Instagram deleted camera roll in ios 7

Updated to iOS 7 on an iPhone 5  with over 2000 photos in camera roll. I launched instgram and granted access to the camera roll, all of the photos are now gone. If anyone has any ideas how to get them back that would be great.
iPhone backed up to cloud not iTunes.
Thanks

    What exactly have you deleted.
If you have deleted the photos from your camera roll on your device, then you may well have lost them, assuming that they are not also in photo stream.
Please tell is exactly what you deleted and from where.

  • How to retrieve deleted camera roll on ipad

    Can anyone help?
I have deleted the camera roll photos from the ipad by mistake.
I plugged the ipad into my computer and treated it as a camera device and selected copy all pitcures.
I could not backup to the icloud because the files were too big.
I then deleted the photo stream via my computer and deleted camera roll on the device itself before a realised that some of the pictures were missing. I believe the photos missing are in the camera roll.
Is there any way to retrieve these photos?

    No.

  • Cannot delete photos in camera roll on ios 7

The trash icon does not appear blue when I select photos in ios 7... They are in camera roll but not showing in albums.

There are a number of issues here.
Only photos taken with the iPad camera can be placed in the folders created within the in house app Photos. Since they are linked, deleting one of them deletes all copies.
Photos not taken by the iPad camera cannot be deleted from within the iPad.
For non iPad Photo app pictures you are better to create your folders on your pc, manage them from there  (including subsequent deletes) and sync.
I hope I have got this right. There are other photo apps which might simplify this.

  • How do I delete photos from my Camera roll in iOS 7

I have over 1,000 photos in my iPhone Camera Roll.  I would like to delete all the photos in the Camera Roll.  How do I do this efficiently in iOS 7?

    Hi mikeschumann,
Of course you can delete photos from your Camera Roll:
Go into your photos app and select the Camera Roll album
Click on Select at the top right of the screen
Select the photos you want to delete
Click on the Trash can at the bottom of the screen
Just remember, if you have not imported those photos into a photo app on a computer, they will be permanently deleted. You may have them on an iCloud backup, but each backup you do has only the image of the current state of your device. So, if the 1000 photos have been backed up in the last iCloud backup you do, then you delete them, and do another iCloud backup, that backup will not have those photos. Then, say, you take another 100 new photos, and back up to iCloud. That backup will have the most recent 100 photos, but not the 1000 previously backed up.
So, your best bet is to import them to your photo app on your computer, and then select delete photos from device when asked.
    Cheers,

  • Phone crashes when trying to delete camera roll

Have seen a few posts on here about deleting the camera roll, so had a go, as I was tired of photos being duplicated on my PC after download (Photoshop does not give the opportunity to delete the camera roll as it does with my SLR after syncing). So, in My Computer/my iphone I found the photos, and a button to delete the selected items. Highlighting all but one (i have read that deleting all disables the camera) and pressing 'delete selected items' resulted in a temporary system freeze, then an iphone reboot. When the iphone is back up, nothing has been deleted. I have subsequently deleted each photo manually on the phone. Seems to me to be a bug (or feature!) intended to frustrate PC owners. Comment Apple?

Here is an article from the apple support website that might help out.

  • Syncing photo's from iphoto adds another 'photo library' without deleting 'camera roll' photo

    Hi there,
I found that I can add photo's (without deleting my existing camera roll) to my Iphone 4 from my girlfriends mac to my iphone by syncing from iphoto and selecting the photo events or folder I want. Then pressing 'apply' adds a new photo library to my phone with these selected pics in them. In this cercumstance I can only delete these photos using the same process by de-selecting them in 'sync from iphoto' and again pressing 'apply' There is no function / icon in my actual iphone to delete this library or even individual photo.
However when I try this exact same process on my girlfriends Iphone 4 (same model) the 'apply' function threatens to delete all photos from her phone, leaving her with ONLY the ones selected / checked.
Just in case it is part of explaining this I have tried this logged in on my account and hers but both have the same results in every combination. There appear to be two different set of rules going on here within I-tunes I would prefer to be able to add photo's without deleting existing ones but I would also like to be able to selectively delete these photo's once on my phone without going back to connect to tha mac.
Can anyone explain if this is possible or am I asking for 'my cake AND eat it' ?
Why are ther differences in our phones governing rules in Itunes?

Thanks Winston, you are correct "sync". In fact I found the answer in a slightly different way. There is a check-box in the photo's tab that provides for syncing photo's before any media. Therefore this will in fact create the necessary space on the ATV for the photo's by moving other media content from syncing to streaming.
Of course the alternative, as you point out is to limit what actually gets synced in custom sync.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
    Regards

  • IPhone 4S won't delete camera roll...

