Instability with a capital I

First of all sorry for bringing this old topic about my system up again.
I can only use the performance modes Fast and Turbo if DDR voltage is set to 2.65-2.7, DDR frequency on Auto, memory by SPD and fsb to exactly 201..not 200 and not 202. Otherwise my system wont boot. In windows my system seems stable and I can surf around and run benchmarks all day if I like but when I play certain games (Warcraft III in particular) it reboots after 5-10 mins or I get memory read errors. Turbo seems MORE stable than Fast mode. Any ideas why?
It's not a cooling issue since the cpu temp never exceeds 43.
I'm probably going to get new memory sticks. the K2 version of the KHX3200 or 3500, haven't decided yet. They offered me a 85% refund for the ones I have.
I hope the following people read this thread cos i got some questions for you.

aggie02: Have you successfully tried higher fsb than 201 with your K2 sticks?
vango44: We got the same memory..is your system 100% stable? you got fsb set at 218 AND you have turbo. Let me know if you get your memory to run in Cas2.0
All i want is a system with PAT enabled that is stable and the possibility of overclocking in the future

If you can reasonably determine that the crashes are due to memory, then personally I would take the refund and go with the K2's. The Kingston site does say somewhere that these modules are more suitable for the 865/875 chipsets.(so I'd like to know what my modules are suitable for?? )
When you run in "slow", do you still get the game crashes at all.
How about running 5:4(set the Ram down to 333?) Try all the games that usually crash. I also switched my Ram from Dimm1+3 to 2+4 and this seemed to allow me to overclock a little higher.
If it still crashes in slow and at 333DDR, then I would suspect other problems than just the Ram(drivers/registry etc...)
It would be ideal if you could get a hold of some other memory just to try them out with your current config.

My last box was a Piii 733 and things have sure gotten a lot more complicated with Dual-Channel, Pat, Dot, Sata, Raid etc... Fortunately, I have as much fun tinkering with all the settings as I do playing games...But it's definitely frustrating sometimes.

Do you mean the App Store app on your iPad ? If you do then it can't be deleted, but you might have hidden it via Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps 'off' - if that is 'off' then turn it back 'on' and the app should show on one of your iPad's home screens again

I don't know about the first letter cap but the spelling is simple. Edit - Spelling and Grammar - Select While Typing and Correct Spelling Automatically.

Trouble with a capital W

The keyboard that came with my Mac was working fine until about five months ago it made it impossible for me to make a capital "w" by using the left shift. Every other letter worked so I just worked around it. Last week several of my vowels went out and i thought that perhaps the kids spilled something on the keyboard. I went to the Apple store today and bought another keyboard (with the alpha numeric) and the same thing happens with the capital W only. What is going on?

Open the Speech pane of System Preferences and check whether either the listening key or the speech key has become set to that keystroke; if so, change the setting.

someone has told me that if we implement some patches then system will show the entry whichever user is asking.
Is it possible? Is there any solution for this?

No, that is not requirement.
We will make the down payment with reference of Capital PO including taxes
then system will generate 7 to 8 line items. But user is asking system should show only 2 line items as i said above.
But someone has told me that if we apply some patches system will generate the entry as per user requirement.Since we are using 4.7 version.
any one can help me on this..

You can mark the rows starting with lower case letters using a formula, then filter on the contents of the column containing the formula. For the example below, the names are in column B and the formula is in column C.
C2: =IF(AND(CODE(B)>=95,CODE(B)<=122),"!!!","")
CODE returns the ASCII code for the first character in the target cell. Lower case letters have ASCII codes in the range specified in the formula: a = 95, z = 122
For names starting with characters in this range, the forula returns a string of three exclamation points. For any other initial character, the formula returns a null string ( "" ).
An empty cell in column B will cause the formula to return an error in that row of column C. You can avoid this by embedding the formula in an IF statement that suppresses the calculation if the length of the entry in column B is less than one character. Revised formula shown below.
C2: =IF(LEN(B)<1,"",IF(AND(CODE(B)>=95,CODE(B)<=122),"!!!",""))

I am a noob , am searching online but can't find exactly what i need.

I what to make a short powershell script that finds all users with capital letters from the second letter on.
Example
first name = Bob last name =Red corect

i want to extract all the wrong names with capital letters in text file
So my question is that possible and how can i do it in server 2008 r2.

This is obviously not an Exchange question, but a PowerShell question. You should probably post it in the scripting forums for completeness.
That being said, you can try using -cmatch against a regex. I used -cmatch '[A-Za-z]+[A-Z]+' to test a name with later capital letters, and it appeared to work.

When typing an email I need each new sentence to automaticaaly start with a capital letter. At present after a full stop the new sentence automatically starts with a lower case letternot an upper case one

Either you didn't actually call Apple, and got some tech support scammer instead (calling the first number that pops up on a Google search for "Apple support" can give you some bad numbers), or the Apple tech you spoke to didn't know what he's talking about. It's not a virus.

I'm looking for a way to replace small caps that are typed as capitals by their normal equivalent.
I've got a text that contains a lot of names which should all be set in small caps.
In fact they are, but because capital letters are used for first letters they don't scale.
Short: I would like to be able to look for A, B, C... (in small caps) and replace them with (a, b, c...) in small caps in one go.

Actually, it works only with OpenType fonts and - in this case - can be managed by UI find...change feature.
With other type of font we need a real change of contents (another keyboard hit).

