Inspire T5900 Sound Problems

Hi
I have a problem with my T5900 speaker system, but cannot find any threads that list this product. I have this connected to my PC through a Sound Blaster Xi-F card. We use an ION Profile Pro vinyl record decks to play the records and also to convert to mp3. Recently we cannot turn the volume up without the sound running away louder and distorted without touching the volume control. What do you think may be the cause. We have used the ION quite a lot without problems before.
If anyone has had a similar problem or can suggest a solution please advise.
Regards

Well.. I tried that a dozen times when it first happend.
I think I am just going to buy a whole new setup... tech support is telling me that I either need to send it to them for fixing, which costs a fee because I am no longer with in the warranty period.
I think I would rather keep the speakers and stuff for a back up to the new one I am going to buy!
I found the same setup at Walmart for much cheaper, but I will have to order it as I doubt it is something that is in stock up here in Alaska..at least at the one store I called closest to me.
Anywho, thanks for the post, appreciate it.

  • HELP!!! Inspire T5900 problem

Hi guys! I have a Inspire T5900 connected to my Sound Blaster Audigy 4 soundcard. The problem is, when I test my speakers in the THX software console, the rear left speaker's sound seem to be coming from the subwoofer. Whenever I reinstall or repair the drivers, it works for a short time but then after a while, the rear left sound comes from the subwoofer and rear left speaker itself stops working. Any idea what's wrong? Driver issue or its the subwoofer's problem?
    Thanks in advance

I just realized it has something to do with the connection of the control switch (that turns on the power and allow connection of headphones and aux) to the subwoofer. It seems if I pull it out and reconnect, the rear left speakers work temporarily. I'm guessing, the moment the connection gets physically affected, it switches the rear speakers the to the subwoofer. Any ideas whats going on?

  • Inspire P580 sound system problem.

As you see from the subject, i am using inspire P580 sound system. My sound card is Realtek AC97. SO, the front right speaker stopped working :/ everything is plugged into its place and if plug that panel into another socket IT WORKS, strange. sound controls are okay. Dont know what to do. socket couldn't be broken :/ thanks in advance for help.

    ThirdFoot,
Try testing the speaker with another audio source such as portable/MP3 player.
    1. Completely disconnect the speaker cable from the sound card.
    2. Make sure the speaker cable is still securely connected to the speaker system.
    3. Connect the Line Out connector of the speaker cable (usually green and is linked to the front speaker) into the Line Out/Headphone jack of the external device.
    4. Power the device on and start playing audio.
    5. Listen and make a note if there is not any sound or if the sound is distorted in any way.
    6. Disconnect the speakers from the device and repeat steps 1-3 for Line Out 2 connector (usually black and is linked to the rear speaker) and Line Out 3 connector (usually orange and is linked to the center/sub speaker) if the speaker system has more than 2 speakers.
If everything seems to work fine in the above test, then the problem may lies in your soundcard and not the speaker.
The above test information is obtained from the Knowledgebase article SID273.

  • Inspire 5.1 P5800 Sound problem...

    Hello Everyone
I have a Sound problem with my 5.1 speaker system. When I turn it on,(playing music or not)I hear a terrible loud/high background noise, like a constant interferance. It's a very unpleasant sound. The noise come from all satelites speaker(Speacially the center speaker.)
I'm sure that all conections is ok.
Please help me to solve this problem.
PD.: If it's help I have a Compaq Presario SR602LS Desktop PC.

1 Identify which component causes it; plug headphones to your computer to see if that has noise, try all three connections. Then, connect all speaker inputs to a different source, like a mp3-player.
2 If both are noise-free, it has to be some kind of interference. The cables to the satellites are coaxial so they are not likely to be the cause, but the 3,5mm jacks to the sub might be. To find out if they are, try moving your sub around your room to see if the noise changes (both decrease or increase).
3 If the problem cannot be traced to either or 2, it might be a groundloop: that the signal fed from, for instance, your computer, to the ground connection of your electricity-plug is picked up by your speaker set. To check this, try connecting your set to a different electrical group or at least a different plug.
In case 1: if it's the pc, try grounding it if it's not already. If it's the speakerset it will not be so easy to solve.
In case 2: see if you can connect the sub to your pc using coaxial wires (or perhaps even optical, I am not familiar with the set), you might need some 3,5mm-to-RCA-plugs for that, or if you can somehow shield the inputcables by wrapping it in aluminum-foil or anything.

