Inspire 6.1 6700

Hi , I was hoping if somebody could help me. My system stopped working and when I opened the subwoofer I could see that the fuse was gone. However , when replacing the fuse and reconnecting the power supply the fuse blows at once. The fuses are correct (T6.3 250V)?Does anybody knows what might cause this and how can I fix it ?Thanks, Stan

Hi! I have the 6.1 6700 speaker system and I'm looking for the power supply adapter because mine has brocken. Can somebody help me where can I buy one? Thanks, Bachar

  • New audigy zs 2 video with Inspire 6.1 6700 speakers

hi, i had up til recently used a usb external extigy. i had ongoing issues with popping. then finally after leaving it disconnected and unplugged for a few days it decided not to power on when plugged in again.
so i decided to buy the usb audigy zs 2 video device.
got it today connected the device on its own first via usb installed software. have yet to install the may 10th updates.
i connected the green, black, orange minijacks from the inspire 6.1 6700 , i also connected the optical cable from my satelite decoder which i had previously done on the extigy and worked fine.
i initally got some sound when i turned on the speakers with the DIN connected rotating dial, but noticed that when i tried to up or down the volume the sound died and came back when dial was near middle.
i have since rebooted, rechacked cables but now i have no sound at all.
i have opened the windows xp sound volume panel and click on the sliders i can hear wave pings when you click on the sliders to move them so some sounds are working.
i cant hear anything on the digital optical in. i also tried connect ing my x360 box to the optical but getting nothing.
i just tested with a midi file, i can hear it but it sounds odd not as crystal clear as you would expect.
sorry to go on but after spending so much, its should be very easy to get running properly. i shouldnt be having these problems. i am currently downloading the new drivers and updates.
can someone clarify should the 6700 inspire 6.1 work fine or not with e audigy zs 2 video usb box?
is some special way they should be connected, DIN to DIN instead of the 3 minijacks (front, rear and center)?

i've got the inspire?5. and my controller is gone i cant get parts anywhere aswell and creative dont make it anymore although they told me that the inspire 2600 controller works with it aswell but i cant get bits for that either,
give creative a call although the number isnt on there website because they are a bunch of retards just do as if you are ordering something over the phone and then ask to speak customer services and they will give you the number but the call centre is in dublin so go on the net and search for liek a number to call before it to make it alot cheaper. while your on the phone ask if they got any of mine in yet while your at it lol cheers

  • Cables for Inspire 6.1 6700

I have recently bought the Creative Inspire 6.1 6700 speaker set. Unfortunately my dog has chewed the cables to pieces. Is it possible at all to get a new set of cables from Creative? I went to my local store, they said this should be possible.

That might be a good idea beacause your onboardchip doesn't really support surrounssound. For DVD-Videos etc. it must support Dolby or DTS sound and most Games need EAX. Unfortunately AFAIK only Creative Soundblaster support EAX above version 2. The cheapest way would be a Sound Blaster Live! 24-Bit, if you want EAX 4 it should be an Audigy 2 ZS, which isn't much more expensive if you chose the bulk-version. If you want the newest technique it would be an X-Fi extreme Musik that costs almost twice as much as the Audigy.

  • Creative Inspire 6.1 6700 bro

I've just moved and when I first tried to power on my creative speakers they just won't.
When I switch on the speaker with the little hand controller, the light in the middle just won't light. Also when I tune it on the pc I won't hear any sound, while with an older set of creative speaker it works.
Because the light on the hand controller doesn't turn on, I suppose it might be a problem with the power adapter?
I would like to know where I can order a new one. (reference MODEL TEAC-66-35000V)
Anything else that can helpme solve the problem is welcome
My product is probably out of warranty because it's been at least 2 years that I've bought them.
I'm living in Brussels, and if you knwo any place where I can go, and have my product repair this is useful.
    Thanks

  • Creative Inspire 6.1 6700 with Creative Live! 5.1 soundcard?

I have a Creative Inspire 6.1 6700 with Creative Live! 5.1 soundcard, but the front-middle speaker does not work!
It's not the speaker self who is defect, I test this by switchging the connector on the subwoofer with the rear-middle, then the front-middle is working right.
I have switched to 5.1->6.1 on the subwoofer.
    What can cause these problem?
Audio cables wrong connected to the audio-card?
    I use Windows 98SE as O.S.
    thanks in advance!