IWork Pages - How to make sentences begin with a capital letter?

After loading Mavericks I updated my PAGES app to Version 5.0.
Cannot figure out how to start each sentence with the first letter capitalized automatically.

If 'dropped' that would be a real bummer!
I really would like to purge Microsoft Word 4 from all my Macs. I was really hoping Pages has matured into a modern robust word processor. The opposite seems the case....it seems more basic than the Mac word processors of the late 1980's. Thanks for your input........not good news if true.......but I'm afraid you are right.

System instability with 3000+ and Mega 180

My systems keep restarting in Windows when I change the FSB clock speed to 166 in the BIOS... I have an Athlon XP Barton 3000+ 333 FSB and a Mega 180 computer with 512 MB ram. I suspect the CPU is not getting enough voltage supplied to it, necessitated by the increased clock speed; however, there is no option in the BIOS to adjust the CPU voltage. I know some other users are using the 3000+ but does anyone know how to solve this issue? In the meantime I've had to bump the clock speed down to 100 Mhz, leaving me with an underclocked 3000+ running at a mere 1.3 ghz :( No bueno, amigo!
This shouldn't even be an issue because the motherboard states support for the 3000+ but it is causing my frustration to no end... any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have Windows XP Pro, SP1, latest nForce drivers, temperature is running around 55º C, and I even closed the MSI hardware monitor to make sure it wasn't giving false diagnostics, but the system still restarts .. I've reinstalled windows multiple times, still happening.. it has to be a hardware issue.

He didn't say directly; however, he did allude to the fact that a lot of instability issues were caused by the ram settings in the bios. I would venture to guess the auto detect function for the ram in the bios works with the supported ram manufacturers, but my ram is made by SpecTek... had to go on their site and get the values from a pdf... and then the values are in nanoseconds instead of clock cycles like the bios requires so I'll have to convert those values somehow... what I did do was play around with the values and bump the delay from 2.5 to 3 and that seemed to fix the stability issue... this helps in the meantime before I figure out the exact value for each ram setting in the bios.. at least it doesn't restart anymore!

[865PE/G Neo2] Instability With Graphics / Games

With AGP set to 8x in the ATI Control Panel, games crash about 15 minutes after playing. This affects not just games but anything that uses graphics. For example, even my aquarium screensaver crashes after 15 minutes.

I have found a solution but not one that I'm happy with. I changed the AGP from 8x to 4x in the control panel and it has only crashed once since and that was after my aquarium screen saver had been on a couple hours. So perhaps if I played games longer it would eventaully crash like the screensaver.
With 8x AGP, using an older ATI driver my games would just crash to a black screen. After updating to the latest Catalyst, 3.10, it crashes to the vpu recovery most of the time. I'm using bios 1.9 and this never happened before updating. The only problem I had before 1.9 was a couple times the computer froze and I had a colored box about 1" x 1" at the top left of the screen. I've reinstalled Windows XP though and haven't had that problem since.
I've changed my memory voltage to 2.8 and vcore to 1.6. AGP is 1.6 volts and locked at 66/33. Temps are the same at 4x as 8x so I don't think temps are the problem. My Radeon 9700 Pro is running at 55C idle and 65C under load. My CPU is running at 40C idle and 45C-50C under load. Performance mode is set to slow and Spread Spectrum is disabled. HT is enabled. I've tried setting my fsb to 200MHz and memory to 400MHz but that doesn't help so overclocking isn't the problem. I'm not overclocking the video card now and never have.
I'd like to go back to an older bios to see if that fixes my problem but I don't know how. I made a bootable dos disk in Windows XP but it can't see my NTFS C: so I can't access the bios files at c:/test.

After going back to bios 1.8 things seem to be stable for longer than with 1.9. Screensavers still lock up after a couple hours and that never happened previously. I used to leave the computer on while I was at work and when I got back the screen saver would still be going. Now when I get home the screen is black and I have to reboot. Tonight I noticed that it wasn't just solid black. It blinked between black as in no video and a dark grey color. I was watching a movie so I didn't bother getting up to restart it. It continued blinking for a while and then my lcd put up an error saying "This video mode is not supported."
I've tried both a Radeon 9600 Pro and 9700 Pro and reinstalled Windows XP and all of the latest drivers. I've set my processor back to 200MHz and set the mem to 2.8 volts and the vcore to 1.6. Still the system is not stable and I'm out of ideas. I would agree that it could be the Radeon 9700 since ATI says there is an incompatiblity but since my Radeon 9600 doesn't work in this system either I don't think that is the problem. I don't know if the motherboard is at fault or if the problem lies in a faulty component. Any advise will be appreciated. All I can think to do is start replacing parts one part at a time until I have a stable system. I think I'll start by replacing the motherboard.

Hi David,
This video card has a know problem with the Intel 865 chipset. The only ati cards that work have to have a serial # with -30 at the end or higher or they will not work. Because this card is discontinued our supplier cannot gaurantee a -30 card as a replacement. We can only exchange for a different item within the first 15 days so the only thing I can suggest is to see if you have a friend that may want to buy the card as there is probably nothing wrong with it and then buy another one. Any of the new 9600 or 9800 series don't have this problem. If you have any other questions let me know. Thanks alot.

It isn't serial numbers that end with a -30 but rather product numbers. I found the info online on how to determine if your card is compatible. The product number on my card does end with a -30 so it is compatible. Also this isn't just so with the 865pe chipset, it also applies to the 875p chipset.