  • Speedlink Medusa 5.1 + Inspire T5900

    Hi,
i recently discovered a problem regarding my sound system setup.
I use an Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard to which the amplifier box of the Medusa 5.1 Headset is connected, the Inspire T5900 is connected to the Output of the amplifier box. Thats where the Problem occurs. The front channels of the Speaker System get combined.
Everything is set up and installed correctly. When the speakers are connected to the sound card directly, everything works fine. As soon as I loop them through the amplifier box, the front channels get messed up.
Has anybody experienced similar Problems and knows a fix? I only read about muffled sound or channels missing completely but nothing about channels getting combined.

it sounds like a problem with your amps.
..since it work fine with the sound card and speaker when it's connected directly.

  • Inspire T5900 subwoofer dead

    Hi,
i bought Inspire T5900 today. I connected it to my Audigy 2ZS and ... every speaker works (and i actually like the sound), but there's just no subwoofer and no bass. I reinstalled audigy2zs's software and drivers, d/led latest webupdate and still nothing. I switched all the input cables, tried my older audigy card... anything i tried, woofer just remains totally silent.
Can anyone help me and tell what to check for or it's definitely RMA and i should not waste my own time tinkering with cables/audiocards so on?

The only thing I can think of is to play material that is very bass heavy and see if you can hear anything from the subwoofer. I think the crossover is around 25-50Hz, so you shouldn't have any trouble making the subwoofer play. If you can, play some DVD movies through your computer. DVDs have a separate track just for Low-Frequency Effects (LFE channel), so that should get your subwoofer giong if it works. If you don't have a DVD software player, then you can use Media Player Classic and have it decode Dolby and DTS signals (search Google for it).
If none of those work, then the subwoofer would seem to be dead.

please tell me what is problem in My Laptop. i have window 7 ultimate operating system.
    Please help me sir

What sound problem - no sound on anything, no sound on some apps ?
Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
And for future info typing in all capitals is considered to be SHOUTING

  • Desperately need some help!! iTunes/Quicktime/iChat/Sound problems....

So, yesterday, I was online, on google video, and when I pressed play on the video, there was no sound, but the video worked...the same was true on every video site i checked. My computer volume was at max, and I even tested the speakers to make sure they were on, and they indeed were.
I thought that was odd...but then the problems really started.....
After that, I clicked on my iChat icon. It bounced once, and did not open. The same thing happened when I clicked on iTunes. 1 bounce, and then nothing. I checked to make sure all of my iTunes mp3 files were on my computer....they indeed are all still here, bit nothing I can do opens iTunes. I've run disc utilities, and disc repair...according to that, everything is peachy-keen on my computer.....but iChat and iTunes STILL will not open, and there is still no sound on anything.
Now, i'm leaning towards the archive and install option....or even just backing up what I want to save, wiping the drive, and starting from scratch.....but i'd really like to not have that happen.
(and, as a side question, if all I want to save are images, several documents, and many mp3 files, would everything be okay if I just backed them up on an external drive, and then loaded them back on to my computer after reinstalling OS X?)
Sorry about the length of this, but I am at my wit's end, and I have no idea what to do.

by third-party, do you mean things I installed that are not manufactured by mac? If that is the case, I have microsoft office, Smart Music, Flip4mac, and Senuti.
I got rid of Flip4Mac to see if that affected my sound problems, but it did not. So, as of now, my problem remains the same...

  • Sound problems on ProBook 6550b, running on Win 7 Pro x32bit..

