i need a 9 pin - 9 pin din to connect my creative 6.1 setup to an an external usb audigy 2 VE. Hopefully this would mean no need for the wired remote that connects to the 6.1 speakers? Can anyone confirm this?
Cheers, i'll keep looking.

  • Digital DIN cable !!! inspire 5700+audigy 2ZS

    Hi,
i need help with my inspire 5700. i don't have a digital din cable (for digital connecting audigy + inspire). Support says that cable is not available. does anybody know where to get this cable (4pole digital jack to 9pole digital DIN) or how to make this cable?
    Mic

I believe the DIN for soundcard are mainly built and solely used by Creative. I don't think there is any 3rd-party converter in the market to do DIN. There is a software here posted by some other users that can do AC3 encoding on the fly. Not too sure where's the post now but you can do a search for it.

Anyone knows where to get it in Msia.. or can I buy it from Creative Spore?
    OR
Anyone using this set with analog mode, then can sell this DIN cable to me..

  • Inspire 5700 - Digital stopped working

I have the Inspire Digital 5700 speakers and a while ago the digital Din stopped working. I then used the analogue.
Ive just upgraded my soundcard to the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum that requires 3 analogue outputs. Unfortunately the decoder wants 2. The Digital Din still doesnt work.
To test the system, I tried inputting optical from the front box to the rear of the decoder and still no sound.
    1. Do all of the digital inputs run from the same internal electronics ?
    2. Can I replace my decoder with the DDTS-100 ?
    3. Ive ordered the mini-jack to digital DIN cable from creative, but where can I get the mini Din to mini Din ? Creative doesnt sell this. Im in the UK
    Thanks

You could contact Customer Support directly to see if they can supply you with the DIN cable.
If you're connecting from the optical output on the drivebay to the optical input on the decoder, you'll need to change settings. This knowledgebase case covers a lot of detail:

  • Where can I buy Digital DIN cable in UK?

I have a DTT3500 set of speakers and the center has apparently stopped working. I've eleminated everyting and the only possiblity is either the decoder or the green 9-pin male to 9-pin male digital din lead. Does anyone know where I can buy one of these in the UK?
Creative don't sell them in the UK, tho their US store does, but I really don't want to get into whatever mess of tax and international shipping I'll have to deal with if I go down that route.
I've searched, froogle'd, ebay'd etc but haven't been able to find anywhere that sells these.
    TIA
    Athon Solo

If you connect the DTT3500 to your computer via the SPDIF coax connection (not the DIN), then play a DVD with dolby digital so that the DTT3500 decodes the AC3, then if the centre speaker doesn't work, you know the problem is with the decoder not the DIN cable.
If it is the DIN cable, unfortunately I can't find anywhere that sells them in the UK. You can import goods with an intrinsic value (exluding shipping) of ?8 or less without paying duty or VAT. You can check this on www.hmce.gov.uk. As this is such a hard cable to find, Creative really should sell them on the European store.

  • Audigy4 plain paired with Inspire 5700 Digital Au

I just bought an Audigy4 plain version yesterday. I'm trying to figure out what I need for the Digital I/O to get surround. I need something so I can get AC3 5. with spdif or the Digital din. I've searched the fourum for hours but it's all very confusing.

Yeah read that and wanted to reply but couldn't. Ok so Din is a no go. That's fine had the same problem with my last card and survi'ved. Only use 5. for my consoles and DVDs anyways. Might want to add that in the sticky that as of Audigy4 the DIN is no longer used. Might help a lot of people out.
So I would plug the mini jack to RCA in the Digital I/O and get DD and DTS for Movies? Might want to explain that in the sticky too.

  • Converting analog 5.1 (multiple cables) to Digital DIN (for Inspire 5700), how?

    Hi,
So far I've been using my Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 speaker system together with my Audigy Platinum in my Desktop PC to watch DVDs and play games with a 5.1 experience. To connect soundcard and Speaker system, I used the provided Digital DIN cable, and it worked fantastically, for both, DVDs and games.
Now I bought a notebook and the only choice to improve onboard sound was the X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook. I thought that I could simply connect it to my Inspire 5700 by connecting optical out with optical in using a TosLink-Mini -> Toslink cable. While this may work for DVDs (I don't have the cable yet), it won't work for all other applications, because as I read optical connections only provide a stereo signal unless the signal it'ss encoded via AC3 or DTS.
Of course there is the docking module which provides multichannel analog out. Trouble here: the Inspire 5700 only comes with two analog line in channels, front and rear. So that would lead to 4.0 instead of 5.1. Missing the center speaker for games is very bad.
Therefore I am looking for a way to convert the analog signal coming from the docking module into something that can be decoded as a 5.1 signal by the Inspire 5700. I have already found the DTS-610 which would turn the analog signal into a DTS signal. But that costs more than the soundcard itself.
So, my question: Is there any simpler / cheaper way how to transform multicable analog 5.1 to one-cable digital 5.1, either AC3, DTS or Digital DIN? I'd prefer a simple converter to Digital DIN, because that's what the Inspire 5700 was mainly designed for and it worked perfectly with my old Audigy.
Alternatively, one could possibly also use some fancy software to convert all the wave-out sound into AC3 or DTS and send it along the optical cable. But I don?t know any such software plus I expect this to drain a lot of processor power.
Any help is greatly appreciated it'ss kind of frustrating that two products of the same company can't be connected with each other, just because neither, the card nor the docking module provide Digital DIN.
Thank you very much and best regards

P.S. in another post, pjc said: You will probably require a 4-pole mini-jack > DIN converter to connect your Creative speakers to this socket.
That's exactly what I'm looking for, but I couldn't find such a converter on the creative homepage.

I believe the DIN for soundcard are mainly built and solely used by Creative. I don't think there is any 3rd-party converter in the market to do DIN. • Digital Din(please lo

    Hi all, may be a silly question but;
Does X-Fi Platinum has "digital din" connection for my Inspire 5700 Digital?
(5700 has a dolby digital or dts decoder. But PC games don't support those formats. And my speakers can't be connected to x-fi cards via analog. The only way of getting surround sound when playing games is digital din connection.)

As far as i know you need a so called "flexi jack". I think its an simple 3,5 Stereo to Cinch Adapter. But if you use it u are not able to use the Mic!! You are fooled by CL. Sorry for that! I got the same problem.
Wrong. The digital DIN is not avaible on the X-Fi line of soundcards (with any adaptor). It is working only on the old Audigy/Audigy2 series. The flexy jack is another problem - of the X-Fi Music cards.
Oh sorry for that. i just guested because of the Feature list.
