Instalar inDesign CS5.5 con Creative Cloud?

Mi pregunta es si es posible descargar y activar inDesign CS5.5 con una subscripción a Creative Cloud Suite?

Hola Josep María, gracias por las explicaciones, es lo que suponía que hacías.
Bueno si tienes una licencia de la CS5.5 no debes preocuparte es (parece ser) para siempre. En cambio la Creative Cloud es para utilizar desde la CS6 en adelante, mas concretamente la actual CC, la diferencia ya sabes es que tan pronto dejes de pagar te cortan la luz y el gas.
Asi que mi consejo en este tema es que mantengas la versión CS5.5, y por otro lado instales las últimas versiones de subscripción CC, que pueden coexistir. Aunque si no tienes la CS5.5....
Cómo lo has hecho entonces hasta ahora, para editarla en la 5.5? (O tienes acaso una CS5?)
Respecto al IDML, que es lo que no sale exacto?
Y lo de responsabilizar a la imprenta en el resultado final de la impresión, lo tienen tanto con un IDML o con un PDF, creo que te refieres a la etapa de preimpresión o "fotomecánica".
Supongo que abrir el IDML en InDesign, revisarlo y hacer el PDF para el CTP son servicios y tiempo que te cobran. Si les llevaras un PDF listo para imprimir te ahorrarías dinero y quizás tiempo.
Has probado a hacer un PDF de tu revista a modo de prueba y enviarlo a la imprenta y que te lo revisen si está todo correcto? Si lo haces con tiempo, sin prisas, podrás acabar haciendo PDFs que salgan como quieres o quieran en la imprenta, como los ves en tu equipo.
(Sé que no es tan sencillo y requiere ciertos conocimientos de preimpresión. pero cuando abren tus archivos en Indesign, sabes si tienen que cambiar algo? Si no es asi, se pueden limitar a darte un preajuste para hacer los PDFs igual que los hacen ellos en InDesign).
Como ya sabes el PDF incrusta imágenes y fuentes en el PDF. En cambio el IDML no incluye ninguno de esos elementos. Les facilitas "alegremente" las fuentes usadas (no es legal hacerlo) y tus imágenes en alta resolución? Hay que tener mucha confianza para eso.

    I wondered if someone could help me with the transition from CS5 to CS6 (Creative Cloud). I'm on a Mac with Mountain Lion.
    I would like to migrate as many settings (i.e. workspaces where relevant), personal Photoshop actions, plug-ins (i.e. Type DNA, FontShop [Photoshop], Scriptographer [Illustrator] and Blurb Template Creator [InDesign]) as possible from CS5 to CS6. What is the easiest and smoothest way to do this?
    Some settings, actions and plug-ins might not work with CS6, I don't know. I can't find where my Photoshop actions are archived atm.
    Can I import extensions from Adobe Extension Manager CS5 to Adobe Extension Manager CS6?
    Should I uninstall all CS5 apps? I'd like to keep InDesign CS5 for backwards compatibility at least.
    Does Audition completely replace Soundbooth? What about Flash Catalyst, Device Central and OnLocation?
    Edit: I have already installed all the Creative Cloud applications btw. But I haven't uninstalled any CS5 apps yet.

    Hi Elvind,
    I would suggest keeping both CS5 and CS6 versions on the system until you are fully transitioned, longer if you want. When you launch Photoshop CS6 it will ask you if you want to import settings from the prior version. Third party plug-ins may or may not be compatible between versions so you might need to check with the manufacturer to find out. You would most likely need to reinstall any third party plug-ins that integrate into existing Adobe product installations though.

    For the PS actions, I normally open the actions panel, highlight the actions set (folder) I wanted to migrate, from the flyout menu of the panel choose the option to save the set, this creates the .atm file. There is another option for importing actions in the same menu.
    I can't speak to migrating in relation to the other products. I would recommend posting in the respective product forums.

    I am a new Indesign user and a Creative Cloud member.  I was using the Window/Pages drop down window to view my pages alphabetically or by page number and also to determine whether or not my JPEG files were sufficiently HI-Res for the printer.  I don't know how I did it but somehow the window has changed so that now it does not have the alphabetical/numerical/Hi-Res information.  It just shows the pages in a two page spread in numerical order.  How can I restore the window so that I will be able to view the information as I did previously.

    The pages panel is not the place where you see this information.  You can customize the Links panel to show all sorts of things, including the page number, effective and actual ppi, and whether the link is OK or needs updating.

    If I am understanding your question correctly, you shouldn't have to worry about embedded images in InDesign. Once embedded, the image is stored within the file.
    If you are wondering about linked images... InDesign will follow the path on your computer and, if it does not find the image, you will recieve a notification. Edit: To prevent this, I would suggest packaging your file using File > Package... This will create a folder with all of your fonts and linked graphics so that you need not worry about broken links.  I just remembered that you cannot upload folders directly to Creative Cloud so a packaged folder wouldn't be very helpful unless you wanted to upload each file manually.
    The best solution I see right now is to either embed the graphics in the document, or upload the images with your document to relink.

