the problem is the speaker power volume control because I have try the headphones and the sound is good...and the power working but the green light of the power/volume is off and the speakers are mute...
    Someone can help?
    thx,

Try contacting Creative Labs support through the website or over the phone. They'll be able to supply you with the part, provided the speakers are still in production. CLs are usually quite good at that.

    Dear Altenbach,
The VI that you have posted in (Max8Discard.vi) in Limiting Input String Length
limits the entry of string control to required length but it doesnt limit the entry of special characters.
If you have any simple way to do the same it will be very helpful
    Thanks in advance...!!!

Just change the check after the Lexical Class function.  If you just want numbers and letters, then use the In Range & Coerce function to check for class numbers 3 through 5.  Play around with the logic some more until you get what you need (I'm thinking that AND should be an OR).

  • Inspire p380 volume control

Hello, this is my first post here.
I have a little problem:i have connected my old inspire p380 speakers to my xbox 360. The problem is that having done that, i cannot set the volume because the volume wheel is on the cable that goes from the speakers to the pc, which cannot be used with the xbox 360.
Is there another way to set the volume?
    Thanks in advance?

It's constantly making the sound go in and out, loud then quiet, and when you try to change or touch the pod it even cuts off completely.
Is there anyway I can get this replaced or am I going to be stuck with a perfectly good set of 7 speakers + a subwoofer that can no longer be used? After searching this problem and finding many others have had it, I suspect the latter. =/
    Thank you
    Hi sandsglands,
This is an old speaker model. However, I still suggest you contact Creative Support for any possible replacement of the volume control pod.

  • Creative Inspire P580 volume control probs

Reading through some of the posts on these forums, it is quite apparent that there is a very obvious fault with certain Creative speaker systems. I've used my P580's for over a year now, and has been working fine, although I've now changed to the Logitech Z-5500's instead, but I want to use these for my PC in the living room, but the wired remote control is no longer working. Therefore, I can't operate the system. Before it gave up the ghost, the volume would keep on fluctuating, and even just tapping it would increase the volume tenfold. It's completely not working now, even though the speakers are fine. The documentation states that you can buy a separate volume control unit through the Creative shop, but I can't find it. Any help?

This sounds like a customer support issue rather than a forums one but I guess it is possible someone from Creative will respond here. Your better bet would be to submit your problem here and deal with the problem through Creative's Customer Support system. They may be able to ship you a new part for a charge or help you fix the problem.
How, exactly, is the volume control broken?

  • Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 Speakers

I have Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 speakers. The "Wired Volume / Base Control with Power Switch and Headphone Jack" is malfunctioning. In fact, when I turn the volume control on, the green LED on top does not illuminate. And because of this bad control, I do not have sound. Can anyone tell me how and where I can replace this control? Your assistance is appreciated. Thanks very much.

  • Building volume control.... GGRRR help pls!

,Building volume control.... GGRRR help pls!? I have lost the volume control for my Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers.
Now i down want to spend like 20 on a new one so i thought about building a make sift one.
ok starting at the top going clock wise for pin numbers.
when i connect up pins 2 456 the speakers will come on at full volume but for the life of me i cannot figure out how the volume control came in to it.
I am assuming that you just whack a pot on it somewhere. spent all day trying to figure this but it is iluding me and starting to wind me up as i dont think it shouldnt be that hard to figure it out.
Also i know a lot of people who have had this prob but no answers have been figured from the 3 nights searching the web for a pin out or circuit diagram of the actual control unit,
If any one has a picture of one or even a circuit diagram of the volume control unit please email them to me at [email protected]
Oh and creative... I dont want to sell it or make any money i just want the speaker system working again.
    Thanks guys / Girls
    James

The digital output was triggered some how. Use a toothpick and feel around to unclick it. Its around the 3 oclock position.
If you feel uncomfortable doing that you can try inserting and removing a headphone jack till the light goes away.
Basically there is a switch in the jack that either tells the computer to send out "regular" audio or "digital" audio and yours seems to be stuck in digital mode.

