Instal Oracle9i and Dev Suite on Linux Version?

I'm preparing to install Oracle 9i with the development suite for educational purposes on Linux. Didn't find System Requirements.
Will Red Hat Linux 7.3 Professional work with my oracle configuration?
I hope Linux 7.2 for Itanium is not a requirement.
Thanks in advance.

How to install d2k release 6i on redhat linux version 7.3?

have you tried using open motif 2.1.30?
the open motif version that comes with the redhat 7.3 is 2.2 and is not compatible with 6i. Once I used open motif 2.1.30 it worked fine. The environment variable setting is very similar to any other unix version. Ensure that you are also intalling the latest patch (10) for 6i (fixed lots of problems).

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

  • Re-installation of a damaged/partial install of Oracle Dev Suite 10g (9.0.4

    Hi
First of apologies if this is the incorrect location to post - I couldn't find a dedicated forum!!
    My problem is this......
I have followed Oracle's guidelines and created a silent installation of the full Dev Suite 10g (9.0.4) and have used this many times successfully to install to fully patched Windows XP Pro workstations.
Periodically the installation fails and only partially completes....no problem I naively thought - reinstall.
Initially I tried re-installing over the top of the partial install - but this always fails with the error "You have specified a non-empty directory to install this product...etc"
Oracle's recommended method is to uninstall and then reinstall - except the installer doesn't think anything is installed.
The obvious thing was then to delete all folders and files pertaining to Dev Suite....this also failed with the same message!!
I extended my deletion to temp folders, windows\prefetch and the registry......still fails!!
Frustratingly the java installer doesn't have the force reinstall switch that the windows installer has....gggrrrr...
So I had the mad idea of watching a manual install......this generated the non-empty folder error......so I deleted the folders and hey bisto!! Then I started getting these errors "The value of the environment variable path is more than 1023 characters. This value cannot be set."
I even tried creating a response file against a damaged install.....failed with both of the above errors.
Now I am stuck....if only Oracle used a decent windows installer!!
I did think to check the installation on a virgin build workstation - success....
I really hope someone can help me with this as it's driving me mad!!
    Please help
    Thanks in advance

    Many thanks Sainath.....
This has certainly helped......the limitation appears to be in the java installer......it seems to check whether there is enough space in the Env Var PATH and errors if there is insufficient space.
Of course the installer was written in pre SP2 days when the Env Vars were limited to 1023 characters......todat SP2 allows 2047 characters.
My installation script now temporarily modifies the PATH variable, allows the installation and then returns the PATH variable to its original state and then adds the DevSuite paths.
    I can now smile again.
    Thanks
    Greg

Get the official installation guides at
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
However, they won't contain "now enter command X and now enter command Y". You will need to have a basic understanding what you are doing before you can install a SAP system (and the database).

  • Unable to install breqn and cadabra on Arch Linux

    Hi,
I am running Arch Linux (64-bit) on my Dell XPS 15 laptop. I use LaTeX for all my scientific typesetting. Surprisingly, a search on google did not reveal anything useful. Apparently the problem is validating the package 'breqn' which is a prerequisite for cadabra, but fails to install through yaourt because of some md5 checksum validation error (as I understand). And it seems there is no override for this in yaourt.
Any suggestions to help me get cadabra to work will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

Your problem is that the file the PKGBUILD is downloading is not the same one that the creator of the PKGBUILD was working with.
an md5sum is a hash (a fingerprint, if you will) of the file.  When the PKGBUILD was created, that fingerprint was included in the file.  That yours does not match means one of two things:
    1. The file you downloaded was either corrupt, or has been tampered with, or
    2. The file you downloaded has been updated by the author, but the PKGBUILD has not been updated.
If it is case 1, stop.  If it is case 2, you can do the following:
The Cadabra PKGBUILD was updated last June (almost a year ago).  You can either post a comment to the AUR and see if the maintainer will fix it, or you can fix the PKGBUILD yourself and (hopefully) post the changes back to the AUR as a comment.

You say you downloaded 10202_zlinux, is IBM Linux on System z really your OS and platform? Not impossible,of course, but most Linux systems run on x86. Since it's not a old bash version, I think you have the wrong software.

  • How to install GCC and DKMS on Oracle Linux?

    Hello,
I am a newbie to Oracle Linux. I installed Oracle Linux on a virtual machine using Oracle VirtualBox. Now I need to install the packages DKMS and GCC in order to share drives between the host and the ghost.
    Here is what is happening:
    # yum install dkms
    Setting up Install Process
    Setting up repositories
No Repositories Available to Set Up
Reading repository metadata in from local files
    Parsing paskage install arguments
    No Match for afgument: dkms
    Nothing to do
    Please, advice what to do.
    Thanks in advance.

Here is what you need to install under Oracle Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux to install the VirtualBox Guest Additions:
    <pre>yum -y install gcc kernel-uek-devel-$(uname -r)</pre>
The packages are available from the Oracle public yum repository as already mentioned, or on the installation DVD in the server directory.

How can I tell if Adobe Flash is installed properly and upto date version?
Hi Guys and girls, hopefully an easy question for you.
I installed Adobe flash and lightsource last night, cos I needed it to run Weebly website maker.
Anyone know if Weebly runs correctly on 10.9.1??
I have a new comp, so no previous version of flash on here, I am running OSX 10.9.1
I just want to know How I can tell if Adobe Flash is installed properly and is the upto date version?
Where do I go in the comp to find out,
If I type in Adobe flash into search it only brings up flash manager, when I click this it is an uninstaller program.
    Lightsource shows in finder apps.
If I type in flash player it shows up in plugins with a version number see screen shot.
Where would I go to check for updates for things like flash on my comp?