    Well,
My camera roll is taking up 39 GB, so I want to delete the camera roll.
I go to Settings, Usage, Photos and Camera, swipe left on Camera Roll, delete button shows up, press delete. It does nothing. It refused to delete it. I have restared the phone, all GB's are still there. I have done this 12 times.
Has this happened to anyone, if so how do I get rid of it??
I am still on OS 6.1.4. as obviously I cannot download OS7, because I have 57.1 GB's used.
    Thanks,
    Karen

    Well.
Apparently this particular iPhone 4S just does not delete the camera roll. Oh well.
Hooked up to Image Capture and voila! Delete.

  • Transferring deleted camera roll photos onto Macbook

My friend recently moved in and she wanted to recover some deleted photos from her camera roll on an iPhone 4. She doesn't have a computer here and recently switched to a different device. I also don't want to sync all of the photos from my Mac to her phone. Is there anything I can do?

    No.
They would have to be somewhere in order to recover them.
If she has not backed up to iCloud or a computer, and she has failed to import them to her computer as you should do regularly, then they are gone.
    Sorry

  • Is there anyway of restoring a deleted camera roll?

I was trying to update my phone via Itunes and it has deleted all my camera roll including pictures, videos etc.
For some reason, the restore point is after I did the update, meaning on doing this, everything is still gone.
It has saved 18 photos in my photo stream though, plus contacts etc, so surely they must be somewhere.
I saw the storage was correct on the bottom bar when my iPhone was plugged in and thought pressing sync would put it back on to the phone, but that didnt work, instead just synced the new memory and I now can't revert back to find that sync which should have everything.
Is there anyone out there who can help, and would there be a sync saved on to my computer somewhere?
Or, is there a reliable software download that can find them for me, as its got some stuff on that I really didnt want to lose.
Or finally, is there a number to ring Apple on that you don't have to pay £25 first to talk to anyone?
Thanks in advance for any help of any sort.
    Mike

if you backup to computer you can restore it by connecting to the computer using usb and using itunes on the computer to restore the device with the backup from the computer
if you backup to icloud you can restore from there
    otherwise no

  • Can I recover deleted Camera Roll pics?

After uploading iOS5 to my iPhone 4 I decided to sync my photos to iTunes. After the sync, all of my Camera Roll photos were deleted off the phone and ones added from my pictures folder on the computer to the phone which I didn't want. To make matters worse, I've done several syncs after this. As I understand it, iTunes only holds data from the previous two backups. I have no idea where the original photos went after the first sync. Are these pics stored somewhere under an iTunes directory or are they now lost for good? I now sympathize with all others who have lost valuable pics...never make that mistake again! Backup regularly! Thx!

Sorry for the delay in replying. No, at the time of the iTunes sync it copied all the photos from my Windows picture folder to the phone and erased my camera roll at the same time. The photos were on the phone when it was backed up but several auto syncs had occurred afterwards when trying to find the pictures again and now even a restore won't put them back since I believe iTunes only stores two backup histories. I was looking to see if the computer had a file somewhere since they were backed up in the past.

  • Recover deleted Camera Roll photos?

I'm traveling on vacation, and during a sync, I inadvertently deleted about 20 photos. Of course they are photos I really want. I tried doing a restore from a backup, but that didn't work (I don't know if Camera Roll photos are even included in the backup/restore process for the iPhone). I've tried a couple of recovery programs - Klix and Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery - for Mac, and for Windows running Parallels. In all cases, the programs don't even see the iPhone. Does anyone have any suggestions for how recovery may be possible? I know retrieval of deleted items on a computer is far from perfect, but I've used the iPhone very little since I screwed up, and there is 17 GB available memory on my 32 GB phone, so I'm hopeful.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Only one normal iPhone backup is kept by iTunes. It's actually an incremental backup in that only data that has changed is actually backed up. While camera roll photos are included in the iPhone backup, deleting such photos on your phone & then syncing effectively removes these photos from your iPhone backup. The first thing done when you sync is an iPhone backup. Photos in your iPhone camera roll should always be imported to your computer & never stored in your camera roll.

  • Deleted camera roll on backup

I was in the midst of restoring my iPhone 4s and I accidentally deleted my camera roll.  So now I have two problems.  I was restoring my phone because I downloaded 6.0.1 and my speakers stopped working.  I still don't have speakers.  And now I have also lost my camera roll.  I have purchased additional iCloud storage.  I have contacted Apple Support regarding the speakers.  This is nuts.  I should have backed up the camera roll separately - but didn't.  I never knew this was going to be so difficult to get a phone to work.  Now with one click, I have lost over a year of photos.  Memories I will not get back (apparently).  I am so frustrated.  If anyone has a REAL solution, please comment.  I know I should have backed up - I thought I had and it would all be good.  I was so wrong.

Sorry, they are gone unless you had Photo Stream turned on.