I have been getting very similar sound problems on my notebook as posted by most: internal speakers work on original Audio HD drivers, but there is no sound when I connect external speakers or headphones. I up-graded the audio drivers to IDT HD Audio and I get sound coming from external speakers or headphones, but nothing from internal speakers.
I have tried everything from reporting the problem on public forums, live help, and done this or that, but nothing changes. It's so very clear to me that it has to do with audio drivers, which don't seem to work appropriately to cover all aspects of sound output.
I also, often, get this loud, weird, irritating noise and a frozen PC when I am playing music with the notebook, while on the internet. The best I do is not to do both at the same time. I have seen similar problems on blogs, but tangible solutions are NOT offered!!!! Please help...

Audio Switching coudl be due to several reason. if you have tried latest audio drivers and latest Video drivers from hp.com, i suggest you to get audio board replaced for your computer.
    Hope it helps.

  • Any resolution to the sound problem?

I have been having the same sound problem with my Mid 2010 Mac Pro tower ever since I got it.  I have been in touch with Apple and have been told that they are familiar with the problem, but that they are still working on a fix.  The problem is that I have external speakers, and every time I shut down and then start up again, I have to go to preferences and physically change the sound output to go to the speakers.  I have also been tole that the Mac is supposed to sense the external speakers and go directly to them.
Is there anybody else out there with this problem, and has been able to resolve it?
    Thank you.

I have a 2010 Mac Pro and use the stereo line out jack in the back of my machine for my speakers with no problem.  I don't recall any problems setting it up.  But check the Audio MIDI Setup (in your utilities folder) to see if you can set it from there (should be able to).  Not sure why the preference wouldn't stick.  And I don't believe there is automatic detection of an attached sound output device where the sound preference switches to that (unless maybe the front jack which I never use).

  • Please help iPhone 5 sound problems

  • Sound Problems on iPad: how to fix, easy [video]

    Hi dear iPad user,
Most people will, eventually, have sound problems: the cause can be complex as a 'miss-behaved' app that messes the sound engine or as simple as the iPad being forgotten on Mute/Volume Down.
I used to help family and friends to fix their iPads' sound problems by sending them 'text' instruction steps... lots of times they ended up calling me on the phone...
    So I made a video (short: 1m40s):
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjBP-Ncj_fE
    It shows:
how to unmute the sound (even if the side-switch locks the rotation of the screen)
    how to put volume up
how to close all the apps (in the case there is an App messing with the sound system)
how to reboot the iPad (ultimatelly fixes hard cases of messed sound system)
What it won't fix: if you have a hardware problem...
If you do all the steps and you get NO SOUND AT ALL, please, try also checking if you car listen sounds using a HEADPHONE (you know are working conditions). If you can listen to sounds in the headphone but no sound at all in the iPad's built in speaker, well, there might be a hardware problem and you should look for help on an Apple Retail Store or other official technical support available at your location.
    Hope this helps!
    Everson.

UPDATE: fixing iPad Sound after iOS 7
    http://youtu.be/SDf1LDcE95Q
    (1min 36sec)
    It covers the basics:
    checking side-switch / mute / "Control Center"
    volume all up
    ...and also the worst cases:
closing all apps (for rare cases when a single app might render the sound system instable)
    rebooting the iPad
So, don't get desparete: try the things in the video.
There are people who reported having forgotten an audio-bluetooth connection activated with a turned-off sound-system or speakers... or forgot Air-Play turned on... so be sure you disengage bluetooth and/or airplay.
On the 'hardware side', dirty dock connector (30 pin) can make the iPad 'think' it is connected to external audio - if so, cleaning it with a dry toothbrush can fix. Also, moisture in the headphones connector can make the iPad switch to 'headphones' even without headphones connected, making it silent: check if you can hear things with headphones plugged in - if so, try gently inserting and removing headphones a few times and check if you get sound back to iPad's speakers alone.
Good luck to everybody! Audio problems are quite common - fontunately they are easy to fix.
