Inspire P7800/SigmaTel Audio Driver

Hi,
I just bought an Inspire P7800 and i noticed that the only sound comes from the front speakers. The side and rear speakers don't have sound coming out of em. I have a Dell with an integrated sound card called the SigmaTel audio. The problem is that this dumb sound card doesnt have ANY options for customizing speakers. PLUS I have vista so it makes it even harder to switch my speakers from 5.1 to 7.1, etc cause I simple just can't find the options for changing settings. (Vista is wack). Does anyone else have these problems? Also, a solution would be GREATLY appreciated. I want to enjoy my new 7.1 speakers! Thanks freestyLes

Regarding your speaker issue, it's best to check with the motherboard manufacturer to find out if the integrated sound card supports 7.1 speakers. Note that most sounds you play are in stereo channel, only some games and DVD supports 5.1 surround.
When you have 5.1 surround, be sure to flip the CMSS upmix switch for 7.1 output.

Qosmio G30: Conflict between Sigmatel audio driver and Vista SP1

Hello,
I have a Qosmio G30 PQG32E notebook and can't upgrade to Vista SP1 because the Sigmatel driver (6.10.5462.0) is conflicting with the service pack.
As some of you might know, Sigmatel no longer exists and IDT who bought them is as good as non-existent, saying to contact the OEM directly for updated drivers.
Is there any plan to upgrade the audio driver ?
There are huge memory leaks in my case from the audio driver.
When using Photoshop or Premiere Pro, the audiodg.exe proccess consumes 800MB and more after one hour of continuous work.
I am hoping for an updated more stable driver, and more stability from SP1.
Am I a dreamer?

Have your problems started after SP1 installation? Just for info: at the moment Toshiba does not support SP1. I really believe that you have some troubles and because of that I still wait with SP1 installation.
You are right about Qosmio. It costs a lot of money but using delivered recovery image installation you will not have any problem. About memory and how much resources Vista needs you can read everywhere. Even if you close some application RAM will still be occupied with different information. If you start the same application again you will see that application starts second time much faster.

You have really nice notebook and you should upgrade RAM to maximum level. I am pretty the notebook will runs much better and of course faster. For such notebook 2 GB for Vista is really the minimum.

How do i fix my sigmatel audio driver problem?

I have a Black Macbook Intel Core 2 (circa 2007)
Running Windows XP Pro SP3
via Boot Camp v 3.2.
I recently had to reinstall Windows XP Pro and only had saved Boot Camp Disks for v1.4 and then upgraded to 3.1 via the Boot Camp 3.2 .EXE downloads available on Apple's site. Unfortunately, now there is no sound coming out of my internal speakers OR the headphone.
Prior to reinstalling XP, I also had this same problem, but it was limited to no sound from the internal speakers (I was able to get audio out of the headphone jack).
I've tried several approaches/combinations of reinstalling, updating drivers, restarting, etc.. with no success
I have seen this (or related) problems on multiple sites dating back to 2006 and have not found any clear resolution or answer, particular from anyone at Apple. Why hasn't this been put to rest??? I know Apple provides limited ('terrible') support for boot camp, along with just about everything else. But this issue has been going on since 2006, with no clear support.
Any help would be appreciated...

Where did you download Windows 7 "through bootcamp" from? As far as I know you can not download Windows through Bootcamp. Where did you get the Windows Support software? Try downloading the Windows support software from http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/downloads/

Pavilion dv4-1287cl - Problem caused by Sigmatel C-Major audio driver

Is anyone aware of a solution to this Vista error message? I've seen the other threads and haven't seen anything that works. The fact that this message pops up everytime I startup or log on is more than a bit annoying. Is HP even working on a solution? It is obviously in their court....

What soundcard goes with ne Inspire P7800 - want a Live! Drive for recording with it

I just bought the new Inspire P7800 7.1 system and have been using a Soundblaster Live Platinum card since it was the hottest, newest card. Now I see the Audigy series and am wondering if I can take full advantage of this speaker system I have with the current card installed. I can only seem to make the front two, center and woofer work with this old card and my software only gives me options for four speakers. There is a Surround Sound feature but it doesn't seem to work. I have two jacks on the card, one for line out and one for rear. I am assuming I need a newer version of Soundblaster. Can someone give me recommendations on cards?

Yes, I hear nothing but good things from Glyph drives, but like you said, they are $70-$100 more. I was unaware about the Oxford 924 chip. If Glyph promotes it in a product for recording purposes, then it shouldn't be bad. The studios at my school, Ball State's Music Technology Dept., use both the Glyph drives and the OWC Mercury Elites and have had good relations with both. I guess it's up to you. From what Sweetwater has told me, the Glyph drives are supposed to be more rugged and be able to handle more stress, but they are just Seagate drives in them, so who knows.

Sigmatel C-Major audio driver

I've HP Pavilion dv5 about 2 months. Today I received a message saying my audio driver had stopping functioning to go to my manufacturer and install the Sigmatel C-Major audio driver. I could not find it to download but did see that others are having this same problem with their HP Pavilion dv5. Someone stated they "rolled back" and the problem was fixed. Can anyone tell me either where to download the audio driver or how to "roll back" whatever that is?

This message told me that the problem was caused by Sigmatel C-Major audio driver, which was created by integrated device technology,inc. And that i need go online to my computer manufacturers website (this website) and sear for sigmatel C-Major audio driver updates.. but i cant find them.

To find your drivers page,use the button at top of this page_"Support & Drivers".
You need full model number or P/N to input.Locate the Service Tag on bottom of your laptop.Check for complete model number as shown in section 1 below,and use it.P/N in section 2 also will work.