  • Trouble Downloading Indesign CS6 etc through Creative Cloud

    I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
    I have a creative cloud account and have downloaded previous pieces of software including Indesign CS6. I was having launch issues with Indesign (on OS Mountian Lion) so deleted the package via app zapper. Now within the files and apps creative download/upload section I am unable to download any apps. Has anyone else had this problem? Unfortunately in Adobe Applications Manager it see Indesign as installed.
    The other problem is that I've just noticed my Adobe Application Manager appears to longer be installed. It looks like Adobe Download Assistant has overwritten it? Maybe?

    Hi Anna,
    We really apologize for all the inconvinience you have faced.
    There seems to leftover data remaining in different places on you system which is not allowing the applications to reinstall on the pc.
    I would suggest please follow the manual cleanup steps & Run the Adobe CS Cleaner Tool given in the knowledgebase document below:

    Hi, Ich wollte mir die Indesign Trial Version runterladen. Nach Klick auf 'Testversion' muss man ja wohl etwas installieren, das sich Adobe Creative Cloud nennt. Getan. Auf Desktop liegt auch eine Verknuepfung mit diesem Namen, aber bei Doppelklick hierauf oeffnet sich ganz kurz ein schwarzes Fenster, das sich sofort wieder schliesst. mehr passiert nicht. Hat jemand eine Ahnung was es damit auf sich hat und wie ich nun an die Trial Version Indesign gelange? Danke fuer Rueckmeldungen.

    danke fuer die Antwort. Nicht sicher, was OS heissen soll, denke mal, Betriebssystem. Das ist windows 7, laptop, deutsche version, programm sollte indesign sein (siehe erster post).
    So, habe jetzt die Indesign App meines Wissens heruntergeladen, dann sollte man wohl die Cloud aufrufen, es funktioniert aber trotzdem nichts.
    Puh, muss sagen, das ist ganz schoen benutzerundfreundlich und zeitfressend. man wird einfach ueberhaupt nicht informiert, welche schritte man wie genau machen muss. alles guesswork und dann passiert nichts. warum nicht? woanders klappt es doch auch. da vergeht einem wirklich die lust, das programm zu nutzen. da vergehen tage mit ausprobieren und man ist sich nichtmal sicher, ob man es denn irgendwann heruntergeladen bekommt.
    was meisnt du 'aus der anwendung (welche anwendung?) heraus auf test klicken und Programm runterladen'?

  • Downloading InDesign book files from Creative Cloud files

    Gang,
    I'm working on a project that has me using the Creative Cloud files to store the changes I make. I know I'm not using all of the features, but with my own personal account on two machines and my employers site license on the other, I end up using the browser version of Creative Cloud to upload and download files on my work computer.
    When I download a book file (.indb), Creative Cloud and my browser seem to get confused as to what kind of file it is. Creative Cloud asks me and doesn't have an option for InDesign Book. When it downloads, it downloads as a .octet-stream file. I later go to Finder and change the extension to indb and life is good.
    Is this a bug or a feature?

  • CS6 Indesign Files stored on Creative Cloud corrupt

    I have not had any previous issues with opening Indesign files until today. Any file I try to open from my cloud folder generates a crash error. Paste bin screen shot below. All other Indesign files not in my cloud folder open correctly. Also I visited the creative cloud website and the file previews correctly. When I try to download a version from the site it only generates a null file that is not viewable.

    iMac 3.2 GHZ Intel Core i5
    Memory 16gb 1600 mhz ddr3
    OS X 10.8.3.

    You cannot attach screen shots. You must embed them using the camera icon onthe web page, like this:

  • Installing cs5/6 on Creative Cloud subscription

    Hi All
    Apologies if this seems like an obvious question: Can I access Premiere CS5 or 6 via my creative cloud subscription. I currently subscribe to Premiere cc on my mac pro but my laptop is a bit of a relic and its graphics card won't support newer versions of the software.
    I am eventually going to upgrade my hardware, but in the meantime any thoughts?

    Please open Creative cloud desktop app and select Previous version from the drop down in Find New apps as shown in the screen shot below.
    You can install Premiere pro CS6 from the list.
    Or you can download Premiere pro CS6 from the link below as well and sign in with your Adobe Id and password to activate the application.

  • Do I need to uninstall Photoshop CS5 to get creative cloud to work?

    I've done almost everything on the list of things to do to get the blue spinning wheel to go away when I click on the apps. One of the options says to uninstall Creative Suite 5 and Elements 11 applications. Does that include Photoshop CS5? Not going to do that if that is the case. The other option is to delete the entire contents of the OOBE Folder which then says it will make Creative Cloud upload slower, which doesn't sound like a great option. This whole creative cloud experience has been terrible and I want it to stop. Thanks

    CS versions have nothing to do with CC, neither technically nor in terms of licensing. While it is imaginable that the activation systems collide, that's like a one in a million chance. Therefore uninstalling CS% probably would not fix anything. the rest we cannot know. you have not provided any system information or other useful technical details.

    If I own Production Suite CS 5 and I buy the Creative Cloud but find I don't like it so I discontinue use and payment of creative cloud. Will I still be able to use the CS5 version I have bought?
    Also will using the creative cloud mean I no longer will be creating local files on my computer?

    You install Cloud software on your local machine and use them as you normally would, saving your work locally as you normally would.
    You can choose which local files (if any) you want to store in the Cloud (for storage or sharing with others)