  • Creative Inspire 6.1 6700 subwoofer not working

I've had set of 6700 speakers for a couple of years now. About a year ago, my PC was upgraded to a 64 bit motherborard, with a crappy on-board sound card (uses Soundmax drivers). With the new motherboard, I lost control of the sound setup, & ended up with masses of bass from the subwoofer. After a while, all sounds deteriorated, & the bass disappeared (along with much sound from the rest of the speakers). I finally got the hell in and invested in a new sound card - Creative Soundblaster Audigy 4 excellent piece of kit. Now I have decent (controllable) sound from all speakers.... EXCEPT no sound from the subwoofer. I have tested all the contacts - everything seems to be plugged in OK. If I disconnect the power lead, I get a dull thud from the subwoofer - so something must be connected! Any suggestions what to try to get the bass working properly again? I've tried the various settings in the sound setup (e.g. max subwoofer volume) but get nothing.

  • Inspire 6.1 6700 speaker hum

Got this system a few weeks ago for my PC, and they worked fine up till the other morning when I switched on to be greeted by a very loud hum from all 7 speakers. All worked fine when computer was on the night before.
Have tried disconnecting all satellite speakers and audio leads from main bass unit, but hum is still the same.
Have looked at circuit boards on the volume control and in the main bass unit, and there are no obvious signs of part failure or loose wiring.
Power supply is a sealed unit, so I can not take a look inside. However voltage output is 6v~ instead of the 3.5v~ specified on the power supply.
My guess is the power supply is knackered.
Can anyone out there confirm my suspicion or suggest an alternative reason.
Also, if I need a new power supply can anyone suggest where I could get one and for how much. I live in the UK.
I hope someone can help please....

  • Inspire 6.1 6700 Speakers

I have been reading this forum to try to find information to re-vitalise my dead speaker system which is less than 3 years old.
I understand from Creative the volume control is subject to failure however they do not have any replacements!
Reading other posts I have been lucky the average life expectancy seems to be around 2 years!
I cannot afford to replace what should be a very stable component every two / three years so I am replacing with Logitech which I hope will last several years!
I share my experience in the hope that other prosepective purchasers can make an objective decison regarding their planned purchase of soundbalster products..

I'm afraid they aren't compatible. You can see which speaker works with the remote device from the product page.

  • Inspire 6.1 6700 In games

    Hi,
I'm having a problem with all my speakers working in games. I have Realtek 8.1 onboard sound with the latest driver. I've set it up through the realtek software as 6 channel speakers and when I run the surround sound test, each speaker works correctly . However when I go in to the game I get mixed results. eg in F.E.A.R only the left and right speakers work (theres no option in there to change the surround sound setup) and in Counterstrike source with surround sound on (5.1), only the front speaker works.
It seems like a software issue with Realtek but haven't had any luck questioning them so far. I have no idea why it works through windows (XP Home) and not in game. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
    Cheers

  • Creative Inspire 6.1 6700 popping noise

I am now deafened by the popping noises from my sub. Due to my computer being held hostage for 2 1/2 years during a divorce I couldn't get my sub replaced under warranty (I was half way through sorting this out) I have asked Creative for help once and got the reply "we no longer service that part number". Can anybody suggest anything? I can't see any burnt tracks on the circuit board.
    HELP!!

  • Creative 6.1 Inspire 6700 - Problem with the volume (amplifier unit / plate)

    Hello everybody!
I have bought a Creative Inspire 6.1 6700 on January of 2004 and yesterday I found out that the amplifier unit (which is on the back side of the sub) is malfunctioning.
Actually when I try to turn on the volume from the wired remote control the sound is heavily distorted and the green led is very dim (not bright like it used to be).
The power adapter is good, the fuse inside the amplifier plate is good, so it must be something within the amplifier unit / plate.
Can anyone throw some light into this? Do you know if I can buy from somewhere, just the amplifier plate?
Thank you for your time and effort!

Just look at the plate from the bottom side. Probably you will see some spot or region of yellow color (burnt out).