Inspire P7800 (SR/SL)

Just purchased the Inspire P7800, currently using integrated SBLIVE 7.1 off a K8N Neo4/SLI board. Both side speakers are non-functional, using latest drivers and have double checked connections (subwoofer setting is "directly"). Speakers came with a 4-to-3 7.1 audio cable, should I bother trying to find/buy a 4-to-4 cable?
Also having problems getting EAX to function in Doom3. Searched the forums, but seems most are using the audiogy 2 cards or Xi. Few SBLive 24-bit 7.1 and were little to no help.
Suggestions?

The speaker is connected to the computer soundcard and the soundcard is the one that's interacting with the OS. If there is no sound from the speaker, there is only 2 possibility. Either the speaker is faulty or the soundcard is faulty or not interacting properly with the new OS.
Have you try updating to the latest soundcard driver?

Creative inspire P7800 and X-fi extreme sound card on win 7

I have a dell with windows 7, the creative X-fi Extreme sound card and my creative inspire P7800. The sound has not worked properly since receiveing the computer.
I am going to assume it is my speaker and the set up.
I currently cannot even get the option to set up the 7.1 surround speakers. It only shows two. Half the time the sound doesn't work and the other half it only works on certain sites.
I would appreciate any advice on how to trouble shoot this and get it working properly.
The driver I have currently installed is the creative ver. 6.10.0.209 dated 8/27/2009.Above this there is also another listing that says ATI High Definition Audio Device. I do have the on board sound of my motherboard disabled.
If I need to install another driver please advise me of the procedure to do it correctly.

It is a new driver and is released on 28 March 2014.

Creative Inspire P7800

Hello, I have a Creative Labs Inspire P7800 7.1 audio system. It is virtually new (used it twice). Somewhere over the years I lost the power adaptor for the subwoofer. Google doesn't return many results with the info I have. I am looking for a replacement adaptor, and/or enough info to manufacture my own. The jack on the sub only says 3.5V AC in, and the manual mentions it but doesn't contain any details . Any info would be appreciated, such as: part number for adapter, amperage of adaptor, type of jack (probalbly have one that fits it), and which pin is + and -.
I'm rather electronics savy and have decent soldering skills, so making my own adaptor isn't out of the question. Also, I'm trying to avoid taking it apart to determine more. Thanks.

Ok, upon searching the forums (should have done this first), it looks like the model # is UA 460. The power is 3.5V AC 6 Amps.
Is there any sort of internal rectifier? Wil it accept DC Voltage (I assume there is an internal rectifier that converts the AC to DC)?

Sigmatel Audio Chipset and Popping Sound

I have an Intel iMac, which I purchased in April of 2006. Ever since I have had it it has had an annoying popping sound problem. The problem happens 4 times at startup. The problem is noticeable at the beginning and end of the computer playing a sound. Such as a system sound or changing the volume. If other audio, such as an mp3 or dvd is already playing the system sounds will not exhibit the behavior. This is because the audio chipset is already active. The problem happens because immediately after playing a sound the chipset goes to sleep and playing a new sound wakes it up, causing the popping sound. I have had it at the Mac store twice and they could not fix the problem. I have asked Apple to fix the problem or give me a refund. They stated that they will not do that. They also stated that they are aware of the issue and that Apple does not consider it a problem. It is a problem for someone like me who is a musician and uses the computer to produce music. You can only imagine how many pops and clicks I here while creating music. Apple released an audio update in July which sounds like it should fix the problem. Unfortunately it did not fix the problem. I know the problem is unique to the Sigmatel hardware or software driver for the device because it has the same problem in other environments. I have Windows Vista installed on this same iMac using bootcamp and I have the exact same problem in Vista. So the problem (design flaw) is either with the Sigmatel hardware or any of the software written for the hardware. I also had an Intel motherboard, the D975XBX2, with a Sigmatel audio chipset on it. This board also had the same problem. I disabled the onboard sound and installed a Creative Audigy 2 ZS and the problem was not present. I do not know which audio chipset is being used in the new iMacs or the newer Macbook Pros, but I hope that Apple has switched to something besides the Sigmatel, because this is a very annoying problem (design flaw).

Inspire P7800 vs. Inspire T7900?

What's the difference between the Creative Inspire P7800 and Inspire T7900? The only difference I can see is that the mini tweeters in the left, center, and right speakers wit hthe T7900 set are missing in the P7800 set. Is the sound quality really different, or what?

Inspire p7800//windows vista

Does the Ceative inspire p7800 work on my compute which has windows vista. i cant seem to figure out what is wrong. i havetn been able to get even static on my speakers.

G510 audio driver installation problem on Windows 8.1

I've just received my brand new Lenovo G510 and installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit onto it.
Most of the drivers from the attached CD installed without any problems (though I was quite surprised that no newer versions were available on the Support wrbpage) but I can't install audio driver.
Apparently this series is equipped in either Conexant or Realtek audio chips and the provided setup application is desigend to detect the correct chip and run the appropriate driver installation program.
The problem is that setup is not working for me. All I receive is the notification "This utility can not be used on this machine". Since there are no "orphan" audio devices in the Device Manager, I can't really tell which audio chipset is installed in my machine. I don't want to install both dirvers as it may just cause confilcts.
How can I say which audio chipset is installed and install the correct driver?

Under Device manager
You should look for your Audio
Normally it stays under Sound and gaming controller,
And if no driver is installed in shows as High Definition Audio
Right click on it and select Properties
Go to the Details TAB
change the Value to Hardware ID then check the details
ex. PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&SUBSYS_051014E4&REV_01
Get the 4 digit after VEN and DEV
Ven is the Vendor and Devi is the Device
Go to PCI database and do a search for the VEN
Then search for the DEV and youll know that device
