Inspiron 1545 - New HDD and Boot CD not working

Dear Dell Support,
my Inspiron 1545's HDD died and I bought a new WD Blue (WD5000LPVX) to replace it with.
Initially the HDD was not recognizable (PCW cable not present) and after some searching I found that I had to disable NIC on BIOS.
After doing so, the HDD was present on the BIOS.
I tried then to boot from CD, both Windows and Ubuntu, but it never reaches this, even though both changing the boot sequence and choosing what to boot from on F12.
It ends up with a message 'Operating System not present'.
I also noticed that BIOS becomes very slow when the HDD is present.
Finally, it seems that the new drive is a SATA 3 one, but this can be changed using jumpers...
Any ideas on how to boot the laptop with this setup using a CD/DVD?

What do you mean "not working"? That could mean multiple different things.
If help is desired, be as specific as possible.

Good morning, I installed ios6 on the new iPad and siri will not work. Each time I try to use siri she says "uh oh, I'm having a problem. Please try again. I have tried turning siri off and back on again. Resetting the iPad, resetting the network, turning Airplane Mode off and on again. All to know avail. My iphone 5 works great and so does my wife's iphone 4s with ios6. I have called Apple support but there only suggestion was that the servers were busy. If that was the case my other devices would not work either. Plus the servers wouldn't be busy for four days. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I was looking forward to using siri on the new iPad and other folks don't seem to be having a problem.

Then you need to change your device details as this still says iPad2.
It's very possible Apple's servers have been busy for 4 days as not everyone downloaded iOS 6 on the day it was announced. I downloaded it last Friday, myself, as an example.
There are a millions and millions of people using Apple iDevices.
Just because everything went fine with the iOS 6 updates of your iPhone 4 and 5 doesn't mean something couldn't have gone wrong with an update to your iPad3
If the iOS update missed something during the download, I am not sure how to go about re-downloading iOS 6 to fix the issue you are having.

I can not access FireFox. I re-downloaded a new version and it does not work. It used to work.

How did you install Acrobat, did you install it as a part of Suite installation.
If it is a part of suite then deactivate suite uninstall Acrobat, Reinstall Acrobat using Suite media. Launch Photoshop first and Activate.
Then try launch Acrobat.

Satellite A205-replaced HDD and recovery CD not working; media test failure

Please help,
My wife's computer crashed, it all started with windows\system32\en file corrupt or missing. Took it in to the geek squad and diagnostics test said hard drive corrupt.
(Trying to recover the data is another problem to solve later)
To save money I ordered a new HDD (WD320GB) installed the new HDD, inserted the recovery disc and get the following message:
Pre-boot execution Environment (PXE) v2.1
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM
Operating System not found
I can see the new HDD in the BIOS, I've changed the boot order to start with CD/DVD drive but still get the message above.
What now?

I want to say thanks to all who helped. The problem with recovery CD's not working was the DVD drive.
I was able to get a used DVD drive really cheap and was able to reinstall to factory condition.
Just for kicks once the install and all updates were completed I stuck the old DVD drive back in and still didn't work. So other than alot of time online and looking around for a DVD drive that would fit the laptop, I spent less than $10 for DVD drive and $65 for another hard drive which is good news, the bad news is my wife couldn't live anylonger without Facebook and bought another laptop, HP this time.
Well my daughter will have a Tosh to do her school projects.
Now to figure out what caused the crash, loss of data and DVD not to work in the first place.

Brand New iMac and wired keyboard not working

I just bought a new iMac.The wired keyboard seems to work, the mouse is plugged into the keyboard and that works, and I can, somewhat make changes to the volume and other small changes. The ESC key works (I can turn off VoiceOver)but... I can not even get the computer up and going. I can not put in my name or other registration information.
Any ideas if the keyboard has some kind of other settings that I need to turn off. There is no software or anything else in the Mac that I know of. It is brand new and just arrived today.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm so sorry. I know this a bummer. But better to take it back. When you take it in, if they boot it and get it to work, make sure and shut down the iMac, wait about ten seconds and press the power button. Make sure it boots to the Desktop and that your keyboard functions as it should. Just make absolutely sure it works before you bring it back home. In fact, since you could not get through the registration process, perhaps they will go through that with you since had problems with it. Something isn't communicating between the iMac and the keyboard. Could be the USB ports, software/hardware ... hopefully they'll repair it to your satisfaction or replace it.

N900 rebooting and boot mode not working... NEED H...

Hi everyone,
I need some help with my N900.
First I have installed the Nitdroid N11 and play with it a bit but I had some reboot problem but nothing wrong on the Maemo OS.
After installing the new Nitdroid N12 as stated in the forum, I have loaded into the N12 and play a bit with it. But the N900 were still rebooting every so often (may be every 10 min) into Nitdroid UMay aka N12. Because I didn't install the new kernel which is nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-07_rc3_armel.deb I have decided to do it and see if it will change anything. So after installing it it didn't change anything.
So I decided to reboot into Maemo but the boot option did not work anymore.
I have the N900 restarting every 50 sec, the orange light always on and the Nokia logo showing up but the phone doesn't get to the boot option.
I have try to load into boot mode but it doesn't work. I am not even sure if it is charging at all.
Did someone had the same problem? Can anybody help me?

Well I don't think the problem is with Nitdroid as I was playing with that before the phone stopped to work.
The problem is the phone actually seems to not charge at all. When it is plugged into the usb or the charger there is sometimes a steady bright yellow light or sometimes no light at all. Sometimes when I press the power button the Nokia logo comes up, the light is white-blueish and bright and the phone reboot in loop. I don't even get to the boot up options.
I have heard that if the battery is completly flat this problem might occure but if you leave it plug in it should change from bright orange to flashing orange to show that the phone is charging. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=72988
But I have none of that flashing light anymore. I have tried to connect the lead of my battery to an other phone and it actually worked for this phone and showed the battery as full but not for the N900. Which mean the battery must have been charged.
I want to try the rescue Initrd but I need to have at least a connection with the PC but nothing seems to work.
Sothe phone is not working, it seem that the battery is not being charged, I can't flash my phone even when trying by pushing the U key.
I am really lost and don't know wht to do anymore.
Anybody could help? I will really appreciated it.

I'm using an Intel Core Duo 20" iMac and Apples' new keyboard. With Tiger, at first the keyboard wasn't recognized by the system during startup. After installing keyboard software update 1.2 everything worked fine.
Now I've installed Leopard and I'm back to where I was: the keyboard again isn't recognized at startup, so I'm forced to use the remote during startup to change to the windows partition , and I'm not able to reset PRAM settings.
Anyone with a solution?

Start-up commands are NOT recognized on Core Duos - YET...
there is an expected firmware update in the near future
for all start-up commands - use the old keyboard
ALSO - holding down the menu button on your remote during start-up allows you to select a start-up drive while moving with the control function

I downloaded the new version and it will not work on my sytem

I have used Firefox for the last three years with no problems. It asked me to download an update version 6.01 and now it will not work at all!!!???? I have cleaned it out then reloaded still the same issue will not hook up to the web page

I have changed from an old imac to a new imac27. I copy all conifuration from old to new, and all is working firna, but Aperture not. Even the app is copied, when trying to run is asking me for serial number. I enter the last I have and is complaning saying I have entered an upgrade serial number and request for original.
The problem now is I do not have anymore the original serial naumber and only the last upgrade.