  • Inspire 6.1 6600 Sound

    Hi,
Recently i have bought creative inspire 6.1 6600 speaker set....
I have ASROCK P4i45GV motherboard......And it has built-in sound card....When i connect the speaker set to my PC i am able to connect 4 speakers and Sub woofer too. I am able to hear the sound from all the 4 speakers and that sound will be same in all 4 speakers..(It will not be different in each speaker) Remaining two speakers i am not using ....Right now i am not planning to buy any sound card ..
when i keep the bass full and increase the volume, after half stage the sound starts shaking...Meaning i wont be able to hear the complete sound...
According to me there should not be any problem with the sound even i keep both bass and volume high .But the same is not happening with my inspire 6600......
So whats the problem?Do you think any problem with the particular set...........
Moderator plz help me in this regard.
    Thanks In Advance
    Rudra

6.1 6600 speakers will have every satellites giving out different sounds and reverberation. If you have those all similare, your sound card might not be supporting channel output.
With my experience with creative, the speaker systems are not suposed to be operated at full volume, at full bass enhan*****t. The reasons are:
    1) The power supply will be one-third more capable than the speaker rating. So, full amplification of the sound signal is not preferable.
    2) Even if the fidility of sound card is excellent with more than 98 dB SNR, the amplifier at the speaker system need not be as good as that at the card (because, it amplifies the signal to much higher a value)
    3) As I have seen with most of the speaker systems (including high end theatres), the bass enhan*****t is fully functional with woofer and subwoofers of more than 100 watt RMS. That too will exhibit chattering after an year or two, at high volumes.

I have the same product (from 3 years)... and I had the same problem!... it's the faulty volume control! I changed it 2 times... the first replaced was broken ,5 years ago... the second (different from the original) 6 month ago... :smileysurprised:

  • Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 Sound Problem

I have a Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM) (Audigy 2) and the speakers are Creative Inspire 6.1 6600. The sound goes down when the selector of volumen is between 3 and 4. I need to increase the volume to make it sound again, but it goes down again. What`s going on?

Does this problem only occur in certain programs? Because I have a similar problem with my sound suddenly dropping without warning. But it only happens when I'm playing music in Windows Media Player. If it does have something to do with the media player then I suspect it could be the "WOW effects plugin." I hope this helps, or at least narrows down your problem.

  • Broken volume control

hi i own the inspire 5.1 speakers with the sub woffer with home theater system. The volume control broke so now i cant use my speakers and no sound comes out. I was wondering if there was a replacement volume control remote that maybe i can buy or you can send me? here is the SERAIL NUMBER: SG4400248005325. please let me know as soon as possible. thank you

    Hi
I have the same problem with the Inspire T5400 system. Creative just don't seem to sell replacement volume controls which is really really outrageous, when it is a part which fails so often (we have two failed at the moment).
Do they seriously expect people to go and buy a whole new system just for one tiny weeny part?
And we are supposed to be reducing the amount we put into landfill .......
I have emailed the company today about this issue but suspect I will hear nothing useful.

  • Replacement Volume Control

I am looking for a replacement volume control for a Creative Labs / Cambridge Soundworks MegaWorks THX 2.1 250D. I have not been able to find one on this site or the Cambridge site. Are they available for purchase anywhere? I love the speakers, but the buttons on the volume control were not very sturdy. After a little wear and tear, the clicking mechanism basically stopped working with the up and down volume buttons. I did go in a re-solder the connections and that seemed to work for a while, but now the volume will go up and down at random times and I would just like to replace the controller at this point. The connection from the controller to the subwoofer appears to be proprietary and not some standard RCA type jack. So, I guess I cannot buy a universal or generic replacement. Money is not really an issue, but I am really happy with the speakers, and it seems crazy to replace my whole speaker system when the only issue is with the volume controller. Please help!

This seems to be common amongst creative speaker sets.
I've experienced the same issue (poor build quality on the one thing that'll be used the most) with my Inspire T5900 and T7900 sets.
I don't understand why the controller needs each channel routed through it (or so it seems), and why the replacement part seems impossible to come by - coupled with a year warranty.
    Defective By Design imho.
My next set of PC speakers will be Logitech if I can't obtain spares or a datasheet to make my own.
